Last time I checked, SMS was a service between carriers and doing SMS yourself was really tricky. Some services existed to let you do it but as I recall they wanted non-trivial money.
However, most phone carriers provide an email-to-SMS bridge of some kind.
So the easiest thing is just to send an email.
That's sending from a non-phone to a phone. There's a J2ME library to send/receive SMS from/to a phone.
However, this is from memory, and a little out of date, so I could be entirely wrong. Hope it helps anyway.

How to process attachments using an XI-Adapter

Hi together,
I have seen that there are a lot of problems processing attachments of XML messages in SAP XI 7.0. Unfortunately I have the same problem by using an XI sender adapter.
My scenario is as follows:
I will get an PurchaseOrderRequest_Out out of SAP SRM directly transferred to SAP XI. Within the XI only the attachments should be send via mail to the receiver system, the main document is only necessary for generating the text of the mail.
I have seen that a solution should be to write an custom adapter module which converts the attachments into base64 encoding and put them into a tag of the main document. This should give the possibility to have access to the content in e.g. java mapping.
Sadly I'm not that much experienced in the development of custom adapter modules. Maybe someone of you guys has done it and could be so kind and provide me some code snippets how this could be done.

In soa suite 11.1.1.4, I was able to test a sample program using http binding adapter in calling a restful web serivce that has complex types as input and output.
The oracle document says it does not support complex types (reference. Oracle note/document ID 1328955.1 ). What exactly does that document mean ?

I was trying out the same thing using HTTP adapter in 11.1.15, but i am getting error when i used the complex types with GET method.
Are you able to use XML complex types with GET method. I tried both the ways to create the complex type and also tried with multiple parts in the WSDL created by HTTP binding. But in all cases i am getting REPLACE_WITH_ACTUAL_URL error. Same thing is working with the POST method.

I am trying to put dynamic properties in HTTP Binding adapter at run time. I am able to Set endpointURI, UserName and Password dynamically using below code.

Hi Bastain,
Assuming your using the Batch Process Model, you can programatically insert a new SN into the correct parameter in the postUUT callback sequence.
This sequence has access to the UUT.SerialNumber parameter so you can use a File Global to pass the SN from the main sequence to the postUUT callback.
Here is an example of what I mean.

RESTful service response using HTTP binding

Hi all,
I use a restful service and consume it using a HTTP binding adapter in my BPEL process. While sending response, the reponse is sent in xml format. But i want it just to be string. For example, i dont want the reponse to be like this "<Test>Firstname Lastname</Test>". I want it like "Firstname Lastname".
In oracle docs its given, for HTTP binding reponse, its always XML. Has anyone achieved sending response without xml tags and their namespaces?

I am able to contact the same endpoint from SoapUI and also the browser. As far as I know there is no proxy that is required but I will still go ahead and ask the provider.
And do you have any clue why I am getting the error in Jdev when I compile the project?
And another thing that I would like to mention is that the WSDL that the HTTP Binding adapter created is incomplete as in it does not have the <wsdl:service> tag, is that something that I should be looking out for?

If I try and send file as attachments from the tmp directory, then everything works ok, but if I try to send the same file from any other directory, then it doesn't work. Can anyone help? Is there something wrong with the code, I'm not aware of anything that would make it directory specfic. Permissions are the same on /tmp as the new directory /NRS/Data/SystemX which I'm trying to send the file from now.

if u see the end of ur mail it shows the attachment dir there in which u have specified the address..why don't u do a change there or better have some in parameteres in the procedure for it..that would help in choosing the attachment directory on users wish?

Can't Send Attachments Using Exchange Account

For some reason I can't send attachments using my Exchange account on my iPhone. Pictures, Word docs, Excel Docs, doesn't matter. They just get stuck in my out box and I get the following message, "Cannot Send Mail - An error occurred while delivering this message." I can receive attachments just fine, but cannot send or forward them. If I use any of the other email accounts on my phone, it works fine. The Exchange account is the only issue. Is this some limitation with Exchange on an iPhone or something? Anyone ever have the same problem as was able to fix it? Thanks!

I've got 38 iPhones deployed running the 3.1.2 OS against an Exchange 2007 server. Several of my users complain about the same issue, and I've seen it myself. I have found a workaround of sorts - I've found that if I've sent a message with an attachment and I get a failure to send, if I manually browse down to the Sent Items folder, that forces a replication of the Sent Items. The next time I do a manual sync, the e-mail with the attachment will go.
I presume this has something to do with Exchange trying to put a copy of the e-mail in to your Sent Items at the same time the iPhone is trying to send the message.
Potentially, this might be solved by turning off the option to always store your sent e-mails in the Sent Items. I have not yet tested that as a workaround as from a corporate standpoint and an ease-of-use standpoint, we want that e-mail in the Sent Items for reference.
If anyone has any success with this fix, please let me know.

3) Select 'Text' radio button
4) Write following code : uuencode <Name of the file along with the path> <Name of the attachment in the mail>|mailx -c &cc_mail_id,&to_mail_id -s "<Subject of the Mailer>" &to_mail_id.
5) You can use mail or sendmail command also instead of mailx command.
6) Save Alert details
