How to save querys to a workbook

Hi Pioneers
            I  have three queries which i need to group them in a  workbook...Could u plz tell in steps how to create a workbook and include the queries in to that...

Hi,
Execute the Query and save it as Work Book.
Save (from BEx too bar)->save as new work book>Provide description and click ok.
go to Tools (Bex tool bar)-->insert Query to insert more queries in the same wok book..
Before inserting new Query,make sure that you maintained appropriate number of worksheets (with excel functionality)

    Hi,
    You need to assign a role to a user. WHen this user enters the system s/he will be able to save queries under the role (the button 'Roles' will be seen).

  • How to save automatically scheduled Discoverer workbook as a file?

    Hi,
    When I run a Discoverer report I have the option to export as a file in various formats (PDF, TXT, Excel).
    I’ve scheduled a workbook in discoverer and I want it not only to be saved in the Discoverer itself, I also want it to be saved as a file (PDF, TXT, Excel) when it finished running.
    Can someone please explain how can it be done?
    Another issue:
    Is it possible to use other kinds of triggers to run the report beside a schedule?
    Meaning – I want the report to run immediately when payroll (trigger exists in DB) finished running.

    Hi,
    I had the same requirement and i achieved it by the combination of Descoverer Scheduled report and oracle concurrent program. In a brief the process goes like this:
    1.) Create and schedule the discoverer Report on periodic basis. For example every hour starting from morning 9:00 AM.
    2.) As soon as schedule report start running at 9:00 AM, it will create a table in DB to store the output of the execution.
    3.) Create a query to fetch the last executed report output.
    4.) Get the table name created for the last executed output.
    5.) Create the oracle apps concurrent program to perform step 3 & 4 dynamically.
    6.) Also, write the code in the concurrent program to Generate Excel/Text/CSV/PDF file by selecting values from the last created table.
    7.) Schedule the concurrent program at the time which is the possible/approximate end time of discoverer report execution. For example, if your report take 15 mins to complete, then schedule your program at 9:20 (giving some buffer time just in case).
    Now, your discoverer report is scheduled every hour and take 15 mins to complete. And your concurrent program is also schduled to fetch last executed data and create file (and possible Email/FTP them) form the output.
    Hope this helps. Do feel free to revert in case you require queries that i have used to perform above mentioned steps.

    Hi Harry,
        After creating a query you can execute the query. Once the result is displayed you have the option of saving it as a workbook. using that you can save it as workbook. Once it is saved as workbook you can run it and the result is displayed in one sheet. Go to another sheet and use the option insert query in the workbook to insert new query. So you will have a workbook with 2 queries now. Futher if youwant to interpret the data of the 2 queries ina fresh sheet in the same workbook you can use cell references and hide the other 2 sheets.

    If you have just copy pasted this reult in sheet2 then it will be static.
    If you want to refresh data in all the sheets then you have to create diff. queries as said by Venkat and insert this query in sheet2.
    When you want to refresh data for any particular query then put cursor on any cell of the Query result an refresh it.
    If you want to refresh data for all the queries in the workbook then select cell(put cursor) on any empty cell and refresh the workbook.

    I have seen this happen a lot when users save versions of the workbook as favorites, but do not change the name. In this case, you can use the Admin Workbench (RSA1) --> Metadata Repository --> Workbook to see details about each of the workbooks in question, including date & time of latest change, ID of user who did the change, the role where the workbook resides (if any), etc. In our case, the role is usually the one I look for to tell if it is the "original" or a copy.

    After making changes to an existing excel workbook I try to use the workbook invoke close and I receive error "Error 1004 occurred at Exception occured in Microsoft Excel, Close method of Workbook class failed". How can I save the changes to workbook without receiving this error.

    Be sure you close all references before closing the workbook, except workbook and application, and check where the error is born wiring the error cluster. Sometimes errors are carried from a earlier step, avoiding correct execution.

    I have created own styles in my workbook which I want to use as global standard template for the whole company reporting. How can I save these styles in the theme? Even if I name my style SAPBEX* it is not shown in the list ob avalaible styles which can be used to update the theme in the workbook settings.
    How can I update already created workbooks with new style created in the global standard template? Do I have to create the new style manually again in these workbooks?

    Are you talking about Photoshop CS3 Extended? Or are you talking about InDesign, Dreamweaver - or another application?

    Thanks Bernd:  I am using Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro.  I did get a response from Dave Marchant which directed me how to find the layers icon and I found the options icon as suggested in Adobe Help.  However, the options do not allow me to choose an option of either merging layers or flattening layers.  I am a novice at this and am trying to get this 1-page pdf graphic to convert to a Word document.  Is it possible that I already have a single layer pdf and that Word is doing something weird during the conversion?  I tried to convert the document yesterday and I ended up with two pages in Word.  One page had the text boxes and one had the river channels on which the text boxes had been inserted.  This is not a document I created.  We have been struggling for 5 years at various times to get this one page document into Word so that it can be used in multiple reports.  Even the graphics departments at a couple of companies have not been able to get this document resized from the original 11 x 17 format into 8.5 x 11.  I managed to get that done yesterday.  But now can't get a useable version into Word.  Suggestions?

    This will come after the data was EDITTED and when SAVE was clicked by user in output scren.
    Here now in the final internal table(ITAB) you can find the data changed in EDIT mode.

    Usually it goes to the last folder used or the folder the current PDF was opened from (I am getting the latter in my current Acrobat). If you want a different folder, you will have to go through the tree to your desired folder process.

    I have been looking at the event libraries and everywhere to figure out how to save my files onto an external hardrive. I currently use FCPX to edit Call of Duty Montages for people as my job so I need this to work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I really need storage.

    In the Copy Files Into: field there is a pop up that allows you select where your media is copied to.
    Looking at the above screen shot if I want files to be copied to my External LaCie drive I just tick that one.
    Firstly you will have to create at least one Library on the External to send it there.
    There is the CHOOSE option that allows you to navigate anywhere on the the system to manually select a destination.
