How to manage variables in dynamically loaded sequence

Variables in dynamically loaded sequence files are not managed properly.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Unpack attached zip file
2. Launch TestStand Sequence Editor
3. Add directory of unpacked files to Search Directories list (Configure>>Search Directories...)
4. Set Station Model to unpacked "UpdatedSequentialModel.seq" (Configure>>Station Options...; Model tab in TestStand Sequence Editor)
5. Load unpacked "A.seq" sequence file  (File>>Open Sequence File.. in TestStand Sequence Editor)
6. Check "Execute>>Break on First Step"
7. Run "Test UUTs"
8. When execution breaks, note the following:
a) "Locals.SomeVar" contain "The value, which stored in the file" instead of "New value"
b) Although actual running sequence file is "B.seq", the tab title is: "Test UUTs - A.seq"
Try also:
1. To examine "RunState.ProcessModelClient.Data.Seq["MainSequence"].Locals.SomeVar" variable, when breakpoint is set at <End Group> of PreUUT of Station Model "UpdatedSequentialModel.seq".
2. Open unpacked "B.seq" sequence file in TestStand Sequence Editor and repeat all the checks
Additional info:
1. I use TestStand 4.0.0.326
2. Attached Process Model file "UpdatedSequentialModel.seq" is original "SequentialModel.seq" with only one step "UpdateClientSequence" added in PreUUT.
3. The source of mentioned above new added step is attached as well.

Kristen,
"Why I architect "My application" this way?"
"My application" is intended to serve significant amount of test stations and products. Each product is represented by its own test sequence file.
"My application" and client sequence files are independent products. Client sequence files are responsible for products testing, while "My application" is responsible for common tasks.
Process Model is most pertinent place to perform common tasks (common for all test stations and for all products).
Providing supplemental sequence file just to perform SequenceCall, is completely unnatural.
Moreover, if using SequenceCall, I see no way to update local variables of new launched sequence file, before it starts to execute (step 5 of "Message 3 of 4").
Thus, the solution, which you propose, cannot satisfy our factory requirements.
Back to my questions.
1. Is something wrong with the way, which I implement the task?
2. Is it possible to implement my task using NI TestStand?
3. Is my problem caused by incorrect usage of "edit copy" and "runtime copy" of the variable? TestStandReferenceManual says:
"Built-in properties of steps and sequences are flagged to be shared at run time. For these shared properties, TestStand does not create a unique run-time copy, but instead references the edit-time copy. Any changes to the run-time reference of these built-in properties edits the original Step or Sequence object in the sequence file."
The variable, which we discussing is not Built-in property.
4. If previous correct, how differentiate between "edit copy" and "runtime copy" of the variable?

  • How can you display a dynamically loaded vi to the Web Server?

    I am working with LabView 6.1 and the Web Server. I can call a subvi and have it display on a remote machine using a browser with no problem. But what I would like to do is dynamically load and run a vi and have it display on the remote computer using only a browser. I have tried a small example of a front panel that invokes the run vi method (and fp.open prop) on another vi when a button is pressed, but the invoked vi is displayed only on the local computer. Is there any way of viewing dynamically loaded vi's on a remote machine without having a copy of LabView running on it?

    If i understand your question correctly, you want to monitor vi that are dynamically loaded on a remote machine without having LabVIEW installed on the machine from witch you want the monitor. I don't think it's possible how ever a good reference book would be Internet applications in LabVIEW. You can find it on BARNES&NOBLE.
    Hope i could help

  • How to manage the "no data" loading in process chain

    Hi,
    I want to load some master data in delta mode with a process chain. The treatment works good except in one case.
    If I have no data selected during the extraction ( cause the system doesn't find any data matching with the delta field ), the process chain appears in red as if some problems was encountered instead of giving a traffic light green.
    How is it possible to manage this case of treatment as a normal treatment ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Marc,
    in RSMO ,
    Using Settings -> Evaluation of Requests ->
    if no data is available in the system, the request
    select Green (is Judged to be successful). this will cause the load to be successful if Zero records are fetched and the Process chain will not fail.
    Cheers

  • How to change variable values dynamicly  in broadcasting

    Dear Friends i am scheduling workbooks using broadcasting feature.
    i want to know how can i change the variable values of report in broadcasting dynamically.
    becuase i dont want to schedule report again and again after changing the variable values.
    Regards
    Malik

    i did the same but its not working.
    i create one variant for the query ABC  using RSRT now if i look into table RSRVARIANT we can see that variant
    entry in this table. Now i create variant by bex on this query with the same name.
    now i schedule it using broadcasting but its not takeing the values of RSRVARIANT table.
    Its taking the value of variant which i save in bex.
    By default variant which is save in bex not appear in RSRVARIANT table.
    But i f you make a variant in RSRT you can see those entries in Table RSRVARIANT.
    But RSRT variant is not showing in Broadcast scheduling. Only Bex variant are showing.
    Where should create the variant in Workbook, in Bex web analyzer, or in RSRT.

  • How to Build Attribute Dimension Dynamically & Load with LCM?

    Hi, I'm trying to modify the existing outline at cilent's site. For some reason, when I pulled the outline with extractor, it didnt come out in the format that is compatible with Outline Load Utility. I was told to use LCM so I may still load with minimal to no modification to the existing structure of outline.
    So can I build dimensions dynamically in EXCEL then load with LCM and push to Planning?

    The log came back with many unrecognized headers in the outline. I spoke to Oracle Support many times, and they said that the format of our outline is improper for Outline Load Utility to read.
    Since the outline has already been incorporated, we are not allowed to many any significant changes. That is why we were advised to use LCM.
    I tried to use a sample of one of the existing attribute dimensions in XML as the base and build the new attribute but it failed. I would appreciate if you can provide steps by steps resources to show how to add new attributes to the existing outline.

  • How to manage variable conversion factor in UOM to order unit

    Hi,
    We have a material whose base unit is PC unit price is 8 Euro / PC
    Order unit is Box now we do not have a standard conversion factor.
    Means sometimes vendor send 8 pc/ Box ,10 pc /Box and 12 pc /Box
    so when we create Material master and enter order unit as Box in purchasing view system ask for conversion rate
    if we do not enter any the value in PC field its taking 1 Box =1 PC as default.
    Example: Now while creating PO say we order for 10 box.(at this point we do not know exact conversion rate)
    and in the conditions we maintain price against PC .system calculate.
    Now when we receive the material then we actually know how much QTy we receive in SKU (PC) but that field is blur (no input) in 101 mvt type.
    One more thing In MIGO we can enter the Qty in PO Price Unit say we enter 80 PC
    system only creates stock value posting (80 * 8 =640 Euro ) but the stock qty in MMBE is still 10 piece ( from 1:1 conversion with box)
    Please suggest how we can handle this variable conversion rate.
    So that we can enter correct Qty in the time of GR ( MIGO ).
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the valuable  Input.
    For our material base unit is PC order unit is Box.
    Say we main a conversion factor 10 PC =1 Box ( a default value) in MM01
    And we order 10 Box. but when we receive we found that vendor send 12 pc per Box so total 120 pc
    [ Po price unit is in PC in condition details]
    Now in MIGO we cannot modify that Qty ( from 100 to 120 in PC)
    SO you are suggesting here we receive 12 box in MIGO. so that actual qty in PC is correct..
    Thanks again

  • How to unload dynamically loaded modules?

    Hi,
    I have a problem with unloading module, which I loads dynamically.
    Here is a fragment my code:
    <TitledWindow .......creationComplete="init()"/>
    <mx:Accordion id="lista_ryzyk">
    </mx:Accordion>
    <mx:Script>
    public function init():void
    {    CairngormEventDispatcher.getInstance().addEventListener(LoadRisksEvent.EVENT_RESULT, populateAccordion);
    public function populateAccordion(event:CairngormEvent):void
         lista_ryzyk.removeAllChildern();
         for (i in risks)
              var m:ModuleLoader = new ModuleLoader();
              m.url = path_to_module;
              m.label = module_label;
              m.loadModule();
         lista_ryzyk.addChildAt(m,Number(i));
    </mx:Script>
    The modules loads fine. Each module adds own eventListener for some event. It works fine, but ONLY for first time. For next invoke populateAccordion function, the modules loads, but don't reacts for event. I investigate !!! that for events reacts that modules, which was loaded for the first time!!! How to remove it????

    Using array, didn't solve my problem, but it is possible that I'm doing something wrong.
    I still can't catch event in second time loaded module :-((( I have tried to solve this problem from wednesday! it goes me crazy!
    Could you, or anybody, try to inspect my code and help me? I have no idea how to manage it.
    I know exactly what is wrong, but I can't improve that. In module's creationComplete function I display the UID of this module, and in body of eventHandler function I do the same. In case of FIRST time  the displayed UID are the same, but when I load the module second time, the UID of the loaded module displayed in creationComplete function is new, but the UID displayed in handler function is the same as the first loaded module. So my event is catch by the wrong modul, and I don'tknow how to change it, how to process event in my newly loaded module.

  • How can I use the same parameter to use elsewhere by Manage Variables ?

    Hello,
    I have a little problem that I need to know. I want to use the same parameter to use elsewhere.
    Example,
    I have a parameter on page 1 and I wish to use this parameter in the other page by Manage Variables.
    How can I do this ?
    Thank you.

    ..just open ManageVariables (right click on the a page and select Manage Variables)...
    then you select the parameter on the page where you want to insert your previous value (your variable)...use the dropdown list to select the variable that contains your value...and it should work

  • How can I access global variables in a loaded Applescript?

    How can I access global variables in a loaded script, in Xcode, ApplescriptObjC? Basically, I have a global variable defined in my parent script using "property", and I need to modify objects connected to those variables inside of a loaded script.
    Example:
    Parent script:
    script AppDelegate
    property myTextField : missing value
    //linked to a text field object
    tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
    end script
    Loaded script:
    on myAwesomeHandler_()
    myTextField's setStringValue_("The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh")
    //changes value of linked text field of parent script
    end myAwesomeHandler_
    The problem is, the variable is undefined in the Loaded script, and I need it to have the same value as the parent script, and I don't want to pass the variable through the Handler. Any ideas?

    I think want you are looking to do will need to be done in two steps. Because myTextField needs to be a property for the ObjectiveC part of the code you cannot turn it into a global.
    However if you make a temporary variable global assign the string to it in the handler then set myTextField off of it.
    global myTextFieldGlobal
    script AppDelegate
    property myTextField : missing value
    //linked to a text field object
    tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
    myTextField's setStringValue_(myTextFieldGlobal)
    end script
    on myAwesomeHandler_()
    set myTextFieldGlobal to "The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh"
    //changes value of linked text field of parent script
    end myAwesomeHandler_
    I know you stated you did not want the handler to return a value but I have to ask why? Global's, imo, are not a good idea and really should be used as a last resort.
    One other possibility is to pass a reference to the property to the handler. Not sure if that works in AS of if that would satisfy our requirement of not passing the variable through the handler
    <edit>
    Another though have you tried to define the property outside the script?  That is
    property myTextField : missing value
    script AppDelegate
    Not sure if that will work.
    You might also want to have a look at Scope of Properties and Variables Declared in a Script Object

  • How to use a substitution variable in a load rule?

    I need to use a substitution variable in a load rule in a column, as I will receive a parameter to fix the Month and Year values within the data loading, could somebody tell me if this is possible. I put an expresion "&Yearproc" in the column value but it is not working.

    If you're a member of ODTUG (or even if not, you can sign up for an associate membership for free) you can download Glenn's presentation from 2009 Kaliedoscope "Little Used Features of Essbase (Like Data Mining and Triggers)" -- there is a section in that presentation on substitution variables -- he does a really good job in showing how this works.
    Go to: www.odtug.com, then Tech Resources, then Essbase/Hyperion, and search for Schwartzberg. Currently it's the ninth presentation on the list -- I think this changes based on popularity of downloads.

  • How to manage different load frequencies in OWB?

    How to manage different load frequencies in OWB?
    We are using OWB repository 10.2.0.1.0 and OWB client 10.2.0.1.31. The Oracle version is 10 G (10.2.0.3.0). OWB is installed on Linux.
    We have situation to bring data feed into database using OWB on different load frequency. Eg. Daily, weekly and monthly.
    Are there any builtin features/best approaches in OWB to implement the above?
    Does runtime audit tables maintain such load frequency data?
    If not, do we need to maintain our own tables (custom) to maintain such data?
    How do we able to validate before starting ETL process with respect to previous load frequency for current load?
    How did our forum members handled above situations?
    Any idea ?
    Thanks in advance.
    RI

    If you look at the OWB public function WB_RT_GET_LAST_EXECUTION_TIME you can examine the query OWB uses to return this information. It is based entirely on public views that you should already have synonyms for in your OWB user.
    Now, how you want to implement logic to determine if a mapping is run is entirely up to you If you are using process flows you could embed your call to start a mapping in a custom transformation that queries the repository and starts a given mapping if it deems the correct interval to have passed. We do something similar as a means to perform a process flow restart (it will skip over any successfully completed mappings from the last run if the last COMPLETE run did not finish succesfully), so that a restart picks up where the last run failed.
    The main caveat I would make to mining the runtime repository is that someone purging old data might very well purge the data you are depending on, so you might want to build a couple of tables to hold your own metadata for you. E.g. one table holding the mapping name and desired interval between loads, and another holding the mapping name and last run date. The second table could get updated by the post-mapping procedure of each mapping.
    Anyway, the data IS there in the repository. How you intend to access it or how much you are willing to trust its persistence is up to you.

  • How to manage a dynamic table

    Hi, i need some advice on how to manage a requirement i have.
    My application receives an uploaded CSV as input. I can easily model the content in an internal table, but the CSV has an arbitrary number of columns, with arbitrary names of the fields (the first line acts as a header, and contains labels) in no particular order.
    Since I'm really new to Web Dynpro, i'm wondering what's the most manageable way of storing the information in a central way, since the data contained needs to be used in many views, and other data needs to be extrapolated from it.
    Please consider that i'm a neophyte to Web Dynpro, so i'm not looking for the state-of-the-art solution, but the easiest to manage. So far I've thought of 3 ways:
    Dynamically create a node in the controller context, with the corresponding element representing a record and an attribute for each column.
    Create a class which encapsulates the internal table, which will be stored as an attribute. However i'm not sure if i can instantiate this class in the code of one controller, and reference it from anothere (besides, it violates MVC model, not that i really care tbh)
    Use the assistance class and do as in the previous point, since it is automatically instantiated at runtime and can be referenced in every point of the WD component, as far as i know
    Do you have any other advice? Do you recommend one of the above answers as the most manageable? I tried the first but it's so slow to code that i'm exploring the second option.
    Edited by: Giuseppe on Oct 11, 2010 2:23 PM

    Hi,
    I would suggest that you use assistance class, as this would be the most performance effecient way of achieveing the requirement. I would suggest you to define an attribute at class level and use it across views. I would also suggest if you are thinking of defining components for easy maitenance and reusability then go for global class. and then bring the reference of root context of various views to the class level and bind the data to those attributes and contexts.
    Now coming to the display of data :
    Since the number of columns is not known at design time you have to go for dynamic programming,
    But one thing which you could do is limit yourself to manipulate things at runtime. You could define minimum number of columns at design time which you expect from the excel and then take the reference of that table and then add columns accordingly, you also have scope while displaying the data that is how you pass the data from internal table to the context.

  • How to generate report with dynamic variable number of columns?

    How to generate report with dynamic variable number of columns?
    I need to generate a report with varying column names (state names) as follows:
    SELECT AK, AL, AR,... FROM States ;
    I get these column names from the result of another query.
    In order to clarify my question, Please consider following table:
    CREATE TABLE TIME_PERIODS (
    PERIOD     VARCHAR2 (50) PRIMARY KEY
    CREATE TABLE STATE_INCOME (
         NAME     VARCHAR2 (2),
         PERIOD     VARCHAR2 (50)     REFERENCES TIME_PERIODS (PERIOD) ,
         INCOME     NUMBER (12, 2)
    I like to generate a report as follows:
    AK CA DE FL ...
    PERIOD1 1222.23 2423.20 232.33 345.21
    PERIOD2
    PERIOD3
    Total 433242.23 56744.34 8872.21 2324.23 ...
    The TIME_PERIODS.Period and State.Name could change dynamically.
    So I can't specify the state name in Select query like
    SELECT AK, AL, AR,... FROM
    What is the best way to generate this report?

    Hi,
    Unfortunately I am not an expert in this area.
    I hope someone else can help you out though!
    However, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the main purpose of this forum is around the SAP Business One SDK - and so appears to be the main expertise of the people participating here...
    ...this might be one of the reasons why it happens that you don't get an answer top your posts sometimes...
    Therefore I would like to advise you to use the "Implementation" Forum in the CPSN (Channel Partners Solution Network) to ask your questions.
    I hope you get more answers there + quicker.
    Sorry & Thanks for understanding,
    Frank
