How to View BI Server Config parameters with Jconsole

Hi Experts
I want to examine the OBIEE 10g Server config params using the JConsole. I tried to start the Java agent by, navigating to the directory *"<oraclebi home>\systemdmanagement”*, and issuing the command *“runagent”.*
I guess I am missing some options /variables that I would need to pass when issuing *“runagent”.*
Please suggest . Thanks in advance.

one you have the data in the infosource, for performance and holding history, you shoudl move the data in a ods or a cube.
ODS for daily report, only daily data no history
CUbe for historical Reporting and daily reporting.
you wil need to create update rules. and process chain to load data in yoru data targets( ODS or CUbe). then create a query on them. play with the query how you want the data to show. try to USe 7.0 as its more flexible if not 3.5.
you can broadcast it straight to e-mails using web broadcasting. other wise create web template( as define in the steps in the previous post).
remember do everything in yoru SANDBOX system or Development system. do not under any circumstances do this in production or testing.

Of course, from your scripts you can set these parameters once you have created the managed server and getting its MBean.

We found that some customers willing to upgrade Windows Server 2008 R2 GUI to Windows Server 2012 Server Core recently. This article provides detailed steps to perform the upgrade.
Analysis
Upgrading from Windows Server 2008 R2 with a GUI installation to Windows Server 2012 with Server Core directly
is not supported. If you do that, you will receive the error message below(Figure 1) in Compatibility report:

In these scenario, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 firstly. After the upgrade process is completed, you can switch freely between Server Core and Server with a GUI modes.
Produces
You can follow the steps below to perform an upgrade from Windows Server 2008 R2 with a GUI installation to Windows Server 2012 Server Core mode:
1. Upgrade to Windows Server 2012 with a GUI mode
1) Firstly, please boot into Windows Server 2008 R2 with a Windows Server 2012 installation DVD inserted.
2) Select the operating system you want to install with a GUI mode.
We can see 2 options (Server Core Installation or Server with a GUI) for each operating system version. (Figure 2)

Note: Please make sure you have enough disk space on system partition. Or you will get such an error in Compatibility report.(Figure 3)

After the Compatibility check, the installation will continue. It will take several minutes until upgrading is done.(Figure 4)

2. Switch the GUI mode to Server Core
Method 1: Using Server Manager
1) Open Server Manager, click
Manger and select “Remove Roles and Features” to start the
Remove Roles and Features Wizard.
2) In Features,
uncheck the box next to the “User Interfaces and Infrastructure” option, and then click “Next”. (Figure 5)

Now tick the “Restart the destination Server automatically if required” box, then click “Remove”. (Figure 6)

Method 2: Using Windows PowerShell
There are multiple ways to remove the GUI via Windows PowerShell, we introduce the way of using the ServerManager module.
You can also run the commands in Windows PowerShell with an administrator to remove the GUI feature:
“Import-Module ServerManager”
“Uninstall-Windowsfeature Server-Gui-Shell –Restart”
or
“Uninstall-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell, Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra –Restart”
It will take a period of time to remove the GUI feature and reboot. When the system boots up, you will get into the Windows Server 2012 with Server Core mode. (Figure 7)

How to replace DHCP server from domainA with DHCP from domainB?

Hello fellow Administrators,
We have one remote site with one subnet. There's domainA domain controller and about 100 domainA's client computers in that subnet. We're about to send 100 domainB's client computers there as well.
There's also domainA's DHCP server running on the same subnet. DHCP scope options include domainA's domain name, gw and domainA's DNS server addresses.
DomainA and DomainB belongs to separate forests and there's two-way trust between them. DomainA DNS has stubzone for DomainB and DomainB has stubzone for domainA. That's how
clients can resolve hostnames of other domain.
All domainA's clients in remote site will be replaced gradually with domainB's client computers, but this can take a long time.
I want to note, that I cannot create second subnet for domainB at the moment.
At some point, we need to deploy DHCP server to domainB's member server in the remote site. What are the steps I should take to replace existing domainA's DHCP server with domainB's DHCP server while still allowing clients from domainA and domainB to successfully
find domain controller of their own domain and being able to resolve hostnames from both domains?

broadcast a request for a DHCP server, and will accept an offer from the first DHCP server
to reply.
Multiple DHCP servers PT 1: Spanning multiple subnets.
If you have several VLANs or physical network segments that are separated into different subnets, and you want to provide a DHCP service to devices in all those subnets then there are two ways of doing this.
If the router / layer 3 switch separating them can act as a BOOTP/DHCP relay agent, then you can continue to keep all your DHCP server(s) in one or two central parts of your network and configure your DHCP server(s) to support multiple ranges of addresses.
In order to support this, your router or layer 3 switch must support the BOOTP relay agent specification covered in section
4 of RFC 1542.
If your router does not support RFC 1542 BOOTP relay agents, or if some of your network segments are geographically dispersed over slow links, then you will need to place one or more DHCP server in each subnet. This ‘local’ DHCP server will only serve its own
local segment’s requirements, and there is no interaction between it and other DHCP servers. If this is what you want then you can simply configure each DHCP server as a standalone server, with the details of the address pool for its own subnet, and not worry
about any other DHCP servers on other parts of the network. This is the most basic example of having more than one DHCP server on the same network.

I am a new iPhone convert. I switched from the HTC EVO that used Google Navigation. Google Navigation in Android allows the user to see the image of the map during actual navigation to be the satellite view instead of the standard map view. I downloaded the Google Navigation App to my iPhone 5 but I can't get the map to switch to satellite view. I can only get the satellite view up for the overview map. Once navigation starts, the screen pops back over to the standard map view. How do I view the satellite image during navigation? Please help....

How to view broadcast tv on Touchsmart with internal tuner

I would like to watch digital over-the-air tv on my Touchsmart420 using the built-in ATSC tuner.
I have connected a tv antenna to the computer.
In Media Center I get a message saying that no tv signal is detected.
Do I need a special kind of tv antenna?
Should the antenna be connected to the port that has an icon looking like a tv with rabbit ears on top (rectangle with v on top and arrow pointing in)?

I tried several different antennae and found that an amplified "rabbit ears" model worked best. I don't need an amplified antenna to get signal on a television in the same room, so perhaps the computer tuner is not as strong.

How to access exchange server's features with java?

I can send/receive mail to MS Exchange Server using JavaMail API. Thats working fine but is it possible to acess other features of MS Exchange Server? At least is it possible to get the list of users in exchange server using java?

JavaMail only speaks the standard internet protocols. I know very little about Exchange,
but I suspect many of its features are not accessible using standard internet protocols.
It's very unlikely that you can get a list of users using one of the standard internet mail
protocols. Certainly none of the protocols support that as a standard feature.

Possible to add and persist elements in server config, for use by cons ext?

I'm considering what will be my obstacles if I try to write a console extension that we would use to view excerpts of an application log file, the application of which is deployed to each server in our domain(s). It doesn't log to the WebLogic server log, it writes it to an external log file (through log4j), and each server (several servers on each box) uses a slightly different path to its log file.
One issue that I'll have is getting the console extension to know what the path to the log file is. I think the best way, over all, is just to have the user enter the path in the form presented by the console extension. My problem is how to persist that setting, because I'd prefer they didn't have to enter that every time they entered the form.
Several years ago, I wrote a console extension for WL 8.1.4 which had a similar issue. I ended up simply writing the setting into a properties file inside the extension WAR. This only works (I believe) if the WAR is deployed exploded. I could do that, but I don't like that idea very much.
What would be nice is if I could "extend" the server config.xml with an additional element in the "Server" element, where I could store this information. Unfortunately, I don't see any support for doing something like that.
Another alternative I'm considering is whether it's possible to extend the "Summary of Log Files" page in "Diagnostics" with an application-specific log file, but I don't see any way to do that.

Well, I appreciate the suggestion, but it's not exactly a secret, to me at least. I've used it for human-readable things recently. It occurred to me that that might be my only option, but I certainly wasn't going to assume that. As it seems like this is likely my only option, I guess I can see some interesting conventions for dealing with this. You have to assume that the field could be written to by other code, and that code would have to make the same assumption. I guess I'd have to define a certain XML element as the root of my structure. If I find it, that region between the start and end element is mine to use and modify. If I don't find it, I'll insert my element at the end of the field value.
