How to reconfig agent to use a different OMS server?

We are using OEM 10g Grid Control R3. We just installed it in a different MS window 2003 server. I am wondering how to reconfigure existing agents to use this new server instead of the old one.

Thanks for your response. Actually I followed note 413228.1 to configure one host to be showed up in this new OMS. But I can’t view the performance and top activity page for this single instance database. Sometimes I got blank page sometimes I got errors like “*Internal Error has occured. Check the log file for details*.” I looked into the emagent.trc file in the newly added agent host I see the following error message. Does anybody know anything about it? Ah, I should have made that clear. My domain didn't come from google. It was purchased at and is hosted at dreamhost, but I haven't used their email servers in years - I just route everything through gmail. I actually have a bunch of domains (with websites).
Gmail has an option that lets someone with custom domains send (and receive) email through gmail using the custom domain once Google confirms proper ownership of the domain (to prevent spammers and such). Gmail has a setting for "send email as" which allows gmail to be sent using a custom domain as the sender. I'm pretty sure Apple's old mobileme had this feature too, but I didn't use it.

I found on documentation that OAS Portal Configuration Guide would tell me how to use a different SSO Server than the one specified during install. I need to tell an existing Portal installation to use a new Identity Management infrastructure server I installed.
However, documentation does not mention anything related to that. It states that ptlconfig would do the trick, but ptlconfig instructions are not clear on how to accomplish this.
Could anyone that has done this before, help me out? Thanks in advance...

That is exactly what I am talking about, the ptlconfig does not model SSO components. So I assume it is incorrectly referenced on several points of documentation as a tool to work with SSO parameters or configuration.
I need to know how to tell my Portal to look at the new SSO server. If someone has done it before, please let me know.

How to execute a batch file on different remote server using TFS Build

I have a build server and have 2 web servers. I am deploying using TFS Builds. Now, I have a requirement to execute a batch file which is kept on these 2 web servers. i.e. C:\MyBatch\CreateMe.bat
After my build is successful, I need to execute this batch from the build server.
Note, I cannot make any shared folder.

How do you deploy solution using TFS Build, run MSBuild deploy command or using Release Management?
That C:\MyBatch\CreateMe.bat file stay on your two web server machines separately?
If you want execute this bat file on your two web server machines separately using build process template, you need configure your web server machine as build agent, then add the InvokeProcess activity in build process template to run the bat file on build

I am building an application in Java and would want to accesss a SharePoint List through REST. I have been trying to find out how the authentication process would work once i want to deploy it into Production.
I am not able to find anything useful to send user detail / authentication. Can you please help me out here.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to access SharePoint list from Java application through REST.
In some cases you may need to create a new access token (this is somewhat akin to "running as a different user").
Essentially, you are using a different user's security context. Typically, you would create an Active Directory account specifically for this purpose and then grant appropriate rights to the user account in SharePoint.

How to configure Ironport to Use an external Encrpytion server

Hi,
We would like to use an external encryption server to encrypt our emails.
The Ironport would still be the MX for our domain, and the encryption server would be in the same DMZ as the Ironport.
Here is the setup we would like to implement:
Incoming emails:
- Ironport check the connexion (senderbase)
- If encrypted (how to detect the mail as encrypted) the mail is not scan AV / SPAM
     - the is it goes to the decryption server
    - then back to Ironport to scan AV/spam
    - then goes to exchange
- If not encrypted the email is scanned AV/Spam
    - then goes to Exchange for delivery
Outgoing emails:
- Exchange to Ironport
- Scan AV/Spam
- If needs to be encrypted (with header detected)
     - then goes to encryption server
    - then back to ironport (no scan AV/Spam ) and delivery to Internet
-If does not need to be encrypted
      - then send to Internet
Is it possible to configure the Ironport to get this behaviour? and how? I still facing problems with the different flows....
Any idea would be very helpfull

For incomig mails you can create a message filter like the following one:
route_pgp_smime_encrypted_data:

JAZN-LDAP: Make use of different LDAP Server

Hi,
I am trying to make use of a different LDAP Server (other than OID)-- With OID i am able to authenticate users.
Now i need to make use of a different LDAP Server (For ex: SunONe Directory Server).. I have tried specifying the LDAP URL location of the new LDAP Server in the Orion-Application.xml as below
<jazn provider="LDAP" location="ldap://ldaphost:ldapport" />
But I see that the application is still defaulting to the OID and not making use of the LDAPserver specified above.
Also, i see that I am unable to modify the LDAP URL Location
In Step2 of Deploying an Application :
Deploy Application: User Manager : I have selected the option "Use JAZN LDAP User Manager"
But the LDAP Location is non-editable and which defaults to the OID location as the one below
LDAP Location ldap://OIDLDAPURL:PORT
Could ne1 throw some light on the issue i am facing..

Here are a few gotchas for active directory:
-if you plan to use the membership of the AD user to AD roles, set in orion-application:

in web.xml you should also define

If you run the application in the embedded OC4J it seems it takes this hint from other file that you can determine looking at trace you can make appear with option:
-Djazn.debug.log.enable=true (in jvm start command)
When running in embedded OC4J the application is called: current-workspace-app

How to configure sap to use gmail as smtp server?

Hi experts,
I need to know how to configure gmail as my smtp server. In the scot transaction I don't see anywhere where to specify whether it is a ssh connection, ports for secure smtp, username, password.
Does anyone know how to configure sap to use gmail as the smtp server?
I've seen some similar threads about this, but they are of no help. Although they are classified as answered, in most cases the reason they are answered is because the person who made the query dropped the cause trying to make it work. I'd like to know for sure is this is possible or not.

You can't set up gmail as your smtp server to handle this. gmail is an email server which generally are based on POP protocol. now for SAP to send mail to gmail, you would need one SMTP capable server which can relay those message received from SAP to configured email address.
As of WAS 6.10 SAP kernel supports SMTP without more components. i.e e-mails can be sent (or received) from the SAP system to each SMTP-compatible mail server. see SAP note 455140 for more details.

How to sync same iPhone using 2 different iTune libraries...

I have been trying to figure out how to sync my iPhone 4S to 2 different libraries.
The reason is that I have one library whichhas all my Apps, Books etc. that I keep on one external drive and the other just music as I take that other external drive to dj. As I get new music every day, I sync this to my iPhone so I can get to hear it when I am out.
I tried to open up one library to sync my Apps and books, then switch libraries by reopening iTunes just to sync music.
However it won't allow me as everytime I switch, say I synced the music first, upon opening up the Apps and Books library, it deletes my music (even when I don't have music synced - I am guessing it reads as wiping my music)
Is there a workaround to this?

Was a bit sad to read that I cannot do that, but I still tested it out. To my surprise, I have managed to find out by testing and testing that (thankfully) iTunes does let me sync with one device with 2 libraries.
As long as the music and books are synced on one library, and apps on the 2nd Library I was able to split the libraries up to two different external drives with their respective iTunes library folders.
It would have been perfect if I could just split the Music by itself as I didn't want the books on the same drive but I am happy nevertheless.
The only bad thing is that the syncing was tested on my iPhone and not my iPad which I don't need music... so I had to add dubplicate books in the library for the iPad with just Apps for my iPhone. Now I have to test whether it will sync my bookmarks between devices for the same books.

How to update my homepage, using a different computer

I have published a set of pages on Idisk from my home computer, using Iweb.
Now on my vacation I would like to add a couple of pictures to my homepage using my powerbook instead.
I therefore downloaded my current homepages from idisk but I can not convince Iweb to start using them. How can I persuade Iweb to start using my downloaded pages? They are stored in a folder, called ”Web”. If I let IWeb create a dummy page I could afterwards delete it and substitute it with my real folder and be in business again. The problem is that I can not find where Iweb stores its pages - I have a problem understanding the plist.
I have no access to my home computer until I come home again from vacation and it would be cool to tease my friends immediately with my waterfront pictures.

How do you send mail using a different email address

I have a BT yahoo mail account, (eg [email protected]) to which I have associated a domain name for my business use, (eg [email protected]). When I send a mail from my PC I can choose which email address to show in the from address, either my personal Btinternet account or my Business Name. However I don't have this option on the iPad. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so what's the solution.

Thanks no I don't have both accounts set up as the Business domain name is received and issued through the btinternet mail account. I've tried to set up a second account however this will not validate because they are both through the same mail account. Or am I missing something?

How to limit streaming bandwith using Flash media streaming server

Hello,
We have recently designed our audio streaming player
(designed in Flash) to stream mp3 content using FMS rather than
progressive download. Our goal was to reduce the waste of bandwidth
which occurs with progressive download - in cases where the player
loads the song and only a few seconds are heard, though the entire
song file is downloaded to the client computer which wastes
bandwidth. We thought using FMS and streaming the mp3s using
rtmp:// protocol would reduce our bandwidth usage.
However this has not happened. Our bandwidth is slightly
lower but not significantly so. Seems like FMS is also downloading
the entire song even though a listener maybe only a few seconds
from the beginning of the song. The bandwidth charts are
essentially the same as compared with progressive download which
was simply using
http:// with the mp3 content on a web server.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how we can make changes
to FMS in a config file or console where we can set the streaming
server to only download a few seconds beyond where the player is
listening? It just seems like we are at no advantage with FMS in
terms of decrease in bandwidth which was our major reason to go
forth with this technology.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

...........ok perhaps I wasnt clear in my original post.
I get that the 4g connection is going to use the best possible connection speed which will essentially stream the video inside the app in HD.
This uses a considerable amount of data.
I'm wondering if there is an app out there that will let me control the streaming speed, throttle if you will, the speed of the connection so that i dont burn through my entire months data usage (12GB's) by watching 2 games.
