HP Touchpad Accidental Warranty Screwage, next step help needed

Greetings,
We bought my touchpad through HP Shopping . ca because my dad has the employee benefits. We got the touchpad on the 5th of July, and had called back 4 times between then and yesterday to try and get accidental damage coverage. HP Shopping . ca had always said everytime we called that it was not available at this time and try back later. Then I found the HP Warranty app and downloaded it. Seeing the price I assumed it was an american app. Well turns out it wasnt and when we called a new number we found on our own yesterday they said to just download it through the app. Well the magical 30 days expired the night before! We called in Palm Support and they said the one guy said there was nothing he can do. Then we emailed support and got a case number. I then recieved an email asking about how the service was, but never was told the outcome! Now its the weekend and apparently HP doesnt work on the weekend.
What should I do?  I dont want the touchpad (or any tablet) if I dont have ADP. I need that in case something happens to it when I am using it for coaching hockey or through work. Should I be demanding to ask for a supervisor? If nothing can work out, what is the return policy on the touchpad?

HP webOS support is open on weekends. I have looked at you record and see your Touchpad device was activated on July 4th 2011, and the option to purchase an ADP plan would have expired 30 days later on the 3rd of August 2011. I also see the only call showing for you at HP webOS support occurred on August 5th 2011 when you were informed that you were out of the 30 day policy period. I am sorry that you though this ADP plan was only for the US; but it covers all of North America.
I can look into this matter for you to see if anything can be done at this point to offer you this plan. If so I will post the reply here as soon as I receive more information, or I will give you a call at your provided phone number. You need to allow 2-3 days for a response.

    We are a K-12 educational institution.  I am currently working at setting up a computer lab with about 16 MacMini computers.
    I'm VERY new to the realm of servers, deployment, using terminal, etc.
    I've done lots of research to make it to where I am, but just can't wrap my head around what needs done next with the Adobe products.
    I am using Server OSX (v3) and DeployStudio (v 1.6.3) to try and manage the computers.
    Both my server and clients are running Mavericks 10.9.
    I deployed my core images successfully and would like to now send Adobe products only the computers I choose since I have limited licenses.
    We have volume licenses of Adobe InDesign CS6 and Photoshop Elements 12 that we would like to deploy.
    I have been referencing the following sites, but just can't seem to wrap my head around the EXACT steps that need to be taken.

    I'm trying to figure out what other companies have done, or what other administrators would do, in this situation:
    You are running SAP Enterprise SR1 extension set 110.  Your company acquires another foreign-language company (in this case French) that will be integrated into your English-speaking SAP system.  You install the language locales on your operating system, importing the new foreign language, supplement to your current support pack versions, and then supplement the language with English into your production client.  Now what? 
    How do you conduct the gap analysis to find out what key screens/tables don't have correct translations or any entry at all?  Is there any programs that do comparisons between screens and tables?
    Is the only way to do a virtual user acceptance testing (UAT) period to run through all core transactions and scenarios in the new language to make sure that no gaps exits between English and the new foreign language?
    We are struggling with the methodology and would appreciate any thoughts/feedback.

  • Log & Capture Sequence of steps help needed

    I wonder if someone could help me find out what I’m doing wrong. I’m trying to accomplish a batch log & capture. As I understand it, I should choose File >Log & Capture. Start the camcorder and mark the In and Out points, Enter the logging information in the fields, then click, “Log,” then continue in this fashion marking the in and out points until completed. Then I click Batch Capture, and the software takes over rewinding the tape. It then moves forward capturing each segment. Something is not working right for me. Sometimes the individual clips appear in the left side column with red lines through them, which I think means the clip is offline. Is my sequence of steps correct?

    Your workflow is essentially correct, difficulties usually result from two problems -
    1) The timecode on the tape is not in continuous, ascending order - example: the timecode resets to a lower timecode number half way through the tape. Now the computer does not know where to correctly find the logged clips.
    AND
    2) The in point you have marked does not allow enough pre-roll time for the tape to cue up, roll and lock video prior to your in point - example: you mark in on the first frames of a video clip that is starting immediately following a blank portion of tape. Now the computer does not have a legitimate video/timecode location to cue up to, to allow pre-roll to your selected in point.

    Use the export and import utility in Discoverer. Go to File -> Export or Import.
    The options that you choose during import are pretty self explanatory. Take a look at this link. It talks about EULs but you will get an idea about the process to be followed as it is the same for reports too.

  • Logic board failiure suspected, next step advice needed

    I've had an iMac for about 6 years now. It's an early 2008 edition running 2.66 ghz intel core 2 duo, 2gb 800 mhz (i don't know how much of that is important, i've just copied down what I had available). I had it for a year when it suffered a hard drive failure which was subsequently replaced (i think, could have been repaired).
    Lately i'd been having a few problems with it. The screen came up with a checkered green pattern which took a safe mode reboot to get rid of. A graphics card failure said the internet, but it only happened once. This probably should have made me take more notice. The mac in general has been... Off it's game so to speak. DVDs wouldn't register and would get spat out, or they would crash the player in the middle of a film. Quicktime would freeze every so often, and it would cause other programs to freeze up as a result. I took a massive amount of files off, deleting them or moving to an external drive. I was getting things tidied up enough to do a backup (which i freely admit I have never done, because i am an idiot) when waking it up from sleep resulted in a plain black screen, nothing else. I shut it down. Turning it on this morning and whilst I can hear the fan and the drive start up, there is no chime and the screen remains black.
    I've tried a PRAM startup and SMC but neither have worked. I don't have an external monitor to try checking anything as suggested on some websites. So I assume I'm looking at a failed logic board. It doesn't look like it's something that can be fixed easily, so my real questions are less of what do I do now, more what are my best options?
    Do I try and get the board fixed or replaced? How much is that going to cost and would the other issues i have had be related to it, or another thing that would need fixing (like the graphics card)?
    I'm still operating on 10.5.8 and i'd need to buy at least one middle OS in order to upgrade to the newest version. Would I be better off buying a new imac? It's a horrible analogy, but do i "buy a new car, or try to get by replacing the engine and parts all the time". My nearest Apple store is smack bang in the middle of the christmas shopping central, so getting there is a bit of trouble right now.
    Depend on the answers I get, i'll have further questions regarding selling/getting rid of an old mac.

    You have a 7 and almost 8 year old machine, unless you can find the parts very inexpensively and you have the expertise to repair it, it likely is not worth taking to an AASP to be repaired.

         — iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), download free MathType 6.7, fully functional for 30 days, then becomes « Lite » for life as good as the Microsoft equation editor ; it’s better than using Grapher’s equation editor (Applications > Utilities) because MathType can be called from Pages and allows editing equations by clicking the math expressions your text (details on MathType website) .
         — Graph.app 2.3 in Mountain Lion is built to draw curves and surfaces from equations, so it uses an equation editor less powerful than mathType, but it’s easier typing expressions.     Bell's next step was for me to connect to iTunes. I downloaded iTunes and can't figure out how to proceed from there. The basic info in the Apple site for "unlocking" only addresses a SIM card that doesn't work. My SIM card is correct. How do I go on from here? Thanks,

    Bell should have given you instructions, but in case they did not here is what you do:
    Put a Bell SIM in the phone. It does not have to be a currently active SIM, but it must have worked on Bell at some time in the past.
    Connect the phone to your computer with the USB cable.
    It should appear in iTunes. Click on its name.
    Click the Backup button.
    Click the Restore iPhone button. When prompted to restore the backup choose that option.
    The phone will reload iOS. If your current iOS version is not 7.0.4 it will update to this first. If that happens when the update finishes click Restore iPhone again.
    If the process succeeds you should see the message: "Congratulations. Your iPhone is unlocked". If you don't get this message wait a couple of days and repeat the whole process again.
    Note: to unlock the phone you do not have to Restore as New. Restoring and reloading the backup will work also.
