HOW to Restrict the input Help for 0MATERIAL in the BPS Layout

Hi,
I have requirement to Restrict the input Help for 0MATERIAL in the BPS Layout.
For Example if the Planning Package is Restricted to SALES ORGANISATION ( 3000 ) then the system shuold check the 0MAT_SALES where SALES ORGANISATION IS "3000" )AND PASS THE Material Numbers to the 0material list.
I have Copied the standard Funtcion group "UPF_VARIABLE_USER_EXIT" to Z fucttion and have attached to Z Variabe as User Exit .
this Variable is Attached to 0material in the Planning Pakage. So tha now the 0MATERIAL is restricted to the variable which is having the User Exit.
But how to acces the Values of Planning Package for which the Layout is bein Executed from this Z User Exit ???
I Know how to restrict the input help, but my only problem is that how to get the values of Planning package through this User Exit.
Please suggest if it is possible.

Hi Nilesh,
As I understand from your question,you know how to restrict but the issue is to know the value in the package with which you need to restrict.
There are two tables which can help you finding the value used in package for sales organisation:
1. UPC_PACKAGE
2. UPC_OPTIOS
How to use ?
From UPC Package you will get one GUID, Hit the second table UPC_OPTIOS with this GUID.
In field "FIELDNAME" enter the name of the characteristic whose value is req (sales organisation in your case)

Hello,
In BPS 3.0b, I created BPS variables with user exit in order to restrict the values in the input help of a characteristic (related to the value selected by user of another variable for example).
In IP, I know that BPS variables are not used anymore and we have to create BI variables. But I don't know how to restrict the values of an input help in BI. I tried with the user exit RSR00001 but I didn't manage.
may be is there a possibility to reuse BPS variables ?

How to implement the input help at web for the input ready query?

Dear all,
As you konw when we create the input ready query for Planning, we can insert the new record for plan with Analyzer tool. We also can use input help(double clike the space) for input the master data.
I want to konw when I use Web Appliaction Designer to run the query at the web, How can I use the input help for planning data.
My customer request me must implement the input help function at web.

I have a parameter on the selection screen.
P_layout like disvariant-variant value check.
How do I provide input help for this parameter and also how do i check wheather the input entered is correct or not.

You can create a serch help for the field and add it in program like:
P_layout like disvariant-variant match-code object 'Searche help name'.
then if you need to do any validation u can do it at selection screen:
like:
at selection-screen for P_layout.

Timeout on input help for variable

hi all,
in a selection screen of a report i have material and material type(navigational attribute of material) as input.
the report is built on cube.
only material is coming in cube.
when i click on input help for material type the screen hangs on the report times out.
whereas on the other hand if i am clicking help for material i am getting the values.
this variable is used in other queries on different infoprovider and is running fine there.
How do i get the values for input help for material type.
all the standard settings have been maintained(such as query filter selection etc...)

Hi,
Activate 0material masterdata.and Regenerate your query in RSRT.
If the problem still exists then debug the query using RSRT for the perticular field output.

Limiting the value help for a user input variable as required

Hello Gurus,
I have a requirement :-
Restrict the value help for a user input variable in a query to only a required set of values instead of the default behaviour. ie instead of having all the values in the master data of that characteristics in the value help.
How do I go about it? - Do I have to explore the precalculated value set feature?
If so, please tell me how to go about it in BI 7.I would appreciate if you could explain it in detail rather than sending me a URL because I have gone through most of them but Iam yet to figure out how to create the broadcast setting and subsequent steps.

I believe if the User doesn't want to see any particular values in F4 help then it means they are not intrested in viewing the transaction data related to those values.
So why don't you restrict that object with the required values. Then the F4 help will automatically display only those values.

To read the 'Input help with fixed values' of domain , you can use the function module : HR_P_GET_FIXED_VALUE_TEXT.
iIf you enter the domain name, you will find the fixed values entered in the domain.
These values are stored in a table DD07L(DD zero 7 L). Here the values are stored based on domain name.

I am not sure if I understood the question,but if you meant how to attach a search help to parameter for which a default search help is not available,you can do that by using addition "Matchcode Object"
Parameter: a type i matchcode object 'Search Help Name'
Search Help name should be in single quotes.

Here I have created table with cell editors of INPUT FIELD .
And I would like to provide the f4 help for those columns .
Here I have checked the node , which i have binded to the table, there input help mode is set to Automatic and search helps are also attached for that node .
But in the table I am not getting the F4 help . Where as if i create the input fields invidually i am able to see the F4 help .
But for table column I am unable to find..
Help me regard this...

Hi,
In debugging , the I have seen the node info attributes list ( VALUE_HELP_ID and VALUE_HELP_MODE ) .
For you understanding, Here I am giving the values which contains ,
VALUE_HELP_ID contains the AUTO:VBUK
                                                AUTO:VBUP
                                                AUTO:MAT1
                                                AUTO:H_T023
and
VALUE_HELP_MODE contains the all Zeros for all the four attributes .

How to get the F4 help for a field in the selection screen

I am working on a report program. In the selection screen, I have the field 'Brand Node ID'(ZNODEID). The requirement is to have the F4 help for this field. This field is available in a 'Z' table ZNODETAB. There is no Value table maintained for the corresponding data element. So, without disturbing the table data element/domain, I should get the F4 help in the selection screen of the report. In the F4 help, data should be fetched from the table ZNODETAB and the field is ZNODEID. Is there any way to do this.
By searching the function modules, I could find that, we can use the FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST. But, I am not Sure. Can someone tell me the parameters to be passed to this function module to get the F4 help and the procedure to follow. S_NODEID is the select option used in the program. Please help me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

As suggested,this will help you.
RSDEMO_TABLE_CONTROL
If you observed,then you can find that the particular field is maintained as listbox.
In PBO,populate the required values into internal table.
After that loop at the internal table and put it in table control.
The follg. part of code explains it.
LOOP at sdyn_itab into sdyn_sdw4 WITH CONTROL TABLE_CONTROL.

Sort values in input help for variables

Hi there,
Users often get annoyed by the input help in our web-reports. As the data in the InfoProvider grows, the variable values in the input help screens gets over-populated.
Often old values (eg. 0CALMONTH) are displayed first and users have to scroll trough 8 blocks of values before they get the value they are looking for.
It is kind of a practical issue, but does any of you know how to sort the values in the input help screen?

I can suggest you one way but i am not sure it will work in your scenario.
Where ever you have used variables. Lets say 0CALMONTH.
You must have restricted this with some variable.
Goto The Property of 0CALMONTH(By right clicking) and check the sort property.Also select you want to sort on Key/Text.

Hi Selvakumar,
we can resrict the PO to have a single delivery date in all the line items by means of giving a error message or overwiting the delivery date keyed/determined in the line item.
You can use the BADI -> ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. In which you need to implement the method PROCESS_SCHEDULE.
(for technical aid - This method will be called for each and every PO line item, From the imporing parameter im_schedule we can get all the details of current PO line, even we can change the data in the current PO line. )

For creating a Generic extractor based on a FM, you first of all need to know what is going to be your structure.. i.e. what all fields you need to pull from what all tables. A functional consultant may help you identify the exact DB tables.
Once you know them, hand over the requirement and the pdf mentioned by Krishna to the ABAP guy, he would be able to take this up further.
Also decide 1st whether you would be using a full load or delta. There is a slight difference in the way they are built.

I have a selection screen with field species and checkoff activity .
For a given species('sc','sb' or 'ss') , the input values allowed for the
check off activity must be 'SCCK' for species 'SC' ,'SBCK' for species 'SB' and so on.
I need to provide input help for check off activity based on the value of the species.How do i do that?
