Drop Down - how to pass the selection

Hi Experts,
I have created a drop down in a web application using the option characteristic binding. I need to pass the value that the user selects in this drop down to a Bex exit variable, for use in the variable logic. Please tell how this can be achieved.

R u telling abt Bex OR BPS variables
if Bex variable then u can write the code in Exit where u can read the variable value when u select something in drop down then manupulate it or assign some value to other variable on the basis of some business logic..
If BPS variable then u will have to write a function module where u need to read the varaible value using that function module and then maupulate it...

Try using portal events. You will have to register and handle the required portal event in your WDA application.

How to pass the selected table row data from popup to source view

Hi ,
I have requirement of passing the data from popup view to source. , searching some data in popup view and displaying in table,
Like i am passing some input and click search button will display the data in table, when select any of the row in the table and click on the another button , i should be able to pass the select row to the source view and also should close the popup.
When i implement , In the popup windiw, when i enter the customer no, and click on search button, it is closing the popup itslef. not able to see the data in popup.
Can u tell me what is that soultion.

1) Source view
In "Source View" i have input field called Customer_no. But, the end user will not have any idea , what customer no to enter. so i am searching the customer no in the popup view.
1) Customer_no( This is an inputfiled , to get the customer no from the popup view)
2) Get Customer NO( This is a button to call the popup view)
"Get Customer NO" This button action will open the popup view.
In this popup, i have
1) Input field (To enter the search term)
2) Search (To seach the customer no based on the search term)
3) Table ( To display the search data)
4) Button in Table tool bar called "Select" .( To close the popup view after selected the required data in the table to pass it back to the source view).
so in the popup view what happening is, when i click on the search button itself , it is closing the popupview by transfering the first row of the tbale ,with out select the required row in the table.
i need to close the window after click on the "Select" button in the toolbar , after selected the required row data to trasfer in the table.
Can u pelase tell me what are the modifcations i need to do it.

Populating 2nd drop down list based on the selection of the first using Access DB...

I have a form that I would like to have the user select the first drop-down list as populated from a data source, but them have the subsequent selection choice dependent on the first. For instance, if they select "administration" for their division, the department numbers shown in the second box would only contain those with "Administration" listed as their division. I have all of this information in my Access table.
I've seen this possible by storing all of the information in a script. i.e.- listing each division and department. The only problem is that we have over 300 departments and making any changes would be very tedious in an in-form script. Is there any way to have this automatically reference a table in Access?

In the current version of the portal, it is not possible as you cannot do code-behind on postbacks. If you want more flexibility, you need to write your own front-end that uses the FIM Service webservices...

How to pass the selected data of a table to SAP(R/3)

Hi all,
I have a table with 2 colums and 10 records.Now i want to send the selected record to the R/3.
Once the user checks the checkbox i retrivred the colum values of that row into a string array.
and i added all the string arrays to an AbstractList.
Now in function module it is giving as setT_Operations(AbstractList)
but it is giving error..can u plz tell me how the function module understands the individual String arrays

Hey try to accept the values of a column as import parameters to a BAPI and you can send the data.But this will work out for a single data.
In the BAPI insert the data making use of insert command.
ITAB-COLUMN1 = IMPORT PARAMETER 1.
ITAB-COLUMN2 = IMPORT PARAMETER 2.
INSERT INTO VALUES ITAB.
If you want to insert multiple records then you have to change the cardinality of the node.And add the node elements to the node.If any doubts then do reply.

Drop down menu not passing/reading a varaible

i have a drop down list on

there are 2 different types of projects; developments and
investments. the drop down lists all the projects (developments and
investments), so if a user is on development.php and then selects
an investment project, then he/she should be taken to
investment.php with the correct investment project loaded up (with
the use of passing the projID). Each project has a category field,
so if the user selects an investment project, then i need the drop
down list to pass the category (from the recordset) to the form
action and then that will load the correct page (please see code,
form action section).
the is problem is that the list is only passing the ID of the
project, we need it to pass another field (category) too as when
you select a project i need the user to be taken to another page
which is dynamically loaded- depends which project the user
selects.
hope ive made sense, please feel free to ask me any questions
as any help would be great.

What browser are they using? That could be the problem.
Spry isn't the best route to go with menus anymore (I honestly don't think it ever was to begin with), Adobe no longer supports or develops Spry. You may be better off creating a new menu in CSS or jQuery. There are tons of tutorials online if you look for "css menu" or "jquery accordion menu" with tutorails on how to get them running.
I don't see any errors jumpiong out at me in your code, except one unrelated one. You have a link to favicon.gif in your head that isn't closed correctly. It needs a /> rather than a standard >. However, Favicons need to be .ico files, a .gif won't work. There's a free Photoshop plug-in to create the .ico file type here: http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/ but it can be found in several places online.

I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

I use this for my mobile, on-site auto repair business and not being able to call up repair and diagnostic info and reference for some cars is troublesome for sure. It works fine on the computer and I have installed a remote desktop app as a workaround but it is unreliable because the desktop is not business dedicated and may be off or in use at the time. So is there a known fix for this?
Let me paint a more descriptive picture, visualize 4 drop down selection menus, first one is for year, next one is for make, 3rd one is model and the last one is for engine size/type. If I wanted to choose a 2012 vehicle it wont work because it is the top selection on the list. This can be forced by selecting any other year and then coming back to 2012. Ok fine, but then let's say I wanted to choose Acura as the make, well it won't take it because again it's the top selection. Again you work around it be selecting any other make and coming back to Acura. Ok now select the model, same trend follows. But now since most Acura vehicles come with dedicated engines and no optional engines I have only 1 selection in that final drop down menu and it will not take my selection and therefore never let me proceed to the info I need.
This is also true when ordering parts from my wholesaler's website, they use drop downs and I can only get to that last drop down and then I'm stuck. This is blindingly frustrating, what options do I have. I'm not opposed to any avenue at this point.

Did you ever figure this out? I bought my iPad last week to use in my business as well. I assume you are trying to use alldata? That is where I noticed this same issue. I had problems with identifix working with safari but downloaded a different browser and that works fine. Alldata does not work with either browser. The main difference is that on identifix if there is only one engine selection, it automatically selects the only option and continues to the home page. With alldata you have to make the selection manually even if there is only one option. Honestly if I can't get this to work I am going to return the iPad as it looses a significant amount of usefulness to men

Delete abd re-enter your Facebook account information jnder the accounts tab in the iPhoto preferences

Oh I thought that you have selection-screen and again you are working on dialog programming.
if you want to use select-option directly in module pool then it is not possible.
but you can do other way.
create two varaiables
data : v_kun_low like kna1-kunnr,
         v_kun_high like kna1-kunnr.
use these two variables in layout ,let user knows that he can not give options like gt,lt,eq ,it will be always BT.
and also when you see normal report program,you can use multiple values in either low or high,but here it is not possibel.
use can enter only low value and high value.
when you come to program point of view
declare one range
ranges r_kunnr for kna1-kunnr.
do the coding like
r_kunnr-low = v_kun_low.
r_kunnr-high = v_kun_high.
r_kunnr-options = 'BT'.
r_kunnr-sign = 'I'.
append r_kunnr.
now you can use r_kunnr in select query ,it will work like select-option.
other than this there is no option.

By selection screen, what do you mean? There is no selection screen in WDA as there was in classic dynpro. Do you mean you are using the Select-Options reusable component? Are you wanting to call a standard transaction via ITS - SAPGUI for HTML? Please provide more details to your question.
