How to quit the QUERY STATUS please?

When I execute a query and fail to find the result, the FORM_STATUS is QUERY. And so I cannot close the query and do other things. ABORT_QUERY do not change the FORM_STATUS.

Will work.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Thanks. But then I have to write codes like these:
If :System.Block_Status = 'QUERY' Then
Exit_Form;
End If;
If does not look formal, and sometimes it do exit the form, which is not the thing I want to. I only want to get the :System.Block_Status to NOMAL. Do you have any other way?
Thanks again.

  • How to reduce the query execution time

    hai all,
We have created query on Purchasing Cube 0PUR_C01 for
Purchase Order (PO) analysis for single vendor materials, but it is taking long time to execute (about 45 sec...).
In the above Query we have used the following things:
    In Columns:
    i) Exceptional aggregation for maximum & minimum PO Net Price using reference characteristic as Calendar Day.
ii) Minimum PO Price value we have multiplied with Actual GR Quantity for the calculation of Impact of Lowest PO Net Price.
iii) Number of vendors calculated key figure.
    In Rows:i)     Only Material
    In Filters:
    i)     Plant with variable select Option u2013 Optional.
ii)     Calendar Year / Month with Select Option u2013 Optional.
iii)     Material with excluded Unassigned (#).
iv)     Vendor with excluded Unassigned (#).
Following are we have used for Performance:
    i)     Aggregates using Propose from query (only for this query).
ii)     Partitioning on Calendar Year / Month (For 1 year 14 partitions) i.e. (04.2007 to 03.2008).
    iii)      Collapse.
iv)     In RSRT we have set the following properties
    Read Mode = H
    Req.Status  = 0
    Catch Mode = 4
    Persistence Mode = 3 (BLOB)
    Optimization mode = 0.
    Our inputs to this Query:
    i)     We are passing plant range 1201 to 1299.
ii)     Calendar Year / Month 04.2007 to 03.2008.
So please suggest me how to reduce the execution time.
    please help me.
    Thanks,
    kiran manyam

    Hi,
First of all its a complete question with all the details. Good work.
As you partitioned the cube based on calmonth and you are also giving calmonth in selection, it will definitely work towards improved query performance.
As you are putting plant values in the selection, is there any aggregate available on plant characteristics? If not creating a aggregate on plant will help.

  • How to analyse the query

    hi all,
please tell me the order of execution of the below query.
my doubt is here the data will be fetched for doc_type and doc_number is null or first it will fetch the data based on company, reference, partent from activity_details
    SELECT REFERENCE,SERIAL,JOB_NUMBER
    FROM PROCESS_DETAIL
    WHERE BASED_ON ='TBA'
    AND PROCESS_TYPE = 'H'
    AND STATUS IN('2','4','6')
AND EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM JOB_HEADER JH

                                AND DOC_TYPE IS NOT NULL
AND DOC_NUMBER IS NOT NULL)please let me know how to analyse the query?

Use alias for tables in SELECT clause. Try it.
    SELECT REFERENCE,SERIAL,JOB_NUMBER
    FROM PROCESS_DETAIL PR
    WHERE BASED_ON ='TBA'
    AND PROCESS_TYPE = 'H'
    AND STATUS IN('2','4','6')

                                WHERE COMPANY = JH.COMPANY
                                AND REFERENCE = JH.REFERENCE
AND SERIAL    = PARENT -- maybe PR. alias here

Any time you would like to explore this further run this code:
    SELECT 1 FROM dual
WHERE regexp_like(' ','^*[ ]*a');but not on a production box because you are going to experience an extreme tuning event with zero i/o.

  • How to reset the response status and response header

    Dear Masters
Actually we are using NTLM Authentication process to get the system login id for our web application. The problem which I am getting is after running the NTLM Authentication Code I am not able to call the action class. It is telling 400 Server error bad request. I am using Struts Dispatch Action Class. In Dispatch Action I will be passing a name (eg. method) as a parameter in struts-config.xml file and using that parameter I will be calling the respective method in the Action class. The problem which I am facing is after running the authentication code I am not able to fire the action class. It is telling the error in the console as "parameter named method is not found". Actually in NTLM Authentication code they are setiing the response status to www-authenticate,NTLM. If I reset the response status back to the normal form I think i will be able to fire the action class. Please give me a suggestion on how to reset the response status and response header back to the normal form. Any solution to this is appreciated. Please respond your reply as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I think, a servlet filter is what you need. Please check the following URLs on how to go about creating a filter.

  • How to Automate the Query Search Upon Return to the Calling Form?

    Greetings Ya’ll Gurus,
Could you please share with me how to make the Query Search executed automatically each time, when database table is updated, upon return to the “Calling Form” (i.e. FormA in this posting) from the “Called Form” (i.e. FormB from here on)?
I have FormA call_form to FormB. FormB may return to FormA. FormA allows users to enter the Query parameters and perform query Search to the database table with a list of search results afterward; whereas FormB allows users to add or delete the same database table records. Both form images are as follows:
    FormA:
FormA call_form to FormB by clicking PB “Daily Work Report” (see circled PB "Daily Work Report" in the above image.)
FormB Image (FormB allows users to add and delete database records):
FormB EXIT_FORM and returns to FormA (see circled PB "DWR Selection" in above image).
Currently, our users must press the PB “Search” on FormA each time to refresh the Query “Search” results after returning to FormA, and they request to have the "Search" done automatically/programmatically upon return to FormA each time when the database table is updated.
If you have programming code on this and are willing to share or if you have any suggestion or thoughts on this, it would be most greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot & Happy Holidays!

Thanks so much Andreas, and yes, your link for calling a form and passing a context is very helpful. I believe, your suggested use of the global variable for the saved database table will work for the automation of the Query Search. is there a simple way to activate the code in the "WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED" Trigger for the PB-Search of FormA? Or
is there a simple way to activate the EXECUTE_QUERY(ALL_RECORDS) command in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE-trigger or other trigger(s) of FormA ?

  • How to recover the query

    Hello,
Kindly tell me how to recover the query?i have make some changes in my current query and now when i run my query it is not running, not executing,..so i want to recover same query ..is there any way by which i can recover my query?plase tell me.( i had added one condition in my query ,caz of that my query is not open in query designner,in analyser)

    Hi,
The error message is due to some special char in condition.
Please check the table RSZRANGE in SE16 for your query.Check either LOW or HIGH
The range defined here could be problematic. For values which should indicate most likely minus infinity, the new Query Desginer has a special handling. So here is the problem only how to open such query. We can offer 2 different fast solutions:
    1. Convert this query back to 3.x format using report COMPONENT_RESTORE and open it in Query Designer 3.x
Change the definition of the exception from -1E+value to any number and save the query.
Open the same query in Query Desginer 2004s and return the minus infinity using '#' sign. Save the query.
2.Select this record directly the table RSZRANGE using SE16
Find the field low or high..change it to #.
Save the record and try to open this query once again using Query Desginer 2004s. It will be possible and the exception will be working in the range from minus infinity to your number.

  • How to find the NodeManager Status using WLST

    Hi All,
can anyone please let me know how to find the nodemanager status using wlst, the nodemanager status whether it is 'Reachable' or not.
    Thank you.

    Hi Bob,
As James pointed, we faced the same. We could not find any mbean to find the Node Manager Stat that we can monitor from Weblogic console.
The best I can suggest, use the below WLST command after connecting to 'Node Manager:
    nm()
Currently connected to Node Manager to monitor the domain xxxdomain.Grep for 'connected to Node Manager to monitor the domain <Your WLS domain name>' and if successfull, your node manager is UP & Connected other wise not 'Reachable'.

  • How to get the query values from the url in a servlet and pass them to jsp

    ok..this is the situation...
all applications are routed through a login page...
so if we have a url like www.abc.com/appA/login?param1=A&param2=B , the query string must be passed onto a servlet(which is invoked before the login page is displayed)..the servlet must process the query string and then should pass all those values(as hidden values) to the login jsp..then user enters username and pswd, then there should be another servlet which takes all the hidden values of jsp and also username and pswd, authenticates the user and sends the control back to that particular application along with the hidden values...
so i need help on how to parse the query string from the original url in the servlet, pass it out to jsp, and then pass it back to the servlet and back to the original application...damnn...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

ok..this is the situation...Sounds like you have a bad design on your hands.
You're going to send passwords in a GET request as clear text? Nice security there.
Why not start with basic security and work your way up?

  • How to improve the query performance in to report level and designer level

How to improve the query performance in to report level and designer level......?
Plz let me know the detail view......

first its all based on the design of the database, universe and the report.
at the universe Level, you have to check your Contexts very well to get the optimal performance of the universe and also your joins, keep your joins with key fields, will give you the best performance.
at the report level, try to make the reports dynamic as much as you can, (Parameters) and so on.
and when you create a paremeter try to get it match with the key fields in the database.
    good luck
