How to set the server root directory in 10.1.3 ?

Hi all,
I've recently migrated from 1012 to 1013. Unfortunately, i'm having problems compiling the .jsp portion of my project. Every .jsp comes up with the error:
"Error: JSP Files must reside in the server root directory or a subdirectory beneath it"
Can anyone enlighten me as to where i can change this setting?
Thankyou for your time.

That link is to an older version of Jdev. There is no 'Common' section in project properties and no html input path either. There is a 'Project Content' section and within that section there is a 'Web Application' option. However i get "ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException" whenever i click on the 'Web Application' option. I suspect this is the area where i can configure the .jsp portion of my project. I can't get to it though due to the exception.

  • How to set the Server CLASSPATH?

    Hi all Oracle Java experts,
I know this is a rather stupid questions:
Where can I set the CLASSPATH of the Servlet Engine in Oracle 8.1.7.?
I spent hours now searching the documentation and found loads of hints what to add to the CLASSPATH in which circumstances, but not how to... Of course I know how to use the CLASSPATH in a normal Java environment, but not in the OSE.
In the "Oracle8i Application Developer's Guide - XML" it says in the "Using XSQL Servlet" Chapter:
"How you set the CLASSPATH of the web server's Servlet environment and how you associate a Servlet with a file extension are done differently for each web server. The XSQL Servlet's Release Notes contain detailed setup information for specific web servers you might want to use with XSQL Pages."
Unfortunately, the Release Notes contain this information for Tomcat, Apache JServ etc., but not for Oracle's own Servlet Engine... Maybe you should include that information.
    Thanks for any help;-)
    Cheers

Not sure if I understatnd the context in which you want to set your classpath.
IDE, java or system but ...
look at the profile file /etc/profile
    CLASSPATH= "/usr/local/jdk1.4......"
    export CLASSPATH
    or
    javac -classpath .;/usr/local/jkd1.4.... test.java
    or
    whatever your ide provides.

    Hi Eric and Jennifer
A couple of answers to your questions:
    1. LC Forms is just an API - you have to build your own web application (or some other type of application) if you want your users to be able to interact with PDF forms.
    2. You can use Eclipse to build web applications. It's just one of many tools for doing so, but it's a fantastic development environment, and it's free.
    3. Lomboz no longer exists. It has been integrated directly into Eclipse as one of the sub-projects, "WebTools". The easiest way to install web tools is via the Callisto "packaging". This makes sure that you get all the right versions of everything you need. See:
    http://www.eclipse.org/callisto/
    4. The tutorial mentioned still provides some useful information, although names have been changed.
    5. There are lots of books about developing Web Apps in Java, using servlets or JSP.
    6. FormsIVS is just a small sample application that allows you to test rendering or prepopulating a form. It's not intended as an end-user product.
    7. If you're interesting in some assistance, we do provide training, mentoring, and turnky application development. Send an email to info "at" avoka.com if you want more info.
    Good luck...

  • How to set the servlet context path manually in Tomcat web server.

I tested some servlets by putting them in the folder , which the tomcats examples application uses (ie Tomcat 4.1\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes\) and it appeared to be working fine.
I was calling the servlet like this : http://localhost:2006/examples/servlet/TestServlet
But when I installed my own WAR file in the server , the servlet is not working now. now the new location of my servlets is : Tomcat 4.1\webapps\MyApp\WEB-INF\classes\
and I'm trying to call the servlet like this : http://localhost:2006/MyApp/servlet/TestServlet
The error , what i'm getting is :
description :The requested resource (/MyApp/servlet/TestServlet) is not available.
Some body please tell where I'm making the mistake ? I believe this may have something to do with the servlet context path setting. If anybody has any idea , how to set the path..will be much appreciated.

Thanx for your reply , at first I was not using any web.xml(since not mandatory) but even after using the web.xml file the error is coming . Please have a look into the contents of the web.xml file and let me know if you find any problem...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"

    <servlet-name>TestServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>TestServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    </web-app>
one more thing I would like to tell you here. I was just looking into the configuration of Iplanet web server..I found that , there are options to set the servlet container path (like : - Prefix: /servlet
    Servlet Directory: /ecomm/iplanet/nes60/product/docs/container )
so from here I came to know that "container " is the folder where we should put our servlets and it has URI as "servlet" but yet I'm not able to find any option in the Tomcat Web server to set the servlet container to any different directory.
If you have any idea please let me know.

  • How to set the CLASSPATH in Unix Server

    Hi, everyone~
Do anyone noe how to set the CLASSPATH in the hp-ux server? I tried the setenv CLASSPATH, but not working.. I think should use export. But my jsp pages still cannot working, dunnoe y?
I wonder is the hp-ux support jsp and servlet or not?
In order to let the jsp and servlet to run properly in the unix server, what kinds of steps should taken ?
Hope somemore who experience with this situation b4 can give me some guidance.. Thanks~~

Tomcat ignores any and all CLASSPATH environment variables. Even if you could figure out how to set it, Tomcat wouldn't use it.

  • Setting up the class root directory and choosing class files.

I made a simple test application as it is proposed at the J2EE 1.4 Tutorial and all worked.
(Chapter 24 Getting started with Enterprise Beans)
Than I deleted the ear file to try out the deploy mechanism again.
And after generating the new application with File-> New application which worked well I also
tried to use the EJB Wizard feature of the J2EE deployment tool. After I had selected the appropriate EJB classes to add to my jar, I clicked NEXT and I got the following message:
The class (converter.Converter) could not be loaded:
Please consult online help for assistance in setting up the class root directory and choosing class files.
The online helps isnt very usefull for this type of problem.
Do you have a hint what to do ?

    Hi san-deepu,
I couldn't reproduce the error you are having when I followed Ch. 24 tutorial in packaging the ear. Is there anymore information in deploytool's logfile? This is in <user_home>/.deploytool/logfile, or you can run in verbose mode: <as_install>/bin/deploytool -v
When you say you deleted the ear file, did you also close the ear file in deploytool first? You may also want to exit deploytool () , and try deleting the temporary files. Deploytool usually cleans up the temp files automatically upon exit - maybe there are some left behind that it couldn't delete. On windows the temporary files are located by default in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\sun-dt-Administrator. In deploytool go to Edit --> Preferences --> General to find what the temporary directory is set to.
Which version of the appserver are you using? jdk version? operating system?

  • How to set the parameter of xi header in server proxy

    Hi,
Does anyone have idea, how to set ref_to_message_id of a client proxy in the server proxy? My problem is, I send a message to a server proxy. The server proxy receives the message, retrieves the message id and tries to set the ref_to_message_id of the message, which will be sent to a client proxy, with its message id. I only find some useful functions to get these information of client proxy and server proxy like message_id etc. in runtime. But I did not find the "set" function to set these parameters. Maybe someone can tell me at first, if it is possible to set such parameters in runtime in server proxy.
    Can anyone help?
    regard
    hu

    Hi Chilla,
what I want is to monitor the related message bundle easily. In my server proxy, many different client proxies are called and messages are transfered. So under the SXMB_MONI I will find many message exchanges for one server proxy call. Because the server proxy is called so often, I cannot distinguish under the SXMB_MONI, which message exchanges are caused by which server proxy call.
So I have an idea. If I can set the ref_to_message_id of the messages for the client proxy calls with the message id of the server proxy call, then I can at first select the message of the server proxy call and find the messages for the related client proxy calls easily using the button "referencing message". The message id of the server proxy call can be retrieved. So my problem is now, how to set the ref_to_message_id of the messages for the client proxy calls with this messag id in the server proxy.
Of cource, if anyone has better idea, how to resolve the situation in another way without setting the ref_to_message_id, pleases inform me.
    regards

  • How to setting the root user profile?

It seems that I can't fine any complet manual to introduce how to setting the root user profile file which locate at /etc/profile? Who can help me find out or figure it out

first /etc/profile is a global profile for the system
its not only specific to root
from here you can configure the system wide paths
Regardless of the shell you are using, when you first log in your system generally runs the system profile file, /etc/profile. This file is generally owned by the system administrator and is readable (but not writable) by all users.
After your system executes the system profile, it runs the user profile. The user profile is one (or more) initialization files that define your working environment. For example, if you're in the CDE environment your system checks this file (or set of files) each time you start a new terminal or window.

    Hi,
You can use some third party tools like LicenseCrawler which pull all the software installed on windows with license key.License Crawler is a portable
app that requires no installation. Simply download and run the application; however, you will need admin rights to run LicenseCrawler . When
you run LicenseCrawler , it literally will crawl (scan) your computer’s registry for the license keys.

  • Can Dreamweaver create the remote root directory?

    Hi,
Does Dreamweaver have the capability to create the remote
root directory? As an example, if I define a remote site and I set
the host directory to public/site3 where the public directory
already exists on the server but site3 directory does not, can
Dreamweaver create the site3 folder? Other programs will notify
that the directory does not exist and ask if you'd like for it to
be created. Dreamweaver just seems to give me error messages.
I'm currently using a straight FTP program to create the
directory before I define the remote site but it seems ridiculous
    to have to do this.
    Thanks!

    Sure.
But - what do you expect this to do for you? Are you trying

  • PHP 5.0.5 CLI: Am I able to set the Oracle home directory at runtime?

I have two versions of Oracle installed on a SUN Solaris server:
    /opt/app/oracle/product/8.1.7
    /opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
Am I able to set the Oracle home directory at runtime using PHP CLI?
    Thanks,

The real answer is it depends how PHP loads Oracle. If the loading
occurs when PHP starts and before your script executes then you will
start to see problems. This could be as minor as missing error
message text or it could be more subtle. In general set the Oracle
    environment before starting PHP.
What about creating your scripts like:
    #!/bin/sh
    export ORACLE_HOME=/opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
    php ...-- cj
