Hi
How to make part of text as bold or differnt color in text edit-webdynpro abap.
If we can make it bold then it is ok....or else atleast we have make it into some other color of part of text.
Note:
I tried with class char utilities and able to solve the issues like new line and carriage return....but could
not make this bold or different color.
Also when I use formatedtextview, I can able to solve this bold issue but I cannot solve this newline or carriage return issue...?
Can any one help on this ?

You have to use the FormattedText UI elements for such a thing. That is their purpose.

What kind of problem did you have with the Formatted Text? Line breaks? Did you try using the br tag?

its urgent..
i have an expression in my ssrs report like

iif(field!xxxx.value=3,field!xxxx.value & "is having perecntage of" & field!percentage.value, field!percentage.value)
now,its having row and column grouping..so, in preview i get 8 rows output
so..i cant take place holders
i need to make bold only the field!percentage.value and field!xxxx.value ...
this static text is having perecntage of should be in normal font only
if used iif(field!percenatge.value="xx",bold,normal) in font weight but not achieved..
can any on please help to me if there is any bold() function that to use in customcode..so that i can use in expression

According to your description, you have a long string in a textbox which concatenate values of two fields and static text. Now you want to set bold style for values of two fields, but still keep the default style for the static text. Right?
In Reporting Service, we can set style for text in a textbox, this style will be effective on whole textbox. However, we can create placeholders in textbox. So in this scenario, we suggest put those parts of text into different placeholders inside of a textbox.
We can set style for each placeholder. Also, we can use expression in Value to set condition for displaying data. We tested your case with some sample data in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
1. Create a table in the report, double click on textbox, right click and select Create Placeholder. Select field in Value (If we want to set condition, put expression in it). Go to Font, select Bold.
2. Repeat step1 to create other two placeholder. For the placeholder with static text, unselect Bold.
3. Save and preview. In our sample report, we set the condition for displaying data (display null string when DocId = 3). It looks like below:

How to print some text in BOLD in a classical report

Hi,
I need to print some selected text in BOLD in classical report.
Went through SDN forum...came across some suggestions like using class cl_dd_document and its functions..
The problem is that one of its function "add_text" allows to highlight text...but the display function "display_document" requires a container to display, whereas mine is a simple classical report...am i wrong somewhere..or is there any other method to do the same...

I am not sure that is possible on a classical report ntu you can use colors to highlight a part of the report output in order to check the various options you have with format is to check F1 on format.

I am mapping data in the XML to a Template designed using LiveCycle Designer ES3.
I need to print some of the text in BOLD.
For exmple in the following XML, when we display the text in PDF, person names should be in BOLD.
Part of the XML that is fed to template designer.

What is expected in the PDF:
Mike and Mary are Mark's parents.

Dialog Header Text in bold

I am using the JavaFX dialogs. I have made a dialog as follows:
     Alert d = new Alert(AlertType.CONFIRMATION);
     d.setTitle(Resources.R(Resources.DELETE_DATA_SOURCE));
     d.setHeaderText(...);
I want to make part of the header text bold -- I want a message like "Really delete X" where X is in bold.
Is there any way to do this with a dialog (other than rolling my own?).

Hi Srini ,
IF you are using the BAPI_PO_CREATE , we are not having the parameter to pass Header Text.
If you want to get Header Text directly then Use BAPI_PO_CREATE1 wiht a parameter POTEXTHEADER (I am not sure it is there in 4.7).
If BAPI_PO_CREATE1 does not exist in 4.7 then use create_text function module to update the the Header text

Load multiple parts of an XML file into one dynamic Text Field

Hi I am trying to load text from an external XML file into a dynamic text box. I have so far managed to load single parts of the XML file into a dynamic text field. I now want to be able to load different parts of the XML file (something similar to a string with appendText) into the same text Field.
I have so far managed to achive this using the String and append text properties, but would like to use XML file to do it instead.
Any tips please?

Format bold text in field and putting some text on new line - Help!

I am lost. I found the rich text formating item to click. But after that, I don't know what to do next. I want to bold some characters and I want some reponses on separate lines as I asked previously. As to spans and the commands - I have no programming experience. I have just been using what George has given me. It has worked well, but I just need the bold text in some of the field text to be printed and I need some items to be on separate lines. But I have no idea where to put the information you are saying about spans and I do not know the script to use to bold text or to start text on new line. Am I to insert it in the calculation box of the text box? Sorry to be so lame, but I am void in programming skills. Help!

Look at the reference of the richValue property of the Field object. It contains a couple of examples of how it should be done. Also read the reference of the Span object.

Bold text appears bold and italic

Hi Folks,
Can anyone please explain why this happens?
In FW when I click the bold text button, the text appears bold but italic aswell.

That's unusual. Which version of Fireworks and what operating system are you using?
If you click on the Faux Italic button, is the italic styling removed? (It should be. If not, click twice.) You might want to try quitting and restarting the application—or shutting down and restarting your computer—and see if this takes care of the problem.
FYI: It's generally a better choice to add bolding via the Font Style dropdown menu, if that style is available within the currently selected font family.

I want to send a text in BOLD via email,
Right now i ma using the Function Module: SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 for sending attachments via mail.
But i do not know how i can send some text in BOLD.
****NOTE: I want the text in BOLD is in the BODY of the mail
I checked the Import and tables parameters inthat FM.But there is no option in those parameters.
So, can any one plz help me to solve this issue.

Convert them into smartform or SAP Script from report then convert into pdf format and then send an email ...

Just give atry in this way..
open the same program ans selection-screen screen no will be 1000 in se51 screen painter,
go to properties of the texts u want to change then go to display tab and check the checkbox bright.
it may or may not work but this will work in module pool .
just give a try...

How to give Bold style inside Single Text Frame

I created a text frame with some text in it. It comes in three paragraphs. First para is the title with two words and below two are small description. All the text is kept in single textframe and I need that to be in single frame only. NOW, I need to bold the first para that is the title with two words. How can I write the code to give bold style to the first paragraph inside that frame? Do I need to take different frame? I want all in single actually. Also I want the entire text frame to give my customized text color.

It's CS2. I need to put some text in all (many) documents I work regularly. Instead of copying from the previous file or any other source, as the text is same for all, I thought of writing the script with the text itself. Running that will create text frame and write the text. Got almost but was unable to bold the title of the text which I mentioned earlier as a first paragraph with two words.
Also I couldn't give the my color swatch to the text.
Here is my script:
