How to use dynamic column fields in formulas

Hi,
we changed from CR 8.5 to CR XI R2.
Many of our reports use dynamic queries with different count of columns.
These reports are designed for the maximum count of columns.
This works fine with CR 8.5 but with CR XI R2 it seems to be that if one of these columns is missing i get an error in all formulas using this missing columns.
How can i use or check this columns in formulas?
regards
Michael

Could it be because of null values?  Try File -> Report Options and then check the box next to convert null values to default values and see it that helps or you can go into the formulae and choose Default Values for Nulls.  Either of these options should plug a zero if the values happen to be nulls.

    Hi Ajitabh,
    First off, is the Dynamic Selection working? If so, try the following code.. I am assuming, you only want to look at Permanent Address.
    tables: pernr.
    infotypes: 0001,0006.
    start-of-selection.
    get pernr.

      check pnp-sw-found eq 1.
      rp-provide-from-last p0006 1 pn-begda pn-endda.

  • How to use dynamic time series in formula

    I have Time dimension with active Dynamic Time Series for Y-T-D.
    I'd like to use it in member formula - e.g. IF (@ISMBR("Y-T-D(Aug)")) - but this doesn't work as I get error message Unknown variable or member name.
    Any idea how to work with dynamic time series members in formula?
    Still using Essbase 6.5 X-(.

    As Glenn mentioned, I also don't believe you can reference a DTS member in a formula, you would have to calc the YTD. Take a look at the @PTD function to calc Period to date numbers, I believe this function was available in v6.
    Having said that, we're assuming you want to calc a ptd number, but your example was based on an IF @ISMBR(). So the question becomes what are you trying to do? Given what I assume your time dim looks like, what would be the difference between @ISMBR("Y-T-D(Aug)") and @ISMBR("Aug")

  • How to use dynamic select query which queries from 3 different table.

    Hi All,
    I am new to Toplink, i would like to use a named query to select some of the columns from 3 different tables with dynamic where clause.
    I have used the following lines. Please tell me how to get code for the dynamic where clause.
    First try :
    Vector objPersons = (Vector)session.executeQuery("findPersonByGlobalID",Person.class,vQueryArguments);
    The above method is not returning the vector or collection.
    Second Try:
    ReadAllQuery query = new ReadAllQuery(Person.class);
    query.useCollectionClass(LinkedList.class);
    LinkedList person = (LinkedList) session.executeQuery(query);
    The second try is returning the collection but, this fetches all the record from the table.
    1. How to query for range of records?
    2. How to query from multiple tables for some range. How to use dynamic range values ?

  • How to use dynamic parameter when a report is created using Stored Procedures

    Hi all,
    any one have the idea of how to use dynamic parameter in crystal report XI R2
    when report is created using Stored Procedure.
    Regards
    shashi kant chauhan

    Hi
    You can create an SQL command in Database Expert > Expand your datasource > Add command
    Then enter the SQL query that will create the list of values to supply to the user
    eg select field1,field2 from table
    Then edit the parameter of the report.  These will be the SP parameters adn can be seen in field explorer.
    Change the parameter type to Dynamic
    Under the word Value click on Click here to add item
    Scroll down to your Command and select one of the values that you want to appear in the list
    e.g field1
    Then click on the Parameters field - this is essential to create the param
    You can edit other options as required
    That should do it for you.
    I must say that i use CR 2008 connected to Oracle 10g SP, but i reckon this will work for SQL DB and CR XI as well
    Best of luck

  • How to display dynamic column added by vo.addDynamicAttribute in jspx?

    Hi,
    I met problem when programmatically add cloumn and display it on screen. Here are my steps:
    0. define a ViewObject using xml. Define a transient column Addtion2. later will add a dynamic column Addtion3, but not defined here.
    1. Implement Application Module, adding a method init() and expose it to client.
    2. In init() method, get target VO and use vo.addDynamicAttribute("Addition3"). Then iterate it use row.setAttribute("Addition3", Math.random()). Add init() to page binding and invoke it.( it's invoked )
    3. In jspx, use dynamic table. But Addition3 never shows up.
    This is my last question: Re: How to display dynamic column added by vo.addDynamicAttribute in jspx? People say I should use dynamic table.
    please have a look at my code:
    Application Module: when it runs, it will print 6 coulmns. vo.getAttributeCount() is <font color="red">6</font>.
    <pre>
    public void init() {
    ViewObject vo = this.getCountryView1();
    if (vo.getAttributeIndexOf("Addition3") == -1) {
    vo.addDynamicAttribute("Addition3");
    vo.executeQuery();
    for (AttributeDef deft : vo.getAttributeDefs()) {
    System.out.println(deft.getColumnName() + ": " + deft.getName());
    RowSetIterator it = vo.createRowSetIterator("i1");
    while (it.hasNext()) {
    Row r = it.next();
    r.setAttribute("Addition2", Math.random());
    r.setAttribute("Addition3", Math.random());
    it.closeRowSetIterator();
    for (AttributeDef deft : vo.getAttributeDefs()) {
    System.out.println(deft.getColumnName() + ": " + deft.getName());
    System.out.println(vo.getAttributeCount()); //vo.getAttributeCount() is 6
    </pre>
    jspx: when it runs, only 5 columns are shown. Column Addition2's values are set as expected. but Column Addition3 never shows up. And #{bindings.CountryView1.attributeCount} shows <font color="red">5</font>.
    <pre>
    <af:table rows="#{bindings.CountryView1.rangeSize}"
    fetchSize="#{bindings.CountryView1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.CountryView1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    var="row" rowBandingInterval="0"
    value="#{bindings.CountryView1.collectionModel}"
    selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.CountryView1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.CountryView1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1">
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.CountryView1.attributeDefs}" var="def">
    <af:column headerText="#{def.name}"
    sortable="true" sortProperty="#{def.name}" id="c1">
    <af:outputText value="#{row[def.name]}" id="ot1"/>
    </af:column>
    </af:forEach>
    </af:table>
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.CountryView1.attributeDefs}" var="def">
    <af:outputText value="#{def.name}" id="ot2"/>
    </af:forEach>
    <af:outputText value="#{bindings.CountryView1.attributeCount}" id="ot3"/>
    </pre>
    it's quite weird for me. The vo.getAttributeCount() is 6, but #{bindings.CountryView1.attributeCount} shows 5. And column Addtion3 never shows up.
    what's the matter? How can I show the dynamic added column Addtion3?

    Hi,
    Can you check the tree binding (CountryView1 - in the pagedef) and see it has the 5 attributes hardcoded in it. If yes, try removing everything and then run the page to see if it works fine.

  • How to Use Dynamic SQL

    Can anybody please send me a small program on How to Use Dynamic SQL.
    How to execute and run give details.
    Thanks
    null

    You can certainly use the INTO (and USING) clauses of EXECUTE IMMEDIATE to pass in and return data, i.e.
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sqlStmt
      USING variable1, variable2
       INTO output1, output2The more complex the statement, however, the more appropriate DBMS_SQL is. DBMS_SQL also has the potential to allow you to use bind variables rather than reparsing the statement many times.

  • How to use the Columns Hidden | space in the bottom of af:panelCollection?

    Hi,experts,
    In jdev 11.1.2.3,
    I can see a row of Columns Hidden | Columns Frozen in the bottom of component af:panelCollection - pc1 which have an af:table - t1 component inside in designer view,
    and can see there is a blank row space only with "|" inside when the page is running.
    Now I want to use this blank row space such as to display row numbers for the table, so I set the property for the panelColletion as following source code:
    ==========================
    <af:panelCollection id="pc1" inlineStyle="width:1250px; height:500px;">
    <f:facet name="menus"/>
    <f:facet name="toolbar"/>
    <f:facet name="statusbar">
    <af:group id="g4"/>
    </f:facet>
    <af:table value="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel}" var="row"
    rows="#{bindings.TView1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.TView1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    fetchSize="#{bindings.TView1.rangeSize}" rowBandingInterval="1"
    filterModel="#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.queryDescriptor}"
    queryListener="#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.processQuery}" filterVisible="false"
    varStatus="vs"
    selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1" inlineStyle="font-size:xx-large; font-weight:bolder;">
    <af:column sortProperty="#{bindings.TView1.hints.GoodsStatus3.name}" filterable="true"
    sortable="true"
    headerText="#{bindings.TView1.hints.GoodsStatus3.label}"
    id="c42">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.GoodsStatus3}" id="ot33"/>
    </af:column>
    <f:facet name="footer">
    <af:group id="g3">
    *<af:outputText value="RowsNumber:" id="ot44"/>*
    *<af:outputText value="#{bindings.TView1Iterator.estimatedRowCount}"*
    id="ot43" partialTriggers="::pc1:t1"/>
    </af:group>
    </f:facet><f:facet name="detailStamp"/>
    </af:table>
    </af:panelCollection>
    =====================
    but when run the page there is no display for the row number, instead on the bottom of the table, there is only a blank row with "|" inside.
    How to use the Columns Hidden | Columns Frozen space in the bottom of component af:panelCollection ?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Arun
    It works.
    As in my use case, can draw an af:toolbar component into statusbar of Panel Collection facets in Structure view.
    There is still a small issue:
    cannot see the Columns Hidden|Columns Frozen component in the Structure view,
    and if drop more than one af:toolbar into statusbar, the sencond one will fall/wrap into second row, even though there is enough space on the first row (to occupy a second row in statusbar will be a waste of space), and cannot see how to adjust.
    Thank you very much!

  • How to use dynamic list box in survey builder?

    Hello,
    Could someone give me a little bit of thread? How to use dynamic list box in survey builder?

    Hi Liu,
    Dynamic combo boxes::A combo box is dynamic if it references a document property for which a value set is defined in the configuration (System Administration ® System Configuration ® Content Management ® Global Services ® Property Metadata ® Properties ® Parameter Allowed Values).
    At runtime (when you open the creation form) the system reads these values from the configuration and displays them in the dropdown list.
    If you link a combo box for which list entries already exist to a document property with a value set, the system asks whether you want to delete the list entries. it is recommend that you accept this suggestion and delete the list entries from the XML Forms Builder. Otherwise inconsistencies could arise between the entries in the XML Forms Builder and the value set in the configuration. This can cause errors when saving.

  • How to use the column names generated from Dynamic SQL

  • How to make dynamic form fields update?

    This is going to be an ugly post, fair warning! :)
    I have a form that gets it's labels and text input field
    names dynamically from a database. Rather than having the form
    hardcoded, we are able to add new columns to a table and the form
    automatically adds new labels and fields via CFQUERY.
    When the form is completed and they submit (method post), the
    database is supposed to update. However, because our input field
    names are being populated via query, we can't write a static update
    query when we add new form items.
    So, I do have a solution to this (in my head), but I'm stuck
    at a bit of logic and am having trouble getting it out in code. I'm
    looking for a way to write #FORM.#fieldname## (here is where it
    gets ugly). Since the form submits by post method, I am left with a
    bunch of FORM.fieldname's on my action page (and fieldname is
    generic for what the actual variables are).
    So here's how I am updating:
    I have a table (call it table1) that contains a column of all
    the column names of my data table (table2). This table is used for
    query purposes only, no data is updated here from the form.
    I query table1 to call all the names of the columns in
    table2.
    <cquery datasource="exdb" name="exname">
    SELECT columnName
    FROM table1
    </cfquery>
    Then I write the update query which will update items as they
    are looped using CFOUTPUT:
    <CFOUTPUT QUERY="exname">
    <cfquery datasource="exdb" name="exupdate">
    UPDATE table2
    SET #columnName# = #FORM.<columnName>#
    WHERE itemID = #FORM.itemID#
    This is my dilemma. As you can see, the cfoutput is a loop..
    so let's take the first item in the loop, call it "name1". So our
    update query says SET name1 = #FORM.name1#, and this will update
    the table with whatever was submitted in name1's input field. The
    cfoutput loops again, this time it's name2. SET name2 =
    #FORM.name2#. Now the form does include a hidden input of itemID to
    specify where the table should be updating, as you can see above.
    So, now that you see how this works, my problem is getting
    #FORM.<columnName># to be FORM.name1, FORM.name2, etc.
    In Coldfusion you would write #FORM.variable# to call a FORM
    item. However, since the variable is pretty much undefined and we
    use a query to populate it, we need to do #FORM.#variable## where
    #variable# needs to be resolved before #FORM._______#
    Are you with me on this? It's very complex in explanation,
    but if you need more info, I can provide it more clearly. Let me
    know what you guys think. Really, I have the solution, but getting
    #FORM.#columnName## to resolve is another problem. I think what i
    need is to figure out the order of operation for that statement, so
    #columnName# resolves first.

    You'll want to use the scope structure notation when dealing
    with your form variables. The variable Form.SomeVar can also be
    written as Form["SomeVar"]. Using this syntax, you can do something
    like this:
    UPDATE table2
    SET #columnName# = #FORM[columnName]#
    WHERE itemID = #FORM.itemID#
    You may also want to look into the following to help optimize
    your code:
    1) check out how to use <cfqueryparam> - it might speed
    your code up a bit.
    2) depending on the DB you are using, you may be able to
    combine all of your UPDATE SQL commands inside 1 <cfquery>
    </cfquery> block. This will allow you to do all your database
    actions with 1 DB connection, instead of a bunch (works in MSSQL,
    not sure about Oracle or MySQL)
