How to pass the selected Pernr from Portal to WDA iview dynamically ?

Hi ,
How we can pass the selected Pernr from portal page to the webdynpro application dynamically?
Ex:
If a manager select a employee id of an employee then it should display all the related document regarding the employee in the ivew.
For that we need to pass the employee id(Pernr) to the iview.How it is possible.

Try using portal events. You will have to register and handle the required portal event in your WDA application.

Hi ,
I have requirement of passing the data from popup view to source. , searching some data in popup view and displaying in table,
Like i am passing some input and click search button will display the data in table, when select any of the row in the table and click on the another button , i should be able to pass the select row to the source view and also should close the popup.
When i implement , In the popup windiw, when i enter the customer no, and click on search button, it is closing the popup itslef. not able to see the data in popup.
Can u tell me what is that soultion.

1) Source view
In "Source View" i have input field called Customer_no. But, the end user will not have any idea , what customer no to enter. so i am searching the customer no in the popup view.
1) Customer_no( This is an inputfiled , to get the customer no from the popup view)
2) Get Customer NO( This is a button to call the popup view)
"Get Customer NO" This button action will open the popup view.
In this popup, i have
1) Input field (To enter the search term)
2) Search (To seach the customer no based on the search term)
3) Table ( To display the search data)
4) Button in Table tool bar called "Select" .( To close the popup view after selected the required data in the table to pass it back to the source view).
so in the popup view what happening is, when i click on the search button itself , it is closing the popupview by transfering the first row of the tbale ,with out select the required row in the table.
i need to close the window after click on the "Select" button in the toolbar , after selected the required row data to trasfer in the table.
Can u pelase tell me what are the modifcations i need to do it.

How to capture the selected values from module pool dialog list box !

Can anyone help me out in capturing the values from the list box.
i am able to set the values in the list box.But i am not able to capture the selected value from the list box. Always the list box name is getting as "space"
I also tried in using the FM "VRM_GET_VALUES" but it is retireving all the values. Is there is any flag for filttering out the selected value.

I have a multiselect list displaying all the years from 2003 to 2008 (used dynamic LOV). The user can choose one or more years as per his needs, and then when user clicks on the link the selected values of the list are to be captured and a pop up page of a Discoveror report needs to be opened where these years get passed as a parameter. I tried several methods to capture the value, but either one or all are getting passed but not exactly what the user has chosen.
This is how it looks:
P2_FISCAL_YEAR is a multiselect list containing values from 2003,2004... 2008
If user chooses 2004 and 2007
then I want the url to capture these values and pass as parameters for my discoveror reports. as '&qp_fiscal_year=2004,2007'
Any help is appreciated!

How to trace the wdy application from Portal link?

I have a req to work with a application,which show the salary slip,through ESS portal,but I am not able to trace out the webdynpro application,is is running behing this?
can any oe pls tell how to trace out the application,if worked any time.
secondly req is to insert the logo in the salary slip,when we clk in the SALARY button,its display the slip as PDF,please tell how this PDF is attached inside the application,as if its a Z smart form,than i can insert the logo in it & can reinsert in the webdynpor application,as I think its a case of z smrtform which is called or linked on webdynpro.
pls tell how to trace the standard application or the smart form.

Hi Vipin,
You can get the webdynpro application name from the portal link or you can ask portal team to get you the webdynpro
application name from the portal iView of salary slip application.
After that go to SICF tcode.
Search for the application name by entering the application name against the field SERVICE NAME and press F8 (execute).
The system will find you the SICF service for that webdynpro application. Select that service from the list.
Now click on menu GOTO->OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY and get the package name from the popup window.
Go to tcode SE80 and open that package.
Expand node Web dynpro->Web Dynpro Applicat. and find the application there.
Double click on the application.
Get the web dynpro component from the application parameter.
Open the Web Dynpro component in se80 and do the changes as required.

Now I added a parameter for a dropdown list. The Value set is passed correctly. No problem there. The values are filled and diplayed correctly.

The problem is to GET the selected value in the method that is called after clicking on the Search button.
I tried using several methods, for example GET_PARAMETER_FIELD and GET_SELECTION_SCREEN_ITEMS.
* Get the Ship-to
DATA: ltp_kunwe       TYPE REF TO data.
ltp_kunwe = wd_this->m_handler_dlv->get_value_of_parameter_field(
                                        i_id = 'KUNWE' ).
* Assign it to a field symbol
ASSIGN ltp_kunwe->* TO <fs_kunwe>.
Result was INITIAL.
DATA: lrf_get_selection_screen_items TYPE if_wd_select_options=>tt_selection_screen_item.
wd_this->m_handler_dlv->get_selection_screen_items(
              IMPORTING
                 et_selection_screen_items = lrf_get_selection_screen_items ).
Result was INITIAL, although the table was retrieved with all values.
wd_this->m_handler_dlv->get_parameter_field(
                                      EXPORTING
                                        i_id = 'KUNWE'
                                      IMPORTING
                                        e_value = ltp_kunwe ).
Also INITIAL.
It looks like I am missing a step (maybe to set lead selection for this field). What did I miss?
How can I get to the value?

CREATE DATA lr_value TYPE string.                     "<---- I was missing this code
LOOP AT lta_ship_to_table INTO lwa_ship_to.
    value_set-key   = lwa_ship_to-key.
    value_set-value = lwa_ship_to-value.
*    INSERT value_set INTO TABLE lt_value_set.
    append value_set TO lt_value_set.
ENDLOOP.
ltp_text = wd_assist->if_wd_component_assistance~get_text( 'L01' ).
wd_this->m_handler_dlv->add_parameter_field(
                          i_description = ltp_text
                          i_id           = 'KUNWE'
                          i_value        = lr_value   "<---- I was missing this code
                          i_as_dropdown = abap_true
                          it_value_set   = lt_value_set
                          i_within_block = 'BLK1' ).
I looked at that parameter, but thought is was only used to SET the value, not required to get it back as well. Because it IS an import parameter...

How to get the selected items from listbox

Regarding listbox i have two questions
1) I want to get the selected items as per the order in which ihave selected.Presently i'm getting in the ascending order.For example after selcting the 1,2,6 if i select 3 then its giving 1,2,3,6.But i want it in the order 1,2,6,3
2)I want to select items from a single list box to many other listboxes.(ie) my first selection should goto first,second one to the second listbox and like this.How should i write the logic.
please give me a suggestion.

In order to have the selected items line up in accordance to the selection order, please do it one at a time. (That's the limit for that VI)
If you need more than that (i.e. to regconize which item clicked first and which one comes later), you may have to figure it out ya

How to pass the NEW row from a trigger to a procedure

I want to pass all NEW values from a trigger to a procedure.
I wish to use a %ROWTYPE or similar,
and I want neither to assigne them nor pass them one by one.
Any suggestion?

Such facility is very much there in Visual Basic , similar programming tools.

How to pass the primary key from a report to multiple forms

I am trying to build an application that tracks a person's training records. I have a report and 3 forms (all tabbed). From the report I can click the edit link to modify a person. Is there a way I can pass the primary key of the person (from the report) to the other forms? Hope what I'm trying to do is clear.

You can specify items from other pages also.
Did you use that popup to pick item ?
Did you noticed that it filter by page where your link point. You can remove filter from popup and then select other items.
Or just manually type your item names

I have created a drop down in a web application using the option characteristic binding. I need to pass the value that the user selects in this drop down to a Bex exit variable, for use in the variable logic. Please tell how this can be achieved.

R u telling abt Bex OR BPS variables
if Bex variable then u can write the code in Exit where u can read the variable value when u select something in drop down then manupulate it or assign some value to other variable on the basis of some business logic..
If BPS variable then u will have to write a function module where u need to read the varaible value using that function module and then maupulate it...
