How to parse Double to Integer Type?

Dear all,
I have a question in Java programming. How to change the variable of Double type into Integer Type? Is there any class that I should import in the Program?
thanks.

Double d = new Double(2.0);
Integer i = new Integer(d.intValue()));

  • How to parse an PL/SQL type to XML format in ORACLE8

    I've got a PL/SQL type ( table/records/...) and I want to set it to XML format :
    I've got
    TYPE return_row IS record (
    value_1 NUMBER(2),
    value_2 VARCHAR2(30));
    TYPE return_test IS TABLE OF return_row
    INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
    VARCHAR2 XMLformat;
    And I want to set into XMLformat the value of return_test parsed to XML.

    I only
    need to know how to change a inputstream (instance of
    an online xml file) to a Node. If your want to create a Node, maybe you're thinking DOM (as apposed to SAX) and you should take a look at the API for:
    - DocumentBuilderFactory
    - DocumentBuilder
    and the
    Document parse(...)
    method family. They all return a Document, which is a type of Node.

    Hi,
    Try this.
    WRITE: A no-zero ,

  • DBMS_SQL.PARSE with PL/SQL types

    Hi
    I need to use DBMS_SQL.PARSE with PL/SQL types defined in a package.
    I tried with a type record in a declare ..begin..end  script but I got an error ..(on second parameter):
    DBMS_SQL.PARSE(cursor_name, XXXXX, DBMS_SQL.NATIVE);
    It's possible?
    WIth SQL types defined at schema level it's works (es. Objects types) .
    If it's not possible, how can I resolve?

    Again, please post what XXXXX is. In order to use package declared types:

        this.serviceInfo = serviceInfo;
    I am able to do parsing for my simple type but when a complex type comes I am not able to do it. So please suggest how I can add complex type

    I suppose the posting of xsd is to show the structure of the xml...
    In any case, I can suggest a couple of things to do for the purpose.
    [1] If you still follow the same line of reasoning using some boolean like bDisplayLineNumber etc to identify the position of the parser traversing the document, you can complete the logic adding bItem (which you did not need under simplified consideration) and bService and bSubscriptionBand to identify at the parent or the grandparent in the case of the "complexType" serviceInfo and even the great-grand-parent in the case of arriving to the complexType subscriptionBandInfo...
    [1.1] With those boolean value, you determine bDisplayLineNumber etc under item directly, and then as well say bDisplayLineNumber_Service under the service etc and then bMin_SubscriptionBand etc under subscriptionBand etc. You just expand the number of those variables to trigger the setting of those fields in the object product, service in the serviceList and subscriptionBand in the subscriptionBandList etc etc.
    [1.2] All the reset of those booleans should be done in the endElement() method rather than in characters() method. That is logically more satisfactory and has a bearing in case there is a mixed content type.
    [1.3] Then when arriving at startElement of service, you make sure you initiate the serviceList, same for subscriptionBand the subscriptionList...
    [1.4] Then when arriving at endElement of service, you use setServiceInfo() setter to pass the serviceList to product and the same when arriving at endElement of serviceBand, you use setSubscriptionBand() setter to pass the subscriptionBand to service.
    ... and then basically that's is it, somewhat laborious and repetitive but the logical layout is clear. (As a side-note, you shouldn't use equalsIgnoreCase(), why should you? xml is case sensitive.)
    [2] Actually, I would suggest a much neater approach, especially when you probe many more levels of complexType. It would be even appear cleaner when you have two levels of depth already...
    [2.1] You maintain a Stack (or an implementation class of Deque, but Stack is largely sufficient here) of element name to guide the parser identifying its whereabout. By such doing, you get ride of all those bXXX's.
    This is a rewrite of the content handler using this approach and I only write the code of capturing service. Adding serviceBand is a matter of repetition of how it is done on service. And it is already clear it appears a lot neater as far as I'm concerned.
    public class ProductHandler extends DefaultHandler {
    Stack<String> tagstack=new Stack<String>();
    private List<ProductInfo> productList = null;
    private ProductInfo product = null;
    private List<ServiceInfo> serviceList=null;
    private ServiceInfo service=null;
    public List<ProductInfo> getProductList() {
      return productList;
    public List<ServiceInfo> getServiceList() {
      return serviceList;
    @Override
    public void startElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes attributes) {
      if (qName.equals("item")) {
       product = new ProductInfo();
       //initialize list
       if (productList == null) {
        productList = new ArrayList<ProductInfo>();
      } else if (qName.equals("service") && tagstack.peek().equals("item")) {
       service=new ServiceInfo();
       if (serviceList==null) {
        serviceList=new ArrayList<ServiceInfo>();
      tagstack.push(qName);
    @Override
    public void endElement(String uri, String localName, String qName) {
      if (tagstack.peek().equals("item")) {
       //add ProductInfo object to list
       productList.add(product);
      } else if (tagstack.peek().equals("service") && tagstack.search("item")==2) {
       serviceList.add(service);
       product.setServiceInfo(serviceList);
      tagstack.pop();
    @Override
    public void characters(char ch[], int start, int length) throws SAXException {
      String currentName=tagstack.peek();
      int itemPos=tagstack.search("item");
      int servicePos=tagstack.search("service");
      if (currentName.equals("name") && itemPos==2)  {
       product.setName(new String(ch, start, length));
      } else if (currentName.equals("displayLineNumber") && itemPos==2) {
       product.setDisplayLineNumber(Integer.parseInt(new String(ch, start, length)));
      } else if (currentName.equals("lineNumber") && itemPos==2) {
       product.setLineNumber(Integer.parseInt(new String(ch, start, length)));
      } else if (currentName.equals("parentLineNumber") && itemPos==2) {
       product.setParentLineNumber(Integer.parseInt(new String(ch, start, length)));
      } else if (currentName.equals("displayLineNumber") && servicePos==2 && itemPos==3) {

      } else if (currentName.equals("lineNumber") && servicePos==2 && itemPos==3) {
       service.setLineNumber(Integer.parseInt(new String(ch, start, length)));
      } else if (currentName.equals("serviceName") && servicePos==2 && itemPos==3) {

  • Why String type is unable to get converted to integer type here ?

    About SQL function this is written in Oracle Documentation :
    "If you call a SQL function with an argument of a datatype other than the datatype expected by the SQL function, then Oracle attempts to convert the argument to the expected datatype before performing the SQL function."But here in this query , i am getting error :

    Regards
    EtbinWhat is the problem if write "15" instead of '15' ? Why Oracle is unable to convert "15" to integer 15 ?As Etbin said, Oracle considers items inside double-quotes to be identifiers, such as column names. If you wanted to name a column "15", then you would have to enclose it in double-quotes, otherwise Oracle would think you were talking about the number 15. If you want to use the 2-character string '15', then enclose it in single-quotes. Single-quotes are how you tell Oracle that something is a string literal; double-quotes are how you tell Oracle that something is an identifier.
    I can hear you saying "Naming a column "15" is a really bad idea!" I agree, but Oracle allows people to do lots of really stupid things if they want to. Naming a column "15" would not be anywhere near the worst idea seen on this forum in the last week.

  • How can I use a 'Scribe' type dictation pedal with Quicktime.

    I use the programs 'Scribe' and 'Express Scribe' to do dictation.  Recently one client, who records with an IPhone, started sending me files that will only open in Quicktime. I thought that you were looking for a solution like the attached VIs.
    Write Key (Variant).vi accepts a variant and determines which Write Key
    ().vi to use according to the datatype. It requires some more
    work since it does not make distinction between float and integer types.
    Your solution is good too as long as you don't care to store flattenned
    strings in a config file instead of more human readable ASCII string
    conversions.

  • How Do I Set XML Content-type in Flex 3

    Hi,
    My Flex 3 project makes an ExternalInterface call to some Javascript. The Javascript is then turned into XML.
    But, my xml isn't parsing in IE. It works in all other browsers. I think that the problem is that I haven't set the XML's content-type. As I understand it IE requires that the Content-type be set. Is this correct?
    My code looks like:
    myReturn =  '<myXMLReturn>' + myReturn + '</myXMLReturn>';
    myReturn = '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>' + myReturn;
    xmlReturn = new XML(myReturn);
    How would I set: header('Content-type: application/xml'); for an ExternalInterface call?
    Thank you.
    -Laxmidi

    Okay. I figured it out. I don't need to set the Content-type.
    I had a case sensitivity problem in parsing the xml. Thank you.

    first thanks for your reply,
    i already figured that out and deployed it using 10.1.3.1 jars
    my question
    1) if it is a bug , how come it works fine with jdeveloper (
    i would appreciate if you could provide any info about it.
    2) i dont want to sound sarcastic , but 10.1.3.1 has of optimistic locking and the recommended solution i found was to use descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateCallCacheSize(0);
    looks like 10.1.3.1 fixed one bug and introduced other one which was working fine earlier...
    is there any other way of fixing optimistic locking issue other than using the
    descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateCallCacheSize(0);
    where i can find the latest/greatest (up to date patched version of toplink)
    thanks again for your help

    Thanks a lot Sir DrClap..
    I tried to use and implement the org.w3c.dom.ls.LSResourceResolver Interface which is based on the SAX2 EntityResolver.
    please give comments the way I implement it. Here's the code:
    LSResourceResolver Implementation
    import org.w3c.dom.ls.LSInput;
    import org.w3c.dom.ls.LSResourceResolver;
    import abc.xml.XsdConstant.Path.DTD;
    import abc.xml.XsdConstant.Path.XSD;
    public class LSResourceResolverImpl implements LSResourceResolver {
         public LSResourceResolverImpl() {
          * {@inheritDoc}
         @Override
         public LSInput resolveResource(String type, String namespaceURI, String publicId, String systemId, String baseURI) {
              ClassLoader classLoader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
              LSInput input = new LSInputImpl(publicId, systemId, baseURI);
              if ("http://www.w3.org/2001/xml.xsd".equals(systemId)) {
                   input.setByteStream(classLoader.getResourceAsStream(XSD.XML));
              } else if (XsdConstant.PUBLIC_ID_XMLSCHEMA.equals(publicId)) {
                   input.setByteStream(classLoader.getResourceAsStream(DTD.XML_SCHEMA));
              } else if (XsdConstant.PUBLIC_ID_DATATYPES.equals(publicId)) {
                   input.setByteStream(classLoader.getResourceAsStream(DTD.DATATYPES));
              return input;
    }I also implement org.w3c.dom.ls.LSInput
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.Reader;
    import org.w3c.dom.ls.LSInput;
    public class LSInputImpl implements LSInput {
         private String publicId;
         private String systemId;
         private String baseURI;
         private InputStream byteStream;
         private String stringData;
         public LSInputImpl(String publicId, String systemId, String baseURI) {
              super();
              this.publicId = publicId;
              this.systemId = systemId;

  • How can an user defined Transaction type in Inventory be configured in IB?

    Need to know how to make an user defined transaction to update the status in IB automatically. i.e. suppose there is an user defined transaction "XYZ". I need to update the instance stause of an item to "CANCELLED" once that transaction happens on the item.

    Hi Atheek,
    I was looking at doing the transform manually, but my challenge is how to parse the inbound String into XML Elements with their properties. For example:
    Example Message:
    <abd:TypedDocument>
    <abd:someElement>
    <abd:aString><jkl:embeddedMessage jkl:attributeABc="Hello There"><jkl:someOtherElement>OSB Rules!<jkl:someOtherElement><jkl:aNumber>123456</jkl:aNumber></jkl:embeddedMessage>
    </abd:aString>
    </abd:someElement>
    </abd:TypedDocument>
    If I get the value of the embedded XML as a string, how can I parse our or address the various elements and attributes in the embedded XML? I was hoping to use:
    $aString cast as jkl:embeddedMessage
    But on OSB10g this fails. Is there another way with XQuery or XSL to convert an embedded XML that comes in as a string, into a complex User-Defined type?
    Thanks,
    David.

  • How to parse thus XML data?

    Hi,experts:
    In below thread:
    Receiving .Net dataset with deployed proxies
    i asked how to create a external definition in IR base on above XML data.
    Now,i have created a XSD file base on the XML data.And importing it into IR successfully.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <xs:schema id="NewDataSet" xmlns="" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:msdata="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-msdata">
    <xs:element name="NewDataSet" msdata:IsDataSet="true" msdata:Locale="zh-CN">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:choice maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xs:element name="Status">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:attribute name="Result" type="xs:string"/>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:choice>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>
    And now,the question is how to parse the XML data in diffgr:diffgram  segment.It seems a MS-XML syntax.Can it be parsed by XI?
    I tried,but the following error occurs:
    com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Cannot produce target element /ns0:ZMT_SD_ORDER01_RESULT. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd at com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.AMappingProgram.start

    Hi,
    The above Exception seems to be because of mapping error.
    Check your mapping for all the mandatory 1-1 mapping, also the 1-unbounded parent node mapping.
    Once when you import the XSD and activate your External Definition if it does without any error then there is no problem with your External Definition.
    If this error occurs only when you test your mapping then this is mapping error and not because of XSD.
    Please check the parent node mapping like 1-unbounded.
    Reward Points if useful

    Ashmi.

  • How to handle double click event in a text control

    Hi,
       Will u please send me information on handling double click events inside text control and also about locking and unlocking of DB tables for updation.
    Regards,
    Praba.

    Hi Prabhavathi,
    Here is how you handle double click events in Textedit control.
    1)Create a custom control in screen (say TEXT_CONTROL)
    2)In main program,
    a) Declarations:
    data: obj type ref to cl_gui_custiom_control.
          text type ref to cl_gui_textedit.
    b) Create the instance of custom container
    c) Create the instance of textedit control.
    3)Now to handle double click events , create a local class as follows.
    class shail_event definition.
    public section.
    methods:
    handle_doubleclick for event dblclick of cl_gui_textedit .
    endclass.
    class shail_event implementation.
    method handle_doubleclick .
    here do the coding for handling the double click.
    endmethod.
    endclass.
    4) Create an instance of the handler class(ie.ZSHAIL_EVENT).Let it be named hand.
    5) Define varibles for event.
    DATA: i_events TYPE cntl_simple_events,
          wa_events TYPE cntl_simple_event.
    SET HANDLER hand->handle_doubleclick for text.
    wa_events-eventid = cl_gui_textedit=>event_double_click.
    wa_events-appl_event = 'X'. "This is an application event
    APPEND wa_events TO i_events.
    6)
        CALL METHOD texte->set_registered_events
          EXPORTING
            events                    = i_events
          EXCEPTIONS
            cntl_error                = 1
            cntl_system_error         = 2
            illegal_event_combination = 3
            OTHERS                    = 4.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
         MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
                    WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
        ENDIF.
    These are the basic steps needed for handling events in Textedit control.You can go to SE24 and type CL_GUI_TEXTEDIT to find the associated events of the class.
    If you want the program, kindly send your mail-id so that I can mail it to you.
    Regards,
    Sylendra.
