Hp S2331A monitor replacement fault.

I've previously had my monitor replaced with a reconditoned monitor already having 675 hours of backlit use.  I have tried calling the uk 0844 369 0369 helpine but the number is unavailable so am unable to get hold of a techinician.  The problems that i am having are that within anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes the screen either flickers and then turns black though the monitor is still on. Or the screen freezes in a very scrambled image and slowly fades to black.  If i remove the lead then replace it the picture then comes back to normal but slowly returns back to its scrambled state.  I have tried another lead and computer but the same problem persists.
Any information would be much apprecitated.
Regards,
Lee.

Since it is a reconditioned monitor I don't think that you have warranty for it.
You can check it here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=4173524&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=uk
But normally you should use the numbers of the replaced one.
That one you have bought and maybe there is still warranty at it.

  • TES 6.1Fault monitor Poll Time issue

Currently we have installed TES Master Version 6.1.0.310, plugin(tes-6.0) - version 6.1.0.301, with a Primary Master, Backup Master and Fault monitor.  However, viewing the Mastert Status and the fault monitor tab, it seems that the "Poll Time" display is stuck in 07/29/2013 on today's display.  I have stopped the primary, backup masters, Also, stopped Fault monitor, removed fault monitor installation, reboot the server, installed the fault monitor software and patched it, and still displaying 07/29/2013 on today's client manager, Master Status, Fault monitor tab.   Have a ticket open with CISCO, but have not received feedback yet. Did anyone have seeing the same issue if you have a Fault tolerance environment on TES 6.1?     thanks!

WE have corrected this situation with the fault monitor for Tidal 6X.  Basically, since we are on the early stages on the project, we have decided to blow away the entire TES 6X environment by removing the installation on the Primary, Backup masters, fault monitor, client manager, and as far as drop the database and remove the Tidal account from the SQL server.  We also cleaned any Tidal folders left over on the windows servers after uninstalled the TES Software and reboot the corresponding windows servers.  Performed and clean out-of-the box installation, by installing the primary master first and check the logs.  Once the master stop as we left empty the demo code field during the installation, then we apply the permanent license and started the primary master.  Proceed to install the fault monitor, backup master and client manager as TES base line 6.1.0.133.  Proceed to stop Client manager, Primary, backups master, fault monitor.  Restart Fault monitor, started primary master, Backup master and Client Manager successfully.  Log into the Client manager and master status pane for the fault monitor was showing the correct date/time as expected.  Subsequently, patch the entire environment to the latest patch for master 6.1.0.310 and plugin(tes-6.0) 6.1.0.301, and TES Client manager and master status pane for the fault monitor was showing the correct date/time as expected once again,

  • P2415Q - No display over DVI, HDMI. No menu. Worked perfectly for one month over display port

Reason Line: Dell P2415Q. After one month working perfectly over display port, no display on screen over Display Port or HDMI, no response to menu buttons, backlight and power LED on but no image on screen.
    Problem Description
The monitor worked out of the box for one month using the display port to mini display port cable provided with the monitor, which was plugged into my XFX 7970 and 7950 graphics cards. It supported 4K at 60Hz and was exceptional for photos, videos and games. On Wednesday the monitor stopped working, no image or menu is displayed on the monitor. I plugged in my old monitor to help diagnose via DVI from the same graphics card. When I press the power button on the Dell P2415Q monitor, the power LED lights up and the computer detects the monitor (as shown in the windows screen resolution menu). It sets it as a secondary display but the monitor remains black, I can see the power LED and backlight is on. No power saving mode popup appears on the monitor, when I press the menu buttons there is no response from the screen, it remains black. I repeated with a HDMI cable the same issue occurs with no response or image. I repeated and disabled crossfire (which allows the graphics cards to function independently) and tried the second graphics card with no response. I tested the HDMI cable I used on my old LG monitor, it works well. I have tried connecting a laptop over HDMI to the monitor too, with no response from the monitor. I have exhausted all the tests I can think of, I presume I will have to return the monitor for repair or replacement under warranty. A question to the dell rep and community - is there anything else I can try / do to get it working?

Computer: Non-Dell, self build about 2 years ago. Ivy Bridge i5, Gigabyte Sniper Motherboard, 16GB RAM, XFX 7970 GPU and XFGX 7950 GPU in crossfire, 256GB SSD, 860W Corsair AX power supply (860W on 12V rails). Windows 7, 64-bit. (Secondary Monitor LG D2342).
Operating System: Windows 7, 64 Bit.
Video Card: XFX 7970 and XFX 7950 in Crossfire (tested separately, monitor produces fault with both).
Video Card Driver: 14.12 AMD Catalyst Driver (rolled back to older driver, monitor still produces fault).
Video Card Output Ports: Tested with miniDP and HDMI on both cards, with crossfire enabled and disabled. Monitor still produces fault.
Video Card Cable: miniDP to DP cable provided with monitor. HDMI cable, tested with alternate monitor to confirm it functions correctly.
Monitor Menu Button: Non responsive, when power is turned on the computer successfully detects the Dell P2415Q monitor, the backlight turns on but no image appear on the screen. Pressing the menu buttons yields no result - menu does not appear on the screen. Power LED is on.
Monitor Purchase: Purchased from Overclockers.co.uk March 2015.

    * Turn the monitor off
    * Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
    * Press the monitor power button in for 15 seconds
    * Reconnect the monitor cables and re-test. If still no go, your only option is to get it exchanged per the purchased warranty
    * But first the service tag must be transferred into your name using this form

  • Color correction for indesign document?

    Hi,
I've made a photo book in indesign but when test printed the yellows are coming out green.
    The problem is consistent throughout.
Is there any way to correct the colour of the entire document?
I have no control over the printer or colour profile used as these are specified by the printing company (Blurb).
My current solution is to recalibrate my monitor and re-colour each picture individually in photoshop, however this strikes me as a laborious solution to a very common problem.
Perhaps my google-fu is weak but in searching for a solution all I find is page after page of people saying how to set up the colour profiles corectly. I know how to set up colour profiles but on this occasion managed to make a mess of it, as have several million other people judging by the number of pages google can find on the subject.
If I had a set of CMYK sliders I could fix the problem in seconds, so the idea of messing with my computer's settings then individually correcting over 100 images seems absolutely insane, yet this is what the wisdom of the internet keeps telling me to do. Surely there's a better way?
If there's nothing in indesign for correcting print colour, can the document be exported and coloured elsewhere?
Thanks in advance for anyone's thoughts on this,
    Ally@Tartan Pixie

    Hi,
Yes I am using the Blurb profile etc. The problem is that I made a balls up of calibrating my monitor - 100% my fault.
What I am trying to find out is whether there's a quicker way of rectifying the mistake than re-calibrating the monitor and then re-colouring each picture indivdually in photoshop?
Is it possible to export the document from indesign, then re-colour the document as a whole and save it in the pdf version 1.3 required by Blurb? If so what software would I use for this?
For reference, I am using indesign CS6 and photoshop elements 9. This is just a stop gap until my new computer arrives and I can use everything from creative cloud and acrobat pro. I point this out because there may be a solution using the full fat photoshop to colour a pdf that's been exported from indesign, but I'm unable to experiment at this time.
    Cheers,
    Ally@TartanPixie

  • Macbook display malfunction

    Hello
Late last week while merely surfing the web, I noticed some flickers on my macbook display. I had never seen those before. I've read about flickers on discussions here. Then over the weekend, I would start the computer only to have the display not light up instantly.
The machine is on, and you'd have to hold the MB certain, slight ways (against a light) to see that it is operating. Sitting the MB certain ways would enable the display to actually light up to its normal brightness.
But Monday the display would not light up at all. Again, the MB is operational, the battery is fully charged. But the display is nearly pitch black. Only squinting at it can you see any tiny, grainy vision of the desktop screen. I've tried, out of curiosity, things like extracting and replacing the battery, but to no avail. Might anyone here have any clue as to what's going on? I expect at the least to take it to an apple store/genius bar later this week. Any help/insight would be appreciated.

Fault messages are provided for handling application errors.
You can create fault message types explicitly for message interfaces in the XI IR. You can use fault messages to handle errors triggered by the called application or persist them for monitoring purposes
    Synchronous Communication (Inbound/Outbound/Abstract):
An error is triggered at the receiver that is providing a service; the error is handled by the sender that called the service.
    Asynchronous Inbound Interface:
Fault messages are not used here to handle an error at the sender. The fault message generated by the triggered error is persisted for monitoring instead.

  • Adobe Lens Profile Creator Crashes with DNG files

Hi, I'm using Win 7 with the latest version of the Adobe Lens Profile Creator, v 1.0.4. It remains a profile created from jpg source, CameraRaw could consider it like a raw lens profile but it has no more value than a jpg profile, I believe...

  • Create OLE DB synthetic that has failover ability if proxy is down much like resource pools

As the title indicates, I would like to create a monitor that is fault tolerant and queries an OLE DB datasource.  Today you can target multiple agents to perform a synthetic transaction using the OOB templates, however I only want a single agent
performing the query at any given time.  If the primary proxy/agent is down, I would like the synthetic transaction to failover to the other proxy node(s).  This behavior is like network or unix/linux devices which use resource pools.

You must create unhosted class or it can be unhosted singleton class (group) and target your monitor on this class.
    Vladimir Zelenov | http://systemcenter4all.wordpress.com
I assume I would then create a rollup monitor so that I don't trigger an alert should one proxy be down or experience a technical issue.

  • Picture corruption - color bar on right side.

My basic setup is as follows.
Running XP Pro and Photoshop CS3 (including Camera Raw plugin 4.4.1)
Run above software with color management profiles for 2 monitors, LG L1710B (1280 x 1024 resolution) and Eizo CE210W (widescreen display) (1680 x 1050 resolution).
Display adapter is Radeon X1600, with Catalyst Control Centre and driver (maintained up-to-date with latest release).
The observed problem exists ONLY when running Photoshop CS3 (although RAW files are accessed also by other software).
Under Photoshop, RAW files may be opened in one of 2 ways.
    A) Opened in Camera Raw through Bridge CS3:
    B) Opened in Camera Raw through Photoshop CS3:
All RAW images opened under Bridge CS3 display perfectly on both monitors.
Images opened under Photoshop CS3 and displayed on the L1710B monitor are satisfactory.
All RAW images opened under Photoshop CS3 and displayed on the Eizo C210W monitor show the fault. Please note this relates ONLY to RAW images - no problem with tif or jpg. Also, when the picture is later saved (as tif or jpg),it does not contain the erroneous color band - the problem appears to be one of diplay only!
To explain the fault: the defect appears as a vertical stripe positioned on the right side of the PICTURE area, of slightly different brightness/color shade to the main part of the displayed picture.
I have referred the problem as fault report to:
    1. AMD re Radeon adapter/driver and Catalyst: they have investigated over a 4 week period, and reply that the problem is elsewhere.
    2. EIZO re Monitor (no separate driver outside of Windows), who say the problem is not monitor related.
    3. Adobe re Photoshop, who relate the matter to AMD as supporters of the display driver.
    4. AMD have (in the past) suggested that it is not a problem for referral to Microsoft!
Therefore STALEMATE! How do I get this resolved?
After long and careful tests I have undertaken, I have a theory on the cause of the problem which goes so:-
I believe the image on the Eizo is properly being color corrected with the color profile applicable for that monitor. However, I believe the size of the color correction mask being applied is being taken from the screen parameters of the L1710B display. This results in a color correction "overlay" area of 1280 x 1024 being imposed on the Eizo screen of 1680 x 1050 - justified from the left edge. This causes a strip on the right edge of (1680-1280) 400 to appear non-color corrected! In actual practice, the position of the left edge of the color stripe does appear 3/4 way across the screen, which supports this postulation! Also, if I vary the color profile, the screen effect (tone wise) does slightly change, causing the stripe to either more or less prominent.
I would personally conclude the matter to be within Photshop CS3. The fact that the RAW module running under Bridge produces NO PROBLEM, while the (same) RAW module running under Photoshop produces the fault suggests to me that the RAW module is being preconditioned in a different way by the respective softwares.
I will be pleased to benefit from thoughts of others - and also to receive ideas as to where I should next direct my fault reports.
While I am at lease able to view/process RAW files through the Bridge route, in an ideal world I should be able to do the same though Photoshop!
    Thanks - Eric

  • Shared variable dialog window

I want to ignore the dialog window or prevent it from coming up when there is an error in my shared variable.  I am reading data from a PLC on a manufacturing machine.  I am doing this on a separate server system and it isn’t monitored, so the fault does nothing but lock the Vi and prevent it from collecting data until someone happens to look at it.
I have a loop that is waiting for the variable to change and the most common error is when the PLC is turned off and there is no data available, however there are others that come up now and again.
I want to simply return to the loop and keep cycling until the data is there and readable again.
Is there a way to prevent the Shared Variable from halting on error?  Can I turn off the dialog box so that it doesn’t stop the Vi?

It is coming from LabVIEW's autmatic error handler.  There is also a VI option that can be changed globally for the VI to ignore the error.  But I don't recommend changing that unless you have accounted for all other errors you could possibly get elsewhere in the VI.  Any node that has an error output not wired to something else will have this dialog box pop up if the VI option is set to automatically handle the errors.
Another alternative is to wire the shared variable error to a tunnel on the loop, but don't do anything with it afterwards.

  • Color shift when exporting to sRGB (mac)

I just noticed the following: when I export an image (shot with my Nikon D80, RAW, developed from within Lightroom 2) as JPEG, 100%, sRGB color space, I get a strange color shift towards red, more saturated colors. Everything looks great when I view my image after export from within Finder or Apple Preview. However, when I drag that same file into the browser (Firefox) or then order prints from a photo service, the heavy red color shift is noticable. I've attached an image for you guys to see what I mean.
What am I doing wrong? Can someone please help?
I'm thinking that it might have to do with my color calibration? (I calibrated my monitor using the Spyder3 Elite device)
Edit: By the way, I just turned off my color calibration (changed display profiles), but that didn't fix the problem. Also, the color shift is not visible in Safari (I guess it is able to handle color profiles and Firefox isn't). But still, the color shift is there if I upload photos to a photo printing service and order prints. So, maybe there's something wrong with the color profile that Lightroom embeds in the JPEG file??

    Problem continues (2)...
...from both Nikon and Canon RAW sources (I use a 5D MkII), but is it an LR3 issue or a Mac issue? Having read all the posts, I'm still struggling, but here's my contribution.
A while ago I noticed that colour files, once uploaded to the net, were way too red and saturated as per image below. Resolutions attempted so far below (all to no avail):
Tested different web browsers; found Firefox and Safari to be similar (to each other), Chrome very much brighter, but none of them are even close to original, so I'm not sure the Firefox loss of colour management mentioned by another contributor explains the issue.
Change web display vehicle; I find the same on my new web site as I did on Jalbum and various others.
Calibrate monitor (of course). Screen to output is 99% perfect on this monitor, when soft proofed with correct ICC profiles, so I very much doubt the wide gamut monitor is at fault. (I do find it hard to agree with the notion of it being the wide gamut screen. The whole point of a wide gamut screen is that it cn show a wider range of colours (e.g. in Adobe 98), and when an image's colour space is reduced (e.g. to sRGB) a wide gamut screen can still show that - especially if it is the same screen that didn't have this problem a year ago...).
Looked at images on a narrow-gamut screen. Same problem.
Changed colour space from Adobe 98 to ProPhoto in LR3 & CS3. Suspected mismatch between LR3 and CS3 because RAW files converted to DNG and edited in LR3, then pixel edited in CS3 and returned to LR3, come back in a different colour. Using ProPhoto has resolved that particular problem, but made no difference to faulty JPG display once on net.
Tested JPG conversion compared to other file formats; match between JPG and original RAW and PSD files perfect, whether displayed in LR3, CS3 or Preview, and whether exported to JPG from LR3, CS3 or Bridge. Problem definitely only occurs once images are on web.
Does anybody know anyone who doesn't have this issue and is using LR3 on a Mac with CS3 and OS 10.5.8?
Any updates or new ideas most welcome.

  • Internet Edge Router and the Firewall

What is the best way to monitor an Internet Edge router from the Internal network behind the Firewall?
We want to pull more information from the edge router like netflow.  We can use SNMPv3 and ACLs to keep the router secure.
But I am looking for the best config to keep both the router and firewall as secure as possible while still allowing us to monitor performance and faults.
I am running an ASA and a 2821.

I'd start with locking down the router configuration if you haven't already. Cisco Configuration Professional (free) offers a nice GUI for analyzing and delivering all the necessary commands to secure the router.
Getting Netflow from your router doesn't add much more than getting it from your ASA.
If you're querying through the firewall to the routers using SNMPv3 (and have deleted the v1/v2 communities) that's one good step. The only other thing I might suggest is sending syslogs to your management system from the router. To do that you'll need to add an access-list and probably a NAT entry to your firewall to allow the incoming syslog traffic.
Most important beyond all the technology is to make sure that your people follow a process to regularly analyze and act upon the information being reported and gathered. Without that all the rest isn't worth the time it take to implement it.

  • Proper removal of disk while degraded RAID

    Hi folks,
I have a XServe G4 with 4 drives, 2 are mirrored to the next ones, so System and Data are mirrored. One of the drives doesn't work any more and the RAID is degraded. What it the proper way of solving this issue?
Server Monitor says that faulting drive is Drive 3 in an Internal Bay 3 but when I remove it, (the third drive from left), the volume unmounts and users doesn't have an access to their data.
When I remove Drive 4 (the first from right side), the volume doesn't unmount, but the whole server freezes. Is it normal?

I was able to pop in the drives, boot off install DVD, and mark them as on-line. The server came right back up.
