How to monitor port 1935
Hello all, my first post so be gentle please.... Our web
developers are using a flash media server, version 3 i think. They
are using RTMPE to deliver videos on demand... I need to be able to
monitor this server so if it dies or stops responding to stream
requests, i need to know about it... Now i use Nagios to monitor
other stuff like, ping, HTTP, FTP, ect... How would i monitor the
server application port(1935) itself, as i am sure its possible for
the application to die but the server still be pingable...??
Any ideas?
Thanks..

You have two options:
Use FMSCheck:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flashmediaserver/3.0/docs/help.html?content=06_admintasks_07.htm l
Or
getServerStats()
http://livedocs.adobe.com/fms/2/docs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDoc s_Parts&file=00000887.html
The first one can connect directly to the Server instance,
while the latter connects to the FMS Admin server.

How to Monitor CTI Ports in CUCM
Hi,
I have got two IP IVR Servers one with 150 ports and another with 6 ports in Active/Backup style.
I need to monitor how many CTI Ports are used and how many are free and make a trent report for further analysis of traffic.
can someone guide me how to achieve that?
Thanks,
Gautam GandhiHi Leosalcie,
I am trying to do the same monitoring, and I have the follow question:
What is APPID? I follow the procedure using RTMT and the program request to me following information, after I marked the APPID:
Specific Application Id, Wildchar at being or end, Comma separated addresses
Thanks,

How many monitors can you use on a new imac with GEForce 780m?
My husband bought a new 27" iMac with the optional GEForce 780m with 4 gig of video ram. He wants to know how many monitors he can run simultaneously, and at what resolutions. He would obviously be using the Thunderbolt ports to do this. I thought this information should be easily found in the technical specs for either the iMac or the video card itself on the NVidia site, but it is not.
Catherine Gramze wrote:
Ok, rkaufman. Can he use two 4k monitors in addition to his iMac display? He wants to know what his options are in terms of number of monitors and the resolution. Yes, I know which monitor you buy will be the limiting factor for the actual display, but he has not yet purchased these additional monitors. If thunderbolt allows him to run 3840x2160, how many of them can he run at once at 32 bpp? How many if he chooses 2560x1600 instead?
To be honest I don't know how many Thunderbolt displays he can run, I would STRONGLY recommend contacting Apple to ask. You can ask the online store (phone number is in upper right of it's home page) or if you have an Apple Store in your area, making an appointment with a business specialist and asking that question. -

Connection error on FMS3: port 1935
Hi,
I went through this tutorial (very nice and easy):
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/webcasting_fme_print.html
Got most done and working (can preview my stream in flash
pro), however i got an error when viewing in my published .swf.
This connection error : can't connect internet...
rtmp://localhost:1935/myLiveApp/instance1/mylivestream
Looks like i need to open my port 1935....but i'm not sure
how...
I tried to open my router setup page, ->virtual server
-> TCP or UNP (something i forget exact name) -> open 1935
But still not working....
Please help!!The 1935 port is opened by default after FMS installation.
Check if the FMS service is "started".
To view the opened ports on your computer use "netstat -an"
from the command line -
Catalyst 2950 Series - Monitoring Port
Do the catalyst 2950 series have a port that can be used to connect a device that is designed to monitor all traffic on the switch - we are looking to install Webspy to track network & internet usage. The Sentinal product would best be connected to the switch where it can record all traffic - it needs a monitor port or some such equivalent.
Hi,
The 2950 does indeed support that - the functionality is called Switch Port Analyzer (SPAN). The following link has details on how to configure it:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00800d84c5.html
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

How many usb ports (if any) does the 30 inch display have?
I am getting the new mac pro I know apple is going to kill the 30 inch display but as they have not done so yet I was wandering how many usb ports does it have?
Hi macnewcomer22,
Instead of buying the Apple 30" Cinema Display, for not much more you could buy the NEC Multisync 3090WQXi, which incorporates later technology and was awarded Best in Show at MacWorld.
The Apple 30" is a good display, but the technology is about 5 years old, and later models from other manufacturers, noticeably NEC, have surpassed it:
http://macperformanceguide.com/RecommendedDisplays.html
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/monitors/242010/nec-multisync-lcd3090wqxi
I purchased the standard Multisync version, without the Spectraview II software, in July 2009, and I have found it to be excellent in all respects:
http://www.nec-display-solutions.co.uk/p/uk/en/products/details/dp/Products/LCD/ Current/LCD-3090WQXi/LCD-3090WQXi.xhtml?e=e1s1
Although most resellers only stock the 3090WQXi in black, it is also available in a silver finish, which looks great alongside a Mac Pro.

How to monitor service failover in RAC?
Ok, I'm sure I'm being thick here, but i've been looking all morning and I can't figure out how to monitor when a service fails over from a preferred to available node.
I can't see any way to do it in OEM, and nor can I work out if it's supported by FAN
Does anyone have any suggestions before I start screaming/clawing at the screen?
Thanks

One of your users are using FAILOVER cause values SELECT and BASIC on query output. Another users connected on that moment no able to use FAILOVER probably caused by misconfigured TNSNAMES.ora file. Check it on client or apps server machines.

How to monitor a specific transaction in Solution Manager ?
Hi all,
I have configured the Service Level Reporting and it works correctly.
But i don't know how to monitor a specific transaction like SM21, DB02, FB01N etc... ?
In the SL Reports configuration steps, we can configure this option : Select Business Processes For SL Report. I did a lot of tests but it does not work.
Have i to configure the Business Process Monitoring ?
Thanks.Hello,
it depends a little on what you want to do. If you use the pure CCMS monitoring with the table ALTRAMONI you get average response time per instance and you only get new measurements once the status changes from green to yellow or red.
In order to get continuous measurements you should look into Business Process Monitoring and the different documentations under https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Libary --> Technical Information. E.g. the PDF Setup Guide for Application Monitoring describes this "newer" dialog performance monitor. Probably you have to click on the calendar sheet in the Media Libary to also see older documents as well. As the Business Process Monitoring integrates with BW (there is also a BI Setup Guide in the Media LIbrary) you can get trendlines there. This BW integration also integrates back with SL Reporting.
Some guidance for SL Reporting is probably given under https://service.sap.com/rkt-solman but I am not 100% sure.

How to find port number , when there will be different instance number ?
In case of portal url,
port number is 50000 for default instance number 00.
how to find port number , when there will be different instance number , instead of 00?
ThanksHi
You can find the port number by your instance number as follows:
There is a general format for the port number like you have mentioned.
For 00 instance the port number is 50000.
The general format for the port number goes like this:
<b>5<instance_no>00</b>
If your <b>instance number is 01</b> then the port number would be <b>50100</b>.
It depends on the installation type which you perform.
You can also change the instance number during the installation but normally you dont do this.
If you have many components or units installed on your system you may have more than one instance in that case it may go like this 00, 01, 02....accordingly port number will be 50000, 50100, 50200...resp.
Hope this solves your doubt.
If you need some more clarification please lemme know.

How can I do that? If anybody has come across the same requirement pls explain me with the implementation details.Hello,
I have done that in a project (not Portal, but pure Java Application, should be no difference), working fine.
The steps are as follows:
- create MBean Server (e.g. MBeanServerFactory.createMBeanServer("test");)
- create your MBeans
- make them accessible to clients (register the MBeans in the server)
- query them from clients
see http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/jmx.html
for very good explanation including sample source code.

How to monitor OSD TS failure and get alert or report?
How to monitor OSD TS failure and get some alert or generate an report?
We have SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 with MDT 2013.
I have checked the OSD reports in SCCM and everyone is emty, where do SCCM get data to the what to activate?
(I thinking of "Task Sequence - Deployment Status" reports)
I am not sure people read report manually or lock at the MDT monitor view. So best I think that generate an email or incident in Service Manager when an TS fails.
We do have SCOM, SCSM, SCO.
Is there anyone that can point what way or what option I have?
/SaiTechSpecifically you could use this Status Message Query syntax to monitor your Task Sequences for errors:
select stat.*, ins.*, att1.*, att1.AttributeTime from SMS_StatusMessage as stat left join SMS_StatMsgInsStrings as ins on stat.RecordID = ins.RecordID left join SMS_StatMsgAttributes as att1 on stat.RecordID = att1.RecordID inner join SMS_StatMsgAttributes
as att2 on stat.RecordID = att2.RecordID where att2.AttributeID = 401 and att2.AttributeValue = "DOJ200A1" and stat.SiteCode = "DOJ" and att2.AttributeTime >= ##PRM:SMS_StatMsgAttributes.AttributeTime## order by att1.AttributeTime desc
Just replace DOJ200A1 with the Deployment ID of your Task Sequence and DOJ with your SiteCode.
If you want to generate an alert if the TS fails then you could run a script that calls a utility (or similar) which sends a pre-configured email to a specified address (as an alternative to Torten's response). This could be placed in the built in error
logging section of the SCCM integrated MDT Task Sequence when it fails which I assume you are using (right at the bottom, called Gather Logs and StateStore on failure).
There are heaps of ways of generating an email from a TS and controlling error logging just do a search - as you have Service Manager you could even use your instance of Orchestrator and call a run book in your TS which does the email?
Cheers

How can I port my library from one pc to another?
How can I port my music library from my pc to my new windows tablet?
theres are three ways
clicking on music in itunes, hitting control A on the keyboard to select all on the main list of all songs and then dragging them to an external hard drive. and then dragging them from the external hard drive to your other itunes computer.
im not sure if that works on windows. i know it works on mac
second way is to find the directory of itunes library and copying that to a external hard drive and then going to your otther computer and clicking on "import library" and giving the location of the directory on the external hard drive
third way is enable home sharing on both computers , by clicking on file, librsry, turn on home sharing and entering your apple id this wil let you go to the itunes server from the other computer, let you select all songs and then import them to your library via your home network . again im not sure if this works on windows, but it does on macs
if i remember right the first way was faster. the second way would also import all your videos and movies and tv shows too
if you use the first or second methods make sure to click on file , organize library, consolodate library after the songs are copied to make sure they were actualy copied from the external drive. if the library is not organized and consolidated, thte songs will not be available if you eject the external drive -
