Solution Monitoring System Overview

There are non-production systems showing in the system overview in Solution Monitoring.  They are dev and QA systems that are in the logical component.  How do I removc them?

Hello Jerry,
Solution Monitoring overview just displays the the solutions and the number of systems rated green, yellow, red, etc for
Earlywatch Reports, System Monitoring, Business Process Monitoring, and Open Tasks.
As you can see Solution Monitoring is based on Solution, so whatever systems you have included in that solution will be included in the solution. The overview is an overview of the solutions in Solutin Monitoring. This is why it is called Solution Monitoring.
If you are talking about System Monitoring, or BPM or EWA, etc, then if you don't want non-production systems included, then they should not be included in the solution, or the status of those systems in the solution should not be "Put in Solution".
Perhaps you have not set up your solutions in the best way?
Regards,
Paul

    Hi,
I am in the process of setting up monitoring for R/3 system from Solution Manager. Defined all required entries in SMSY. In the section Solution Monitoring -> System Monitor/Administration, the system overview is showing empty.... I mean SID names are not showing. Any idea what could be wrong ?
    Thanks

    Hi Aravind,
The only cause to this problem is your igs is not working and could be one more reason i.e you have not activated the services ( html, http, bsp and others ) in transaction SICF
you try this way and to activate the services follow the instruction from SPRO

  • Solution manager system monitoring configuration

    Hi
I am configuring system monitoring in solution manager (Oracle / Solman 7.0 EHP1 / Windows 2008 / VM)
I have added a satellite system to solution manager thru CCMS and CCMSPING agents. These are visible in RZ21 / Technical infrastructure / Overview. This has also been added in SMSY, SMSY when refreshed pulls out data from the satellite system. However I am having trouble with the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER. This is where I setup system monitoring.
Here I find the solution maanger system however am not able to find the satellite system which I had added.
    Thoughts?
    thanks
    Ravi

    Hi,
Have you defined and added corresponding logical systems for the respective satellite systems?
Here is the sequence of steps you've to do:
    in SMSY:
    1) Define server, DB, Systems
    2) Generate READ, TMW, TRUSTED RFCs to the satellite systems
    3) define logical systems and assign the satellite system to it
    in Solution_Manager:
    1) define new solution
    2) add the logical system into the solution
If these steps are successful, you should be able to see the satellite system in SYSTEM MONITORING in Solution_Manager.
Have you already done these steps?
    After performing these steps:
    Solution_Manager>choose relevant solution>operations setup>Solution Monitoring>System monitoring>Activate monitoring> choose the system and activate monitoring.
    Your system will then appear.
    Does this help any way?

  • Solution Manager System Monitoring of a CE 7.10

    Hi
I am trying to setup a Solution Manager Monitoring Solution for a CE 7.10 Enviroment.
I have already setup CEN in SOLMAN.
I have registered CE Systems with a sapccmsr j2ee agent.
I have setup the JCO RFC Connection in CE.
I have created the TCP/IP Connection to the JCO Connection in Solman.
I have set the TCP/IP Connection in RZ21 as the J2EE Customizing Destination.
The solution involves only 1 Logical Component with 3 CE Systems.
When I go to the solution manager setup and try to configure the MTE Nodes for my solution I cannot get the MTE context while clicking in Activate Monitoring for other Software Components
I choose Java Application Server, choose my server, choose CEn but when i have to choose the context of the MTE i get an empty list.
IF i go Activate Monitoring for Other Servers and choose the server I get the contexts of the remote server, but I can only choose one.
So how can I see the context of the CE servers in the Software component part?

  • Solution Manager - System Monitoring

    Hi Basis associates,
This is a open discussion for SAP Basis experts to discuss what the pain points are when it comes to SAP System Monitoring on
    1. Solution Manager
    2. Third party Monitoring tools
for any SAP Application (ABAP, ABAP+Java, Java only)
Also, what are the additional parameters that Solution Manager needs to monitor to make the monitoring easier?

No, I do not see that.
Do you see the Alert Overview button?
Yes, I could see that button.
If so, does it show any alerts when you click it?

  • Nothing is displayed in System Overview.

    Hi,
I have taken over a Solution Manager and will set up system monitoring. When selecting Solution Monitoring > System Monitoring no system overview is displayed. Only this text:
    "Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable."
It looks like the system overview should be displayed in web, but that is not possible for the moment. EWAs are displayed, by the way. Also when selecting Alert Overview (button) a DEV system is displayed with a few alerts).
I assume there are some settings that are not correctly configured. Does anyone know more about this?
    Thanks!

  • Solution Manager and external Central Monitoring system

We have a Solution Manager system SOL and a Central Monitoring system
CEN.  The monitored system SDS is configured to report CCMS data to CEN
and I wanted SOL to be able to access this data.  After configuring SDS
to CEN, CEN that the following entry in RZ21:
    SDS#SDS_RZ20_COLLECT#SDS_RZ20_ANALYZE
After performing the wizard in SOL, SOL now has the following entries
    in RZ21:
    SDS2#SM_SDS2CLNT200_READ#SM_SDS2CLNT200_TRUSTED
This would indicate to me that SOL is reading the CCMS information
directly from the monitored system, rather than via CEN.
In the 'Setup System Monitoring' of Solution Manager the Central
Monitoring System and CEN destination are SOL and NONE respectively.
Is this configuration correct, and if not how do I correctly configure
    it?
Is the monitored system now only reporting data to SOL, or is it
reporting to both CEN and SOL?

  • Solution Managers System monitoring and CCMS/CEN

    Hi.
Could anybody enlighten me on the Role of  CCMS / CEN in the Solution manager Monitoring.
I have set up solution manager to Monitor my landscape. I have set up user defined limits and email alerts. These Alerts and the alerting agent - I assume - are carried out on the system being monitored.
Now the question - I want the Solution manager box to be the CEN and do the Alerting centrally (from the SM box)  -  Will the MTE's and Alerts that I have assigned and configured through System Monitoring use the properties set up though the CCMS?
I assume I will have to install the CCMS agents on all the target boxes - Will the Solution manager box process the Statics and send out the alerts from itself? If so How much workload does this place on the network and the box?
Why does the solution manager not act as the central processing and alerting box from the start? If we go through the effort of setting up the monitoring - why does it not set up Collection and Alerting at the same time?
    Any feedback will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Terry H.

    Hi Terry,
Solution Manager System Monitoring is using CCMS infrastructure, so we have two different ways to collect data (alerts) from the satellite systems, first via CCMS agents as you mentioned or the option to use RFC destinations to read the alerts. This can be configured automatically by SMSY in Solution Manager. The second option produces higher network workload, because every alert will be checked every 3 minutes, with agents only new alert values will be pushed.
I hope this info helps you

  • Including all Systems in Solution Monitoring

    Hi,
We have created a solution in DSWP and this is for the ERP landscape, which has four systems DEV, TEST, QAS and PRD. on the solution monitoring tab under system monitoring/administration it only displays the PRD system and the PRD servers.
From the maintenance Optimizer it also only display the PRD system how can this be solved so as to show all the systems in the landscape?

    Hello Trevor,
I'm thinking about the same, but in my opinion you can only monitor PRD systems in Solution Manager.
To monitor DEV, TEST, QAS you can mark this system as PRD in SMSY and add this to your solution as next PRD systems.
I'm think this is not a good idea.

  • Central system administration (CSA) in solution monitoring

    Hello,
I want to configure my solution manager for central system administration (CSA) which is a service provided under solution monitoring of transaction dswp.
I couldnt find any documents for this configuration.
Could you please help me out..
    Regards,
    Gurudath Pai

    Hi Gurudath,
If you have an s-user id, step-by-step tutor files with screenshots are available at
https://service.sap.com/rkt-solman > Solution Manager > Solution Manager 7 > Technology Consultant & System Administrator > System Monitoring, Administration
Before configuring CSA, you have to:
    1. Perform basic settings for Solman (use wizard based approach)
    2. Setup the system landscape
    3. Create solution
    4. Now you can configure CSA
    Revert if you need clarifications

    Hi,
You first need to Setup landscape and create RFCs
