HD is dying, maybe? - how to save apps and system?

My HD clicks - but I really think it's clicked for the past 6 years since we got it.
Local store says it's time to replace HD, they heard it click over the phone. How do we transfer data easily to a new HD once we have one put in the tower? [I love my OS 9.1 and hope to continue using it, along with upgrading to Tiger and getting more memory and another HD added.]
I have copied [drag and drop] all the files onto a LaCie 500GB HD [formatted for OS 9 and X] to transfer them to the new MacBook Pro.
Should I also try to copy [draganddrop] all the applications in my application folder and the System Folder. Will these be useful when we try to get all the info back onto a new HD? [I don't know the technical term for what we need to do - sorry]
When I tried to copy the system folder yesterday, the screen froze with only 1 minute left to copy of a 5 minute copy event - the tech support help at the store bailed me out! [The day before I copied a photo folder that took 25 minutes to do without a hitch]
Now, I'm scared to even use the G4 to prevent it from dying before I can get a new HD - but I have a lot of work to do on it and not on the MBP. Is is possible it really has been clicking for years, and I shouldn't worry just yet - I have to get the current work I'm doing done before I give it up the G4 for repairs - and hopefully before it dies.
So - do I try risk copying the system folder and apps? [or is this irrelevant as one guy at the store said]
-do I stop using the G4 because it will be easier to put the system back together on a new HD it the old HD isn't dead?
-am I being hysterical and the HD isn't going to die in the next month - giving me time to finish this project???

The Mac OS 9.1 Update can be found here. As for copying a pre-OS X hard drive, I start with the System folder first, followed by the Applications folder, then the Documents, Utilities, Apple Extras, and CD Extras folders. Because many programs install resources within the System folder, that one is essential to accurately copy without any glitches. If the hard drive has a mechanical or electronic issue that affects the ability of the heads to traverse the hard disk platter(s) and read data, you could experience data corruption. If that occurs, you'd need to reinstall the applications from their original installer programs. I really think you'd be better off taking the time to reinstall the OS and assorted programs, so that you begin with a clean slate. It will take more time, but is probably worth the extra effort. When you download a program installer, I'd recommend copying it to some type of removable media device, so that it's available for future use.

How to save a customized format and save it as default template for all reports?

Another option is, if you want to FORCE global stylesheet for ALL users. You can update the WebIDefaultStyleSheet.css located in \SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\images\ folder.

If the output is sapscript, you can convert it into PDF format . There is one standard report RSTXPDFT2 to convert into PDF .
Before Execute you will have to create a spool request . when you will execute this report you will have to enter the
spool no. Then you can send this PDF file as attachment.

When you say spreadsheet, I'm assuming MS Excel.
In MS Excel, File -> Save As. In Save as type, choose "CSV (Comman delimited) (*.csv)".

There is no out of the box solution for formating the char like your issue.
In my opinion you can solve it by using some udfs and a small procedure which create the special format.

1.on itunes sync you ipod and it will backup.
2. if you have a new ipod restore it and when its done i will say configure device and it will give you 2 choices 1 setup as new ipod 2 restore from a backup click restore from a backup and click your old ipod backup and it will put all the settings from your old ipod to your new ipod with same progress.

- Open the HFM Client
- Click Extract Metadata
- Click on the selector button next to the Metadata Filename field
- in the 'Save AS Type' dropdown, select HFM Application Files (*.app)
- enter the file name you want in the File Name Field
- Click Save
- Click Extract
To edit, open in Excel or notepad, etc. (If using Excel, be careful on saving to make sure you save it back to the proper format)
If you want to make one from scratch, I'd extract something first to have a starting point. Once you see one, the format should be pretty straight forward.

How does one save App Store downloads to a flash drive?

I live in South Africa, where Internet access is expensive/slow compared to the rest of the world.
For this reason, I would like to backup my App Store downloads so I can do a clean install every few years.
I've downloaded GarageBand which has been saved in my applications folder.
I have not run the installer yet.
In applications, the file GarageBand.app has been created.
If I right click on the file, I can copy it, but right clicking again doesn't give me a paste option.
Any idea how to save this file to a flash drive?

There is no digital rights management scheme used in the Mac App Store aside from the fact that all apps/games are coded with the user's Apple ID and the Mac on which one wishes to use an app/game must be authorized to use that Apple ID's content.
The only difference in this case is that my thumb drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) because it is my bootable USB installer for Mavericks. But as you can see it works fine.

Are you using FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY? If yes, then pass 'X' to the parameter I_SAVE while calling the fm.
if you are using Object Oriented ALV, then call the below method before calling the method for display

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
If there's no improvement, continue as follows.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Test.
