How to map operation subcontracting in a process order.

Dear Gurus,
How to map operation subcontracting in a process order.
there are five operations in a process after three operations the material is send to a subcontract for further processing(i.e the fourth) then it comes to the plant and the fifth operations completed
How can i map this process .
Thanking you in advance
Regards
Ram

Hi,
have you tried external operations in  receipe.  There you need to maintain all the procurement realted data for that particular operations that is done outside,  and system creates PR for every process order that you release.  However the material goes and comes in without any material number  (as WIP).
If you want to have more control,  create a part number before SC operations  and afer SCoperations   and then use subcontracting process in procurement.
The need determines which option you can go with.

  • How to Map Fomulas for Float Glass Process

    Hi All,
Can anybody suggest how to map formulas for float glass process.
As in float Glass process continuous production is going on single line, within that continuous ingredients are added in furnace and molten glass mass is coming out. this molten glass is now adjusted to particular thickness and then finally cut into specific sizes as per cusotmer requirment.
Final product is in various thickness, width and length.
    Entire process is automated.
If anybody already implemented same scenario, please share knowledge.

    Hi
The following is the mapping process and it is tricky process need to map carefully.
You can define this as a single formula.
Output: Packed - cut to size - Finished Good Item.
Input: All the Raw materials (Sand, Dolamite, Limestone, Soda Ash, Sodium Sulphate, Carbon, Iron Oxide)
Packaging materials + Labels + Boxes etc.
    Define Routing:
Resource: Furnace, Any other importance resource like Equipment that controls thickness, cutter etc, Labor, Associated Overhead
Create recipe using the formula and routing.
Various factors that can affect the mapping:
    1) Formula maintenance: You have to define formula for each output item.
    2) Possibility of dynamic determination of output item: If it is possible to produce different combination of thickness/width (and hence different FG item) in the same batch, then this won't be the right mapping.
    3) Process variations: Also formula mapping depends on how accurate is production process. If user wants to produce item X (say thickness 10mm) but due to quality issue produced item Y (say thickness 9mm) and such cases happens very often, this won't be right solution.
    4) Inventory measurement: This will determine the break-points. If you cannot measure the quantity (or even estimate) then you cannot define it as an intermediate item.
I will explain how point 4 can lead to different way of formula mapping.
Say you have a furnace that needs to run continuously for better quality or throughput. Hence you will be continuously adding raw materials to furnace and produce different outputs. You can break the single formula into multiple formulas as -
Formula 1) Output: Molten mass of glass
Input: All the Raw materials (Sand, Dolamite, Limestone, Soda Ash, Sodium Sulphate, Carbon, Iron Oxide)
Formula 2) Output: Packed - cut to size - Finished Good Item.
    Input: Molten mass of glass
To have formula in such fashion you should have a way to measure or estimate the weight of Molten mass of glass.
If you are estimating the weight, there should be historical data available to determine what should be realistic output quantity for given input quantity. How much will be process loss and loss due to unwanted by product such as slag etc.
Further you can break formula 2 as
Output: One large sheet of give thickness
    Input: Molten mass of glass
Output: Packed - cut to size - Finished Good Item.
Input: The large sheet of give thickness.
This kind of different mapping is possible which normally depends on:
    1) Complexity of process
    2) How complex BOM structure user wants to have
    3) Are there any benefits of maintaining such complex system - like accurate costing or accurate production monitoring or facilitating planning process.
    4) Can user maintain the complex system? Are they ready to capture data at finer level. Is it possible to capture the data.
    5) And most important thing is how to handle exceptions. If every thing goes smoothly as planned (less exceptions) then user can have and afford any level of complexity. But if there are many exceptions to the normal process you have to concentrate more on how to handle the exceptions.
    6) Satisfy all users: Accounting, Planning, Production, Quality, Inventory handling. Formula/Recipe touches all these modules.

  • IST OPERATION SUBCONTRACTED WITH REFERENCE TO ORDER

    Hello SAP Experts,
i am doing operation subcontractiing. My first operation is subcontracted. So, I have assigned PP02 control key to first operation  and maintained external processing data for opration in routing. When i saved the order, for that operation PR gets generated.
Now, I converted PR into PO and assigned raw material that has to be send to vendor. By 541 mvt. type material is issued to vendor. When i do goods receipt in MIGO, system is not showing storage location field. I dont find material in stock anywhere.
But i can see quantity received in external processing tab of first operation in routing overveiw in order.HERE P.O is generated with reference to order.& it is in cost center.while confirming the second operation system will ask for storage location of material received from vendor.it ie not seen in mmbe.iam creating new code and it is assigned to second operation .
Then how can i issue the material from storage for second operation if it is not in stock?
How can i get stock of subcontracted material by MIGO?
    Please help me.
    regards,
    RAHUL

    Hi!,
When you say operation subcontracting, in SAP it is considered as a service you are recieving and hence there is no material movement involved in that because you are sending a WIP material and recieving a WIP material back. But as per indian requirements whenever a material is sent out side the factory premises, you need to send a challan alongwith that. To print a challan you need to have a material movement. This movement (541) happens in normal material subcontracting but not in operation subcontracting. To generate a material doc, you can send the raw material with 541 movement but on GR of the processed material just reverse that movement so that raw material will again come in the stock. Then issue that raw material on order with 261 movement.
I hope this will help in resolving your problem.

    Uday

  • How to map values between Contract and Purchase Order...

    Hi friends,
We are using SRM 5.0 (ECS). I am facing a problem with Purchase Order.
. I am creating Contract locally through Live Auction. After that I am creating Purchase Order through Live Auction. So in Purchase Order Quantity, Net Price, Gross Price, and Long Text etc. not coming which is defined in Contract.  PO capturing the values from Live Auction, means no relation between the Contract and Purchase Order. After making Contract again I have to changes in the Purchase Order.
So how to map the values from Contract to PO in SRM?  I want to map between contract and Purchase Order like R/3. At the time of creation of PO ( in R/3 )  we can adopt the Contract so all the relevant values comes from Contract to PO. In SRM how will I do?
    Please suggest me.

When you create PO and a contract from a Live Auciton, they will not be mapped.
While creating a PO (BBP_POC - Process Purchase Order); in the PO line item assign the contract and item reference. Only then they will be linked.
    Hope this helps.

  • Attaching Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in Process Order

    Hi All,
How "Standard Operating Procedure" sheet attached into each and every process order, and also we have to restrict the release of process order which doesn't have this SOP attachment? Each and every in-house material has SOP with huge characteristic & Parameter data. How come achieve this, what is the best practice/procedure? Is this maintain through PI sheet or any other procedure along with PI sheet? Please suggest.
    Thanks

    Hi Anupam sharma,
Thanks for your reply. Can we use the document creation (CV01N) functionality without implementing DMS? Our requirement is each and every in-house produced material having SOP sheet which is contain lot of parameters as well as having instruction (long text). We are currently maintain as an excel sheet. We have to attach each file against each material and it should be attached with PI sheet. Let us know the possibility, 2 cases we have planned to try,
    1. No input parameter value, all are having static value and instruction (attached with each and every process order as an PI sheet)
    2. Need to input value for some of the parameters along with some instruction steps (Long text)
How the below functionality will help us to meet the requirement?
Displaying of Documents From Document Management System - Process Management (PP-PI-PMA) - SAP Library
How to attach a file against each and every material, where these file will stored? Please suggest us with some more information
    Thanks

  • How To Reverse Excess Confirmed Quantity in Process Order?

    Hi Experts,
    Good day!
I have a Process Order with Total Quantity of 68,180 L which currently have  a status of TECO CNF  DLV  PRC  BASC BCRQ GMPS MACM*. I made my first partial confirmation with a quantity of 1,000 L for my Finished Good u2013 this is a confirmation with automatic goods receipt. Then I mistakenly made my Final Confirmation for this order with a quantity of 71,125 L for my Finished Good. I only noticed that my last confirmation was incorrect after the Finished Good in Stock has been depleted already. The 101 movement for the Finished Good that was posted during my final confirmation was not reversed anymore when I canceled my confirmation in CORS. I tried to reverse using a 102 movement type for this order in MB31 however it didnu2019t allow me to proceed and gave me an error said u201Cdeficit of .....in Unrestricted useu201D.
Currently my Process Order has a total Delivered Quantity of 72,125 L which is much greater than the required total order quantity of 68,180 L.
Anybody knows how to reverse this excess confirmed quantity? Your response is much appreciated.
    Thanks. Have a wondeful day!
    Rockz

    Hi Rockz,
You mean you made Good Receipt (confirmation) excess 3,945L .
Right now, you want to cancel only 3,945L.
As you said, FG already depleted.
If have no quantity in unrestricted Use, how can we make good movement(102) (because error:u201Cdeficit of .....in Unrestricted useu201D occur when you do TCode MB31 for 102)
If you want to cancel 3,945L, first, you must reverse that Batch of FG 3,945L to Unrestricted use (MMBE to check stock), then you use the TCode MB31 with movement 102 for reverse FG excess, if this finish, quantity in delivery of Process Order will be subtract 3,945L.
(reverse that Batch of FG 3,945L to Unrestricted use ,mean is  the Batch of FG which you depleted for somethings like fill to bottle....)
    Regard,
    DiepNguyen.

    Hi,
You can the below standardreports for knowing the list of Settled Process Orders :
    1. Use Tcode : COOIS and in the selection fields provide the Process Order Type, Plant and System Status As " SETT" and execute the same . System will list all the Process Orders which were settled so far.
    2. Use Tcode : CO26 with selection fields as above.
Hope this will suffice your reqt.

  • How to map different Retail store business processes in SAP

    Hi
In our stores( Retail Business) there are two sales sections, In the first section we have Point  of Sales systems, here we placed our materials in racks, after confirming and creating sales order customer collects pick list and goes to the location to pick the products. Here customer Invoice will be created before delivery.
In second sales section normally order fulfillment will take place. Customer visit this section and select products and places an order. But the delivery will be at a later date. We receive some down payment from customer and we create sales order with scheduled delivery. while delivering the products we create delivery note and it will be sent to customer, Our driver will carry the delivery note along with products to the customer and take customer signature on the delivery note. In this second process we are creating Invoice after delivery only.
Could any body suggest me how can we map these two processes in SAP?
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

  • Issue in mapping Operation subcontracting scenario

    Hi all,
I will explain my scenario of subcontracting, i am getting issue when mapping the scenario in SAP.
Scenario: For manufasturing 1 SF my client require 4 operations. All the raw materials required will be issued in the first operation. After first operation he will send the product manufactured to outside vendor and again he receives it after some value additiion. He continues the next two steps and finally manufactures SF which inturn will be used to manufacture his FG.
Configuration: I have assigned a purchase info record in the operation detail. I have not given any WC to that operation because the cost should be captured only from the purchase order during the GR from vendor. After the confirmation of the first operation i am getting a purchase requisition for operation without a material.
Issue: I am not able to show the material which he is sending to the vendor as my purchase requisition doesnot contain any materials.
Please suggest me any possible solution to outcome this scenario.
    Thanx in advance

    hi PP-Pi gru,
when i am creating process order from planed order , operation ( master recipe) does not fetch in process order..only take default operation 10, kindly suggest me how all operation will fetch in process order
another mater is when assign production profile  in  t- code CORU show the error massage  " production scheduling profile for plant ALIV,order type does not exist"...but we have used stander order type PI01..kindly suggest me
    Rogers
    Aqueel

    Hi,
Check In master Recipe ,in the PI Tab,There must be some PI category is assigned and in that PI Category, this PI Charactiristic has been assigned.
First goto that Phase of the Master Recipe and then goto PI tab and then find the PI category.
You need to define production scheduling profile for your plant in OPKP which is assign to order type dependent parameter  COR4 In planning screen. Please check. Also check the work scheduling view of material master.

  • Operation subcontracting in REM

    Hi Experts,
Can we map operation subcontracting in REM.  please help me out in mapping this as i know that we cant do in REM, But client is asking to do that.
I m working with MTS REM. Please help.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hi,
    Check the following :
    1. REM profile in Material master MRP4 view.
    2. Control key in the routing/rate routing.
Both must match i.e if U have specified reporting point in the REM profile & not done so in the control key or vice versa, this error will appear.
The milestone is defined in the control key in the routing. Go to the operations tab in routing. Click on the control key field. U will find a host of std control keys.
Click on any std. control key say PP01.
    Click on "detailed information".
In that U will see a field "confirmation". There U will find '1' - Milestone confirmation. This is another name for reporting point confirmation.
U must specify this 1 in Ur control key.
U can choose any of the std. keys or otherwise, create Ur own control key.
    Please check and confirm.
    Thanks and Regards
