How to search my own posts/threads in "SAP Community Network Forums"?

Dear Friends,
How to search my own posts/threads in "SAP Community Network Forums"?

Dear  Pierre DOMINIQUE,
Thanks for your information, but I know It very well. Lets say I have around 200 posts in the forum, some are unsolved and rest are solved. Now I want to find a old solved/answered post/thread by a key-word, how to do it? ... Actually I asked for this.
Thanks in advance for your right answers.

This post of mine might be too complex for the Java -> Java Essentials -> New to Java forum:
    packages and JAR files
Perhaps it would be better placed in the Java -> Development Tools -> General Questions forum (?):
    General Java Development Tools Questions
Is there a better forum?I have not knowledge on this area, I cannot say. It's up to you to decide and I can move it, or wait for an other moderator who know better this domain.

  • How To Find Your Own Posts Easily

It’s not very convenient to search for your posts, every time you log into the Forum. So here is how you can effortlessly find your own posts.
    1. Click on your screen name on the right hand side, below My Community.
    2. This will open your profile page. At the left side, just below your name, the Recent Posts by… list will show latest posts you have created.
    3. If you don’t see the post you are looking for, click on the View All link just below the list.
This will list all the posts you have done in the Forum, till date. If there are more than 20 posts, they will be listed on different pages.
Now that you have found your post, you can show your appreciation to people who helped you, by giving Kudos. To learn how to give Kudos - check this link:

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • How do I find my own posts

Can someone please tell me on this ridiculous new forum layout how I find my own posts ? And yes, I have tried searching my name but it doesn't bring up the post I am looking for from a few days ago.

What I have done is add a Watch A User widget - watching me - to my personalized home page here.  (See screenshot below.)  That lists all topics that I have ever replied to in date order, and of course only lists a certain number.  I've found that 30 is more than enough for me to keep up with...  I haven't ever had more than 30 different topics updated with new messages between visits, but I do check in fairly often.
BTW, for the future, questions about these forums are better asked in the Using Apple Support Communities forum.  That's what it's there for.

How to attach files to the thread we post in this forum?
I’m wondering why there is no feature that allows attaching files from our hard drives! It is not practical to upload our file first in a certain web to provide it as a link in the post.
Is there a way to attach our files directly from our hard drive to the post?
Please, have a look on the screenshot below that shows a forum which includes all the very basic features!
    Thank you for the help

    Pierre,
Just a guess on my part, but I would suspect non-image files in this case.
As Ted points out, that WAS possible early on, and then the capbility to attach non-image files, was actually retained by a certain few forums, though not for long. This change was coincidental with a major spam attack, and at least one disgruntled user attempting to attach some rather nasty "stuff." I do ot know if those events prompted the change, as I was not part of the decision making group, that initiated the change.
Though 95% of the files that I wish to attach, ARE image files, there are times, where a TXT file would be ideal, say for a crash log, or similar. Now, I can convert that TXT to a PNG, but then one has to work with pixel x pixel dimensions, and some files, like those crash logs, can be rather long.
Personally, I find the loss of the Attach File (was via a button at the bottom-left of the editing screen) to be a sad comment on the actions of some, on these forums, but then that just reflects life outside of the forums.

PS - I am glad that you found that little article useful Especially in the PS, PrPro, PrE and Encore forums, screen-caps can tell so very much about what is going on with a person's program, system or their Projects/Images.

  • How to search for a message or thread with a known message ID in forum?

How to search (or "swich") to a thread with a known ID ? The "Search
Message" yields no results when searching for a message ID. Is there a
other proper way for referencing a thread or message?

If you want to keep the threads for yourself, you can use your favorites menu or the site's bookmarks option.
If you have to transfer the number to some one else, the URL format looks fairly simple -
    http://  forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=board number\name&message.id=your number.
if you enter the same board, you will have the board number. This doesn't look like a particularly convenient way, but I don't have a problem with copying and pasting URLs.
The other option would be to do a search, but that is not guranteed to give you an exact answer.

  • How to search my posting created 2 years back

    Hi,
I tried searching my posting that i have created Aug 2007 but from the dropdown i can see the limit i can search only until 1/1/2008. Is there a way i can search for the past 2-3 years.
Please help, As i need to get some good tips i have received.
    Regards,
    Babu

would like to know if there is a advanced search option were i can search posting that was created from 15-Aug-2007 to 25-Aug-2007No. Doing a search using All for the Date Range and ordering the results by Date would be the way to go. If the post is not visible, there are a couple of possible reasons: the entire thread was removed in the forum "upgrade" that occurred in August 2008 for "performance reasons" due to the thread being "too long" (many useful threads suffered this fate); the entire thread or the post was removed at some point due to some breach of forum policy (spam, abuse etc).

  • Q: How to Search / Post Enhancement / feature requests?

I read Sue Harper's note, went to site, could not figure out how to search to see if what I wanted was already there or not ... did not want to wade thru lots of stuff (all good, I'm sure).
    Here's what I'd like ...
When I click "Dependencies" on a table, I'd like to see where it is ref'd as a Foreign Key.
When I look at constraints and Foreign Keys, and right click a table there, I'd like a "Go To [table]" as per other spots where the Go To functionality is offered.
Packages have Dependencies and References ... but I guess I'm not clear what is different.
Called by? Called From? Uses? Is Used By?
Or ... could tables and views have References also (meaning, who has called / used me?)
Finally, with regard to references, it would ALSO be useful to simply know where an object's name was mentioned ... in case it is embedded (however rightly or wrongly, Tom Kyte!) ... in dynamic SQL somewheres ... e.g., these two queries are REALLY handy ...
    select NAME, TYPE, line, text
    FROM user_source
    where UPPER(text) like upper('%YourSearchBitHere%')
    order by NAME, line;
    select distinct NAME, TYPE
    FROM user_source
    where UPPER(text) like upper('%YourSearchBitHere%')
    order by NAME;
(where '%YourSearchBitHere%' is judiciously composed with percents and underscores to find the right mix of whatever is being sought)
... so, for all objects, 3 categories: "I Use" / "I am Used By" / "I am ALSO mentioned in"
    Thanks.
    (this is not in v3.1.07.42)
    Kind regards,
    SM

  • How to search for runts, orphans, widows using GREP

    Hello,
I've been trying to bust my brains on how to do a search by locating single words at the end of a paragraph and on a single line by themselves. Yes, you guessed it! I'm trying to hunt down those orphans, widows that are sometimes called runts. I just don't want to do it manually and you always seem to miss one or two of them. I'm already using the techniques detailed and discussed in length on how to deal with orphans and widows but we have to hunt them down first...
Here's the closest GREP search I can get:
    (\w+)(.)\r^
but this searches for all words at the end of a paragraph regardless of whether or not they are sitting on their own on a single line. I need to pin point on single words on a single line.
Unless of course there's a much easier way than GREP, then by all means do tell..
    Using cs4.
Any input would be much appreciated.

    Hi Peter
I posted the following in the IndesignSecrets forum and Jongware kindly pointed me at this thread
I'm laying up a 600-odd page book for a client who went to design school some years ago where it was drilled into her that "Thou shalt never ever have an orphan" (she means runt). She is insisting that every last runt in the book be exterminated irrespective of word or line length, rivers created or insane ragging. The book contains a lot of text-wrapped anchored boxes, diagrams, etc so of course, every time there's a copy change these move creating new runts. Instead of proofing for important things like correlation of diagrams with text, etc she is fixated on these runts.
To prevent what little brain I have left from exploding I'd like to write the following Find/Change but have not been able to get the language correct:
Find: Any word preceded by a space and followed by a paragraph mark
Change: the space to a nonbreaking space
Blatner Tools lets me find the runts but they still need changing manually so I've tried your below Find/Change Grep:
    Peter Spier wrote:
I don't think it's possible to find only last words alone on the line (except maybe with Blatner Tools, which I've never used). My point was that if you don't want to have a single last word you could do something like find ( )(\w+[[:punct:]])$ (there's a space between the first set of parentheses) and replace with ~S$2 and that will replace the last space in EVERY paragraph with a non-breaking space ...
Unfortunately,I can't quite get the GREP to run properly. It works for plain ordinary paragraphs but for some reason it only works randomly in bullet/numbered lists of which I unfortunately have quite a few. Also, if the last sentence of a paragraph contains a footnote marker (again many of these),  it changes the last word of the actual footnote but not the paragraph which contains the footnote marker.
Are you able to help with a tweak please.
    Thanks n cheers, Gobit

  • HOW TO: Your very own Adobe Update Server (Windows)

Well, I thought I'd contribute something after wasting time sifting through info on how to get this done. It's not a hard process at all, once the steps get organized correctly.
If you are reading this post, you most likely have already seen:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager/update-server-setup-tool.html
Maybe you’ve seen the dry (read: hard to stay awake and boring) video Adobe has posted as well and yet here we are… I found the materials Adobe provided informative yet riddled with inconsistencies and scatter brained writing. This guide will get you to a working install with minimal pain and effort. I’m sure plenty of you have Mac’s that you’d like to get running as an update server. Good luck, we’re a pc shop and that’s what this guide is going to be on. You can still update Mac’s with a windows based server. Mac users that want to setup an update server on a Mac will have to try and endure that video.
I like complaining about things, so if you want the relevant info, I bolded it. If you need to change the command to fit your system, I highlighted the relevant section in red. You’re welcome.
    Requirements:
Windows Operating System 64-bit (just so the file structure makes sense, if you are running 32-bit, that’s fine, but you’ll need to make the necessary changes to my write-up.)
The requirements for CPU, Memory, and hard-drive free space are minimal (My freshly sync’d update directory is only 30.2GB). I’m going to lean on the safe side and say leave a few hundred gigs free on the hard-drive. All you are doing is making a file store that can be accessed via http from your clients. Any modern day computer can be your host. Have hundreds of client computer that will be downloading from your update server? That’s up to you on how you will want to handle it. Do DNS load balancing across multiple update servers, deploy different override files to different groups of clients that point those groups of clients to different servers, or use sas drives and team multiple gigabit Ethernet ports. I’m sure you’ll figure something out to handle your particular situation. I am just going to focus on a simple step-by-step to get you on your way.
Step 1: Install Creative Cloud Packager
This was the first thing that wasn’t clear to me. I’m new to Creative Cloud for Teams. I have 20 computers and knew that updating would be an issue with our internet connection. I intuitively searched for a way to set up an update server and came across the article linked earlier. “Note: AUSST is available in the utilities folder of Adobe® Creative Cloud™ Packager installation.“ Oh, that’s nice. No link. No help on where to get it…
You can grab the download from your “Manage Your Team” control panel. It’s on the right side under “IT Deployment”. Download it, install it. This how-to isn’t about packages and how awesome they are for deployment or how to use them. So close the packager when you are done installing and move on to step 2.
Step 2: Create a root directory to store all of your updates.
I think it’s safe to assume that the root directory will only grow in size over time, so put it somewhere with a few hundred gigs of free space. The cloud is still young but I expect that amount to last you a while. To keep this easy, I created my directory as such:  G:/CreativeCloudUpdate
Step 3: Run the AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool for the initial sync
Open up command prompt as an administrator and type the following:
    cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities\AUSST"
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate" --fresh
When it is done updating, leave the command prompt up, you’ll need it again.
Step 4: Create the client config file
For whatever reason, the AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool can’t create a config folder. So you’ll have to make it yourself if you want this to work.
Go to G:/CreativeCloudUpdate and create a folder called   config
Head back over to the command prompt and type the following:
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --genclientconf="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate/config/AdobeUpdaterClient" --root="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate/" --url=http://192.168.1.4/
If this worked, you should get something like the following:
    “Generate Client Configuration XML chosen.
    Files generated at specified path.”
Double check to make sure the files are generated inside the G:/CreativeCloudUpdate/config directory.
Step 5: Setup the Web Server
We’ll use Apache 2.2 for this setup. Yes, I am aware 2.4 is out, and 64-bit is available and that there are different web servers and and and. If you want to set something else up, go for it, be my guest, but you won’t find compile or update directions here. Also, if you want to use IIS, again, go for it. I didn’t find anything wrong with the directions in the very first link in this post. Remember, this guide is simplicity focused. I expect you to know how to keep your own network up to date.
ALLOW PORT 80 THROUGH WINDOWS FIREWALL OR ANY OTHER FIREWALL SOFTWARE YOU ARE RUNNING ON THE SERVER!
    Download and install the following:
    http://mirror.metrocast.net/apache//httpd/binaries/win32/httpd-2.2.25-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi
You can keep all of the defaults during install.
Once installed, you’ll have a little feather and play button in your system tray. Double click on that to bring up the server monitor. STOP the process.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf
Open up httpd in a text editor like notepad, you’ve got a little editing to do. Do a search and replace. You’ll want to find EVERY OCCURANCE of the following sentence:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs
And replace it with the following sentence:
    G:/CreativeCloudUpdate
Save the file. Go back to the Apache server monitor and start the process.
    Step 6: Setup the Clients
The file is located here: G:\CreativeCloudUpdate\config\AdobeUpdaterClient\win
    And here: http://192.168.1.4/config/AdobeUpdaterClient/win
    It is called: AdobeUpdater.OVERRIDES
And it needs to end up here on the client computers:
    In Windows XP:
    \Documents and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdater.Overrides
    In Windows 7/Vista:
    \ProgramData\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\AdobeUpdater.Overrides
    In Mac OS X:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/AdobeUpdater.Overrides
It is your choice concerning how to get the overrides file onto the client computer. THE BEST WAY is to include it in the package you deploy from the Creative Cloud Packager(not covered in this guide). If you already have Creative Cloud installed and want to start updating via the server you just setup: You could use group policy to deploy the file. If you only have a handful of computers, you could put it on by hand. You could script it. You could email it to all your users and tell them to place the file. Pick whatever you feel will work best for you in your environment.
IF you are just deploying the Creative Cloud in your environment and were smart enough to think ahead and setup the update server FIRST. Look up (If you have to, it’s really intuitive) how to use the package manager and make sure to change the package configuration to use this overrides file.
Step 7: Check for and download updated files to your update server
To manually do this, open up command prompt as an administrator and type the following:
    cd "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities\AUSST"
    AdobeUpdateServerSetupTool --root="G:/CreativeCloudUpdate" --incremental
To do this automatically you need to make a scheduled task to run the command above. The only issue I have run into is the task does not seem to run unless you are logged into the server. If no-one is logged in, the task triggers, but an update never happens.
All in all, I am happy that there was a way to do this. I AM NOT HAPPY that Adobe made it an after thought. A system service would have been a very elegant solution or you know, a simple custom server app that does everything in this guide for you AND makes it easy to run the incremental updater on a schedule. But noooooo, they couldn’t be bothered to do that, I mean really, who wants their own update server anyways…

    Hi,
in relation to on to the above could you please share some thoughts on using AUSST in an enterprise environment spread over 50 countries i relation how to setup the AUSST, taking WAN Lines into considerations. We are using SCCM for application deployment and patching. Is there a comparising model for AUSST vs. SCCM?
i Get the picture using AUSST in a company with one huge Building using the LAN capacity, but what technologies are used to replicate over WAN etc?

  • How can I edit a post I've already posted?

I saw a button that said "Edit this post." I clicked it and got a notice that I must log in before editing my post. I was already logged in. Completed the longin info again, but still kept getting the message that I had to log in first. Closed Safari, reopened, re-logged in, went to the post, and then the button for editing the post was gone.
I see some discussion in this forum, but have not found a post telling exactly how to make the edit function work. Nor do I get results searching on "edit" or "edit post" or "edit forum post."
Nor do I find any mention of this in the Help section.
I did see one place where a person was asking a host to edit one of his posts. This could imply we can't edit our own posts; but then what is the edit button on a posted post for? In any case, it seems there should be some info about this somewhere, and perhaps the dialog box could be more explanitory (as in saying we must log in, when we already are).
    Thank you.
I WAS able to edit THIS message. This time the Edit button worked. Maybe the other time was a fluke, or maybe there is a time limit on hitting the Edit button. But again, why was that guy asking a host to do his editing. Any clarification would be helpful. Alas, I now see only two choices: a button to Discard and Cancel, and a button to Edit Message. I'll go with the latter and see if it means "Post."

    Hi ChicagoLarry!
If the 15 minute, Edit time span has elapsed, but you still have the post that you want to edit, open in a browser window, the  Edit icon, will still be evident.
But as you have discovered, if you click on it, you will be asked to login, which doesn't really make any sense.
Ideally, the message would be more like "You're allotted time to edit this post has expired."
I've made a suggestion to the Hosts.
Also, each time you edit an entry, the edit time is extended.
For example, if you edit a post 10 minutes after the initial time of posting, you will then have another 15 minutes, in which to edit again.
Each subsequent edit, adds another 15 minutes.
The discretionary editing of posts, by the Hosts, is usually done only for violations of the TOU, posted personal info, serial numbers, Email addresses, posting of commercial Websites, etc., not for misspellings, punctuation, or other minor posting errors.
