How to remove guided procedure instances?

Hi
how do I permanentely remove all terminated and completed guided procedure instances? I am extensively testing and accumulating lots of old instances.

Hi Bettina,
What you need to do is to go to the Administration workset and choose Archiving and Deleting -> Maintain Process Templates from the contextual panel.
In the Global Settings tab page you can define such general settings for deleting or archiving process instances, such as for example archiving process older than 2 weeks or deleting completed process.
In addition, you can define specific settings for specific templates. Go to the Process Template Settings tab page, there browse and select the process you want to delete.
On the Custom Settings for Process Instance panel, you have to specify settings for the process if you want to define custom settings.
In addition to scheduled archiving and deleting of instances, you can start an archiving or deleting operation for selected process instances instantly. Again in the Administration workset, go to Archiving and Deleting
-> Start Archiving.

Hi Sridhar,
You can definitely remove an instance completey. When you select uninstall option using sapinst, it will give you a list of running instances on the node using profile files.
You can select which one to uninstall.

How to remove a FLVPlayback Instance?

Hi...after searching everywhere it seems as though the best
way to avoid multiple problems with playing multiple FLV's in
sequence is to remove the FLVPlayback instance and then reattach
one. Problem is....how do you do it...ha!
I attach it to a mc using the attachMovie method as described
in the livedocs like so:
mymainmc.attachMovie("FLVPlayback", "vPlayer", 0,
{_x:-419.50, _y:-199.60, width:438.4, height:328.8});
I get it to stop and go away by so:
mymainmc.vPlayer.stop();
mymainmc.vPlayer.unloadMovie();
However I can't attach a new one since if I do a list objects
debug "vPlayer" is still there. Sorry...was up late troubleshooting
the other issue and I'm probably not awake yet for this easy
question.

I've run a few tests with the Debugger panel, and the only
FLVPlayback
object I see (after a MovieClip.unloadMovie() removal) is the
Component
property in the _global object, which is where all AS classes
go. Try
followed my Component removal with ...
delete _global.FLVPlayback;
... and ...
_global.FLVPlayback
... neither of which seems to do anything.
Have you considered this? Create a Library asset (a movie
clip symbol)
with an FLVPlayback instance in it, and attach *that* rather
than attaching
merely FLVPlayback. When it's time to "hit the reset button,"
so to speak,
drop the whole movie clip wrapper and re-attach as desired.
It may not put
you any further than you are, but it's easy to try and worth
the shot.

How to export Guided procedure - Initiator to RFC as an export parameter

Hi All,
How do I capture the Initiator, Owner and Oversee of my Guided procedure and bind it as an output parameter of a Callable object?
I need to this information to be sent to RFC so that I can perform the dynamic agent determination and send the agent back to Guide procedure.

Based on the UI dialog for Export XML, it looks like you'll first want to set an XMLExportPreference to copy either optimized or formatted images, and then choose and image type. So,
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.copyFormattedImages = true;
or
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.copyOptimizedImages = true;
followed by
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.imageConversion = ImageConversion.JPEG
or
objDoc.xmlExportPreferences.imageConversion = ImageConversion.PNG

That should get you started. You may need to play with some other options to get the output you want, but that's the idea.

How to setup Guided Procedure Monitoring in NWA?

Hi I have NW2004S patched to SP11.
When trying to open the Guided Procedure Monitoring in NWA
NWA, Monitoring>Guided Procedures
I get the following error:
Guided Procedures JMX provider is stopped in the target system. Start cafeugpmodeljmx~eap application

Cannot retrieve basic info: :name=BasicInfoProvider,component=cafeugp not in repository
However, the application cafeugpmodeljmx~eap when you go to NWA applications tab.
Any suggestions on what must be done to configure the monitoring?
I need to do this to monitor / debug the GP.

Go into Visual Administration and check if the application has been started. The path is Services -> Deploy -> Monitoring Configurator. Expand that and see if the jmx.eap application is running. If not, then start the application.

I think you can do this if you remove the entries of your Instance from instance.properties file located under the below path.Take a backup of the file first then do the changes and Restart the server once done.
/usr/sap/SID/JCInstanceno/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties

We have Guided Procedures Integrated with the UWL for Workflow and some Workitems got deleted accidentally for all users . Is there a way those workitems can be recovered ?

The tasks may still be available in Guided Procedures --> Runtime --> Task that require my Action.
If they have been deleted from here also, it will not be possible to retrieve them.

Here are some further details. If images could be attached to this forum then I would have included some screenshots, but this forum only allows text.
1. Set up regular name substitution (See the sections "Set up substitution" and "Substitute the actual value of a variable for its text" in the OPM Help article "Change the text of an interview question or sentence").
2. In the Properties file, double-click on the entity. This will open the Edit Entity dialog.
3. In the Edit Entity dialog, fill in the Identifier field with the variable you're using for the regular name substitution.
4. Click OK and you're done!

I'm using the designer from Acrobat professional instead of the designer from Adobe LiveCycle.
I've got Acrobat professionnal 7.0.0 and trying your sample it didn't function.
Knowing that there was a new version of Acrobat professional (7.0.7)I've installed it, and now your sample function.
I have to mention that the count method is not listed in the choice menu that appears when you're typing code inside the designer. It means that some functions have to be tryed even if the popup menu of the list of available methods doesn't mention it.. (in this case it's the count method)... :-)
There are a lot of things like that (for example there is the checkbox problems that are not good managed before Acrobat Reader 7.0.7, and Acrobat professional 7.0.7)
So I suggest to the developpers that are reading this post to always install the last version of Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Professionnal, Designer, in order that everything goes well with the product.

Did you install the Adobe LiveCycle Designer. if its no it will be available in http://service.sap.com/swdc.
Procedure :
1. In Adobe LiveCycle Designer, Create a new Form template
2. Go to the Body Pages tab page, and create the following Text fields
      -- To create a text field, use menu Insert -> Standard -> TextField.
     -- To modify its binding name, use menu Object--> Binding
     -- To modify the value type, use menu Object --> Value
3. Create a button with the folowing parameters using menu Insert > Standard> button
4. You can enhance the layout of your form template.
5. Finally save the template as MyFirstFormProcess.xdp and close it.
In Guided Procedures:
Procedure:
1. Launch GP design time and choose Create Callable Object from the contextual panel.
2. Enter the following data: like
       Type                  : select Interactive Form
       Name                 : enter CO4 : Application Data Form
      Description          : enter a brief descrioption of the Callable object ,as shown in the example below.
    Original Language   : choose English
     Location               : Choose folder My First Process
3. Choose Next.
        a) To select the form template that you have created , choose Change
        b) Browse the file system to select the file.
        c) For Template Adapter, choose Adobe Forms.
        d) For Language, choose English
        e) For Encoding, select the same encoding that you used when you created the form template.
        f) Choose OK.
4. Choose Next.
5. Choose Next.
6. Choose Next.
7. Choose Next and then Finish and Open.
8. Choose Activate Callable Object from the contextual panel.

Dear Bettina,
this will be a feature of NetWeaver CE 7.2.
Until then it simply is not possible.
There is one workaround, you can use the SingleTask view of a Process Instance, which however will show ONLY the action itself, without the Process Title, or the Ctx Panel or the Phase Navigator.
If this works for you, I can guide you how to achieve it.

1. Create a Web Dynpro Poroject (Ideally create a DC , but if you don't have NWDI setup a project will do).
