How to set windows at a certain size in Lion ?
Hi Guys
this is something i have been having an uphill struggle trying to get right - to say the least !!..
in Snow Leopard one could only ''resize'' a window by pulling on it's corners ( NOT a limitation in my book.. ) but when you closed the window & later opened it again, it remained the size it was when you last closed it
now with Lion one can ''resize'' the windows by pulling anywhere ( just like Windows - HURRAY !?.. ) BUT when you close it & open it again later, Lion resizes it forcing me to - AGAIN.. - size it back to my preferences/needs and to me THAT my friends IS a SERIOUS limitation to my efficiency
on my 27'' iMac i like my windows to be roughly 8'' tall X 10'' wide, that combined with my file & folder's size gives me a nice working space, showing most of that window's content WITHOUT scrolling, etc.... MOST IS clearly displayed to see, what could be easier than that ?
the PROBLEM is that this happens 10, 15 or even 20 times a day, WASTING my time & effort in the process - for NOTHING !!
& that's what drives me nuts : constantly resizing windows ? in my neck of the woods there ARE better things to do.....you know what i mean ? this IS MOST frustrating given the pointlessness of the effort wasted
what can i say ? i'm a lazy bugger who doesn't enjoy repeating the same task OVER & OVER again - anyone has a suggestion on how to avoid this ?

You will find a solution for your problem in sample report <b>BCALV_EDIT_03</b>. If you do the error handling in the event handler method for DATA_CHANGED then the cursor will point to the field containing the faulty value.
Here is part of the report's header documentation:

* SEATSOCC (occupied seats) and/or PLANETYPE. The report checks
* the input value(s) semantically and provides protocol
* messages in case of error.
* To check program behavior

* Change values of the column "occupied seats" or "Planetype" or
* both (in the same line). Try to provocate errors.
* Click on the check symbol or press return to initiate checking.
* (ALV also checks input before any functions like sorting,
* filtering or doubleclick are processed. These functions are
* only active if the input does not contain any errors).
* The ALV Grid Control first checks if the input is correct
* according to DDIC-Information (Type, lenght). Then semantic
* checks are made by the application using event handler method
* HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED.

But, when returning to this window from another window with the second window's back button, or selecting the first window from the second window's back list, window.status gets set to browser-oriented information, usually the string "Done". GMYLE (TM) Micro Mini USB Wireless B/N/G 802.11n RTL8192CU WiFi LAN Adapter
for my 2006 Mac Pro which I recently got for free ()
And I was wondering how I set it up.
First of all, I'm not quite sure which Configure IPv4 setting I should use, and I also am wondering what to put in for the IP adress considering I don't have on for this Mac yet.
Thanks a bunch!I seem to have the same problem on my iMac in 10.7 Lion. I used Migration Assistant, but actually I only wanted to move the files from my old macbook, not create a new user. And now I can't delete the user that was created.
I've tried what Michael is suggesting, but in any of the two users, in Users & Grous, the option of deleting a User by pressing the ' - ' is not possible even after unlocking.
Can you help wit this? -

I get tired of having to click on the upper right box every time I need the smaller window, which is VERY frequently. I teach college online and need to see only a portion of the large screen as the rest may distract me while grading. This COULD prove unfair to my students.

How do I crop to a certain size 6.0x4.5 in Lightroom version 3.6?
I'm using Lightroom version 3.6 and would like to crop my image for export to a particular size 6.0 x 4.5. I have marked this specification in the export dialog field, but that doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions? I'm using a Macbook Pro version 10.6.8.

ElizabethThank you so much for your help with this. I used the crop tool and set a custom crop size to my specifications. How would I know before actual submission that those specs had been met? Is there a way to see the image size after the crop? I'm not sure it was executed since I never had the option to select done after my crop edits. I was able to do the before and after comparison to see that the crop had been done, but that's all. Did I do something wrong in that case?
You also mentioned making a virtual copy for the crop, it looked to me like LR did that automatically? Is there a command to actually make virtual copies?

How to set local file copy buffer size?
Is there any sysctl parameter or any other mechanism to set or change file copy buffer sizes? I'm backing up a huge number of files to a local hard drive connected by firewire, and I'd like to play with file copy buffer sizes for the best performance. The machine used is a new macbook pro running OS-X 10.6.7. Any ideas?
Here is a bash script that uses the dd command to copy a file. Use the -b option to set the file size.

Is there any way I can set all the regions on a page to the same size to prevent a staggering effect?
e.g

I would like all titles to be the same length when looking down a page
e.g

What I have done in the interim is to create blank cells in each region, between the actual fields and then use nbsp; to pad them out and try and get the region headers to align that way. I am assuming there must be an easier way.
eg.

Where can I post a screen shot of my form layout?
In the meantime, let me explain again. What I was trying to say is, depending on how many fields that exist within a region, a region will size to the largest fields it contains, depending on how the fields are layed out within the region.
Since I have 5 regions on my page going from top to bottom, what I am finding is that the regions are of different sizes, and I would like to make them all the same size, irrelevant of the largest field size it contains.
The overall effect will be that the region titles will all line up on both the left and right handsides as a user scrolls down the page.
If there is a way of acheiving this could you please let me know.
