How to open a active dataguard?

Hello,
I have an Active DataGuard, Oracle version 11.2.0.3 and Solaris 10.
I have to do a test on the Active DataGuard environment, I want to open this database to run multiple scripts DML. At the end I must return to the DataGuard active as it was before the opening to continue with normal operation.
I appreciate the document indicate commands or procedure I should run to do this activity.
regards,
Milton

Hello;
SQL> SELECT database_role, open_mode FROM v$database;
SQL> alter database recover managed standby database cancel;
SQL> alter database open;
SQL> alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;
SQL> select process,status,sequence# from v$managed_standby;
If you have Data Guard Broker setup then
DGMGRL > edit database physt set state=apply-off;
SYS@physt > alter database open read only;
DGMGRL > edit database physt set state=apply-on;Best Regards

  • How do I open an active iWeb built website in iWeb installed on new computer

    Purchased a new MacBook Pro, I installed iWeb 3.0.4 but cannot figure out how to import my active websites files. I did some research yet (as far as I can tell) nothing pertains to working with a computer running 10.9.3.
    I started to follow instruction which used AppleScript Editor but there aren't the fields mentioned in the instructions available in my version of AppleScript.

    If you have problems opening the Domain file with iWeb the following may help:
    To open your domain file in Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
    do shell script"/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"
    delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
    Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
    WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
    NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible in Lion or Mt. Lion enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    For Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Optionsmenu to bring the this window:

    Does anybody know if it is possible to open an activity directly via parameters with WEBGUI in CRM ?
    Thanks Gerd

  • Active dataguard internals

    Hi All,
    Can any one provide me a link or tell me, which is the underlying technology on which the active dataguard works?
    I mean the details functioning of how active dataguard lets us put the database in read only mode and also keeps the standby database in sync with the Prod.
    I know this is a kind of doc question but I did look for it in the docs but I couldnt get what I was looking for.
    Regards,
    Sphinx

    Hi Sphinx,
    In 11g the standby database is also called active standby database, coz you can read the database(ie, you can query using select statement) and at same time log shipping also will occur. Flashback database feature is must and should be enabled at both primary and standby databases, So that you can open the standby database in read/write mode which is called snapshot standby database. The reason is , when you open the standby database in read/write mode, it will create a snapshot(restore point) at that state using the flashback  what you have enabled. when the snapshot is again converted to active standby (read/log apply), the standby database will be restored using the restore point what its create at the time snapshot standby. So both Active standby and flashback database feature tightly coupled to give us a great option to work with.
    Hope this helps.

    Pradeep. V

  • Starup of active dataguard in RAC

    Hi,
    i have a setup of active dataguard in RAC. This is my first time implementing dataguard in RAC.
    Primary - RAC
    Standby - RAC with active dataguard
    when ever standby server(anyone of the RAC instance) reboots it is getting till mount state. And after that how can i get the database be opened and put in recovery mode to do redo apply.
    I tried to push manual script as a startup script . Intially i kept sleep command for 15-20min and then connect to db instance and try to recovery from mounted database. But my mounted database is taking 15-30min to comeup once the server is rebooted.
    please help me how we configure startup statements once the RAC is in mount state(cluster is getting till this point) after server reboot.

    Hello;
    If you are not using Data Guard Broker you need to open the standby database and set it in read only mode and then start the managed recovery as shown below.
    SQL> shutdown immediate;
    SQL> startup
    SQL> recover managed standby database using current logfile disconnect;
    With broker its like this :
    Stop redo apply with the following command from Data Guard Broker
    DGMGRL> EDIT DATABASE '?' SET STATE='APPLY-OFF';
    Open standby read-only via SQL*Plus
    SQL> alter database open read only;
    Restart redo apply via broker
    DGMGRL> EDIT DATABASE '?' SET STATE='APPLY-ON';
    Best Regards

  • How to open and navigate between human task forms in a same page?

    Hi
    I use Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5
    I have a question about taskflows in BPM Application.
    In ADF web application, I create a sipmle task flow and insert view id and bind these to jspx pages, my pages are opend in same page when
    return an outcome.
    For exapmle I have three pages like A,B,C.
    In task flow, insert three view ids and bind to A,B,C.
    My first pages is A, and when outcome is B navigate to B, when my outcome is C then navigate to C in a same page not separate pages.
    But my problem is here.. in BPM Application when create task forms, every task has a separate task flow that there exist a single view id and a wild card flow in it.
    In BPM workspace when initiate human task form is closed, I should press refresh button to see next human task form in task list table.
    I tried to create a simple task flow and insert human task forms in it and navigate between these.. but show human task form in wrong display and don`t show some component and human task payload.
    Now, my question : How to open and navigate between human task forms in a same page like software installation?

    Having a separate Data Control for each human task is normally the case. There is a way to assign multiple human tasks to a single data control (and one task flow), but I don't think that this is going to help you with what I think you're trying to do.
    If your human task is called "EmployeeDetail", then you'd use the data control associated with this for the UI pages in the task flow diagram that is associated with this human task. For example, you might have a first page that has just the basic employee information - the fields (at least the ID field) would come from the EmployeeDetail data control. When the end user clicks "Next", you might have this UI page flow to a second UI page in the task flow diagram that has the employee's address information. You might place the address fields from the EmployeeDetail data control onto this second UI page.
    You might be asking how the work item instance can automatically flow to the next interactive activity in the process while staying inside the first interactive activity's human task's task flow diagram. This is not how it works - the task flow diagram models the end user interaction while inside a single human task that is tied to a specific interactive activity in the process. If you want a the end user to be able to move the instance through multiple interactive activities in the process in one interaction, look at "Activity Guides". Activity Guides do a nice job of this.

  • Hide fields for activities when they are opened via Activity Monitor

    Hi,
    In CRM 5.0, my requirement was to hide a number of fields from activity display via transaction CRMD_ORDER & CIC0 (SAPGUI based transactions). I achieved it by using screen variant. I assigned my screen variant to different transactions (CRMD_ORDER, CIC0 etc.), and things were working fine.
    But when I open activity monitoring report (transaction S_AE2_89000019), search for some activities and open an activity by double-clicking in the report, the hidden fields become visible. Although, the transaction being displayed in CRMD_ORDER.
    I couldn't enable my transaction variant for transaction S_AE2_89000019, obviously because this is a report transaction which in turn opens activity when we double-click on the grid.
    Any idea how to avoid these hidden fields being displayed via S_AE2_89000019?
    Regards,
    Kaushal

    Hey Kaushal,
    Let me first inform you the following:
    1) Transaction Variant are associatated to Dialog transactions only......Which means when u call report which eventually refers the same transaction even then the transaction variants is not called....
    For the whole transaction variant to workout, you need CALL transaction "  ..."....
    2) The transaction S_AE2_89000019 is not a dialog transaction, its a parameter transaction which eventually calls a report AQZZ/SAPQUERY/SMCRM_REP_ACT1==
    3)This report in turn uses the call to FM CRM_1O_CALL_FOREIGN which launches that crmd_order transaction screen  and not crmd_order transaction..
    You can enchance that report by creating a z report and inside that z report you can fulfill your requirement..
    Inspire ppl by reqwarding..
    Regards,
    Anand...

  • How can we achive active/active cluster setup with Oracle

    Hi Experts,
    How can we achieve active/active database setup with oracle WITHOUT USING RAC.. As far as I know it's impossible (unless I'm wrong)..
    We are using Oracle 11.2.0.1 64bit on Windows 2008 server. We deployed Oracle FailSafe but that's more of an active/passive solution based on a windows cluster.
    The other solution we were thinking about is to use DataGuard and replication.. two servers.. the oracle instance running on one server generating logs, and the other server receive the logs and apply them to the physical standby db.. Still, this is not a real active/active setup.
    So, is it possible to run 2 servers in an active/active cluster and have the oracle database in an active/active setup or have the instance running on multiple nodes (at the same time)?
    Thanks

    Let me give you a brief explanation of what the situation is and you can be the judge..
    My client have four databases with the smallest one being 20GB and the biggest around the 35gb (SGA 750mb to 1.4gb (Tiny by DB standards) and probably on a normal day, you can run all four of them on a decent desktop).. The DBs are used to keep track of people information. Through out the year, the databases are almost sitting idle, and by idle I mean, the odd update here and there, the odd report..etc. No hard real processing of any sort. Two days of the year (end of year) we have all the operators consolidating records and what's not and they will be pounding away entering data and updating the tables - with hourly reports that goes to 3rd parties. The client expects a 99.99 up time and availability during those 2 days.
    Now, tell me, How can I justify using RAC and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in licensing and what ever extra costs introduced by the complexity of the environment for the above scenario knowing that I don't have any real use for RAC for 363 days of the year; and we MIGHT need it for 2 days of the year? This is the dilemma we're facing.
    Thanks

    But confused about Why there could sudden spike of demand on UNDO data in Active Data Guard ? Could any one please shed some lights on finding the reason for this issue ?It's been interesting, The job runs only on ADG?
    Even it is only reporting purposes, Which runs only select statements. Are you sure that issue is only because of this job?
    Moreover am interested to know, How you able to monitor at the same time? Using EM?
    What all are the jobs ran on primary at the same time?
    Then, is it possible to run the job on primary and see whats the response?
    I suggest you to run the same job again on standby and see the ET of the job and also gather the statspack to check whether you got same buffer busy waits or not.
    What storage you are using for primary and standby? In terms of I/O and performance all are same?
    You got chance to take statspack even on primary database?
    What are the parameters differ in primary and standby?
    Also check this note, Heresome work around provided.

  • How to open Camera Raw in Bridge, it comes up with the following error

    How to open Camera Raw in Bridge, it comes up with the following error Bridge parent application is not Active   Bridge requires that a qualifing product has been lanched at least once to enable this feature.  It opens in Photoshop CS6 & Elements 10 but not Bridge?

    You need to look at all programs in your uninstall list, and see if you spot any old trials that are no longer active.
    Camera Raw in Bridge and PS are the same program, so its not the program but access.  Would have been nice it you had stated OS, but here are locatons of camera raw for both OS.

  • My Active dataguard is not applying archives.

    Dears,
    Following is my setup
    =====================
    Primary:
    prod on RAC with 2 nodes
    Database : Oracle 11.2.0.3
    OS OEL 5.7
    storage : ASM
    +DATADG
    +FLASHDG
    Standby:
    sync on single node
    Database : Oracle 11.2.0.3
    storage : ASM
    +DATADG
    +FLASHDG
    I've configured Active dataguard successfully and was able to apply archivelogs successfully instantly.
    Archive log locations are +FLASHDG/prod/ARCHIVELOG/ AND /u02/arch  --- on primary
    Archive log locations are +FLASHDG/stby/ARCHIVELOG/ AND /u02/arch  --- on standby
    On Standby
    ===========
    SQL> select 'Using Active Data Guard' ADG from v$managed_standby m,v$database d where m.process like 'MRP%' ;
    ADG
    Using Active Data Guard
    SQL> select open_mode,database_role,PROTECTION_MODE,PROTECTION_LEVEL from v$database;
    OPEN_MODE DATABASE_ROLE PROTECTION_MODE PROTECTION_LEVEL
    READ ONLY WITH APPLY PHYSICAL STANDBY MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE
    SQL>
    Upto now everything is ok, means same data is sync on primary and standby. As my archive location was getting full, i've used this SQL query to clean them
    SELECT 'alter diskgroup '||dg.name||' drop file
    ''+'||dg.name||''||SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH(al.name,'/')||''';'
    FROM v$asm_alias al, v$asm_file fi, v$asm_diskgroup dg
    WHERE al.file_number = fi.file_number(+)
    AND al.group_number = dg.group_number
    AND fi.type = 'ARCHIVELOG'
    START WITH alias_index = 0
    CONNECT BY PRIOR al.reference_index = al.parent_index;
    SELECT 'alter diskgroup '||dg.name||' drop file
    ''+'||dg.name||''||SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH(al.name,'/')||''';'
    FROM v$asm_alias al, v$asm_file fi, v$asm_diskgroup dg
    WHERE al.file_number = fi.file_number(+)
    AND al.group_number = dg.group_number
    AND fi.type = 'BACKUPSET'
    START WITH alias_index = 0
    CONNECT BY PRIOR al.reference_index = al.parent_index;
    In order to delete ARCHIVE logs which are stored in ASM FLASHDG, which will have a type of "ARCHIVELOG" and "BACKUPSET" i've used this above two queries.
    After performing this steps , my Active dataguard is not applying archives.
    On the primary server, check the latest archived redo log
