Howto make connection to Oracle UCM from JDeveloper IDE?

I am trying to make a connection to Oracle Content Server from my JDeveloper IDE. I found while searching that this can be done by the following steps:
1)Click on Application Resources on the left hand side widget.
2)On Right clicking on Connections , a New Connection menu opens up.
3)Select Content Repository from this menu.
But in my case i am not getting the Content Repository option in the New Connection menu. Many other options are also missing. Is there some issue with my JDeveloper installation. How can i get this option in the New Connections menu? Can anyone help with this?
Thanks in advance

You can create a connection to UCM for Site Studio for External Applications (SSXA) - see chapter 3 of this manual: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e13650/toc.htm
The question is, however, if it is what you are looking for. If you want to integrate a Java application with UCM (e.g. check-in a document from Java), then you don't need a connection created in the way above - you will create it ad hoc in your Java program - take a look at RIDC (or CIS or WebServices) here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e10807/toc.htm

  • Cannot connect to Oracle 8 from JDeveloper 10g

    Hi everybody,
    I have a connection problem to my local database Oracle 8.0.5, when I try to create a connection from JDeveloper J2EE Developer Preview Edition Version 10.1.3.0.2.223 using Oracle JDBC, when i test the connection.. i have the following messages:
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION
    And when I do the same thing on Oracle 9i Release 2, the connection is ok!!
    Please help me, maybe there's an additional configuration, answer me if anyone have ideas...
    Thanks a lot,
    David

    Hi David,
    I'm afraid future versions of JDeveloper will not be supporting the Database version 8.0.5. We will continue to support 8.1.7 and above versions of the Database but 8.0.5 is no longer supported by Oracle.

  • Connecting to Oracle V7 from JDeveloper 3.1

    I'm just starting to use JDeveloper 3.1 to create a Java application but I can't seem to find a way of making a connection to Oracle7 Server (v 7.1.5.2.4). I use the following code:
    private static void connect() throws SQLException {
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    con = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:oracle:oci7:@148.185.41.14:1521:NRM1",
    "user",
    "password");
    but keep getting the error 'java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError' when I run the application. I'm using an OCI driver because Thin doesn't work on pre 7.3 databases, allegedly. My PC is
    running Windows NT 4 on a client server network. Can anybody please help me satisfy java's demands?

  • How to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition

    I have installed visual basic 2010 express edition on windows xp. But visual basic 2010 express edition supports Microsoft sql server database file,Microsoft sql server compact 3.5, Microsoft access database file. I want to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition. So what drivers are required and how to do connectivity?

    Hello,
    I wasn't clear on what you were using to make the connection. I had a look in Visual Studio 2010 (don't have express to test sorry).
    I think you mean the Data Sources available under the menu Data-> Datasources. this seems to match the description you give when I
    look at the list of datasource options.
    In here you can make ODBC connections via the Microsoft .net Data Provider .
    If you select ODBC as a datasource you can see listed the DSN's you created - for example I see 2 which use the Oracle ODBC driver.
    This assumes you installed an Oracle Client + the oracle version of the ODBC driver (comes with the oracle client).
    Once you created a server connection then you should see it in the server explorer.
    You can also download the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio which is an add on for VS.
    ** I suspect this is only for VS 2010 and I didn't see that Express was supported.

    Let me know if that helps.

  • How to connect to  Oracle database from webdynprojava application

    Hi
    How to connect to  Oracle database from webdynprojava application. where can we provide the code to connect to database.?
    Thank You.

    Hi,
    You need to create  Java Bean model. The bean is a typical java bean with default constructor, getter and setter. You can have additional methods for query etc. The attributes in the class will be your model node and attributes.
    However you need to configure the connection and create JNDI using visual administrator before writing the code.
    You can also consider writing Session EJB with oracle and using them in WD.

    Put the jar file at $FND_TOP/java/3rdparty/standalone and add that jar file entry in jserv.properties. That should do the work for you.

  • How to make connection to ORACLE 7.1.6

    Hi,
    May I have suggestions on how to make connection to ORACLE 7.1.6 on UNIX box?
    Thank you very much for help!
    Jane

    Oracle 7.1.6 hasn't been supported by Oracle in many years. I don't believe that any Oracle product is currently certified to connect to a 7.1.6 database.
    You really need to consider upgrading your database. At least if you went to the 7.3.4 patchset, you'd have a fighting chance. This was the terminal Oracle7 patchset, so most products were still certified against it 12-18 months ago. If you're lucky, they'll still work, though they won't be certified.
    If you need a certified combination, you'll have to upgrade to 8i or 9i.

  • Impossible to connect to BPEL server from Jdeveloper

    We have installed the soa suite in the following way
    -     oracle home 1 on server 1: http server
    -     oracle home 2 on server 1: apps server with two oc4j, one for the jsso and em and another one for bpel.
    I want to deploy the bpel process from jdeveloper.

    <ipaddr remote=”0.0.0.0” request=”0.0.0.0”/>
    After this modification I am able to connect to oracle home 2 from jdeveloper BUT the http URL of enterprise manager and bpel console are no more available.
    So my question is how can I enable the deployment of bpel process from Jdeveloper to the server 1?
    Thanks for your help

    Yes admin instance is running on home 2 and more precisely on oc4j_home.
    BPEL and ESB is also running on home 2 but on another oc4j oc4j_soa
    If I use the standard configuration (the one that has been created during the installation) I am able to reach all the consoles BPEL, ESB or Enterprise Manager.

    Ok. I found out why it is happening.
    If I follow the section 3.1.2 and setup the site studio connection then everything is fine
    3.1.2 Creating a Content Server Connection
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e13650/ssxa_creatingsites.htm#CIHJGHFC
    If I try to create a content server connection from file->new->content server connection then I get a null pointer exception.
    I am sure someone from Oracle will fix it soon. For now all is well with Site Studio.

    Hi ,
    Could you check if Provider services is enabled in workspace settings.
    Scroll down to last,
    And try re-logging into workspace and then open an excel and see if you are able to see Essbase connection.
    Make sure the user has admin access or make the changes through admin id.
