How to use the input entered in report parameters form & use it in a field in a report parameter.

Hi, I'am creating a new report, which is a combination of 'form_letter & tabular' style.
I have also created a Report Parameter with 2 inputs, that is 'to_date' & 'from_date'.
The value that will be entered in 'to_date' & 'from_date' in the parameter_form, must get displayed in the report.
So for this, I created a field for 'to_date' & added code for it in pl/sql editor.
code is as below:
function F_TO_DATEFormatTrigger return boolean is
  f_to_date date;
begin
  f_to_date := :PF_P_TO_DATE;  // ASSIGNING VALUE TO FIELD ( f_to_date) FROM INPUT OF REPORT PARAMETER (PF_P_TO_DATE) .
  return (f_to_date);
end;
BUT I'M GETTING ERROR " REP-0730 THE FOLLOWING BIND VARIABLE IS NOT DEFINED: PF_P_TO_DATE.
I tried to decode the error, but I think the problem is different. (The above code works only if "PF_P_TO_DATE" was a part of query statement, that is one of the columns in database, but PF_P_TO_DATE is a parameter). So can anybody please help me with how can I take the value from parameter input & display it on the field of the report?
Thank You.

Hi Vijetha,
Create a formula column and return the date you need and asign the formula column to a field in paper layout.
here is the example query
function CF_to_dateFormula return Date is
begin
   return (:to_date); -------:to_date is that you get as a parameter
end;
Hope this will help

  • How to change the input language ?

    Hello,
    I am writing an Add-on that needs to change the input language when the user
    clicks on the Item Code field ("5") in the "Item Master Data" form.
    I can perform the change when I am out side of the SAP application (for example if I create a Windows Form), however I cannot control the input language of the SAP itself through code.
    I even tried using Application.Sendkeys, however I was unable to send a combination of ALT+SHIFT, or at least it did not have any affect
    Here is the code on how to change the input language on a Windows Form:
    For Each Lng As system.Windows.Forms.InputLanguage In system.Windows.Forms.InputLanguage.InstalledInputLanguages
       sValue = Lng.Culture.DisplayName.ToUpper()
       If sValue.StartsWith("ENGLISH") Then
                        system.Windows.Forms.InputLanguage.CurrentInputLanguage = Lng
                        Exit For
        End If
    Next
    Any ideas ?

    I am not sure I understand the problem. Anyway in B1 you change the language by
    changing it from the Administration module. This raises a Application event that
    is sent to all the add-ons. The event is aet_LanguageChanged and you should
    then change the language handled by your add-on when you receive it.

  • How to use the manually entered Hours/Days in the Duration field for BG_ABSENCE_DURATION

    Hi All,
    How to use the manually entered Hours/Days in the Duration field for BG_ABSENCE_DURATION fast formula?
    Requirement is to restrict employees for applying for leave more than the accrued balance. In SSHR, apply leave functionality, the employee enters the start date, end date and duration manually. The entered duration must be used in the fast formula to check against available balance.
    In the BG_ABSENCE_DURATION FF, I have a function to calculate the net accrual balance as on the calculation date.
    I want to add the logic as - If to_number(Duration) /*[manually entered value]*/ > net accrual balance then
    Duration = 'FAILED'
    invalid_msg = 'Error'
    return duration, invalid_msg
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    We have a standard functionality to override the duration calculation and you don't need to add a validation for the same. Please set the value of profile option HR: Absence Duration Auto Overwrite to Yes
    When you do this user will not have to enter the duration value manually. It will get auto calculated based on the duration calculation in BG_ABSENCE_DURATION when you click on the next button.
    For not allowing negative leaves to be applied, If you are on R12 then, this is a standard functionality and you need to set profile option HR Allow Absence Negative Balance to No
    If you are on 11i then refer Note: 268171.1: How Do You Stop Accrual Plans from Going Negative?
    Try and let me know in case you need further help.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • How to detect the key enter with a numerical control without using loop event?

    I want to accept a numerical value only when the key enter is pressed, but without using the event. How to detect the char "enter" with a numerical control?
    Thanks!

    When the user edits a numeric control with a keyboard, its property "key focus" is true. When the user hits enter, key focus becomes false. Poll the property to latch the control valuse at the true-false transition. That won't work if the user modify the control using up and down arrows.

  • How to get the user entered data?

    Hi all,
    I have created an HTMLB DynPage component.
    In That i have created my input screen with textboxes using response.write method.
    i have added one onConfirm event on which the data whould validate.
    so onConfirm method im trying to get the data with request.getParameter method which returns null...
    how to do...how to get the user entered data to do my validations...can anyone plz advice.
    Thanks,
    Viswes

    Hi
    inputfield or textbox component entered directly using response.write(...) are not htmlb , but html.
    to create portal input field (ie HTMLB), you should do something like
    this in the doProcessBeforeOutput member function
    InputField field1 = new InputField("Id1");
    field1.setSize(8); // 8 characters
    this.getForm().addComponent(field1);
    and in doProcessAfterInput member function
    InputField field1 =
    (InputField) this.getComponentByName("Id1");
    you can then manipulate the content of the field.
    Hope this help,
    Guillaume

    Plz help me i need it ver badly...
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi Chandra Shekhar,
    To read the 'Input help with fixed values' of domain , you can use the function module : HR_P_GET_FIXED_VALUE_TEXT.
    iIf you enter the domain name, you will find the fixed values entered in the domain.
    These values are stored in a table DD07L(DD zero 7 L). Here the values are stored based on domain name.
    See if it works for you.

  • HOW to Restrict the input Help for 0MATERIAL in the BPS Layout

    Hi,
    I have requirement to Restrict the input Help for 0MATERIAL  in the BPS Layout.
    For Example if the Planning Package is Restricted to SALES ORGANISATION ( 3000 )  then the system shuold  check the 0MAT_SALES  where SALES ORGANISATION IS "3000" )AND PASS THE Material Numbers to the 0material list.
    I have Copied the standard Funtcion group  "UPF_VARIABLE_USER_EXIT"  to Z fucttion and have attached to Z Variabe as User Exit .
    this Variable is  Attached to 0material in the Planning Pakage. So tha now the 0MATERIAL is restricted to the variable which is having the User Exit.
    But how to acces the Values of Planning Package for which the Layout is bein Executed from this Z User Exit ???
    I Know how to restrict the input help, but my only problem is that how to get the values of Planning package through this User Exit.
    Please suggest if it is possible.
    Regards,
    Nilesh Labde

    Hi Nilesh,
    As I understand from your question,you know how to restrict but the issue is to know the value in the package with which you need to restrict.
    There are two tables which can help you finding the value used in package for sales organisation:
    1. UPC_PACKAGE
    2. UPC_OPTIOS
    How to use ?
    From UPC Package you will get one GUID, Hit the second table UPC_OPTIOS with this GUID.
    In field "FIELDNAME" enter the name of the characteristic whose value is req (sales organisation in your case)
    Hope this helps you

    What do you mean there was "no effect?" I'm not aware of any effects.
    It looks like that Service is also in the App Store. From their screen shots, the services are prefaced with WordService:
    You can see an example in the App Store for their app: App Store
    After installing, you should now have those text services in your Services menu. You can then add shortcuts in the Keyboard System Prefs.
    Most Apple apps have a Transformations menu in the Edit menu. You can Make upper, lower, and Initial caps with those. I would stick with Word Services, but you can make Application Shortcuts for the items in the Transformations menu.
    Again, in Keyboard System Prefs, Under Applications, Click the Add button on the right side pane.
    Set it for All Applications
    Enter the menu command exactly as they appear in the Transformation menu (separate entries for each),
    Make Upper Case
    Make Lower Case
    Capitalize
    Give them a shortcut.

    - I've read a little more and come to these conclusions:
    . The instructions presume that a CD is included with the card for the purpose of installing the software. A CD/DVD reader is a requirement for this reason.
    2. The card uses Intel HD Audio. This changes enough of what I know about CL's card that I really don't know that the lack of external inputs in the playback mixer is not intentional and uni'versal. A recording application could let you listen to what is being recorded by having an option of playing back what's being recorded.
    I have enough uncertainty now that I don't think it's useful for me to continue commenting. If someone who has a? PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio that came with the software CD and hard-copy documentation wishes to share whether or not they have line-in, etc. in the playback mixer, it could be useful.
