How to Recall same activity (Sub process) if time out error occurs ??

Hi ,
  how to recall activity/subprocess if error occurs for activiy ???
My use case is : I need to make vCO call from cpo (either using Webtarget or using Windows Powershell Script Activity) . if time out error occurs i need to make same call again . Can any one please help on this .
Thanks
SivaRam.

There is no inherently built in "recall" however this is not hard to do through content authoring.
If you believe this activity to fail a lot then I would do this...
*Setup a local boolean variable, default to false
*Set a while-loop to run while that local boolean is false
*When the activity runs if it's state is Succeeded or Not failed then set the boolean to true
That should accomplish what you want, however following a best practice I would be a max retry on there to limit the number of times it would attempt before you need to alert yourself that there could be an actual issue.

  • Processing dimension Time Out Error

    Hi All,
    I face an issue while processing one dimension "CUSTOMERINP',it throws a run time error timed out.
    But all other dimensions i'm able to process successfully,error occurs for ths specific dimension.
    In BW, transaction ST22, the apab run time error is " BPC_ADMIN 300 C TIME_OUT.
    Does anyone of you have any idea on this particular issue.
    Thank you so much!

    I think,While redirecting to the processing page AM Retention is needed.
    Although I am not very sure. Never used processing page.Please try this ...
    OAProcessingPage page=...//page declaration
    page.setRetainAMValue(true);

  • Process chains time outs and hangs with no error msg - in SP13

    Hi all,
    We are having all kind of weird problems after we patched our system with SP13. Our process chain time outs and hangs, but surprisingly we never get any error msg. And scarier part is, the problem seems to be intermittent. PC runs fine on some days and hangs on some.
    Further analysis into the dump – as below
    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRSSM" -
    in "RSSM_SLEEP_DEBUG".
    The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
    In the source code the termination point is in (Include) program "LRSSMU39".
    This refers to an issue that appears to have been addressed by OSS Note
    934648(meant for SP8). This notes also indicates to populate RSADMIN table to
    exclude "RSSM_SLEEP_DEBUG". Not sure if this note is valid for SP13? However we went ahead and populated the RSADMIN table.
    So now we have no clue what’s going on and where to fix the issue.
    As per SAP suggestion we applied the following notes:
    0000653996  Analyzing lock situations
    0000893563  Correction: Deadlock on completion of a remote chain
    0000994007  Corrections: Deadlock with external status query
    0001005481  Correction: Process successful, but there is no instance
    0001047174  Correction: Incorrect scope when locking in process chains
    0001051957  Correction: TIME_OUT during dialog confirmation of processes
    0001083660  Report for error stack analysis
    Nothing seems to help us. And SAP suggested a few options, which we implemented to no rescue.
    I’m sure that many of the customers have applied SP13, and want some feedback from them, if this is happening in their systems too?
    If so, how did you fix this issue?
    Or this situation is unique to us?Please note that no settings were changed as of SP13 to that of what they were in SP12(unless it is a side effect of the patch itself). Everything worked fine with SP12 and is still working on the BIP system. All the problems are in BIQ patched to SP13.
    Any pointers or insight would be appreciated. We have a customer msg open with SAP, and going back and forth, but nothing seemed to work as of today.
    Thanks,
    Voodi

    Not sure which OSS helped us get past the issue, as SAP asked us to apply a ton of notes. But along which the notes, SAP has some suggestions for us, which we think did the magic. After the implementation of the suggestin we never faced the same issue again. The suggestion by SAP:
    move the process chain callback in a batch job by executing
    program RSSM_TRACE_SWITCH and selecting the flag "verifcation
    of asynchronous processes - execute in batch".
    Lemme know if this doesnt fix the issue, I can give all the notes that SAP asked us to apply.

  • How do I trap a time out error on DataFinder

    Greetings
    I need to trap a time out error coming from datafinder.
    I tried vbs "On Error" but the Err.Description I get is  "The  operation Search was timed out".
    If I manually set the same query  on the GUI I get results back, but when using code on a long list of queries, sometimes I get a time out error and it stops the process.
    I want to capture this error and proceed to the next query but I would also like to have some more details.
    I am aware that I can tweak the timeout settings on the datafinder to increase the time, but the real problem I am chasing is a linear time increase I am observing on a list of thousands of queries.
    They start fast but I am observing a small increment of time added on each subsequent query and eventually it adds up to the point it returns the timeout error.
    The process takes many hours before I get an error, if any, so I would like to get as many details as possible.
    Is there any other way than using  "On Error Resume Next" that would give me more details?
    Also, has this linear time increase been observed before?
    Thank you

    Hi Jose,
    This isn't an answer to the question you're asking, but it might still help.  DIAdem 2015, which is in Beta right now, has a new query mode that returns only the desired property columns from a query-- not all properties (and parent properties) regardless of what's displayed.  This new query mechanism enables you to greatly exceed the old 32000 search result limit, and it generally runs something like 5x to 10x faster than the regular query method.  It's possible that with this new approach you could avoid altogether the timeouts you're currently struggling to trap.

  • How to avoid time out error in abap program

    How to avoid time out error in abap program
    based on performance wise i want please help

    Timeout occurs when a statement exceeds its time limit.To avoid this we need to tune the statements.
    I can give give you few tips for tune a select stament.
    1.The order of the feilds in the select statement should be same as the order of fields in the database table.
    2.It is always advisible to use the key fields when you are using the where clause.
    3. Sort the internal table while using the for all entreis statements.
    4.Use index in where clause if necessary.
    5.When you have a read statement user binary search but before this a sort statement should be there.
    6. Check your program with the Tcode ST05 and check which statement takes much time based on that tune that.

  • Parallel processing time out error

    Hi All,
    I am working on a scenario where in I am spawning two different parallel processe in a background job to calculate some entitlements.
    My problem is even when running the main program in background mode the parallel processes are always spawned in a new dialog work process as a result of which if the dialog processes run for more than 15 minutes I get a time out error for the parallel jobs.
    I understand that we cannot use the addition IN BACKGROUND TASK while doing the function call as we need the result from the function calls in the main program.
    Is there any way where I can call parallel jobs in a background workprocess or override the time out issue without changing the system parameter value.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Narsingh,
    By any chance did you got the solution, it would be great if you could share the solution for the issue you faced.

  • Process chains in red(errors occurred), monitoring in green

    Hi friends,I have same problems with the monitoring / process chains.
    For exemples in the Monitor for OMAT_SALES in the tab Status I have green for Total and Technical with the message:
       Data successfully updated
       Diagnosis
       The request has been updated successfully.
       InfoSource : 0MAT_SALES
       Data type : Texts
       Source system: PRD-600
    In the tab Details I have:
    -the Overall status in red, error occures or missing messages
    -the requests, extractions,transfers,processing-everything is Ok-green
    -the Process Chains-errors occurred-red
    In the transaction RSPC the infopackage for load data OMAT_SALES is red,the next infopackage in the chain is green.
    What can I do to fix this problem  for Process Chain in RSPC and also in Monitoring (tab Details)?
    I will apreciate any answer,
    Thanks,
    Claudia

    The next connected infopackage must be connected with Always link that's why its processed even after the failure node. Go and cross check what errors you got for the failed process, and reload it manually.

  • Does anyone know how to fix 'itunes could not backup the iphone an error occurred'?

    Tried absolutely everything suggested to remedy this very annoying Iphone 4s backup problem, wish Apple would just get round to fixing the problem that a lot of people seem to have for some time now, 'iTunes could not backup the iPhone because an error occurred' refuse to part with £25.00 to be told they don't know how to fix or they are not aware of the problem being so talked about on their support communities. Please please help, its been 4 months now and I have tried absolutely everything out there.

    You really tried EVERYTHING in that article? I'm impressed, it's a long list.
    The most common cause is a currupt current backup. Deleting the current backup should fix it if that's the problem. You need to delete it in iTunes Preferences, Devices tab. But with Windows unfortunately that isn't always enough. You need to use Windows Explorer to make sure the backup is completely gone, as the system call that deletes a folder sometimes fails to delete it completely. So open Explorer and make sure it's gone, and if it isn't delete it using Windows. The location is:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7/8:  \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press the Return key.
    There have also been reports that some apps prevent the backup from completing, probably because they create files that the backup program doesn't recognize. The most common offender reported is iZip.

  • How to download the OS update before it times out

    having issue getting the download to update phone from 4..2.1 to 4.3.3.  It says the download takes 3 hours; then with the last 51 minutes left it times out.  I have tried to just "downlaod" and the same thing happens.  I'm getting fustrated.  Is ther a workaround?
    Thanks,
    Lawanna

    If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
    Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
    * Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
    Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • Parallel processing and time-out

    Hi all,
    I've got a prob with doing a great number of postings.
    While the time elapsed for these postings is too long, I tried to do it with an function module and "IN BACKGROUND TASK". Well, there is also a alternative "STARTING NEW TASK".
    But I figured out, that these both variants are starting dialog work processes. I think there is a time out for dialog WP's of 300 seconds in standard.
    Will this timeout kill the processes or not??
    And witch alternative is the best to do some parallel processing??
    thanx in advanced
    regards
    Olli

    Hi Oliver,
    Some solutions here:
    1. You could increase the value of the dialog time-out (allthough this can only go to a maximum of 600 seconds). This parameter is in the SAP profiles (parameter name = rdisp/max_wprun_time).
    2. As suggested by Christian, decrease the amount of work within one LUW. You can do this by inserting (from time to time) a COMMIT WORK. This COMMIT WORK also resets the timeslice counter of the running dialog process (thus giving again an extra timeslice to work). The downside is, that if you have many related objects to modify, your ROLLBACK options become limited.
    3. Split the proces in several tasks and put the to work in the background (by scheduling jobs for them).
    4. Program your own parallel handler (see sample code). With this you could process document by document (as if each is done separately). The number of dialog processes (minus 2) is the limit you could use.
    Sample code:
    * Declarations
    CONSTANTS:
      opcode_arfc_noreq TYPE x VALUE 10.
    DATA:
       server       TYPE msname,
       reason       TYPE i,
       trace        TYPE i VALUE 0,
       dia_max      TYPE i,
       dia_free     TYPE i,
       taskid       TYPE i VALUE 0,
       taskname(20) TYPE c,
       servergroup  TYPE rzlli_apcl.
    * Parallel processes free check
    CALL 'ThSysInfo' ID 'OPCODE' FIELD opcode_arfc_noreq
                     ID 'SERVER' FIELD server
                     ID 'NOREQ'  FIELD dia_free
                     ID 'MAXREQ' FIELD dia_max
                     ID 'REASON' FIELD reason
                     ID 'TRACE'  FIELD trace.
    IF dia_free GT 1.
      SUBTRACT 2 FROM dia_free.
      SUBTRACT 2 FROM dia_max.
    ENDIF.
    * You must leave some dialogs free (otherwise no one can logon)
    IF dia_free LE 1.
      MESSAGE e000(38)
         WITH 'Not enough processes free'.
    ENDIF.
    * Prepare your run
    ADD 1 TO taskid.
    WRITE taskid DECIMALS 0 TO taskname LEFT-JUSTIFIED.
    CONDENSE taskname.
    * Run your pay load
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZZ_YOUR_FUNCTION'
      STARTING NEW TASK taskname
      DESTINATION IN GROUP servergroup
      EXPORTING
    *   Your exporting parameters come here
      EXCEPTIONS
        communication_failure  = 1
        system_failure         = 2
        RESOURCE_FAILURE       = 3
        OTHERS                 = 4.
    Of course you would put this within a loop and let your "payload" function fire off for each document.
    You MUST check the number of free processes just before you run the payload.
    And as last reminder: Do NOT use the ABAP statement WAIT (this will disrupt the counting of free processes).
    Hope this will help you,
    Regards,
    Rob.

  • How to use OMBPLUS activity inside process flow

    Hi, I’m using OWB 11.2.0.3.
    In a process flow, I need to use an OMBPLUS activity. When I run the process flow, it runs successfully and says: “Log file is available. Click Information button to view.”
    -Where is the log file, OWB is talking about?
    -Is there any sample of using OMBPLUS activity inside a process flow?

    So, I understand that I can't resume process flow in Control Center - only in Repository Browser. :)
