How to supress a message in background

Hi,
I have one workflow in whcih one task is there which is getting executed in Background.
There is one BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE. During debugging I found that this BAPI is throwing one information message and because of this message the TASK is not completed.
Could you please do let me know that how I can suppress this message in Back ground.
Regards,
Sandeep

Hello,
Try adding the exception ERROR_MESSAGE when calling the function module.
Add it after the normal exceptions and before OTHERS.
You only need to add  this while calling the FM, and not in the FM itself
Details are given here

  • Supress warning message in Session background process

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem while executing a session in background process. The OK_CODE will disappear while the warning message appears in the status bar and the session will error out.
Pl. help me in suppressing the warning message and continue the next screens to post the document succsessfully. The TCode I am working is 'C201'.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi prakash,
    1. While we run the session in foreground,
WARNING message will come on screen,
and then we have to press ENTER,
       to proceed further.
    2. But when this same session, run in background,
       it does not get PAUSED,
       bcos of WARNING message.
(it gets paused only due to ERROR Message, and not for Warning/Info message)
    3. So not to worry about the warning messages, in background.

  • How to change the message value in COGI entry

    Hi All,
I have two COGI records on a material for a plant and while creating those entries those were locked by another user.  So it is getting message number as 897 and so it is not displaying in the report COGI.
Could anybody tell me, how to remove that message.
    Thanks,
    sreenivas.

    Sreenivas,
You need to Implement the corrections mentioned in SAP Notes #325105.
    Solution as given in note
Both incorrect goods movements and future change records for background processing of goods movements are stored in table AFFW. Error records differ from future change records by the fact that fields AFFW-MSGID and AFFW-MSGNO are filled (error ID and error number). Process requests can only be updated via reports CORUAFW0, CORUAFWP, CORUPROC or Transaction CO1P. Error records can be updated in Transaction COGI. They are also transferred to the update, provided you executed reports CORUAFWP or CORUPROC with the "Incl. incorrect goods movement" indicator set.
In table TAFWD, you can enter specific error messages which should not be treated as an error record but as process requests.Useful candidates for such error messages are, for example, locking errors such as M3897:"The plant data of the material <XXX> is locked by the user <YYY>." You can maintain TAFWD entries by using Transaction SM31.
AFFW records with errors which are entered in table TAFWD are no longer displayed in Transaction COGI (because they have been defined as a future change record) and can only be edited for the background processing by the programs and transactions.
You can limit the error records to specific error messages in Transaction COGI by adding certain error messages to table TAFWD.
Technically, the conversion of error records into process requests decreases the time and effort spent on lock management because only the respective process (background updating of goods issues and/or goods receipts) is locked during the update of process requests. However, error records are locked separately in order to prevent other users from affecting a record which is just being updated/processed.
The following applies to postprocessing records from the repetitive manufacturing:
As of Release 4.5B, these records can also be posted via transaction COGI (in addition to the repetitive manufacturing programs for postprocessing backlogs: Transaction MF47, report RMSERI13). However, basically they should NOT be posted using reports CORUAFWP and CORUPROC, including not with the "with incorrect goods movements" indicator set.
Therefore, the definition of phantom errors in table TAFWDfor postprocessing records from the repetitive manufacturing has no effect. These records can not be redefined for future change records and must still be able to be postprocessed explicitly via transaction COGI.

    Prasobh

  • Supress error message in reports 6i

I am brand new to reports.
I validate a date parameter in the AFTerFormParmater. If the
date is null (blanked out) I want to issue an srw error message
and reset the date on the form to a default.
I get the my srw error message but
then I also get a system error message about the "trigger failed"
how can I supress this message
in addition - how can I reset the date so it is not blank when
    the parameter form is redisplayed.
I cannot run the report from a normal form as I have not taken'
the forms class yet. Everything needs to be done from reports
    itself.

    Hi Dhananjaya,
    also check this.
Messages allow you to communicate with users from your programs. They are mainly used when the user has made an invalid entry on a screen.
To send messages from a program, you must link it to a message class. Each message class has an ID, and usually contains a whole set of message. Each message has a single line of text, and may contain placeholders for variables.
All messages are stored in table T100. You create and edit them using Transaction SE91. Once you have created a message, you can use it in the MESSAGE statement in a program.
    Also,
In SE91, you can see all the error message details.
For information, if the error message shows "V10222", you have enter the first three digits in "Message Class" and last three in "Number". This means, whatever the message number is, the last three digits has to be entered in "Number" and the value precedes this last three numeric value has to be entered in Message Class.
    And finally,
Let me put it this way..
Every Error Message belongs to a Message Class.
So, a particular Message Class will have a number of Messages under it.
You need to know the Message class first. For Sales we have the following message classes V1, V10, V2, V4, V5, VD, VU, VV, VX, WVA
*If you want to know all the message classes available for a transaction:-*
For knowing all the Message Classes for a particular transaction, you goto-->SE93, put the transaction code and choose display. After this, there is a button on the top (Display Object List), press that button. On the left hand side you will get the Object Name-(example: VA in case of sales). Drop down there and choose Message Classes. You will get all the message classes there.
If you know the Message Class and want to see the Messages under it:
So, goto-->SE91, put the message class and choose Display
    cheers,
    Hema.

  • Message when background Job is successful .. information

    Dear All
I just want to give an information message when background job is successful.
I am starting a job using SUBMIT <   > AND RETURN
    if sy-subrc = 0
    CALL FUNCTION  'JOB_CLOSE'
    if sy-subrc <> 0
    Do Nothing
    else
    message <>
    end if.
    end if.
Let me know if above code is correct and how to make a message information only in this.
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
I'm struggling to fully follow your requirements, but the job is not complete when you call the function 'JOB_CLOSE'.
You can check if the background job is successful using the method below...
Within a DO-ENDDO use the function module 'BDL_READ_JOB_STATUS' passing it job name and job number.
If the job status returned from 'BDL_READ_JOB_STATUS' = 'F' then the job is finished and exit the DO-ENDDO.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard.

  • How to suppress forms Message?

When I use NEW_FORM from within a form, before exiting the

    : Here's a couple of ideas,
: - Try setting system.message level to a higher number (maybe
: 20) prior to calling your new form and then set it back when
    the
: new form has been established.
: - Try using clear_form(NO_VALIDATE) just before calling your

: - Try using the on-error trigger instead of the on-message

    : Good luck.
Actually, the only way to "suppress" this message is to either
reset the :SYSTEM.FORM_STATUS or (much recommended) set the
message level to 25 and commit the form before the new_form.
After all, the reason for this message is that the user has
supposedly made changes to the data that need to be committed. If
you are getting this message w/o making changes, then you need to
check your code because something is setting a base table value.

  • Supress/Prevent messages from FM call

    Hi all,
In my program, I have a function module call,
during an error inside the FM, an Information message pops up.
I'd like to stop this from happening.
The FM is not RFC-enabled so I can't use 'IN BACKGROUND TASK'.
Also, Im not allowed to change the FM
nor am I allowed to create a copy of the FM (...then change the message).
How can I prevent messages from showing or popping up?
Can I use a variation of MESSAGES INTO or something else.
Is there a way to hardcode setting to run in background?
Or atleast any ways to suppress/prevent messages from the FM.
    Thanks all!

when calling the FM adopt your call with following exception:
    error_message = any free number, e.G. 9.
    That will have following effect:
If the error_message addition is specified after EXCEPTIONS, all MESSAGE statements that are executed during the processing of the function module and do not have the RAISING addition are affected as follows:
Messages of the type S, I, or W are not sent but are noted in the log background processing.
Messages of the type E and A trigger the exception error_message and set sy-subrc to n_error. The message class, message type, message number, and the contents of possible placeholders for the MESSAGE statement are in the fields sy-msgid, sy-msgno, sy-msgty, and sy-msgv1, ... , sy-msgv4. With messages of the type A, the ROLLBACK WORK statement is also explicitly executed.
Messages of the type X are not influenced. As always, they cause program termination with a short dump
