How to see actual file sizes
I have several Keynote presentations, where I have recorded the presentation. One of them shows up as 370MB (from a previous recording), and the other one as .5MB (slideshow without recording). I get these same results if I re-open Finder, or view them in inspector. In terminal, the sizes show up as 272 bytes (I'm assuming because they are packages and not actual files). If I copy the files to another drive, they are about 14MB each, which reflects the actual size. How do I make Finder to show the actual sizes of the files (packages)?
Hi
You can use report painter .T-Code :KKO0.

Web Inspector how to see total file size transferred to browser
Hi
After seeing several tutorials with Safari 4/5 I have bin looking for the total file size that is transferred to the browser when loading a website.
These statistics where easy to find on the old Web Inspector. Does anyone know where I can find this now?
It would be a very big help! Thank you for your time!Does ScriptingListener.plugin record AM code for this specific step?
No. When you specify the desired file size, PS immediately computes the required compression/quality value necessary to achieve that desired size. The AM code has only that computed Quality value and not the desired file size.
In other words, you still can't programmatically specify the desired file size.
As far as slices, I don't have a clue. I've never had the need to use them. -
How to read music file size?
I have the third generation iPad. I've sync'd (via iTunes of course) a CD album in Apple Lossless and another CD album in AIFF. Most other audio that have already been sync'd is in MP3 format.
So how can I see the file size of each song in the iPad?Well that's how to see the file size in iTunes. But I'm concerned (suspicious actually) that there's some background modification or something after getting sync'd with the iPad.
So I'm curious about how to see the file size of each song IN THE iPAD directly.
Or not possible? -
How do I see a file size of a photo on my iPad?
how do I find a photo file and then see its file size on my iPad?
Safari and the Mail app support PDFs - tap on them and they should open. If you want to store them on the iPad then there are a number of apps that support them and which you can sync them to or use 'open in' on Safari or Mail to copy them to e.g. free apps such as Apple's iBooks and Adobe Reader

How to change archivelog file size in oracle 11g
Hello,
In my oracle 11g database inside flash recovery area how to increase each files size , now it 41 Mb per file iits name is o1_mf_1_161_8mfpwtbj_.arc how to change it to
the understandable name.
Thanks and regardsHi,
As you know archived log is create when online log is switch. Archived log size might be maximum equal to online redo log size.
Because archived log size is copied from online redo log file, if you want change archived redo log size, then you must change online redo log size.
But you must think, what is advantages and disadvantages of change of online redo log size, it depends direct task LGWR process.
You can change archived redo log name with change LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT parameter.
See : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/initparams103.htm

ORA-01200 : actual file size
Hi,
on 8i on Win2003 server
when startup database I have this error:
ORA-01200 : actual file size of 45200 is smaller than correct size of 49400 block
Do have any solution please ?
Many thanks.Ok, thank you, I saw that :
decided to "manually extend it". So, I created a file of 640 blocks-length (the difference reported by Oracle between correct size and actual size) and appended it to the datafile with the "cat" command from Unix.
but how to resize under Windows (cat does not existe on windows) ?
thank you. -

How to get the file size (in bytes) for all files in a directory?
The following code does not work. isFile() does NOT recognize files as files but only as directories. Why?
Furthermore the size is not retrieved correctly.
How do I have to code it otherwise? Is there a way of not converting f-to-string-to-File again but iterate over all file objects instead?
Thank you

How to see hidden files in folder, how to see hidden files in folder
how to see hidden files in folders
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can't see by default hidden files through Finder. However, you can do it with a command that you can copy in Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities). Open this application and type:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE && killall Finder
After doing it, you will be able to see hidden files through Finder in all the volumes connected to the MacBook Pro -
How to reduce jpg file size, not pixel dimensions?
I am preparing images for the web and I really have 2 questions: one about gifs, and one about jpgs.
My standard procedure is to reduce the image to the desired pixel dimensions at 600 dpi
That gives me a crisp small image. then I either use it as is if the file size is low enough (I try for under 600 kb) or convert it to a gif with the save for web and devices tool.
So here are my 2 questions (I will count this solved with either answer)
1) When I convert to a gif I have the 4 boxes: one with original size, the other 3 with options but often the options are too low res for me How do I change my 3 options to start at a higher gif res?
2) If I try to reduce the file size of the jpg in the image size box I set the resolution lower ( 400, 300), which lowers the pixel dimensions and the filesize, but I don't want to cahnge the pixel dimensions. And If I reset the pixel dimensions back to the size I want them, even though it is a lower resolution the file size doesn't change. How to reduce jpg file size using only the resolution, not pixel dimensions? PS I have tried messing with checking and unchecking the 3 little boxes( scale styles, constrain proportions, and resample) but nothing has worked.Gif is not a great filetype, especially if you want a crisp image. What are your pixel dimensions?
For web, it makes no difference what the dpi is, only the final pixel dimensions so once you have that as you want, use 'Save for Web and Devices' and you can lower the quality - 100% being max and 0% being lowest. I wouldn't save anything below 55%. For a 600kb image, your dimensions must be rather big. -
What is the actual file size for the iphone 4s update - 55.5 mb's or 832 mb's
Can someone tell me the actual file size of the new update for the iphone 4s On my iphone it is telling me it is 55.5 mbs but when I try to download the file thru i tunes it twlls me it is 830 odd mb's.
Thanks, michael.I suspect if you update wirelessly you are just downloading a "delta" updater whereas downloading through iTunes you are downloading the entire replacement firmware. Wirelessly updating does not take nearly as long for the download nor does it require completely erasing then restoring the device.

Preview: how to find export file size?
Odd that I didn't find a thread on "save-as". Are they squashed?
I lament the loss of "Save as…", but I would be willing to accept the use of "Export…" wholeheartedly if I could predict the file size.
One of the main ways I use Preview is to normalize images without a lot of heady image editing; colour tweaking, size, ratio, resolution, then save JPEG's for use in iTunes cover art. The end of this task was normalizing an image file size as a JPEG. Now, all I see is a slider that gives me a relative file size and no indication of the absolute range I'm working within. The only way I view my desired file size is to export, then use Finder "get info" to see the file size as disk usage.
Is there a way to do this inside the Preview application, as a parameter of exporting, like I did before Lion?Thought I'd complete this thread that I found unresolved.
In subsequent versions, the absolute value is at the bottom of the export dialogue box. If it was there or toggled at the time I asked then I couldn't find it, but it is now so problem solved. Currently running v8. -
Causes of ORA-01200: actual file size of x is smaller than correct size n ?
Hello everyone
We are running Oracle 11.2.0.3 64-bit E/E on Oracle Linux 6.2 with UEK R2 on X64.
Using Grid and ASM 11.2.0.3 and OMF names.
The database files are alll on SAN, the SAN vendor name not disclosed here to protect the innocent/guilty 8^)
I have a Test database MYDB (in NOARCHIVELOG mode) and after a normal server reboot, not a crash, the following error occured on Oracle database startup.
srvctl start database -d MYDB
PRCR-1079 : Failed to start resource ora.mydb.db
CRS-5017: The resource action "ora.mydb.db start" encountered the following error:
ORA-01122: database file 1 failed verification check
ORA-01110: data file 1: '+ASMDATA/mydb/datafile/system.256.787848913' <<<<<<<<<<---------------------------------------------------- Corrupt file on ASM disk, system tablespace this time
ORA-01200: actual file size of 94720 is smaller than correct size of 98560 blocks <<<<<<<<<<---------------------------------------------------- ERROR message
The ASM disks are all up and disk groups are mounted OK. The ASM protection level is EXTERNAL.
My understanding that the only proper recovery from the above error is to use RMAN Restore Database/File/Tablespace.etc (and then RMAN Recover, when in ArchiveLog mode).
I do have RMAN disk backups, so I don't need to "patch" the database to recover.
This is not my question at this point in time.
My Question is this : what are the most likely causes of such error?
Oracle Database bug? OS bug? Disk driver error? Server hardware failure (bus, memory, etc)? Or a SAN bug?
I expect that Oracle 11g R2 will always come up with the database "clean" if the server reboots or if server crashes (i.e. due to complete power failure) provided the actual storage is not physically damaged.
Our SAN vendor (no names!) says they are of the opinion that it's most likely Oracle database or Oracle Linux 6.x/UEK software bug, or probably Oracle ASM 11.2 bug.
We have opened a support call with Oracle.....
My personal experience dealing with similar database errors on more recent releases of Oracle (9i R2, 10g R2, 11g R2) and also MS-SQL 2005 and 2008 R2 suggests this kind of a problem is most likely related to errors/bugs in storage/drivers/firmware/BIOS and SAN and not likely to be a 'database' or O/S bug.
Perhaps you, good people on this forum, can share their experiences, as unbiased as you can?
Many thanksIve seen Ora-1200 twice I think over the years, both times there was disk problems which led to write issues which caused file problems, youve reported no such issues on your side though so if thats actually true, Im thinking bug.

ORA-01200: actual file size of 437759 is smaller than correct size of 43776
Hi,
I am getting the following unexpected errors while going to create CONTROL files after successful completion of offline/online oracle backup RESTORE (of PRD system) on Quality system. We are following Database specific system copy method to do the same.
All the required pre & post restore activities for the same were carried out. Even the same RESTORE activities are performed with different different online/offline backups of PRD system to do such system copy. But, the thing is stuck at control file creation step with the following same error which is seen again & again after every DB restore operation.....

The above mentioned error is coming for all 294 data files. The reported file size difference is only of 1 Block in all data files. The DB block size is 8192 bytes.
Environment: (for SAP QUALITY & PRD systems)
OS: HP_UX ia64 B.11.23

Your help for this reported issue will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Bhavik G. ShroffHi,
Thanks for your response.
We already have tried the same whatever you have mentioned as suggestions in ur last post .
We already tried to extend all 294 data-files as mentioned in that oracle forum link.
Its not the recommended way to play with data-files in such a way as it can lead to other unnecessary errors.
We have seen the following errors after successful creation of control file by manually extending all those 294 files (it was around 10hrs job).
Specify log: {<RET>=suggested | filename | AUTO | CANCEL}

ORA-00334: archived log: '/oracle/AEQ/oraarch/AEQarch1_268984_629943661.dbf'
have you tried also restoring init<SID>.ora file from PRD to new system.
I think its not having relationship with control file generation. Both systems are having same init files with respective SIDs.
Did you find any other points in your further investigation ?
I am thinking to perform Fresh SAP System Installation with same SID (AEQ) and then will try to do Database Restore again with last offline backup of AEQ system.

How to update "Estimated File Size"
As I fiddle around with my Export Settings (CS4), I don't see any update in the "Estimated File Size" info at the bottom left of the screen.
It seems to me that as I move the Target Bitrate and Maximum bitrate (as well as the other options), I would see the Estimated File size increase or decrease so I can have real time feedback on my settings.
Is there a setting I need to change or a command I need to make in order to see an updated "Estimated File Size"?
Thanks
...RowbyNevermind. I see that the sliders do indeed give me a reak time updated file size. Don't know how I missed it.

How to reduce EAR file size of ADF 11 g app.
Hi
I developed the ADF 11 g Aplication using jdeveloper tool.i deployed it on WLS10.3 successfully and able to run it also.
Through wizards in jdeveloper i created the EAR file.while packing the EAR file ,if i included the required libraries in WAR my EAR size is 27
MB.this size all becoz of libraries.Along with these libraries my application is using the shared libraries on my WLS.
In WLS while creating domain i installed ADF runtime .so i have oracle.adf.domain ,jsf, jstl as shared libraries which are required to run my
application.
My Problem is EAR file size i.e 27 MB.this size i am taking for single oracle form.like these forms i have to deploy 100 forms. so i am facing
problem with size.
Can you suggest me any other ways are there to reduce my EAR size?
To solve this problem, while crearting EAR file for every form the libraries included in WAR are common,so i extracted those libraries and added
to the WLS classpath.(so no need to pack those libraries every time when i am creting EAR.)here i am getting eror.the error is classnot found exception "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.faces.context.FacesContextFactory".But this class is alredy persent in jsf-api.jar which exist in jsf deployed as shared library.why WLS is not taking the class present in shared library in this case?
if EARs,shared libraries, classes in classpath will be there, how WLS will load classes?what hierarchy it will follow.
Detailed error i am putting here.

We do have quite a bit of video but also a lot of large stills and these are the ones that I am concerned about if rendering as PDF since there are no controls for altering the image quality within PDF folios. I am wondering what setting actually is actually used?
