How to provide dynamic refresh using 2 drop down

Hi All,
can anybody help me on this issue.
i have 2 drop down lists. both getting the values from data base.when i select the some content in first drop down , the second drop down need to be refresh its content basing on the selected item from first drop down. how can i do this?

When something goes wrong with my programs, which happens far too often, I go back and check the obvious things first.
First, did you map the drop down list's process value change event to a processValueChange method? You do this by right-clicking on the drop down list and selecting Edit Event Handler|processValueChange. JSC automatically creates an empty processValueChange method in the page bean.
Second, did you select the component's Auto-Submit on Change option, either from the popup menu or from the Properties view? If you don't set the auto-submit option, processValueChange never gets called.
If the selection needs to be processed immediately, I usually save the selected item to a session bean (in the processValueChange method) and reference it in prerender to alter what gets displayed on the page based on the selection. (I suspect this is the option you will have to use.)
If the selection doesn't have to be processed immediately, then you can process the selection in the page's submit action method.

Is there anyway to create Cascading filter in Design studio when data source is Universe using drop-down component (Dimension filters cannot be used in my requirement).
My requirement is,
I have 2 drop-downs:
drop-down 1 : shows the regions in a country.
drop-down 2 : should display states based the region selected in the first drop-down (drop-down 1). Also drop-down 2 should pass selected state as input to the data-source

How to hard code values in drop down by index

I hav a node containing 2 attributes ie value n key. I am using drop down by index. Value attribute is bound to my drop dwn box. In key I am providing key value for the value. I need to hard code 3 value..Can anyone help me how to do so.

Example for Data Binding of the DropDownByIndex UI Element:
Procedure at design time:
       1.      Create a view with the name TestView.
       2.      Insert the DropDownByIndex UI element as a container child of the TestView view. (Step 1)
       3.      Create the context structure, as described in step 2.
Create the context node X with the cardinality 0..n. Insert the value attribute y of the type String into this node. Then perform the data binding of the DropDownByIndex UI element in the Properties window of the View Designer. The texts property must be bound to the value attribute y with the context path description TestView.X.y (step 3).
The context path TestView.X.y describes the attribute y in the context node X of the view context of the TestView view.
You can fill the context with test data using the following controller implementation.

SAPGUI 7.20 patch level 7 crashes while working in ALV using drop downs

We have a set of users that work mostly in ALV transactions and can have a few open at the same time. They also use the drop downs quite frequently switching back and forth between ALV's. After working like this for awhile SAPGUI crahses.
Unfortunately we have not been able to re-create this issue so I have not entered an OSS message. The only constant is using ALV & drop downs.
We have done the following:
Patched the GUI - no help
upgraded pc's - These user received new pc's with higher memory & Windows 7 this helped slow down the amount of crashes occurring but did not eliminate them.
We have monitored the memory on the pc & that does not seem to be the issue.
Searched OSS, Google & SDN
They are using the Signature View and IE 8 .
Has anyone else experienced these issues or maybe have some suggestions on how to proceed?

I cannot say that all ALV users are affected or at least they are not reporting it. This particular group of users mainly works in ALV & with very large amount of data loaded into the ALV.
I watched the user this morning. She is filling in data using drop downs & ctrl C and ctrl V, just s few fields at a time. There was a note about copying large amount of data in ALV but that has been fixed & we have that patch.
I ran the nwcheckworkstation and it came back ok.
I wanted to trace the GUI but we cannot recreate the issue. So the trace would have to be running for sometime before the user crashes which is not even a guarantee and I am not too sure that is a good idea since traces usually produce large files. Also not too sure which GUI component to trace.

Using Drop down box in a table control

I'm new to ABAP. I'm trying to use drop down boxes as fields inside a table control.Im using 2 fields (f1 and f2). I want to dynamically populate values in f2 based on f1 i.e once i choose a value in f1 and click on f2 , it should give me a list of values in f2 based on the value of f1. f1 and f2 are from different tables.
what i have done : i am able to populate values in f2 (based on the value of f1)
Problem::
1. Once i choose a value in the field f1, the value is not remaining in the field. Once i choose, the value blinks for a while and goes off ! ... ( my guess :: PBO is clearing it )
2. After i choose a value in f1 in the first row, the corresponding values in f2 are getting populated in all the rows.

For your first problem: Try to handle normal field (without table control) first.
In PAI, you have to move value from dynpro field to your program field. In case of tables, you have to modify corresponding line of internal table.
Then next PBO will read updated value and screen display doesn't loose any longer changes.
In case of identical naming of screen fields / global fields in program, some movements are done automatically by system based on this naming. That's of course not possible with internal tables, so try a global field with a name different to field on screen to see the behavior.
For your second problem: I guess, your struggling with a global work area of your internal table, which is not correctly filled with screen values for each time -> once filled, all lines changed.

Before it use to happen in my gmail account but now its not. Please help me as its increasing my work time because I have to type the subject line again and again on each email I send. This is usually caused by one or more bookmarks having a long title.
You can check that folder in the Library and shorten long names.

I assume that you are referring to the categories on your iTunes library (?), if you are then go into Edit > Preferences and on the General tab make sure that Tones is ticked
You can also enable the left-hand sidebar on iTunes 11 on a PC via control-S, which then allows you to view the sections of your library (those enabled in Preferences) via that sidebar, and if you have iOS devices they will also show on that sidebar when connected.

The easiest way to do this is to define a domain for Gender that maps to
a droplist widget. ForteExpress will then automatically display the
widget in any ArrayWindow or FormWindow in which Gender appears. (I
don't think outlinefields support this widget.) There is a documented
customization for adding SQL to the domain to automatically fill it, but
we've found this to be a performance drag. What we usually do is cache
this type of list information on the client, usually by loading it into
arrays of listelement in a service object at user logon. The list is
then ready to go whenever a window needs it, and you can set the element
list of the droplist in PostOpenInit or wherever it seems appropriate.

How to get value in Second Drop Down based on selection made in first dropd

I have a table with first two columns as dropdown.
The values in first drop down are fixed. However the value in second dropdown should be populated based on selection made in first .
e.g
First Column had different departments say IT, SALES, HR.
Based on department selected I have to populate employee of that department.
For first dropdown I have taken Drop down by index.
What should I select for second drop down and achieve desired functionality? Please guide.

Missing Export and Use Drop Down Lists

I cannot export my .mov files to any format other than .mov as the Export and Use drop down lists are missing. When I go to File > Export the text for Export and Use are there followed by blank gray space as if the drop down lists never existed.
I just upgraded to Pro today and had infrequently used QuickTime Player previously. I have the most current version 7.6.5. The other functions appear to be working normally, but I am not a "familiar user" so I can't say for sure.
Any ideas?

You can't include sub-menus in a drop-down. What is possible, though, is to populate another drop-down based on the selection made in the first one, or use a pop-up menu. Both things require a script, though.
