How to run a java project based on x86 Windows XP on Windows CE?
I am a freshbird of J2ME and i am very confused these days.I beg you can look this topic thoughout.
I used to configurate a Java Project File about SIP&VOIP successfully, and I can run it well on my PC .
Now I want to migrate the project to a Mobile OS,and problems comes.
I have installed the Windows CE 5.0 Evalution Edition on my machine(Windows XP SP2) and it works fine.I search it online for days ,and I download almost all related including CLDC(j2me_cldc-1_1-fcs-src-winunix.zip),MIDP(midp-2_0-fr-spec.zip<==Maybe this is not the right one beacuse it don't have a bin folder),and J2ME Wireless Tool KIt(j2me_wireless_toolkit-2_2-ml-windows.exe).
I have configrate the enviroment-variable already , but I don't kown what to do next . Do you kown? I would be very thankfull.
You need to completely rewrite the app to use the mobile APIs as they're very different from the PC ones, I suppose.

How to Debug a Java Project in Eclipse using Tomcat6.0
Hi
Can anybody help me with the following questions.
1.How to create a java project in eclipse(I am using jsp, servlets, jsf, spring, jasper, struts).
2.How to debug my application in Eclipse Europa by putting break points.
3.how should i add Tomcat6.0 to my project in order to debug my application so that i can put break points while running the applications and observe the values.
Thanks
BalaYou may find this tutorial useful regarding to JSF, Eclipse and Tomcat: http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/01/jsf-tutorial-with-eclipse-and-tomcat.html
To put breakpoints, just doubleclick on the left gray rule of the code, you'll get blue bullets at the left rule, indicating a break point. Run Tomcat in debug modus (rightclick Tomcat debug). Use the Eclipse debug perspective to step in the code (window open perspective debug). -

Running eclipse java project on command prompt
Hi all,
I have one simple java project and that is very well running in eclipse. I have added some external JARs to that project. It performs this job- it creates connection to server, and listens to the signals from server.
My question is - how do I run that java project on command prompt?*
I want to run that using ANT or simply I want to make a JAR file so I can execute JAR on command prompt. I created JAR, but it doesn't contain external jar which I added to the project. So I was not able to run that project.
Can you please tell me any of the method - using ANT or by making JAR?
Also can you be little bit more explanatory in reply?
ThanksI want to make a JAR file so I can execute JAR on command prompt. This is very likely a good way to proceed. It is explained in great detail in Sun's Tutorial in the section on [Packaging Programs in JAR Files|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/index.html].
I created JAR, but it doesn't contain external jar which I added to the project. So I was not able to run that project.Yes - the jar file you create has to know about the classes and other resources in that external jar. Otherwise, at runtime, the program will not be able to get at the stuff it needs. Usually you don't include that other jar (or its contents) in the jar file you are creating. Instead you provide your jar file with a manifest that describes the other jar's location. Details are also in the tutorial.
One thing to note is that Sun's tutorial provides a lot of explanatory, conceptual, material. To that end it keeps the context simple and transparent by describing the steps as they would be carried out by someone working at the command line. The Eclipse documentation and forums might provide a more click-this-drag-that "explanation". If you do follow the method in the Tutorial and get stuck, post a description of the actual commands you used and their outcome. -
How to run a java program in another folder
Hello!
I want to run for example the java class file in the path ./sourcecode/javafile.class. It works fine if I do the following:
cd sourcecode
java javafile
but it cannot work if I do:
java sourcecode/java
The error it outputs is NoClassDefFoundError.
Can someone tell me how to run a java program in another folder
thanks a lot.You need to specify the classpath using the -cp flag when running. so instead of
"java sourcecode/javafile"
Try
"java -cp sourcecode javafile" -
Hi
Does anyone know How to run twin monitors on a MacBook Pro operating on a Windows Server 2008 R2 ?I know this doesn't help you much, but, I think you have to see if your Mac pro does audio out via HDMI. I don't even know if mine does via DVI. I think it may have to do with the adapter. Try going into Audio MIDI and setting the digital out to multichannel
and using the toslink cable for now. Lemme see...apparently DVI does not carry audio at all. Hm. apparently monoprice could be helpful? If I understand what you're saying correctly: you want to take DVI and multichannel audio via the Toslink and have it all go out over HDMI, right? Whooo..... amazon...looks like it's about $100http://www.amazon.com/Audio-SPDIF-Toslink-Converter-Adapter/dp/B0015YYOQQ
just a shot in the dark
I'm probably wrong....or not

How to run a java program without Java Compiler
I have a small project and I want share it with my friends but my friend'pc have not
Java compiler.
for example, I writen a application like YM, then 2cp can sent, receive messege. My cumputer run as Server, and my frien PC run as client.
How can my friend run it? or how to create an icon in dektop tu run a java program..??..
(sorry about my English but U still understand what i mean (:-:)) )To run a program you don't need a Java compiler. Just the Java Runtime Engine. That can be downloaded from the Sun website and comes with an installer.
You could then turn your application into an executable jar file and start it somehow like jar myYM.
There is also software that packs a Java program into an executable file. I've never used that but one that comes to my mind is JexePack. It's for free if you can live with a copyright message popping up every time you start the program.

I hv study the Java and need advice if I want to start a project , how should I ?
I hv study the Java and need advice if I want to
start a project , how should I ?What sort of answer are you expecting to this question?!?! It depends what you have got already. Maybe you decide to start a project based on some gap in the market. Maybe its because someone has asked you for something. Maybe its for fun. Maybe its an existent project that needs re-writing. These are all different situations, and all realistic for the single programmer to encounter. Either be more specific or you won't get anything more out of this thread. -
How to run a Java EE client application ?
Greetings,
I have a Java EE Application Project created with Eclipse (OEPE) and I don't know how to run it ? I asked the question on the OEPE forum but didn't manage to have any pertinent answer. I have also looked at Developing Java EE Application Clients (Thin Clients) in the Programming Stand-alone Clients book and tried to use commands as weblogic.clientDeployer and weblogic.j2eeclient.Main but haven't been able to get them working. And anyway, they are not done to be used in Eclipse as I didn't find any ant tasks for them.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

How to run any java file...
i want to run .java file..
suppose i have some classes then i want to run those classes by providing just the name of the class..
my program should run any .class file by just selecting the name of the class..rajeev-usendi wrote:
it can be any .class file..
it can have a main method() or init()...
basically i want to execute that .class file and dynamically i want to access its variables which has been defined public..Why don't you just "execute" these class files within the program itself and keep the class files within the same project/jar file? Call the methods dynamically to access it's variables.
I think could run any .java file by implementing it as Runnable and starting them as threads from the main program. I'm not sure how you'd get it to the poitn where you could .start() it though. -
URGENT: How to run a Java program from a different directory?
Hi.
How do I run a Java program from a directory that the file is not located in? So lets say im in c:\Java. But the file is in c:\Java\abc\efg\.
What would be the command to run the Java file from c:\Java.
I can't remember it and I need it asap.
Cheers. If the class you are trying to run is MyApp.class, try
c:\Java\>java -cp abc\efg MyAppThe actual classpath you specify will depend on whether or not MyApp.class is in a package (I've assumed it isn't) and whether or not any 3rd party jars are involbed (I've assumed not).
Edited by: pbrockway2 on Apr 1, 2008 6:42 PM
The command arguments read as "Run the MyApp class using as a classpath abc\efg relative to here (c:\Java)". -
How to run standalone java file from weblogic server on Solaris
Hi,
We have a requirement to run a java file at a scheduled time in a day using cron scheduler on our linux server.
We need to fetch data from the database & perform some business logic in this standalone JAVA file.
Our application has an EAR which is deployed on Weblogic 10.3 server & in our application, we are utilizing the datasource created in that domain.
Now, we have created a standealone Java file & used exisitng datasource (without Hibernate) of the domain with the help of below forums,
Use DataSource of weblogic in a standalone Java file
able to achieve the same.
I've bundled this JAVA in application WAR & depoyed on the same domain where datasource is created.
Now, how can I execute this file from anywhere on the server using weblogic classpath.
Please help on the same in implementation.
Thanks,
UttamIf the Java application must be stand-alone you must not deploy it on WebLogic, then WebLogic will manage its lifecycle.
In this case you can use the CommonJ API and use the timermanager if it must run on a certain time. More information
of how to do this can be found here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=5569
If you keep the Java application stand-only and want to use a cron job you can follow the example presented here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7065
Note that the example runs a WLST script, but you can follow the same steps to run your Java application. -
How to run a java program remotely
hi,
i have a simple hello-world java program on my windows machine.
is it possible to run this program remotely from a linux server?
any suggestions, links to suggestions will be helpful. thanks!i think that would be a problem for me, so i will need to use some other approach. what i'm trying to do actually is that we have a university server which is set up so that students can have combination fo shell and cgi scripts in their home directory and with that, they can have web pages.
but students cannot use that server to run java applications. so to work around that, i was hoping that i can have my java application, and the database on my own windows machine, and be able to invoke the java program from the shell script on the linux server and once i have my ouptut, i can display that on the web page with CGI script.
is there any other practical approach that i can use to accomplish the above?
