How to delete i cloud account

two or three years ago, I set up an i pad 2 for my elderly mum.. I set up an icloud account which she has never used..Now, when she opens her i pad ( she has not used it in a long time ) that incorrect i cloud account is showing under settings: i cloud.. I do not remember anything about that account, I do not remember even the password.. But I want to delete it and.. she has a new i cloud account which is the same as her me.com (onboard computer e mail ) account.
So, if i delete the unused i cloud account, I want to replace that setting on the i pad to the new, daily used i cloud account which she uses now.( she did not like the name on the one I set up when we started the project.)
QUESTION
HOW DO I DELETE AN UNUSED I CLOUD ACCOUNT ON AN I PAD 2 ?( it is grayed out when I go there in settings.)
and make a secondary i cloud account the default i pad account.

I have not updated since I purchased and set the thing up.. It is an i pad 2..
YESTERDAY is the first time i have looked at it ( or My Mum has looked at it) In about a year. ..or more.. which is why it has remained with the unwanted i cloud account on it. for so long...the reason for this is lack of use. I am trying to encourage her to use it more. I have "add(ed) account at i cloud , putting her preferred i cloud name in, so that is done.. that is a secondary i cloud account. I just want to remove the unwanted ( default).
When I saw your screen shot which you kindly sent me,
I went to my own personal i pad 3 ( I0S 8.3) and saw all that your screen shot ( thank you ) displayed.. But it is not the same on hers.
she has a way older OS. like 6.2 or so.
she has no "share my location' or the other things shown on your screen shot.
I am afraid that i just need to muddle through..All i know is that the information was grayed out at her settings page of i cloud on i pad.
and saw no delete this account at the bottom of the page...nor sign out..
further note:
I just went to "i cloud.com" and logged into that antiquated account (from my personal computer.)
It is still an active account at i cloud.com.
I wish I could delete it from i cloud.com, but I think you said that I could not remove an i cloud account from i cloud. (That is what I understood.sorry to be so thick headed)
I just need to remove and replace it from olde i pad.. which I will continue to try to do.

I think i am temporarily in a pickle.
When i log on tomorrow, at Mum's house.. I may ( with the help of your responses) be able to clear the whole thing up.
I know I was unable to do so today...following the logic that I needed to find a 'delete this account' or "sign off" on the settings page of i cloud on i pad

If you haven't tried this already, try making your password 16 characters long or LESS, with ONLY lower case letters and/or numbers, no special characters or symbols. Hotmail accounts will only support a password that is 16 characters long, you can make your password longer but hotmail shrinks the password down after the 16th character. When you try to log in through the iPad or iPhone direct icon, the apple program will read every letter of the password and assume it is incorrect, thus not allowing you to verify the account or log in. I just changed my password through hotmail on a regular web connection and I was then able to verify and add my hotmail through the iPad direct icon. Good luck!

I am building an Account request site in SharePoint that Managers use to request access for their employees.
The list has an area to put in the employees AD login ID and click the Check Name button to verity it's correct which works fine. My problem is that some Contract employees do not get an eMail address created for them so they will not be able to get
a confirmation eMail when the access is granted to them.
I need to have some way to verify that the specified account has an AD eMail address, else prompt the manager to enter a different eMail address manually. I tried using a workflow to get the users AD email address and set it to a variable then check
if that variable is null but the workflow always errored out on that AD get command.
I'm using SharePoint 2010 Foundation.
