How to restrict data that is displayed in adf query

Hi all,
i have a VO with query criteria, which i have added to the jsf page as adf query panel with table. There may be particular queires that return large number of records. Suppose i want to restrict the number of records being displayed to 10,000. Is this possible with jdeveloper 11g? How can it be done? pls advice.

You can do this, open the VO Editor go to sql statement option add this code inside the where clause:
and rownum <= 10000 -- limit your query.

I have no idea which component you're talking about. If want to discuss here about a non-Sun JSF component, then please mention about the name, version and build in detail. You can also consider posting this question at the website/forum/mailinglist of the component manfacturer rather than here. At least I can tell you that the Sun JSF h:dataTable has the 'rows' attribute for that. I can also suggest you to just take a look in the TLD documentation of the component in question. There should be all possible attributes listed with a detailed explanation about the behaviour.

How to restrict data by using a variable in webi

My users need to see only previous day data when they open the webi but should have ability to view older data later.
How can I do that?
I tried =MAX(Day([Creation Date]) In Report)
But its not giving me right results.

I tried to follow steps given in the following link but failed as we have Teradata as data source and I dont know how to write a syntax for teradata similar to what is explained by Dave.

How to restrict data in reports for different users...

i created a monthly_sales report on XYZ_SALES_FACT table
i have to give restriction on reports based on the users.
i.e. user_1 will access only NORTH region sales info on monthly_sales report
user_2 will access only SOUTH region sales info on monthly_sales report etc.
Note: my client is not agreeing to create multiple reports based on the user/region.
how i have to give user restriction on report based on the users?

You can create a VPD policy and then create a login trigger and pass SSO client_indentifier or database session_user (use if/then/else to protect both)

How to handle data that got from SAP by Webservice?

Hi, Gurus.
I am working on IFbA with ABAP and Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
I've developed a function module in R/3 system and created webservice, connected the WSDL address to the form. The problem is how can i handle data that got from SAP by Webservice?
It's Ok if i bind the dataconnection node to the form element, but how can i handle data without binding to the form element? I mean that how can i use the data retrieved from Webserivce in the Javascript, please give me some sample code or script method.

If you are using Web Service, then the binding will be done automatically.
It can't grow automatically, what else should i do to achieve this?
1.Select the table(make sure you are not selecting subform) in Hierarchy view
2. Under table select the Row which is having the required fileds for data
3. In the Binding of that row, check the checkbox "Repeat Row for each item data" and under that check the Min Count which will set the default row **** to 1

How to format date/time in display hints?

To those of you who know it:
One of the attributes in a VO is of Date type. To display of the date in the format of "10/25/2009 11:45 PM", I only managed to display "10/25/2009 11:45" with only the clue of the few examples provided in display hints when doing the formatting (the format mask I use is MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm). I would appreciate it if someone could advise how to display the AM/PM part of the format mask. Or better yet, point me to a source of reference for such formattnig.

As suggested by Puthanampatti, you have to use 'a' in the date pattern to display AM/PM.
You can find date and time patterns in [SimpleDateFormat API doc|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html] which describes more about the letters to be used for each pattern which you can also use with attribute display hints in VO.

How to keep data that is in Palm Desktop

I have more than 10 years of data in Palm Dekstop and my Palm Vx. The Palm Vx is getting pretty shaky. What options to I have to replace it without losing my data?

You can replace the handheld with another model and when you do you will need to change the hotsync conduits to desktop overwrites handheld and then sync your data. Before you sync I would suggest the procedure below for backing up your data. This procedure will not export any categories you have setup in Palm desktop.
The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each component in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.

With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

Create variable as =Userresponse("Enter value for Month")same text as you are giving in the Prompt text....Name it as [UMonth]

TELL ME HOW MANY ROWS YOU HAVE IN TABLE?
Because you have only *6 rows* in you column, if you less than 10 rows then it displays only containied/exist rows. nothing much

How to restrict data from tables in a view cluster

Hi,
I have 5 Z* tables, Company code is the common code in all of these.
I have created a view cluster on these five tables.
My requirement is to viewcluster should display the data of the user's company code.
When i see the data in SE54 it is showing the proper data(i.e data which is related to users company code) for some of the tables.
And displaying all company codes data for some of the tables.
What can be the issue here ?
Do we need to map the data from proper data displaying tables to these tables ? if so How to do that ?
Please help on how i can solve this issue.
