HP LaserJet P3015

I have a P3015 and when it prints from our accounting program, Ajera, it takes a very long time.  A report containing 100 pages could take an hour to print.  The spooling of the information is very slow and it will only spool a few pages at a time.  This is the only program that is affected.  Any suggestions?

Have you upgraded to the latest Firmware? You can find it here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3815801&...
I didn't notice a specific fix listed for the issue, but it's good to have the latest FW. Also if you have one device that works and one that doesn't, it might be good to see if they have the same FW version. This will be listed on the configuration report.
I also found a reference to a change to the duplexer pan design.

  • Hp LaserJet P3015 printer "waiting for printer to become available" message

    Hello All,
I have searched through many message boards about this issue (some steaming back to as far as 2009) and I have yet to find a solution that has worked for me.
    Background of situation:
In my office we have a dozen iMacs and Networked hp LaserJet P3015 printers.  Most work perfectly fine with out issue.  We are currently running 10.8.4 OS.  There are a few issues that seem to be unique to users or types of iMacs.  1) Three brand new iMacs (the skinny ones that come without the CD drives) where showing a message prompting for the "printer operator group".  I have that setting turned off but reguardless I added the user accounts to the "printer operator group" as well as the "printer admin group".  After I did that the users started to recieve the message "waiting for printer to become avaible".  When this message appears it never printers (I left it for a 20 minute period to no avail).  I have tried a whole host of fixes with short term success but the issue keeps reoccuring.  Here is a list of fixes I have tried:
    What I have tried
    1) I plugged the iMac directly into the printer via USB cable to install the drivers locally
    2) I added the user to the printer operator group and the printer admin group
    3) I checked all settings on both the printer and computer
    4) I have removed and re-added the printer several ways (from the network and directly via UBS cable)
    5) I checked the Ethernet connection to the printer (all are fine) (also eliminated the need for it by directly plugging her in via USB cable)
    6) I have "power" shut down the printer
    7) I restarted the printer settings on the network to eliminate any lingering issues
    8) Made sure the software is up to date (which according to some message boards is what the problem is)
    9) I have replaced both the actual Computer and Printer (with another brand new iMac), while additionally creating a new user account to eliminate hardware and faulty user settings as the culprit, as well as plugged the printer directly into the computer and removed it from the network.
    10) I prayed to the IT gods
    Other Notes:
I did see a solution from a message board that said to delete all "hp_" files in system/library/extensions and then directly plug the printer into the computer to install the drivers that way (which he said worked) but the guys also said that if he ran software update then the issue would re-occur.  This seems to be counter productive as I like to keep all software up to date
    What I have noticed:
    - The issue seems to affect the newer iMacs in my office more then the older machines despite everyone running the same OS version
Thank you all so much in adavanced for your time reading my post.  The issue has been extremely frustrating for both me and the end users and I appreaciate any help that anyone can provide (even if its just pointing me in the direction of another message board)
    - Chris

You have not mentioned it but based on some of the things that you have said, I would assume that the Mac's are bound to a domain. So, for one of these Mac's, if you logged on locally and then created a print queue to the network printer, do you get the same message?

  • HP Laserjet p3015 Major Issue

I recently purchased a brand new Laserjet p3015 printer to run our service dept. work order printing. The problem I am having is that the print test page comes out fine, and so will the first actual print from the printer, as long as it is only one page. From there on out, the printer processes the file and then just freezes up and stops loading. It appears to be getting stuck in the printer queue as not all of the print job loads, (e.g. 156kb/356kb). This is the ONLY printer we have for us, and it is not allowing us to do our job. I have tried the driver from the disk, the PCL 5 and 6 universal drivers, all having the same issue. One PC runs on Vista and another on Windows 7, the Vista machine being mine and the one that I have tried all 3 drivers from. Even the HP diagnostic tool gets hung up stating the print queue is stuck. This is very frustrating to have happen as I have tried everything my fairly confident and educated technical mind can think of, and the fact that our business just spent $500 on a printer we cannot use. If anyone has any sort of help, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend.

Having a similar issue with Windows 7 machines.
    PCL XL error
    Subsystem:  KERNEL
    Error:  MissingAttribue
    Operator:  BeginPage
    Position:  3
One user started having problems, so I have deleted and readded the printer, which works for awhile, then stops.  Deleting and readding the printer seems to make it work again.
Another user cannot print at all ... Deleting and re-adding doesn't make a difference.  This user wasn't affected until we updated our print server w/ 38 or so Windows updates.  The print server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (64-bit); some of or users are on XP, some on Win7 (all 32-bit); soon all will be on Win7.

  • Hp LaserJet P3015 randomly miss prints random letters.

    Hi
I wonk as a It technician in a College environment. We have a computer lab with 40 Dell OptiPlex 390's connected via a local area network to a Hp Laser Jet P3015. The students have to use a water mark during exams as a way to identify on witch computers they  wrote the exam. Now on random occasions Radom alphabetical characters are being miss printed for example all the "I's" or "T's" in the document won't simply print. To get the machine to print correctly I have to reboot the pc and printer and this can cause a lot of trouble during the exams. I have tried using different drivers (UPD PCL 6 and UPD PLC 5) but the miss prints still occur. Microsoft office 2010 and 2007 was running parallel on the computers, but I uninstalled 2010 due to the fact that our text books for 2010 will only be available next year. Please can anybody assist me.

The majority of the tools in the PCL Paraphernalia application generate print jobs; the Target menu allows the  user to select the target (network-connected) printer, or to direct the output instead to a file.
However, four of the tools do not interact directly with a printer, and the Target menu is irrelevant for these tools; the PRN File Analyse tool is one of these, and with this tool, the file to be analysed is selected via the Open Print File ... button in the dialogue of that tool.
The Downloads page of the website provides a link to a Windows .chm Help file, which describes the application and each tool.
The TrueType Courier New display font is usually mapped to an equivalent printer-resident scalable Courier font on most LaserJet (and clone) printers - I don't have access to a LaserJet P3015, so I don't know for sure which printer-resident fonts are available - you could find out by printing out a PCL Typeface (Font) List from the printer.
    Your captured mytest.prn file:
Shows that a font selection sequence for the printer-resident Courier font is present, but also downloads 11 different PCL soft fonts - 10 of these are in resolution-specified bitmap font format, the other one is in PCL Encapsulated TrueType (PCLETTO) format - without a lot of additional checking, I don't know which font is used for which bits of text in your print document.
Prints (2 pages), without any apparent problem, on my local LaserJet 1320n printer - there do not appear to be any missing characters, so either you have captured a sample which does not exhibit the fault, or the problem is within your own printer, not the driver-generated print stream.
I can't post the analysis output here, as this (Consumer) forum does not provide file upload facilities; the equivalent Business forum (see http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-and-Digital-Imaging/ct-p/bsc-412 ), which is probably more relevant to your printer model and configuration, does provide this feature.

  • Upgraded to Yosemite now print to HP Laserjet P3015 on the network

Have been using the office HP Laserjet P3015 with my MacBook running Mavericks with no issues.
As soon as I upgraded to Mavericks, cannot print:
First, I tried the existing printer configuration and got nothing as it showed the document stuck in the queue.
Next, tried deleting the printer to add again.  The Mac does not see the printer on the network anymore.  So I tried the IP address method of adding the printer and specifying the IP address of the printer and the exact printer model.
Here, the error message was "Unable to verify the printer on your network.  Unable to connect to <IP address> due to an error.  Would you still like to create the printer?  I clicked Continue and the printer appeared on the printer list.
Again, when printing, the job gets stuck in the queue and says the job is "Printing - The printer is in use"
Note that before trying all of this, I tried resetting the printer system, rebooting, and then installing the latest HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X.

  • HP Laserjet P3015 double sided - the last odd page prints on the same page when printing two copies

HP Laserjet P3015 double sided printing is set up on Windows 7.  When printing two copies of a document, if it has odd number of pages, the last page is printed on both sides of the page. There is no page feed for the last page.
Suppose say there are 3 pages in a document and you want to print two copies. It prints like 1/2, 1/2 and 3/3.  The third page (odd number) print on the same page. The last page page does not print on two pages.
It works alright on Windows XP.

Hope that you have configured the correct paper type and size in the printer hardware and also selecting the same paper tray, size, type from the printer driver while printing.
It may be caused due to the job formatting done by the application software or some jobs settings done from the job/application or printer driver.  Check by toggling the 'collate' option and also try to print from a different application software.

  • HP LaserJet P3015 phantom paper jam?

    Hi,
We just bought two new HP LaserJet P3015 printers in the last month, one works well while the other seems to have a phantom paper jam.  We seem to notice it when someone is printing a longer document, say 10+ pages.  The printers will stop printing, the red light will come on, and the screen will ask to open the top and remove a paper jam.  Once you open the top and close it, and hit OK, it will continue to print.  I have gone through t he machine top and bottom and cannot find a scrap of paper in there.  The other machine that is working well is using the same type of paper, and actually sees a great volume of printing.
We have updated the drives on the computers. Any suggestions?
    Cheers, Paul

  • Wirelessly Connecting HP Laserjet P3015 to Airport Extreme Base Station

Hi, I just purchased a new Airport Extreme Base Station, and was able to establish an internet connection to it.  I'd like to find out if it's possible to connect the HP Laserjet Enterprise P3015 to the Extreme, wirelessly rather than via a USB Cable.  I've looked at the HP page for this printer, but I'm baffled by all the lingo.  I believe it's a newer model of HP printer (or maybe it isn't?) but I bought it new from HP recently.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=S upportFAQ&lang=en&cc=us&docIndexId=64178&taskId=101&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesI d=3815797&printver=true#10
Is there a term for the type of printer that can be wirelessly connected?  Should the printer, by default, give off a signal that I can pick up?  I don't see anything popping up in Airport Utility 6.3
I'm using OS10.7.5 by the way.
I'm off to post a message on the suitable HP forum (if I can find it ) but I'm so used to the Apple Community knowing what's what, that I was hoping that some kind soul here might just have experience with this.
    Thank you.
PS.  From what I can understand from the "Trouble-shooting FAQ," wireless printing is possible, but I just don't see an option for syncing it up with a MAC?  Maybe it only works with Windows?

    wuzradioman
I don't see where the P3015 printer is wifi capable.  Therefor, you cannot use wifi to directly communicate with it.
Thanks for the reply Wuzradioman.  I dug around (several) of HP's sites and it looks like the info was slightly different for the same printer listed on both the Home and Business sites.  I did find a link on a 3rd HP page (which I've since misplaced!) that indicates that the P3015 requires a wireless card to be installed.  But when I clicked the link for "accessories and additional hardware" a link to the card was nowhere to be found.  I'll try to dig up that link in the event that some other poor soul has the same printer and a similar question.
    Vernon Alexander
I find the HP printers (they're called wireless printers by the way) to be cumbersome to connect wirelessly. there's a lot of manual work involved that can be time-consuming. For example, I found it  incredibly irritating to enter the  wireless access passcode.
Thanks for the reply.  After talking to some other people, this seems to be the consensus on wireless printing.  I guess there's a reason, esp. in enterprise environments, that printers are often hard-wired.
    Bob Timmons
you can run an Ethernet cable over a much longer distance than a USB cable, so Ethernet might be the best option, and the one I would prefer.
As far as wireless, If you connected an AirPort Express to the printer and disguised it near the printer, then you could locate the printer anywhere you want and have it connect using wireless to the network.
Instead of installing a wireless "card" inside the printer, you use an outboard device to accomplish the same task.
Thanks Bob.  I did end up hooking up via a Cat-5e cable from printer to Airport Extreme base.  Previously, I had the printer hooked up via USB cable (at a shorter distance) to my Airport Express, which the Extreme now replaces.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the HP Laserjet P3015n printer recognized after having connected it via Cat5e cable to the Airport Extreme.   1) there's still somethign about it being attached to the old Airport Express (which is now used to extend my network.  2) The P3015 is identified as a P3010 - which is a carry-over from when I had originally set up the printer on my (then) main base station which was the Airport Express.  I didn't (or rather "stopped") questioning the fact that the P3015 was recognized as a P3010 just because it was the only way I could get the printer to be recognized at the time.\\
But I suppose this new challenge merits a separate thread, which I'll start after I do a search of the support forums.  Maybe there's something obvious I'm not doing to get the printer sorted out.

  • Connecting HP LaserJet P3015 printer (via Cat5e) to Extreme base

I've configured my network (thanks to the help of this forum):
Airport Extreme Base station (extended by Airport Express).
My laptops (connected wirelessly) run OS10.7.5.  I am using Airport Utility 6.3.1
I am attempting to configure an HP LaserJet P3015n (which apparently is part of the HP3010 series) via ethernet cable.  I've connected the ethernet cable from Airport Extreme to printer.
Previously, I had successfully configured the HP3015n via USB cable when my Airport Express was my "main" base station.
But now I'm unable, since configuring the Airport Extreme as my main base station and the printer via Cat5e cable, to get the HP3015n recognized via Print & Scan in the Sys Prefs or through the printer window (e.g. when you print a doc via MS Word).
I read this Apple Support Doc:  "OS X Mountain Lion: Set up an IP printer" (even though I'm using 10.7.5) to see if I could glean some info.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11478?viewlocale=en_US
    What I've done or noted:
    1) removed the old p3015n listing from that I had configured via USB in case something needs to be reset
    2) selected the 3015n printer (via the + sign) and tried to add software drivers for it.  I select the 3015n printer as the one listed "nearby" printer (and I wonder if that printer is coming up because it was previously configured on my network or if this is a "fresh" "sighting" by my network?  When I do attempt to download software for it, Apple at first reports that the software is avail but after what seems to be an attempted download, that it can't be installed.
    3) I note that the HP printer address (which I gleaned form the printer's LCD screen) is 10.0.1.9
    4) The driver appears to be named 3010 even though the printer is 3015.  Previously I had installed the 3010 driver and that is the name by which the printer has previously been recognized.
    5)  I was able to printer out some pages on the printer via the LCD screen with all kinds of info.  Including an "Embedded Jetdirect page," "Embedded Protocol page," and a "Configuration page."  My understanding from reading a few Apple Support Docs previously is that Jetdirect is among the ways that I can configure the printer.  So maybe that is one way?
Thanks for your time and insights!

Most older HP LaserJets must be assigned a new static IP address any time the router changed. Based on the excellent information in this thread and others, I compiled a complete protocol for doing this and in particular when using a newer (2013) Airport Extreme.  My printer is an HP LaserJet 4050N.
Connect the LaserJet to one of the Airport Extreme's ethernet LAN ports using a Cat5e cable.
    Open the Airport Utility
Click on the Icon of the base station to confirm the LAN IP address (usually 10.0.1.1).
Click the Edit button and then the Internet menu to display the Subnet Mask (usually 255.255.240.0).
    Close by clicking Cancel.
    On the LaserJet
Click the green ‘GO’ button until the display reads ‘Offline’
Click ‘MENU’ 7 times or until ‘EIO 2 JETDIRECT MENU’ shows
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘CFG NETWORK=NO *’ is displayed
Press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘YES’
    Press ‘SELECT’
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘CFG TCP/IP=NO*’ is displayed
Press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘YES’
    Press ‘SELECT’
Press ‘ITEM’ button until ‘BOOTP=NO’ is displayed (or press ‘VALUE’ button until value reads ‘NO’ and then press ‘SELECT’)
    Press ‘ITEM’ button until
‘IP BYTE 1=XXX’ is displayed and where I have put ‘XXX’ using the ‘VALUE’ button enter the first number of the ‘IP’ address displayed in ‘Airport Utility’ (usually 10).
Repeat this procedure for ‘BYTE 2, 3 AND 4’ by using entering a value each time using the ‘VALUE’ button and then pressing ‘SELECT’ before finally moving onto the next ‘IP BYTE’ value using the ‘ITEM’ button.
After all of the ‘IP’ values have been entered pressing the ‘ITEM’ button will display ‘SM BYTE 1=XXX’ – this is the ‘Subnet Mask’ value. Follow the same process as for the ‘IP’ address and enter the values given in the ‘Ethernet’ pane in ‘Network’ under ‘System Preferences’.
After entering the final ‘Subnet Mask (SM)’ value (BYTE 4) press ‘SELECT’ and finally press the green ‘GO’ button.
Open System Preferences and click on "Print & Scan".
Click on the ‘+’ tab on the left of the ‘Printers’ Pane.
    Click on the ‘IP’ tab.
From the drop down 'Protocol' menu select 'Line Printer Daemon'.
In the Address field enter the ‘IP’ values that you entered in the printer except change the last digit (usually 1) to 100 (usually 10.0.1.100).  (The base station can manage more than 100 IP values and this ensures the first 99 other assigned IPs will not conflict.)
In the 'Print Using' menu choose a Driver/Model (if an appropriate one is not set automatically).
    Click ‘Add’.
Close the 'Print & Scan' window.
The Printer name will appear as the IP address you assigned in the 'Printer' pull down menu in the Print window of your applications. Select it to print to that printer.

  • P3015 Missing Print Jobs

I have a laserjet P3015 that randomly stops printing documents from client machines. The only way to resume printing is to log into the printer sever and send a test page.  This allows all clients to resume printing. Unfortunatey problem returns some time later. Has any one seen this issue? Does anyone have a solution?
    More information:
Clients are a mix of winXP Pro, Win7 Ent x86, Win7 Ent x64
Problem only happening with P3015 (There are several printers on these print servers)
Seeing the issue on two different print servers - one is version 2008 and the others is version 2003
Sending a test page from the client computers does not allow others to print
Firmware was updated today (11/14) - problem still exists.
Driver is UPD PCL6 (v5.4) on the 2008 server and UPD PCL 6 (v5.3) for the 2003 server
    Any help is appreciated.

There is a setting in the iRC3200 called Spooler. Using the Remote UI, it is located under Additional Functions > Custom Settings > Network Settings > Use Spooler. Turn this on and restart the machine - you have to for the setting change to take affect. This should help for both of your issues.

i need to print through RDP the documents generated in my application which i access remotely using RDP.
i know the printer drivers are installed on client and server both.
the issue is of creation of custom pages to print the document in proper format so that it prints in the client PC with proper formatting.

I need you advise and assistance as to how do i go about achieving my objective with this printer,
    Thanking you in advance

    Hello JBC666,
I understand that you are having an issue with printing wireless from your M1217nfw. I can understand how frustrating this can be. I would like to confirm a couple of things with you to get better understanding of your setup.
    1) How far away from the printer is the router?
    2) Has there been an recent changes that could have caused the issue?
As well printing a network test report, is an excellent option to find out if there is any issues with the connection at all. I have included the following steps to print the test.
    1) Press the wrench button
    2) Press the right arrow until you see Network Config
    3) Press Ok
    4) Press the right arrow until you see Network Test
    5) Press Ok
    1) Does anything fail on this test?
    2) What is the signal quality?
    3) Are you able to view the printers embedded web server?
Steps to accessing the embedded web server
        1) Open up your internet browser
        2) Type the IP address (from the test report) into the address bar
        3) Press Enter
    Thank you.

  • UPS Maxicode in Adobe Forms - non-zebra printer

    Hey guys,
I have a problem regarding printing an UPS Maxicode on a regular printer (HP Laserjet P3015) in Adobe Forms: It just won't print.
I'm using the "UPS Maxicode" object in the "barcode" library (LCD ES3, Version 10.4). After some research, I found this guide:
UPS maxicode on SAP Adobe forms - Contributor Corner - SCN Wiki
The scripting described there works great for printing the UPS Maxicode on a zebra printer - but the non-zebra printer scripting doesn't work for me.
There isn't much to find about this on google, so I hope you guys can help me. I experimented with printers, device types (i.e. PDF1) and such, but the result remains the same. What else can I try? Am I missing something?
Thanks for your time / help,
    Chris

You can find some information about it in this document:
