How to Pass options to daemons under SMF control

Hello,
I run /usr/sbin/syslogd -m 1 >/dev/msglog 2>&1 & on a Solaris 8/9 servers.
I want to run this on Solaris 10 as well. Where do I make the changes to add the message interval?
My end goal is to stop the "The previous message has repeated X times" We are able to do it on other Unix/Linux OS's. From what I've seen the best option is to change the message interval to 1 minute.
I appreciate any help you are able to give.
Thanks!

Hi.
I am not sure that is best way, but more easy :
Modify last line of file:
*/lib/svc/method/system-log*

  • How to Pass Command line arguments to an exe created in LV8.0

    Hi Friends,
    I have Created an exe in LV8.0, which accepts the Folder path as input and executes.
    I want to call this exe passing the parameter (i.e folder path in my case)  from the command line argument. How to pass arguments to the exe ?
    Generally we may be having different types of input parameters to a vi like numeric control, string, boolean etc..If we create an exe that needs three input parameters among which one is boolean, other is string and third is a numeric value.
    How to pass these different types of input controls to the exe as parameters in command line at the same time?
    Thanks and Regards,
    SODLB

    I don't have any experience with the 8.x application builder, but the 7.x one has a checkbox for passing the arguments to the executable.
    As for reading them, there should be an example in the example finder (Help>>Find Examples) which shows how to do this. If you want to pass multiple parameters, I suggest you use a structure similar to NAME=VALUE, so that you can parse each element to find the = and then use a case structure to decide what to do with the parameters. This allows your users to enter or not enter any of the switches.

  • How to pass select option value to function module while using service call

    Hi,
    I have select-option in my WD application. To collect data based on user input im using service call. How to pass this select option values to my RFC.
    rgds
    sudhanshu

    Hi,
    Thank s for your reply. In fact im doing similar with following variation:
    i) collected range values using get_range* method.
    ii) separate low and high values as:
    read table <field2> index 1 into wa_range.
    vert2_low = wa_range-low.
    vert2_high = wa_range-high.
    (Please note that in RFC I have taken two importing parameter as s_vert_lo and s_vert_hi)
    iii) Now setting these RFC attribute as:
    lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
        EXPORTING
          name =  `S_VERT_LO`
          value = vert2_low ).
    and
    lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
        EXPORTING
          name =  `S_VERT_HI`
          value = vert2_high ).
    iv) In RFC im having my query as :
    select <fld list> from BUT000 into table itab where vertical in r_vert.
    Here, r_vert is a range defined as:
    ranges r_vert for <fld refrence>
    r_vert-sign = 'I'.
    r_vert-option = 'BT'.
    r_vert-low = S_VERT_LO.
    r_vert-high = S_VERT_HI.
    append r_vert.
    Issue here is with ranges. if im passing both low and high values it is fine but if only low value being passed it is not giving me any record.
    Please suggest.

  • HOW TO PASS SELECT-OPTIONS AS IMPORT PARAMETER TO A CLASS

    Hi experts,how to pass select options value as a export parameters to a zclass.
    can  give me some idea.
    Thanks
    sai

    As Sachin already said, selection options are stored in an internal table. You can reconstruct the table type without the corresponding input fields using the type addition RANGE OF.
    So - assuming you have the following in your program:
    DATA: wa TYPE sflight.
            SELECT-OPTIONS so_car FOR sflight-carrid.
    you can create a publically-visible type in your class using direct type entry and the code
    TYPES: my_selectoption TYPE RANGE OF sflight-carrid.
    and use this to define the importing parameter of the method.
    The only other thing you have to remember is that select-options generates an internal table with header line. Thereore, to pass the table to the method, you would use (in the above example) so_car[], and not just the name of the select-option.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Jon.

  • How to pass value to select-option parameter using SET PARAMETER Command

    Hi,
        Am passing values to selection-screen fields in report RV13A004 ( used in VK11, VK12 and VK13). using below statement but material number is select-option in this report. am able to pass  MATERIAL FROM using SET PARAMETER ID, can i know how to pass values MATERIAL TO range in select-options fields using SET PARAMETER Command ??
    Passing values to parameter id
    set parameter id 'VKS' field kschl.
    set parameter id 'VKO' field vkorg.
    set parameter id 'VTW' field vtweg.
    set parameter id 'KDA' field erdat.
    set parameter id 'MAT' field matnr_from.
    Change condition price.
    call transaction 'VK12' and skip first screen.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Balamurugan.

    Hi,
    instead of using set parameters and dden call transaction use this..........
    submit RV13A004  WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar
    Effect
    If you specify this addition, parameters and selection criteria on the selection screen are supplied from an internal table rspar. You must specify an internal table with the row type RSPARAMS for rspar. The structured data type RSPARAMS is defined in the ABAP Dictionary and has the following components, all of which are data type CHAR:
    SELNAME (length 8),
    KIND (length 1),
    SIGN (length 1),
    OPTION (length 2),
    LOW (length 45),
    HIGH (length 45).
    To supply parameters and selection criteria for the selection screen with specific values, the lines in the internal table rspar must contain the following values:
    SELNAME must contain the name of a parameter or selection criterion for the selection screen in block capitals
    KIND must contain the type of selection screen component (P for parameters, S for selection criteria)
    SIGN, OPTION, LOW, and HIGH must contain the values specified for the selection table columns that have the same names as the selection criteria; in the case of parameters, the value must be specified in LOW and all other components are ignored.
    If the name of a selection criterion is repeated in rspar, this defines a selection table containing several lines and passes it on to the selection criterion. If parameter names occur several times, the last value is passed on to the parameter.
    The contents of the parameters or selection tables for the current program can be entered in the table by the function module RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS.
    Notes
    In contrast to selection tables, the data types of the components LOW and HIGH in table rspar are always of type CHAR and are converted to the type of the parameter or selection criterion during transfer, if necessary.
    When entering values, you must ensure that these are entered in the internal format of the ABAP values, and not in the output format of the screen display.
    Cheers
    Will.

  • Select/option with cfquery - how to pass selected value to field downform

    I have a form that has a basic select/option dropdown using a cfquery result.  I would like to use the value that the user selects to pre-populate an editable 'title' field further along on the form.  For example:
    <form action="index.cfm?fuseaction=sendEmail" method="POST" name="email_approval" enctype="multipart/form-data">
    <table width="500" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" align="center">

      <td align="left">WR/RD#:</td>
      <td align="left" width="400"><b><cfoutput>#this_request.request_number#</cfoutput></b></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
      <td align="left">Email Type:</td>
      <td align="left" colspan="2">
          <select name="approval_type" size="1" >
          <cfoutput query="approval_types">

           </cfoutput>
         </select>
      </td>
      <td align="left"> </td>
      <td align="left">Date Sent:</td>
      <td align="left"><b><cfoutput>#dateformat(Now(), "MM/DD/YYYY")#</cfoutput></b></td>
    </tr>
      <cfset subjectLine = "#RequestId#" & " " & "#approval_types.approval_descrip#" & " Approval Request" >
    <script  type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
    <cfoutput>
      var #toScript(subjectLine, "jsLine")#;
    </cfoutput>
    </script>
    <script  type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
    function setValue()
      document.getElementById('subject').value =jsLine;
    </script>
    <tr>
      <td align="left">Subject:</td>
      <td align="left" colspan="5">
       <b><input type="Text" name="subject"  required="Yes" size="70" maxlength="70" onClick="setValue();"></b>
    </td>
    </tr>
    When the user gets to the subject field,the onClick will pre-populate the field with the combined value using <cfset subjectLine = "#RequestId#" & " " & "#approval_types.approval_descrip#" & " Approval Request" >.  regardless of what is selected, it uses the first item in the query list because that is what is rendered when the form is loaded (got that).  I figure that I need a javascript onChange event for the select statement for the dropdown, but can't figure out how to pass this javascript variable back to the CF form.  Any ideas, or am I stuck?
    Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

    You will need to do it with JS as the values you want to access are not set until the form is submitted. This should give you what you want.
    It uses a hidden form field to hold the requestID, that is then accessed with JS. (I am assuming this value is available when the page loads)
    <form action="index.cfm?fuseaction=sendEmail" method="POST" name="email_approval" enctype="multipart/form-data">
    <input type="hidden" name="requestID" id="reqID" value="1234" />

        var e = document.getElementById("approval_type");
        var approval_type_value = e.options[e.selectedIndex].value;

  • How to pass Multiple entries of select-options to FM

    Hi friends,
            i need to pass values date_from and date_to of FM BAPI_AR_ACC_GETSTATEMENT in my report. i have select-option in the selection screen for the posting date i.e, s_pstgdate-low = date_from and  s_pstgdate-high = date_to.
        My question is how to pass values if the user enters multiple entries in s_pstgdate (selection-screen).
        Hope i'm clear with my question.
        Thanks in anticipation.
    Regards
    Poorna

    Hi,
    This is not possible.
    You may wish to call it multiple times with each row of your select-option, and consolidate the returned records.
    Better is to restrict the select-option with no-extension.
    cheers,

  • Select option how to pass in Function Module

    Hi  Friends
    how to pass direct select-option values in a Function Module and  later how to retrive the values from FM as well ?
    Regards
    Meeta

    Hello Meeta
    You may use a generic table type like RSELOPTION or RSDSSELOPT_T. However, this requires that you shuffle the data from twice from your specific select-options to this generic select-option and vice versa.
    A much simpler way is to import the name of the report from which you want to retrieve its select-options into the function module and within the fm just call fm RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS.
    Regards

    How do you update iPad iOS under Settings/General/Software if the Software button is non-existent?

    You do not have iOS 5 on your iPad so you have to update by using a computer via the latest version of iTunes. You can connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under the devices heading. Click on the Summary Tab on the right. Click on Check for Update.
    After you update to iOS 5 or later, you will have Software Update in you settings and can update via WiFi OTA. If you have the original iPad - you can only upgrade to iOS 5.1.1.

  • How to pass data between two internal sessions using ABAP memory?

    Hi,
    How to pass data between two internal sessions using ABAP memory?
    It would be fine if you could explain with an example.
    And also let me clear about the data passing between two main sessions and two external sessions with specific examples.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
      check the example.
    Reading Data Objects from Memory
    To read data objects from ABAP memory into an ABAP program, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    IMPORT <f1> [TO <g 1>] <f 2> [TO <g 2>] ... FROM MEMORY ID <key>.
    This statement reads the data objects specified in the list from a cluster in memory. If you do not use the TO <g i > option, the data object <f i > in memory is assigned to the data object in the program with the same name. If you do use the option, the data object <f i > is read from memory into the field <g i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.
    You do not have to read all of the objects stored under a particular name <key>. You can restrict the number of objects by specifying their names. If the memory does not contain any objects under the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is set to 4. If, on the other hand, there is a data cluster in memory with the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is always 0, regardless of whether it contained the data object <f i >. If the cluster does not contain the data object <f i >, the target field remains unchanged.
    In this statement, the system does not check whether the structure of the object in memory is compatible with the structure into which you are reading it. The data is transported bit by bit. If the structures are incompatible, the data in the target field may be incorrect.
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS1.
    DATA TEXT1(10) VALUE 'Exporting'.
    DATA ITAB LIKE SBOOK OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE.
    DO 5 TIMES.
      ITAB-BOOKID = 100 + SY-INDEX.
      APPEND ITAB.
    ENDDO.
    EXPORT TEXT1
           TEXT2 FROM 'Literal'
      TO MEMORY ID 'text'.
    EXPORT ITAB
      TO MEMORY ID 'table'.
    SUBMIT SAPMZTS2 AND RETURN.
    SUBMIT SAPMZTS3.
    The first part of this program is the same as the example in the section Saving Data Objects in Memory. In the example, the programs SAPMZTS1 and SAPMZTS2 are called using SUBMIT. You can create and maintain the programs called using the SUBMIT statement by double-clicking their names in the statement. For further information about the SUBMIT statement, refer to Calling Executable Programs (Reports)
    Example for SAPMZTS2:
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS2.
    DATA: TEXT1(10),
          TEXT3 LIKE TEXT1 VALUE 'Initial'.
    IMPORT TEXT3 FROM MEMORY ID 'text'.
    WRITE: / SY-SUBRC, TEXT3.
    IMPORT TEXT2 TO TEXT1 FROM MEMORY ID 'text'.
    WRITE: / SY-SUBRC, TEXT1.
    Example for SAPMZTS3:
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS3.
    DATA JTAB LIKE SBOOK OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE.
    IMPORT ITAB TO JTAB FROM MEMORY ID 'table'.
    LOOP AT JTAB.
      WRITE / JTAB-BOOKID.
    ENDLOOP.
    The output is displayed on two successive screens. It looks like this:

    The program SAPMZTS2 attempts to read a data object TEXT3 from the data cluster "text", which does not exist. TEXT3 therefore remains unchanged. The existing data object TEXT2 is placed in TEXT1. In both cases, SY-SUBRC is 0, since the cluster "text" contains data.
    The program SAPMZTS3 reads the internal table ITAB from the cluster "table" into the internal table JTAB. Both tables have the same structure, namely that of the ABAP Dictionary table SBOOK.

  • How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service

    Hi Experts,
    I have Three RFC function modules and i need to create one web service for these three RFC function modules. I know How to crearte a web service for one function module.
    please suggest me How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service.
    Thanks in advance
    Lakshminarayana

    Hi Lakshmi,
    The best way to do it is to assign all the three RFC Enabled FM's to one function group. Later on the top menu in Utilities you get an option to Create a Webservice from a Function Group.
    You can create one single Webservice using all the the 3 FM's.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Manu
