HR Organisation UNIT hierarchy
Hi guys,
I have an Organisation Number , and I need a function which gives me all the organisations it belongs to in the Organisation structure, i.e the upward hierarchy ( Organisation Number ) as well as the downward hierarchy ( Organisation Number ).
Kindly provide me with an FM or a sample code on how do i go about this.

Hi Frank,
Please try this Function Module GET_ORG_UNITS.
U can also find some more Function modules in SE37 Transaction code.
Goto SE37 and give GETORGUNIT in input field and click on F4 function key, u will get the function modules related to the Organizational Unit

Impact of moving a user from one organisational unit to another.

my system description :
extended classic
srm 5.00
I am new to srm and i would have some questions about the impact of moving a user from one organisational unit to another.
The senario is that:
I have moved a user from organisational unit X to Y lets say different purchasing organisation
The user had PO created in organisational unit X waiting for goods receipt but even if he is now in organisational unit Y he can still create the good receipt for the PO created in organisational unit X .
Is it ok?
Futhermore not only can he create good receipt but the good receipt take the cost center assigned in organisational unit Y whereas the PO has the cost center of organisation X.
I believe that is how the confirmation works in SRM. However is there a way for it to take account assignment from the PO instead of where the user is situated in the org hierarchy when doing confirmation.

Maybe i should explain how the user was moved.
I did not used users_gen because i didn't want the user's partner ID to be changed. If the partner ID is changed then the user would not be able to access PO from old Organisation Unit. (can somebody confirm this please)
I did right click on the wanted Organisation Unit then assign the user. The problem is that the relationship between the user partner ID and the new organisation unit was not maintained and the user could not create shopping cart in the new organisation unit.
To solve this issue oss note 1041701 was implemented and the issue was solved.
But before the the implementation of oss note 1041701, if the user had open items from old organisational unit he could not access PO thus could not confirm goods receipt when moved in new organisation unit.
Now this is possible he can confirm goods from old unit but the confirmation is done using cost centre of user instead of the cost centre of the PO.
Jagadish you said that the confirmation must be done using PO accounting details not the user attributes. Then i think i have a problem in my system.

Error While Opening dataform after creating Planning Unit Hierarchy
Hi All,
I created a Planning Application through classic wizard. Then i created a planning unit hierarchy, after which I am getting the following error: (when i try to open a dataform, from some user other than admin/owner)
*"Security and/or filtering has resulted in a required dimension not being represented on this data form"*
I know that this error occurs when some dimension members are represented on dataform but are not assigned with security rights. But thats not the problem in my case. Because I assign security rights to all members of all dimension just for the sake of testing. I later on identifed that this error occurs due to dimensions present in POV i.e. I need to select a single member of each POV dimensions, then in such case this error disappears.
Now my question is that why i need to select a single member from each POV dimension? I general i leave POV dimensions as it is, while creating dataform
Right now i aad a dummy member at the top of each dimension, e.g Account_UnSpecified, Entity_UnSpecified and so on . . . and then i select this member from each of POV dimension.Hi,
You can try creating new Root folder and new workspace for your NWDS.
1. Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_ROOT ' in your machine
2. Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_WORKSPACE ' in your machine
3. Open NWDS (and logon to DTR)
4. Remove all configurations from your Development Configuration perspective (except 'Local Development')
5. Go to Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infra --> Development Configurations
6. Change 'Root Folder' to the folder created in step-1
7. Close NWDS
8. Create ' Run_NWDS.bat ' file in your NWDS installation folder which has 'SapIde.exe' file
(it will be generally in --> C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse)
9. Type following in .bat file -->
SapIde.exe -data "<complete path to folder created in step-2>"
10. Now double click on this .bat file to open NWDS
Now logon to DTR, import configuration, create project from 'inactive DCs' and you should be able to create project and see it in respective perspective.

Hello Friends,
We have an issue with displaying HR Org unit hierarchy structure between two calendar months.
The BI Report has a selection parameter to select Org unit hierarchy , Calendar month From and Calendar month To
The BI Report is to display the no.of sick absence days for employees in a chosen Org unit hier.
Employee A had a sick absence of 5 days in the month 04.2011 in the Org unit X . The same employee had a sick absence of 4 days in 05.2011.The Org unit X then delimit in 05.2011 , the Org unit X is no longer in Org structure from 05.2011.
When we run the report for 04.2011 to 04.2011 , the employee A is showing absence under Correct Org unit ie X with correct Org structure .
When we run the Report for 05.2011 to 05.2011 , the employee A is showing absence under hierarchy Org unit Not assigned which is OK .
But the issue is when we run the Report from 04.2011 to 05.2011 , The employee A absence days 9 (5 +4 ) showing under Not assigned Org unit hierarchy structure which is the latest Org unit .
When I deactivate the Org unit hierarchy and choose tech name of Org unit , It is showing correct Org unit key
But The user would like to see 5 days under org unit X and 4 days under Not assigned with Correct Org unit hier structure when we run the Report from 04.2011 to 05..2011 .
We have a user Exit variable for the Key date in the Bex Report which seems to be taking only one date at any time .
Is there any way to get the correct figures under Org unit hier structure where employee had absence in when we put range of calendar months on a selection screen ?
Any advice appreciated.

Yes, we can display the same by using time dependent hierachy's i.e. your org is converted to time dependent so that respective employee shows with respective of time.

You can try adding two more attributes to Org Unit as "Calender month from" and "Calender month to".
In these attributes maintain the validity period for the corresponding master data.
For example, in your case you can maintain the master data as:
Employee | Org Unit | Calender month from |Calender month to | sick absence
A | X | 4.2011| 4.2011 | 5 days
A | | 5.2011 | 05.2011 | 4 days
And in report use variables for Calender month from" and "Calender month to".
Hence, when user executes the report with selection as:
Calender month from" = 04.2011
"Calender month to" = 05.2011
The data will be read from master data based on these selections along with key date and report will show output as expected.
Employee | Org Unit | Calender month from |Calender month to | sick absence
A | X | 4.2011| 4.2011 | 5 days
A | | 5.2011 | 05.2011 | 4 days

I am making use of FM 'SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_RECIPIENTS' with input as workitem id and user name. I am getting the organisational unit, but the problem is it gives only the number of the organisational unit.
Is there any FM which after giving the organisational unit number will give me the description/short text for the organisational unit.
Report 'RHSHOWOR' gives the description, but it takes the user name only and shows all the org unit specified for the user, I want the description for a single org unit.
Relevant answers will be rewarded.

User In Planning unit Hierarchy unable to see data form in editable mode

we are facing a problem in planning unit hierarchy in Hyperion planning, where we have 4 users, Hierarchy is define as
hierarchy: budget approved
version: approved
Entity: Finance
Senario:Budget
haroon asghar ( owner)
adeel javid (Reviewer)
Naeem asghar (Reviewer)
Imtiaz (Reviewer)
Issue is that,after start the budget activity (promotional path) by Admin, the data form editable to Owner haroon asghar
but after completing his work by haroon,when he promote the planning unit ,the next user in Hierarchy "Adeel javid" unable to see data form in respective planning unit in uneditable data form not only for this user but all rest of the users as well,while i think data form should only uneditable(grayed) for user Haroon Asghar who promote the planning unit.
we have checked all security rights to the users those are "Write access" but still Adeel javid is unable to enter data,so the budget activity is stop due to this problem.
when i remove the planning unit then i log in with all user one by one and see all data form required version,scenario and entity were editable to all users mention above
we want to run budget activity with the above planning unit hierarchy.
plz any one provide the proposed solution of the said issue

AnwarReviewers will not be able to write data to the intersection. Reviewers can only review the data and follow-up with a Reject, Promote, Sign off, Delegate, Originate or Freeze.

Organizational Unit Hierarchy in Universe
Hi expert,
I created a Universe from a query, in a query I have this Organizational Unit Hierarchy in the row column. In the Universe, I can see the Hierarchy name here but there is not L00 shown in the hierarchy and the level is starting from L01 to L07. After the Universe is created here, I created the report using Web Intelligence, when I add this L01 hierarchy in the report, I cannot see any data.
Does anyone here know why? I am new to this Universe and Web Intelligience.

When you generate a universe from a BEX query, you have to specify whether or not you want to generate a level 0 or not.
If you do not have the L00, you didn't op to do so. You can do this in a refresh structure or with a fresh generate (in the latter case, check your defaults).
Now L00 will be the "all" level. So that may not be your problem.
Did you select at least a key figure in your webI query?
Test what results you get for certain selections when you run the BEX query directly.
Then using the same conditions, you should get the same results in WebI.

In bex Query Designer I want to restric that infoobject & organisation unit which is starting with 'D' .
means output will be : D_983 ,

ABAP statement for this ORGUNIT LIKE 'D%' .
how we do same in BI restriction .

Explode document distribution list / organisational unit
I have configured document distribution. I am able to send mails through document distribution. However, I want to send mail to a group of users. Hence I have created an organisational unit with different positions and I have captured the e-mail addresses of the users in the respective positions. However when I capture the organisational unit as a recipient the following error message appears " Orginizational unit/distribution list <Scroll Approver> contains no
recipients". Also I am not able to explode the organisatinal unit.

Organizing dimensions for organisational units
Hi Gurus,
I discovered that in one development project, one star schema with its dimensions has a dimension "organisational units".
In this dimension are all units put together and those units are also in the InfoCube.
That means in one dimension is available:
Company code
Credit control area
Customer number
Profit Center
Business unit
Business segment
Sales organisation
Sales division
Distribution channel
Does this make sense?
I mean will the system allow to make correct selections/drill downs etc. with those adjustments?
As the development is still in progess I would make a suggestion to partition the dimension "organisational units" into following dimensions:
Company code
Credit control area
Company code
Customer
Customer number
Profit Center
Profit center
Business segment
Business unit
Sales organisation
Sales organisation
Distribution channel
Sales division
I think this would make more sense ...

I am really new to BW and my subject is more at report level i.e. creating queries.
Currently I am learning more about modeling and so on to get a better technical understanding.
For my understanding and respective to the four dimensions above (when they are separated) and for example key figure turn over is available.
With this scenario it would be possible to analyze the turn over in relation to for example:
customer, business unit and sales division.
But what is the difference when the dimension customer is separated and the other three are clubbed together?
Isn't the same mentioned analysis possible?
It should be possible to achieve the same result I think because only the granularity of the clubbed dimensions would be more granular and the dimension would be bigger.
Does my understanding make sense?

When I unchecked the Head of Own Organisation Unit field for existing Manager under Basic Data, still I can see the Red Cap as Icon for the same Manager. Please let me know the reason and how to fix the same.

1. Re-check in PPOMA_BBP will see existing manager as uncapped.
2. Check your org structure using tcode USERS_GEN.
3. Delete mentioned manager & add it again as normal employee.
