Thanks so much for replying to my post. I tried the fist suggestions and they did not work. So, I attempted to move on Dow to the cleaning of my printer. I am the the first to admit that I'm not the genius when it come to electronics buys, my printer do not seem to have what is described in the photos. I'd like to upload a photo of my ink cartage but do not know how.
Charleshia, you can upload a photo here to reply. Click Reply, then on the window you'll see the image below..
click the one which has the red box, it's where you insert the photo
Going back on your issue.. the basic step would be.. take out the inks then close the door... what error message you  got? If it's saying "Missing Ink Cartridge" just hit OK. Unplug the power cable at back of the printer, plug it back in.. Clean the copper contacts on the ink cartridges using a lint free cloth then reinstall them. Let me know if it resolved it or not.. I can only give basic troubleshooting here

  • HP C309a All in one Printer - Problems with printing documents the correct size.

Hi I recently purchased an HP 309a as a replacement for an EPSON printer which had to be replaced a couple of times so I thought I would change manufacturer.
The HP printer prints well in post places but when I print from Excel on an A4 scale it only prints 3/4 size on an A4 page.  I tried everything to get it to print the correct size.  I have adjusted the settings to scale to A4, print boderless etc and it just will not print correctly.
It seems to be ok in Word and many other programs so I don't know why there is an issue with Excel.  Iam I missing something, please help.
Also is there any way to default the printer to A4 automatically instead of 8" x 11".

I also have issues using this printer with Excel/ Word.
When I am using Excel or Word I have to remove the HP 309a as my default printer.
when set as default, excel and word just "hang" for up to 3 minutes when opening or saving.
I called HP who said the printer works with all other files so basically it's tough. One of their tech guys tried to sort it out but couldn't.
Has anyone else had this same problem? If so, how was it resolved?
£300 for a printer that doesn't work with MS. It's not funny and I won't buy HP product again.

  • HP8600 Officejet all in one -scanning problem with ADF

Hi there - I have an Officejet 8600 all in one printer-scanner etc.  I love it - it copies no problem - it used to scan both from the Automatic Document Feeder and from  the glass.
NOW - it prints OK - it scans from the flatbed glass OK - but when you scan a document in from  the document feeder - it scans 4 pages 1inch high then the document.  This is really irritating as it never used to do this and I dont want to have to scan pages one at a time from  the glass.
    Thanks for your help!
    Stella

Hi @Stella33, and welcome to the HP Forums! I would be happy to help you with your 8600.
Based on your description, it sounds like the issue is limited to the document feeder. Although the document does pick up paper, the following document will guide you through helpful troubleshooting steps to potentially solve the issue you are experiencing; The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Does Not Pick Up Paper.
    I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet 6800 e-All-in-One-series - issues with printing from MSWord / Setup

I have been trying to set up the HP Officejet it seems for over 2 weeks - it works then doesn't - I dont want to return it but if it doesnt work proper .... I removed and reinstalled software - yesterday printed from MSWORD - today its not --- it will print pages off the internet but not from my MSWORD - its set up wirelessly - so frustrated - and what's worse is I am HP lover and now I cant even find a HP support phone number to call and I am pretty sure I remember being told while I was making my purchasing decision I could call HP for support with reference to set up when I bought the printer. Can someone tell me if the printer then not working is normal for this printer - with reference to printing MSWORD etc and if not is there some special place I am suppose to click to fix - thank you in advance

    Hi @TheoD,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
Sorry to hear about your frustration with not being able to print from MS Word with your HP Officejet 6800 printer. But I am happy to help!
It is definitely odd that this printer is not printing from MS Word but will from the Internet. I am not seeing much documentation for an HP Officejet 6800, is it possible that you have the HP Officejet 8600? Just double-checking to make sure I provide the correct information. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
For further assistance, I will also need to know what Operating System you are using. Windows or Mac? What version? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
If you are using Windows, please try our HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!
Otherwise, if you still prefer to call someone, please call our phone support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.

  • HP Printer problems with printing in one ink colour

My printer is only printing in a single colour, which is Red.

Hey ,  Thanks for posting in the HP Support Forum.  I see that you're encountering a print quality issue with your HP printer.  I would like to help.  In order to provide the most relevant information I need to know which printer model you're working with.  When I search 'J250 Series Printer' on our website it brings up several different models.    Please clarify this information and I'll be sure to reply with steps you can try.  Thanks,

  • Printing problem with Print Layout Border:

I can't get Pages to recognize the Border: function under Layout when I go to Print. I'm using an HP Photosmart C6280 with Driver Version 2.3.1 (which I believe is the latest version).
It appears that I have everything set up correctly. A month or so ago I had problems printing shadows and two-sided pages. The driver update fixed those problems. So I'm caught between wondering if I've got something set incorrectly or have stumbled across another bug.

    MWU,
I received the following response from HP. I use a C7280, so the references here are to that model. You would need to substitute downloads appropriate to your C6280. Their recommendation is obviously quite involved, and it would be your choice as to whether you would want to do all this. I guess some of it depends on balancing your needs with what they suggest. I do not want to go through all this for my own printer, even though I have experienced the same border problem. In these forums, it is important that we only post suggestions that have been tried and evaluated. I have NOT evaluated what they suggest, but I said I would relay to you what they recommended, and that is what I'm doing. Your work-around may be the simpler choice. This is what they wrote:
There are pre-installed generic drivers called Guten drivers within the Macintosh os 10.5 which may be causing the software conflict or corruption leading to this issue. The most effective way of resolving this situation is to remove all files relating to HP printers and then install the latest drivers that are available from the HP website.

When you see the message that the Verification is complete, click on Repair Disk Permissions.
This process may take several minutes, afterwards close the Disk Utility by single-clicking the red dot from the trio at the top left of this dialog box.
Now install the software for the printer. If there is other HP hardware that needs to be re-installed we recommend doing so afterwards.
Double-click the downloaded file containing the software for the printer.
Double-click the Installation file; it will be either All-in-One Installer or Vise Installer.
Proceed through the questions asked, if prompted for an account and password this will be the password for the user account you are currently logged into.

In some situations the All-in-One Setup Assistant will ask you to open the Printer Setup Utility in order to add the printer manually. If prompted with this please do the following:
As the HP All-in-One is connected through a network using Ethernet or wireless:
Click the button labeled Printer Setup Utility.
When the Printer Setup Utility opens, click the Add button.
Click the More Printers button at the bottom; a new dialog box will open.
Now select HP IP Printing from the drop down menu
Select your unit from the list of printers available.
Now you may close the Printer Setup Utility by clicking the red dot at the top-left corner of this window. Complete the installation by registering the product if you have not already done so and choosing whether you wish to see the Product tour or not.
Now double-click on the downloaded Update file and follow the prompts to install it.
We recommend trying both printing and scanning to prove the functionality of both.
    **NOTE**
When the updated software has been completely installed and all functions are verified, you may trash the loginwindow.plist as it is no longer required.
This should resolve the issue. If you need further assistance, please reply to this message and we will be happy to assist you further.
    I'm back....good luck!

  • Printing problem with printer EPSON 1070+

    Hi ,
I am printing Document using  SAP smartforms on EPSON 1070+ Printer. The device type used for task is EPESCP.
Page foramt I am using is DIN3.
When print is taken on specified printer it is printing all content of document in one font and not in the font which has been attached part of text.Document is display properly(text in different fonts) in print preview, but output on actual printer comes differently.
What should be done to correct problem ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Amit R

    Hi Amit,
Have you checked by printing Word document on same printer??...
If the right part of the paper still left blank, then margin setting of the printer in windows has problem,
Otherwise check it in SPAD only.
Also check your Margin settings at printer.

  • I had a problem with print preview of billing document.

    HI all,
I had a problem with print preview of billing document which contains two output types ZR1 ZR2..
For the footer text of billing document I maintained the font size as 7,5 pts, But when i go for print preview from output type ZR1 the font size of footer text is very small and looks good for output type ZR2.
If i change the print options-->logical destination of output type ZR1 same as Output type ZR2, the footer text looks good.
I think there is some issue with logical destination in print options for the output type ZR1, how can i resolve  it.

    hi,
for both the output types , r u using same sapscript or smartform?
if yes then, u can control it in output options of smartform and also in sapscript , you can control through if condition.
and if differect sapscript or smartform then you should not get such problem.
you can check the sapscript or smartfrom in TNAPR table.

  • Problem with printing more than one page (ghostscript broken?)

    Hello,
since one of the last package updates I have problems with printing more than one page. The print problems occurs as well with pdf files as well with printing websites. I use an actual KDE system with commercial turboprint printer driver. The first page always prints fine, but all consecutive pages are corrupted.  As from a similar problem some months ago, I assume a broken ghostscript package. I tried to downgrade ghostscript to check that, but I get depency problems:

Anyone else having printing problems or a solution for my problem?
    Thanks, Dieter

This may not be related but I had a problem printing a pdf today whereby the second page got corrupted. The same pdf had printed fine several months ago. I realised that (long story) for some reason I had switched drivers (HP printer) from hpijs to hpcups. I installed the printer again as a "new" printer using the hpijs driver and it printed properly this time.
So it may be that the bug causes issues with some drivers. You could try an alternative driver for the printer as temporary workaround?

  • Officejet 4622 all in one error status

My officejet 4622 all in one, using windows 8 os, has totally stopped printing anything but test pages. Had the blue light flasing for a week saying it was offline ~ solved that problem, but now all I get is "status: error". Have checked all connections, rebooted wireless router, used every tool available on the printer, absolutely will not print. Don't want to replace it, but I will if I can't get it printing again. Help

    Hi @1oldgoat
I see you are having some difficulty with your 4622. There are a few things we can check. First, do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.   Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers.
Also, make sure you have the latest firmware update. This firmware update can improve printer performance and fix miscellaneous defects.
    OJ4620_R1424A.exe
Finally, running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Source:Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> www.hp.com/go/tools
If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 "Problem with Printer or Ink System'

A gander at this forum suggests I am one ofa multitude of people perplexed by this issue. There is a notation beside one enquiry which says 'Problem Solved'.... well it isn't for me. My printer (typical!) is one month out of warranty. I had to replace the black cartridge and, when I did, it came up with this error prompt. I then replaced all the other cartridges. HP suggests removing the printhead and following that they say place it 'upside down on a clean sheet of paper'... NO instructions for cleaning it!! When it is replaced in the printer they suggest you 'rock the printhead left and right to make sure that the printhead fully seats in the carriage' and if THIS doesn't fix things 'try reseating the printhead up to 3 times'... This in itself is an admission of an 'issue' with this product. It doesn't sound like a very scientific engineering 'fix' to me!
A new printhead costs almost what we paid for the printer a year ago. I hate consigning anything to landfill that I can avoid... unfortunately it looks like that is where this unit belongs...

  • Printing problems with InDesign CS3 running on OS 10.6

I recently upgrade my old G4 Mac (OS 10.4) to a new Mac Mini running OS 10.6.6. I am still running CS3 and have encountered only one problem. When I print multiple copies documents from InDesign that contain several layers, each copy is processed separately, so that it can take several minutes just to send the print job to the printer if I'm printing over 20 copies. Then once the print job is processed the printer pauses between every copy, which is tripling the printing time. If I print a simpler document with only one or two layers it processes all the copies at once, as it should. I am printing on an Okidata 6150 color laser printer.
I never had this problem on my old computer. I'm wondering if this is one of the "unsupported" bugs of running CS3 on Snow Leopard. I want to make sure that this is a problem unique to running CS3 with Snow Leopard before I go ahead and upgrade to CS4 or CS5.
computer: Mac Mini core 2 duo 2.4 ghz processors, 4 gb RAM, printer: Okidata 6150 DN color laser printer.

    Hi again Peter
It is version 5.0.4.  I updated it when I newly installed it a week ago in my new computer, and then again updated it just yesterday.
I might mention that before I got my new computer, I was running Mac OS 4.11, and was using InDesign 3.0.  I had bought InDesign CS3 about a year ago, but hadn't gotten around to using it since version 3.0 had been working fine, and I was used to it.  Then, when I got my new computer, I decided it was time to use the newer version.  However, while using InDesign 3.0 with the old Mac OS 4.11, a printing problem popped up there, too, a few months ago... and it also involved printing problems with Adobe Reader.  I contacted Adobe, and they sent me a patch which fixed it.  I will contact Adobe again if need be, although I thought I'd start here first to see if it was a common enough problem that someone might be able to provide a free and routine answer.

I neglected to ask what version of indesign CS3 you are using. I also
notice that Mac OSX 10.6.4 has just been released. It actually
addresses some CS3-specific issues, though they seem to be related to
launching the apps, not printing. It may be worth trying to update,
    nonetheless.

  • Problems with printer and network connectivity

So I've been using an HP B110a photosmart wireless e-all-in-one printer that I got with my macbook pro and at the start, everything worked perfectly in terms of wireless printing, ePrint, and AirPrint. But recently, when I try to print wirelessly, it says the printer is not connected and I also can't find it on the list of nearby printers on the 'add printer' window. I also had problems with printing via ePrint but those have cleared up (I don't know what was wrong but it's fine now). Printing with AirPrint on my iPod touch has stopped working as well because the printer doesn't show up when I search for nearby printers.
    Here's what I've checked/tried so far:
All the wireless services are enabled on my printer and my mac
I've reset the printing system on my mac, printer settings to factory defaults
    Restarted mac/printer/iPod
    Restarted router
Reinstalled HP printing software that came with the printer
All software is up to date
Wireless printing on another windows computer does work
Setting up wireless printing using the HP install disc doesn't work
Trying to add a new printer using the HP software disc that came with the printer is unsuccessful in locating the printer as well.
    Printing over USB is problem-free
When I tried restarting the printer/router, I could see the printer for just a few minutes in the 'add printer' list but then it would disappear from the list and the printer would be 'not connected' so I can't print wirelessly.

  • Printing problems with Elements and iPhoto on OSX 10.5.7

I am having problems with printing photos on my printer (Canon iP4000) since getting the new iMac with OSX (10.5.7) and using Photoshop Elements 6 and iPhoto. The Canon printer driver (and all my other data) were copied to my Mac by the techs at the Apple store from which I purchased the iMac. (I previously had a Mac G4 with OSX 10.4.11 Panther.)
Photos that used to come out crystal clear and brilliant on the printer from the G4, now are faint with kind of a white veil. When I try to print in Elements, I get a message that says "Some PostScript specific print settings (Interpolation, Calibration, Encoding) will be ignored since you are printing to a non-PostScript printer." I really have no idea what that means. Anybody?
Text printing comes out fine, both from word processing documents and web pages. I am using the latest printer driver (4.8.3) for the iP4000 (probably 4 years old or so), and there are no new driver downloads available for it. I trashed the Canon software/drivers and reinstalled, to no avail.
Canon Support has been helpful and have made many suggestions, but none has worked. I tried printing with Canon's EasyPhotoPrint app, and the photos print fine. So the problem appears to be a compatibility of the printer with Elements 6 and iPhoto.
Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone have an opinion if this means I need to get a new printer? If so, any suggestions on a good, moderately priced one for Leopard on the iMac that will definitely work with Elements 6 and iPhoto?

The v4.8.3 driver she has is the latest version Canon has supplied.
Given the driver is working okay from some other applications, there has to be something amiss with the colour management of iPhoto and PSE6.
For iPhoto, as a test I would suggest the Color Options > Color Correction is set to None to see how this impacts the printed image. Then I would try the BJ Standard and ColrSync settings to see how the output is affected.
During the Color Options trial, ensure the Quality & Media > Media Type is set to the appropriate paper type, such as Photo Paper and the Print Mode be set to Top Quality Photo. With regards to the Media Type setting, some of the paper stocks have a profile associated with them. If you use Photo paper but use the Plain setting, then you will get a washed out print.
