How to send file as attachment and call RFC to trigger event in ECC?

Hello,
A file is retrieved from FTP into PI (w/ NO MAPPING required - just pass through) and placed on the ECC appl. Server. Then, a RFC is made to trigger an event to process the file in ECC. However, a RFC cannot be called in the graphical mapping if there is no mapping required.
I have seen this Blog, u201CFile to R/3 via ABAP Proxyu201D, http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1847. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] But we are told not to touch the file as it will be converted in ECC by a program.
Also, I read that using ABAP proxy-PI-FTP, I can do a pseudo mapping, simple one node, (just so a RFC can be triggered) and also pass the file as an attachment. Letu2019s say this works:
Question 1: What configuration steps in the FTP adapter that will allow me to u201Calsou201D send the file as an attachment?
Question 2: (Continue with ABAP proxy option) How do I control where will it be deposited so that the program can access it?
Question 3: If this is not the best approach, how many steps would I need to do it in BPM (i.e. pick up the file from FTP, place it on appl server, and trigger a RFC to call an event to process file)?

This is the current outcome. I totally understand that SAP PI communicates via XML. So when PI picks up a file that contains XML tags, the Inbound proxy is triggered. I can see its processing in SM50. However, when I give the Sender FTP adapter a non-XML file to pick up, the Inbound Proxy does not trigger. The file itself should be read into memory so that I can save it to the application server via ABAP code (with no mapping). That is why there is no operation mapping
The reason I am using using FTP to ABAP proxy is because I need to call a subsequent RFC step to process the file. Else, I will just use FTP to File Adapter scenario.
Question 1: I am thinking that that file is the attachment. Is that where I am incorrect and I still need to send in an XML file with the attachment as an addition?
Question 2: Is this the best approach or should I use BPM? If BPM, what steps do I need?

From what I remember, there isn't an "out of the box" solution since InternetFunctions only provides some basic email functions (try decompiling the class to see what's available).
Here's the link for the original Stellent 10gR3 sample components: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/content-management/index-092832.html. Take a look at the AcmeMail component within the HowTo Components sample. It shows how to create a custom idcservice that sends basic emails. You can use that as a baseline for creating your own email service and then use something like JavaMail to implement attachments. That's what I did.

Hi Olian,
you can use below mentioned parameters in your Sender CC under Content Conversion.
Recordset Structure Recordset,*
Recordset.endSeparator 'nl'
Recordset.fieldNames Comp,DocType,RefDocNo etc.
Recordset.fieldFixedLengths 2,2,8 (give the length of fields values)
Now in your message mapping your source message type should have one field as per your requirement, now as other mentioned use concat function to concat all source fields. The delimiter of cocat function will be as empty, so that after concatination there will be no spaces in your target file as per your requirement.

Hi,
I recently switch from a complete Windows envrionment to a Mac one. I use a MacBook air with Mac OS X Lion.
I recently installed Office for Mac 2011 to use Outlook 2011 with my Exchange. I changed the setting in the Mail app and Outlook to use my Outlook as default mail client.
There's still something I need to correct. When I "right-click" a file and select send file as attachment, it opens the Mail App to send it. I don't know how to completely switch to Outlook. I don't care about not using mail app at all.
I've tried a couple of things, like deleting com.apple.LaunchServices.plist but I still have the same issue.
Any suggestions ?

That service is hard-coded to Mail and can't be changed through any user setting. Try this workaround:

If Library in Automator does not list Microsoft Outlook, the "Create New Outlook Mail Message" action should be listed in the second pane (along with all the other Microsoft application actions).

Please help me solve this issue, if u change the spool request no., client & put ur mail id and execute it u will find that apart from the pdf we get an un wanted attachment also..

As part of our POC we created a File adapter using the option Read file as attachment and File streaming we observed below things
1.When we are taking “Attachment” option in file adapter, Its able to archive, but not supporting to write data to different location(using fileadapter’s write operation.)
2.when WE are taking “ file streaming “ option in the adapter , Its not able to achive, but it writes data to different location(using fileadapter’s write operation.)
Can anyone know is this is a correct behaviour . If yes what is the reason .

Unable to send or receive texts and calls

For nearly two weeks I've been unable to send or receive texts and calls I have tried resetting my phone deleting existing call / text convos and taking the sim out of my phone 4g internet still works but nothing else I'm using an iPhone 6. Why can't I send or receive anything?

Have you tried the SIM in a different phone?
Also have you tried a network reset?
Note: Resetting the network settings will clear all WiFi passwords and refresh device network connections.
From the home screen, tap Settings.
Scroll down to, then tap General.
Scroll down to, then tap Reset.
Tap Reset Network Settings.
Tap Reset Network Settings to confirm.
Note: If a security code is enabled, this will need to be entered between steps 4 and 5.

Depending on your carrier, you may be able to see recent calls by logging into your account on the carrier's web site, if they offer such a feature, though incoming calls being shown is not usual. There will, as diesel said, be no way to see messages already received, either SMS/MMS or iMessages, without having the phone.

Consider using UTL_MAIL package:

The webdynpro/ABAP (WDA) has problem calling RFC enabled FM of other ECC systems.
WDA expects all the ABAPs, RFC FMs of remote system(DEV, QA..) to reside inside its own instance.
It is hard to transport and maintain these ABAPs FMs into a portal ABAP WDA instance.
Proxy generation at WDA client:

1. If we can make an XI enable an ABAP or RFC enabled FM of the remote ECC,
I think the XI proxy classes can be generated at the client WDA system.

How do I do it? Can you give some tips.

I am stuck with the above as the webservice option is not available at our ECC server. It does not have a java engine installed for webservice to be available.

This is solution I have used
1) First of all I have made ABAP connection in SM59 .
Go to SM59 .In ABAP Connection creat ABAP connection with system with which u want communicate .
Eg I am connection with Systems PB1.
So i developed Connection call PB1CLNT800.
2) In my requirement I have taken data in my context from another r/3,
I have give called RFC in my supply function of node.
Call to RFC is as usual.
In my case,

DESTINATION 'PB1CLNT800'

Onwards I have read my itab IT_MATNR and populated data to context.
