HP 8600 Single Tray Model Won't Draw Paper

Hi, I've had my HP 8600 model printer, single paper tray version, since June 2013.  It has never failed to impress me with the quality of print and speed.  I also have not had a problem with the unit.  Until today.  The unit gave me the message that I was out of paper, but when I went to fill it, there were approximately 50 pieces still in the tray.  I tried it again and again.  It would sound like it was pulling paper but then come back with the empty paper tray error message.
I noticed that each time I pulled the tray back out there was a piece of paper that had indeed started to draw but never went all the way in.  I would pull this paper out each time and then reinsert the loaded tray.  Upon trying to print again I would find another the next time I tried to print something today.
Thanks for any help.

Hi GLSFireworksMan,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you keep getting a out of paper message.
I will be happy to help you.
I would do a power reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
With the printer still turned on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer, if the printer has external power module with a detachable power cord disconnect it for 15 seconds and then reconnect it.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to drain the power.
Then disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable back to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and power it on again.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
Then I would update the printer's firmware. Product Support & Troubleshooting.
Select your product and select next, then select the operating system and click next.
Click on the firmware link.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
Have a great weekend!

My iMac 2009 model won't start. Was working fine the night before, tried to on it but still no response. I also tried unplugging and plugging into the main switch plus other power points several times , doesn't work either. Please assist as most of work and important information are stored in it. Thank you

When you press the power button, what happens?  When you say "no response," does that mean it does not power on at all?
You unplugged from power and plugged it back, but I would try it again following this procedure for resetting SMC exactly
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
When you connect it back, if you are using a "power strip," try connecting it directly to a wall outlet.  Be sure to check the connection of the power cord at the iMac end (disconnect and reconnect there too).  You should disconnect ALL cables from the iMac and try to start it up with only the power cord connected.

  • Single Threaded Model JSP- Servlet

Servelts can be set to have thread safe access (Single thread model). However, when a JSP is converted in to a servlet, is the servlet tagged as to use the single thread model?

As of JSP specification 1.2 the default value for the "isThreadSafe" attribute of the page directive is true indicating that the container can direct multiple requests to the page simultaneously. If this value is set to false then the requests will be sent one at a time.

  • Wbs modeler won't load visio 2013 pro/office 365

    Hi,
I've installed WBS Modeler add-in onto my Win 7/Visio 2013 Pro/Office 365 laptop, but the Modeler won't load.  When I start Visio and check the addins, the WBS Modeler shows up as an Inactive Application Add-In.  When I check the COM add-ins, the
add-in shows up in the list, however the Load Behavior is: "Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.".  The location looks messed up too. It is: "C:Program Files (x86)\Visio Add-In for WBS Modeler\\WBSModeler.vsto|vstolocal".
I've uninstalled/reinstalled/repaired several times -- all with the same behavior.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi,
There is a similar issue, it says that we can use the 32-bit WBS modeler to run on PC. I faced the same issue using the 64 bit install, but the 32 bit version works well on 64 bit Visio
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-visio/does-visio-2013-have-a-wbs-modeler-add-in/bfa5a396-ad7d-4156-a2d4-c547002670d6
I reproduce on my PC, the 32-bit WBS modeler works normally on 64-bit Visio.
If there is anything I can do for you regarding this issue, feel free to post back.

  • Scenario for a single forest model

    Kind greetings.
Could anybody please help me to know the best suited scenarios for a single forest model?
I would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Tino,
    Thanks for your reply.
The deployment below is a simple environment with a single domain in a single forest, you can take it as an example:
Server1: Domain Controller and DNS server (only one NIC with a static IP address and DNS server points to itself)
Server2: Domain member (in the same subnet with Server1, DNS server points to Server1)
Install AD DS in server manager on server1, choose Create a new forest on Choose a Deployment Configuration page. On the Domain Controller Options page, select DNS server option and create the first domain controller with DNS role in a new forest.
Then promote server1 to a Domain Controller. After that, add Server2 to the domain.

  • Supply scenario for single contract model

    Hi together,
in normal case, a differnentiation in the supply of a point of delivery is made, using the supply scenario.
There it is defined, if it is only a grid usage, supply or any other kind of business scenario.
    Now my question is:
does it make sence, to implement the functionality of the supply scenario, when I have a company in a country, that still has a single-contract-model (grid-usage and supply in one contract) ?
Where the differentation is made in the rate category on installation level and via the billing master data ?
And where only big customers ( > 100.000 kwh) are allowed to swich suppliers as they want to.
I have searched for information in this case, but did not really found any that is telling, that it is worth implementing it or stating, no, better not, because using the supply scenario functionality does only make sence, when implementing a two-contract-model (even in one SAP IS-U client) ?
What do you recommend / suggest / think ?
Thank you for your help and effort.
    Kind regards,
    Manuel

    Manuel:
The supply scenario is used to define the service providers at the POD and contract – it was designed to provide the ability to automatically assign service providers to the POD and contract. It was designed to enable customers to implement using the single contract model; it can be used for a multiple contract model as well.
Supply scenario uses MDT to assign service providers and update master data (e.g. rate category). It is possible to copy the standard MDT and provide rules on how the master data is updated when there is a supply scenario change.
    regards,
    bill.

My MX892 is clicking and can not draw paper - I get a load paper error message - any suggestions?

    Hi keciakh,
To try and get the paper to feed, with a flashlight or other bright light, please check the paper feed area of the printer and verify that there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that may be causing the error.   Once this has been done, please look inside of the printer where the inks are located and ensure that there are no obstructions in there that may be causing the print head not to move freely.  Next, please remove and reseat all of the ink tanks in the printer.  Once all of these steps have been performed, please follow the steps below to perform a roller cleaning on the printer:
You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper
    1. Make sure that the power is turned on.
    2. Open the paper output tray gently.
    3. Select Roller cleaning.
    (1) Press the MENU button.
    (2) Select Setup, then press the OK button.  The setup menu screen will appear.
    (3) Select Maintenance, then press the OK button.  The Maintenance screen will appear.
    (4) Select Roller cleaning, then press the OK button.
    The confirmation screen will appear.
    (5) Select Yes, then press the OK button.
    (6) Select the paper source to clean (Rear tray or Cassette), then press the OK button.
    4. Clean the paper feed roller without paper.
    (1) Follow the message to remove any paper from the paper source you selected in (6) of step 3.
    (2) Press the OK button.  The paper feed roller will rotate as it is cleaned.
    5. Clean the paper feed roller with paper.
    (1) Make sure that the paper feed roller has stopped rotating, then follow the message to load three or more sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the paper source you selected in (6) of step 3.
    (2) Press the OK button.  The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be complete when the paper is ejected.

  • Can I set an HP LJ4000T to stop printing if Tray 2 runs out of paper while leaving AUTO CONTINUE ON?

I'm dealing with an issue here where I'd like my HP LJ4000T to stop printing completely if Tray 2 runs out of paper.  Currently it automatically prints to Tray 3 which has a different paper type.
On the other hand, I'd like to keep AUTO CONTINUE set to ON.  Can this be done or is this just a direct contradiction?

I agree anti-relay can be using UBE feature. However, there is serious problem in reject the spam mail. My nms is using UBE feature to stop spam mail. According to the work flow of the UBE, the mail is received by nms completely and UBE is going to invesgate the mail address. Although UBE can stop the spam mail, the spam mail have a trouble in returning the mail to the sender. The reason is the sender address is usually not existed in the world. That will cause a lot of mail waiting in the mail queue.
In my experience, do not use UBE for anti-relay.

  • High level process model for a Pulp & Paper Industry

    Hi:
Someone can help me?, i'm looking for a organizational reference model for a pulp & paper company, under the alignment for best practices in to SAP R/3
I need know what is the best model for this kind company (chain value, macro process, business process, sub process...)
    Thanks in advance

    hi,
    thanks for yor points.
at that time it was opened.for me also it was warning  the same, any way iam providing some more info on it. pls have a look on it.
Pulp and paper industry facing IT modernisation needs
Today most pulp and paper industry companies face serious financial challenges to increase return on investment and improve capital utilisation.
Companies are working to improve the efficiency of their supply chains and thereby reduce working capital, increase transaction velocity and improve inventory turnover. Mergers, acquisitions and alliances are reshaping the pulp and paper industry. Although the pulp and paper industry has invested heavily in IT systems, a large variety of old systems is often complex, inflexible in regard to integration and difficult to operate. As they reflect past organisations and business models, the streamlining of business processes is difficult.
Mega trends in the pulp and paper industry IT.
The pulp and paper industry is stepping into a new phase of business evolution driven by consolidation of industry, globalisation and ever-increasing competition. These market drivers are forcing the pulp and paper industry to put a greater focus on cost efficiency. These focuses are creating totally new challenges for the organisation, specifically in the IT area.
IT is increasingly becoming a commodity. This is a result of product standardisation and the popularity of off-the-shelf-products that facilitate the economies of scale. This phenomenon is also supported by increasing utilisation of competence resources in low-cost countries.
Managing change becomes more and more difficult. Very often companies face the need for new changes before they have seen the benefits of the previous ones. The cycle of change is short and the transformation environment becomes very complicated. On the other hand, IT becomes the tool in forcing business changes to happen. Often the only practical way to roll out new processes and practices is through the modernisation of information systems.
Like many other industries, the pulp and paper industry is concentrating on providing digitalised self-services as part of their business development.
    Industry background
Since the consolidation and globalisation of the pulp and paper industry, there has been increasing pressure to continuously improve both its internal and external efficiency. In the large pulp and paper mills, production management systems typically consist of several different systems, which might also be from different suppliers. Systems are often isolated islands, which are successful in managing information of their own area but they lack the comprehensive information exploiting and sharing. This has resulted in a complex and inflexible architecture of legacy systems. These legacy systems are expensive to manage and difficult to develop to meet business requirements.
This pressure has led to massive IT investments and a continuous rebuild of the IT environments in order to meet efficiency challenges. Although many pulp and paper mills have invested a lot in building up their business supporting IT, especially Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the return on investment is often difficult to measure. There is a lot of potential to improve usability of systems by harmonising business processes and integrating the systems more efficiently in order to better support actual business needs.
Most pulp and paper industry companies have thus come to a point where a more radical rebuild and renewal of the entire IT and network environment is required. Fortunately, the conditions for this have improved over the last few years, due largely to an increasing range of commercially available application platforms adopted for the pulp and paper industry, the acceptance of common industry standards, and the evolution of refined integration and migration methods.
Renewing and harmonising the company’s operations and IT systems is still, however, a demanding undertaking. Securing continuous operations, while at the same time replacing the core systems and processes, requires a high level of expertise in pulp and paper industry processes and information technology. To complement the in-house competence, the pulp and paper industry will need to establish partnerships with outside solution providers and system integrators. To minimise risks and keep control of business-critical technology, new delivery models will be a necessity.

  • Pixma mx 922 will not print a pic from the lower tray. Cannot put 8x10 paper in upper tray.

I cannot print a picture using the paper in the lower tray and cannot make 8x10 paper fit in the upper tray. Is this normal for this printer. I should have stayed with a HP printer. I am using an iPad 2.

Actually both wireless problems are mentioned frequently on the web, by many people.  I was finally able to figure a solution out because there were so many threads to choose from when you Google it...never had problems with any other wireless equipment connecting in all of the years we have used them, just this printer...As I said, a fan of Canon in all forms for years.   Just not this printer.  Regret giving up the MX850.  Have gained nothing with this printer, techinically or print quality wise..  Feels like a step back, actually. And many others have mentioned how agonizingly long it takes to fire up to print or when you change settings.   It is a major complaint with this printer.   As to the Airprint info of the 4"x6" only printing, I was not aware of that.  Maybe if printer manufacturers put that info in their sales material in the section dealing with Airprint,  we would be able to manage expectations better....

  • Disc tray door won't open or close

    Hello everyone,
Maybe someone can help me out. I just purchased a new iMac so I am getting ready to sell my old and faithful iMac flat panel (at least it was faithful until now). In preparation for the sale I reloaded the original software that came with the computer and I chose to NOT archive (so that it would delete all of the old data). Everything seems fine and all of the programs are working but now for some reason the disc tray door will not open or close when I press the "eject media" button on the keyboard.
I researched as much as I could about the disc tray and I know that if I restart the computer with the mouse button held the tray door will open - which it does. But then it won't close unless I give it a little push manually. And once it is closed, it won't open again without another restart/mouse trick. I tried repairing permissions and restarting, but this didn't seem to help at all.
    Any thoughts?
    Lincoln
PS: The original OS that I installed was 10.2. But I also have 10.3, 10.4, and 10.6. Do you think if I loaded one of these more recent operating systems that the "eject media" would start working again?

    Hi Barry,
Well, the knowledge base articles didn't help. But then I checked to see if there were any "software updates" and realized that there was a "10.2 combo update" plus a bunch of other updates, so I downloaded everything and when I restarted the computer -- everything works again!!
My computer is back to its old reliable self again, so I guess I can try to sell it on eBay now.
    Thanks for all your help,
    Lincoln
PS: Anyone want to buy a nice little iMac Flat Panel?
