How to split email routing at multi domain infrastructure.

We have two domains
1. Root Domain: Test.com
2. Child Domain: child.test.com
I have one exchange server on each domain where I configured all three roles, HUB,CAS and Mailbox on each exchange server.
I also have a EDGE server that has placed out of domain network. I have subscribed the edge server to child.test.com domain's hub server.
Whenever any user of child.domain.com send an external email, the email travels to test.com hub server before reaching to edge server. Is there any way I can modify the path so that emails sent from child domain user's will directly go to the edge
server.
Also if any user send from test.com it should reach to child hub server and than edge server.
Please suggest the configurations, how can I achieve this goal.

You need to make the changes on Send Connector in Child Domain.
What is the smart host you have in Send Connector? Make sure it's pointing to EDGE Server.
If User Sends email from Test.com to child.test.com. It will Hit to Local HT and then Edge Server and Then Hub Transport of child.test.com
What is happening right now? How Many Edge Server do you have?

* Beside the requirements i mentioned earlier, the mail antivirus server also serve mail flow to/from other sister company.
* The mail flow for sister company is: user --- exchange ---- mail anti virus server --- sister company. and also vice versa.
* Email from sistem company can only received from Mail Anti virus server, (IronPort after migration).
* Some servers inside relay email using Mail Antivirus server, and then will use Iron Port after migration.
Is there any additional change in the configof IronPort? Please advise.

Create CName records in your subdomains DNS servers.

How do you host a domain and several email addresses from that domain with OS X Server?

Right now I have a domain name through GoDaddy.com and one email address to that domain...we will have about 5-8 in total...How do I setup OS X Server to host our own domain (without using GoDaddy) and setup our own mail server?

There are several steps that you would need to do.
Set up OS X Server with mail services and users. Also, you may have to have your OS X mail server relay messages through your ISP so you can email people at other domains.
Set up firewall/router to forward IMAP/POP and SMTP ports from your external IP address to your server (which is either in the DMZ of the firewall or on LAN).
Set up DNS records so your domain name points to your server (and if you do not have a static IP address, you will need to set up dynamic DNS). At a minimum you will need 2 DNS records: an A (or AAAA for IPv6) record for the server (I think it can be the root of the zone) and a MX (mail exchange) record.
If everything is set up correctly, you should have a mail server hosting on your domain with your server.
Those would be the major steps you would need to complete. Details on the exact procedure for each of these steps can be found reading the OS X Server documentation, documentation for your router/firewall for port forwarding/NAT, and your specific DNS service.

Using Adobe Hosting :
- You would need to upgrade site plan to web basic+ which includes email service.
- After adding domain , you can create email records which would be on default domain added to site.
Using external hosting :
- If your hosting provides email service then you can create email records on your domain
- Or use third party email service.
Email account creation is done on hosting platform wherever you are hosting your site.

make seperate appleID's if you wish to be frinds or if you wish to facetime video chat and if you wish to not recieve the samme imessage msg's unless you turn it off
you can still set both your iphones to use an email address even if both have different appleId's
the appleID is a handle not a link to an email address

Not sure where you find, "LOG_MESSSAGE_ADD". I don't actually find this option in the documentation.
The domains that mails are coming from and being sent to are certainly logged in the normal mail.log, so why mess with additional logging options? If you're talking about "LOG_CONNECTION", I actually see no additional data that is useful to you.
If you decide to change the option.dat, you do indeed need to
imsimta cnbuild (note, it's not cnrebuild)
imsimta restart
If I were facing the same issue, I'd be looking at the log parsing perl script, and simply modifying it to do what I wanted.

If you have huge volumes of data, logical partitioning (splitting into multiple data targets based on a time characteristic) is always recommendable. You can choose to so only for the cube (split into 3 cubes) and have the suitable code when loading from the ODS's.
Else you can split the ODS's as well and have the code in the update rules from source system to the ODS's. Either ways, once you choose to split...you have no choice but to use a multi provider to report on these splits.
During the execution, query is automatically multiple sub queries and these sub queries read the partitioned cubes in parallel. This would increase the performance of reports. Hope this helps!

How to provide access to multiple users connected to a Dumb switch? (multi-auth/multi-domain)

Good morning everybody,
I am writing on behalf of not being able to implement a desired outcome in our company network. In fact the situation is as follows:
What I want to do is to be able to authenticate users (802.1x authentication) in our company radius server and authorize them access by having a dynamic VLAN assignment in a multi-user environment on one and the same port of a Cisco 2960 switch. So far, the authentication and authorization has been working completely smoothly (there are no problems with itself). The concept involves the configuration of both DATA and VOICE VLANs as I there is also phone authentication implemented. In order to simulate this environment I introduce a Dumb switch connected to my Cisco 2960 Catalyst.
What I have successfully managed to get to work so far is this:
1) On one switch port I have tried the “authentication host-mode multi-domain” and it worked perfectly for a PC behind a telephone, or with one PC connected to a the dumb switch + the telephone connected to another port of the dumb switch. Logically it is the same situation as there is a separation in two domains – DATA and VOICE. Bellow is an output from show authentication sessions for this scenario.

2) On the other hand, when I try the same scenario with the “authentication host-mode multi-auth”, the switch still separates the traffic in two domains and is able to authenticate all users, AS LONG AS they are in the same VLAN.

I want the switch to authenticate the users anytime they connect to itself and for them to have an instant access to the network. (I tell this because I tried scenario 1) with multi-domain mode and authentication violation replace, and it worked but, two users never had access to the “Internet” simultaneously!!!
The configuration of the interface connected to the Dumb switch is as follows.

The way I see it is explained in the following steps:
- PC1 connects to the Dumb switch. This causes the Cisco switch to authenticate user1. This creates an auth. session with its MAC address linked to a domain DATA.
- When PC2 connects to the Dumb switch, this causes the violation replace which replaces the recent authenticated MAC address with the MAC of PC2. I would like it once authenticated to appear in the authentication sessions with a link to a new DATA domain linked to the VLAN assigned from the RADIUS server.
Is this possible? I think (in theory) this is the only way to provide authenticated access to multiple users connecting through Dumb switch to the network.
Has anybody ever succeeded in such a configuration example and if yes, I would be love to get some help in doing so?

Hi Stoimen,
I have done a setup similar to yours with the only exception being VLAN assignment. When I used dACLs only, it makes things somewhat easier as the VLAN no longer matters. Remember that the switchport is in access mode and will only allow a single VLAN across it (with the exception of the voice VLAN). I think that is the real cause of your problem.
From what I can see, you have 2 options available to you:
1) Use dACLs instead of VLAN assignment. This means that an access list will be downloaded from the radius server straight to the authenticated user's session. I have tested this and it works perfectly. Just Google Cisco IBNS quick reference guide and look for the section that deals with Low Impact mode.
2) Get rid of the dumb switches and use managed switches throughout your network. Dumb switches will always be a point of weakness in your network because they have no intelligence to do advanced security features like port security, 802.1x, DHCP snooping, etc.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with another option.

There has been many post regarding domain.sites splitting and how to handle multi-domain.
First you need to split your domain.sites package, with courtesy of Mark:

What about handling multi-domain?
Make a master folder, and make sub-folders within this master folder to keep (split) domain.sites, then place the master folder in your Dock, ie:

You can access your domain.sites at any time from the Dock.
What about making new domain.sites?
You can force iweb to create new domain.sites with shell script (Unix) or AppleScript - notice second item in domains.jpg.
_New Domain script forces iweb to create new domain.sites package - in your specify folder, as in this dialog box:

There is no need for third-party application. Everything you see/need is free and is bundled in every mac.

How Receiving Incoming Email works?

Hi I would like to know how receiving incoming email works? SharePoint supports incoming emails for library/calendar
list/discussion
board/announcements
list I did whole setup to receive incoming emails but what i am not still clear is , do I need to request separate email ID in AD for each type of list/library/discussion board?? I learnt we need to specify drop folder name while SMTP
configuration from there all .EML msgs will be routed to respective library/list, but my question is how that get routed. I know there is "SP incoming receiving emil" timer job which runs every minute or so and picksup .eml msg but how does
it route to respective library/list. Will it be possible to have single incoming receiving emaild ID for all resources OR do I need to have one-one mapping of email ID for each library/list. Please let me know if you aware or any article or guide.
In summary , For example if i have 10 lists to enable to receive incoming emails then do i need to have 10 email IDs created in AD&Exchange or can it be done using single emailID in AD but manipulate it either domain level or exchange level.
Perhaps I could think some segratation based on some metadata but user may not fallow the same while they send email. ( user could send mails with subject , w/o subject...otherwise i was thinking some email template as alternative but the solution i am more
interested in , will it be possible to segrate emails based exchange settings or AD settings while having single email ID for all .

You don't need to create emails for each lists . You have required only one email id and by using that you can configure Incoming email setting in Sharepoint.
For the same you can follow below steps .
1) Open Sharepoint Central Administration.
2) Navigate to to System Sttings ->Configure incoming e-mail settings.
and do the below settings
Enable sites on this server to receive e-mail? -> Yes
Settings mode: -> Automatic
Use the SharePoint Directory Management Service to create distribution groups and contacts? -> No
E-mail server display address: -> youremailserver.domain.com, this is the default
Safe E-Mail Servers -> Accept mail from all e-mail servers

Zimbra Multi Domain SMTP auth/relay problem

I have a query in setting up a multi-domain Zimbra 8.6 OSE on Ubuntu 14.04.I have successfully setup Domain1 with Zimbra and added virtual host Domain2. Mails to each of them are routing to each other and sending from the server to outside is also working. However, I need to both domains to send emails using their respective ISP so domain1 would use ISP1 and domain2 ISP2. In my previous implementation, I have used successfully "zimbraMtaRelayHost" for single domain. Searching more, I have tried the "Relay per Domain" using "sender_dependent_relayhost_maps."I am, however, still unable to send mail using Zimbra. I have, upon instinct, put in the port after the IP address of the ISPs in /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/bysender so it looks like the one below (based on thewiki):@domain1.com [10.10.10.1]:587
@domain2.com [20.20.20.1]:587Zimbra now...

Send email for a given domain over VPN

Hi all,
I have an IPSec site-to-site VPN working between 2 end-points.
Is it possible to send emails destined to the domain @mycompany.com over the VPN?
Normally, the mail server will try to resolve the domain name and end up with a public IP for the destination SMTP server.
Any idea how this can be implemented on the server and on the router?

Let's say the local mail server finds that the remote mail server addresses for domain @mycompany.com are mail1.mycompany.com and mail2.mycompany.com.
Should I modify the hosts file on the local mail server so that mail1.mycompany.com points to, for e.g., 192.168.200.1 and mail2.mycompany.com points to 192.168.200.2?
Interesting traffic is "permit ip 10.0.0.0 0.0.255.255 192.168.200.0 0.0.0.255". The private ip of the local mail server is 10.0.0.13/16.

[SOLVED]How to send email to a local user?

I have installed Mutt, msmtp, procmail and I can send and receive emails to/from remote hosts and I'd like to send email locally also (to the recipients on the same machine as the sender).
When I try to send email to a local user from the root account -
echo "Test message" | mail -s "Test subject" localuser
then I get an error that connection to the port 25 is refused. Because the /etc/msmtprc file contains the 'localhost' as the default account's host, and on the local host I don't have a mail server listening on 25 port running.
When I try to send email from a non-root account which has in /$HOME/.msmtprc file a real email account on a remote server, then of course there is an error that the domain for the email address 'localuser' is not recognized.
How can sending email to local users be enabled?

If I understand correctly, postfix it's a constantly running daemon. Seems to be an overhead for delivering only from time to time sent messages.
