How to prevent workflow being executed at TEST instance

Hi,
We have a problem where wrokflow are not instance - depended.
I want to have a rule that will be true only if user is at PRODUCTION instance, and will NOT work if user is at TEST instance.
Any idea?
Thanks
Guy

Hi Guy,
You didn't mention what the trigger was, but if it includes new records created, I have a solution for you.
The record IDs all start with 4 letters, usually 'A' and then the three pod designating letters, (ABJA, ABSA, etc.). In all my customers cases staging and production are on 2 different pods, so what you can do is add a condition to the WF rule saying that the record ID must be LIKE 'ABJA*' (use the 4 letters from production) and it will always trigger in prod, while never triggering in staging.
Again, this will only work for new records created in staging, but that may be enough for you.

  • Business Rules - how to stop when being executed in background?

    Hello,
    I have a very simple BR that is supposed to copy data from one version to another, however the BR timeouted and now is being executed in the background.
    The thing is that it is being executed for two hours now. I can see the BR in the Job window with 'Processing' status.
    I've set two system options HBR_MAX_WAIT_FOR_RULE and HBR_MONITOR_DELAY to 600000, and restarted the application and essbase, however the BR's status in Job window is still 'processing'.
    Is there any way to:
    1. Stop the execution of the business rule?
    2. Verify what causes the BR to run for so long?
    3. Does dense/sparse settings have the impact on BRs' execution time?
    Kind regards
    Marcin Stawny

    Hi,
    I take it we are talking classic planning.
    You can terminate rules from within EAS, if you right click the analytic server and select edit sessions, you should see the rule running.
    I am not sure why it says it still running maybe it has cached that it is running and still believes it is, have you restarted EAS?
    Lots of different elements can be makinh a business rule run for a long time, the code/cube might need optimizing, it might be trying to copy a lot of data.....
    Maybe worth posting more details on your database, number/name of dimensions, number of members, dense/sparse
    Also the business rule code.

  • Struts/ADF Iterator problem - how to prevent iterator from executing?

    HI
    I've a problem with a iterator which I would like NOT to execute before I order it! This is a basic Struts/ADF app developed in JDeveloper 9052 and I really don't understand why this iterator is executed!
    My binding definition file for the page contains 2 iterators, let say iterator A and B. Each iterator is bound to a different viewobject. Viewobject bound to iterator A i straightforward, but viewobject bound to iterator B has 3 bind variables - and then I don't want iterator B to execute before i have specified values for those, but I can't hold it back!
    The bindingcontainer is forced into FindMode to prevent any iterator to execute in the first place - then I thought that I would be completely in control. This works fine, until I need to execute iterator A without executing B or any other iterator. I've overridden the prepareModel() method, to accomplish this:
    protected void prepareModel(DataActionContext ctx) throws Exception {
    DCBindingContainer con = ctx.getBindingContainer();
    JUCtrlActionBinding action = (JUCtrlActionBinding)con.findCtrlBinding("ExecuteA");
    action.invoke();
    But, executing iterator A this way, also automatically executes iterator B somehow, which causes a classic JBO-27122 (not all variable bound...). If I remove the code for manually executing iterator A, I get no error, because no iterator is fired at all then. But how do I only execute one iterator in the binding container???
    To demonstrate, my JSP page only has this content:
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld" prefix="html"%>
    <html:errors/>
    Regards
    Jacob

    I don't think you can stop that.
    What I usually do to prevent result show up is to add additional condition with bind variable to programmatically make it selecting no row. vo is something like
    select aField
    from someTable
    where .....
    and :toSearch = 'Y'
    the bind variable :toSearch will be default to 'N'

  • How to prevent layers being removed

    Hello,
    How can I stop layers being removed from an illustrator drawing?
    for example i have a drawing, i want to share it with a collegue so they can edit it in illustrator but prevent my signature from being removed?
    any ideas?
    Thanks

    With inexperienced users you couldtry and  bury it deep down in a hierarchy of clipping masks and/or layers and lock it there. Works better if it is connected with parts of the actual graphic somehow, so that hiding ot deleting one of those masks will hide or delete everything.
    To my mind it would be better for your relationship to just trust them. At least you work for them - they must be trustable somehow.

  • Airport how to prevent from being cut off by Netcut

    Im using an aiport router connected to my pc, my brother on the other hand is using a program called NetCut which disconnects me from the internet when he feels that i am lagging him. It makes the status connected but no internet connection, is there a way i can prevent this from happening?
    is there a way to protect myself from this? also how can i disconnect people off my network wireless and ethernet?

    you could place a frame with horizontal elasticity set to shrink around your author's field. make that field fill 90% of the page width and place the date-column beside it.
    If you have small number of authors the field should shrink and take the date fied with it.
    If you have a very large number of authors the list would occupy 90% of the pagewidth, spread over more than one row, the dat field would be places at the right end of the page at the top.
    hope this helps.

  • How to Prevent Workflow when Automatic PO created in 3rd Party Sales

    Hello,
    We have set up a special Sales Document Type for the purpose of 3rd party sales. The item category is TAS, so the Purchase requisition gets created automatically.
    The problem is that when the Sales Order is saved, it starts a Business Workflow and sends an email to our EDI Technical Team.  We want to disable the workflow functionality in this sales document because it is not needed.
    Is there a way to disable ALE for a sales document type?
    Thanks very much!

    Please review the following notes for more information:

    On creating Purchase order for requirement created for a customer sales order stock, if the customer sales order stock is not valuated, this means a Consumption ( GBB ) account is involved here. If the posting is a consumption account, SAP allows the user to decide whether it should be autotmatically or manually entered. Because of this option, system need this account to be set with Field 'Automatic posting only' to ' '.
    With this field  'Automatic posting only' setting to ' ', whether the account can be automatically or manually entered is then controlled by the field status in the PO creation. If you do not want the user to enter the account manually, then this account should be set to display mode in PO.
    If the customer sales order stock is valuated, then in General business process, this would involve a BSX ( material account )
    postings. Normally this is automatically derived during PO creations. No manual enterring is allowed. Thus if it is correct to set this account with field Automatic posting only' setting to 'X' in FI settings.

  • How to prevent images being compressed inside Jar?

    Hi There. I'm creating an applet that uses a Jar file. The Jar file contains three packages. A problem I'm having is when I create the jar using the switches -cvf all the files including some images that are used are compressed, then when the images are used in my application they are corrupted.
    I can switch off the compression entirely using the -0 switch, this fixes the problem but makes my Jar file 1.5 MB instead of 300KB! Is there any way when creating the Jar file to prevent it from compressing the images?
    Thanks.

    If you are using ImageIO, you should (for now) wrap the stream into a new BufferedInputStream.
    BufferedImage i = ImageIO.read(new BufferedInputStream(getClass().getResourceAsStream(path)));That does the trick ;)

  • Script is not being executed in another instance of cluster

    Hi expert!
    We have two instances running in a cluster environment.
    We created a script in instance-1. The script is executed in instance-1 withoug any issue. But it is not executing in instance-2.
    The instance-2 can see the script, though.
    We even restarted the web server. The problem still exists.
    What can be possible reason to cause it?
    Could you give me any hints?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Jordan,
    Are all the scripts not working in the 2nd instance or is the issue related to a specific script? It could be a caching related issue. I would try clearing the script key cache. If that doesnu2019t help, I would check the log file on the instance itu2019s not working. Logs should give you information on what might be going on.
    Also, I assume you meant, you restarted the app server not the web server.

  • How to purge Workflow queue after R12 upgrade before starting WF Mailer?

    Hi,
    We are about to upgrade to R12.1.3 from R11.5.9.
    As part of the testing, I configured and started the Workflow Mailer in the new system. As soon as I did that, the system started sending a ton of notifications regarding past Requisition approvals apparently queued in the system. WF Mailer has been down since I did the last upgrade test.
    We plan to approve all requisitions before the cutover in the old system, so there should be no email notifications pending. Is there a way of updating msg_state of those notifications in the wf_notification_out table with a value of "READY", so we can make sure that we will have a clean system and users will not receive any notifications regarding the past requisition approvals?
    Thanks,

  • How to create copy or test instance of existing weblogic application?

    How can I create a copy or test instance of an existing weblogic 8.1 application? Is there a white paper that outlines the process?

    Hi All,
    I need some help in recreating new database instance.
    Here are the steps I have done so far:
    1. Created a database with name 'LASTDB' using DBCA
    2. Connected to RMAN.
    3. RMAN>SET DBID=******; (of the source database)
    4. Connect to target. RMAN>connect target SYS/*****;
    5. Executed controlfile restore on RMAN.
         RMAN>Run{
    Allocate channel D1 Type DISK;
              Set controlfile autobackup format for device type DISK to
    ‘\\<ip_address>\Backup\Prod\%F’;
    Restore controlfile from autobackup;
    6. RMAN> ALTER DATABASE MOUNT;
    Now got an error saying ORA-01103: database name ‘PRODDB' in control file is not ‘LASTDB’
    I tried using NID to change the database name but it's throwing an error that database is not mounted.
    I have browsed a lot and found that I need to recreate a control file of the production database using ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE and should edit the trace file. But it also says to shutdown the source database which is production database and I cannot try that.
    Also I have tried adding a line to init.ora like lock_space_name = LASTDB. Also tried replacing everything from LASTDB to PRODDB but that didn't work either.
    I have been trying to find a solution to this. Please bear with me as I'm a beginner and please let me know how I can fix the error.
    I am running oracle 10.1.0.2.0 enterprise edition on windows 2000.
    Thanks for your patience,

  • How to get all parameter names along with their values in stored procedure which is being executed

    Im using sql server 2012, is there any possible way to get all the parameters of a stored procedure along with the values passed to it.
    I need these things to build a xml. I mean this should happen in the procedure which being executed and it should be common for all the procedures.
    For example, let us suppose we have to procedures,
    uspSave, @name='test' @age=20
    uspDelete @id=2
    now in uspSave procedure, i need to get @name, @age and the values 'test', 20 and in uspDelete, i should get @id with value 2.
    For getting the column names, i tried this,
    select parameter_name from information_schema.PARAMETERS where specific_name=OBJECT_NAME(@@procid)
    now is it possible to loop through the result of above query and can we get the values.

    I think  you need running SQL Server Profiler to capture this info even in SQL Server 2012.

  • TS3276 On received mail, I delete sender's name, address, etc. then forward it.  The forwarded mail has a duplicate of the original mail, show original sender's name, etc.  How to prevent the duplicate from being sent?

    How to prevent duplicate of orginal mail (with original sender's name, address) being "attached" when forwarded?

    Maybe I am mis-understanding what you are seeing.
    When I forward a message, the receiver will see the original mail (unless I edit it, such as removing any previous sender's information) and the length will be the same as the message was before forwarding except for the added line "Begin forwarded message" (again, unless I edit bits out), and there will be no attached copy of the original message.
    So when you say in your reply above "The orginal email with the sender's name and address was also sent with my forwarded email." do you mean:
    a) that it is still visible at the head of the text of the message (which I was saying does not happen for me because "after hitting delete, the previous sender's information disappears." [and since] "it has disappeared, it cannot be in your forwarded mail." Disappeared means it is not there.
    b) another copy of the original message is attached to the forwarded email at the end, either as an included file or as repeated text.
    c) some other situation.
    Sorry about the previous mis-spellings! I hope that we can get to the bottom of this.
