Any Macbook made after 2007 can be upgraded to the latest OS. 10.8
If you have the 2006 model (identifier is MacBook 1,1) it can only be upgraded to 10.6.8
1 To update to the latest, first you have to get to 10.6 by buying a retail DVD by over the phone to an Apple Store.
2. Install 10.6 and software update to 10.6.8
3. online at the App Store, purchase 10.8

I have an early 2008 iMac 8.1 Intel Core Duo 2.8GHZ 320GB Hard Drive.
I'm currently running 10.5.8 — could you advise the most advanced OS it can handle?

You should be able to run the latest Mountain Lion - make sure to up your RAM (ML is a bit of a memory hog). -
For unknown reasons iTunes will no longer open. I have an HP laptop running windows 7 with Kaspersky protection. It worked fine before but now won't open. I tried downloading the most recent up-date and it will still not open. Any suggestions?

Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

Add On...This NVIDIA GeForce situation is specific for Premiere Elements 10. You should not expect to see the problem for
later versions of Premiere Elements. -
What if my ipod touch 4th generation can't update and now the only option is to restore it.
And i don't know what happens if i press restore?
Will it show my back up and back it up or what?
And if that does happen will all my pictures stil be there?

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

iOS 7 devices need iTunes 11.1 or newer to sync. Depending upon your computer and the OS it is running, you may not be able to upgrade to iTunes 11.1 based on the requirements for iTunes 11.1. I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen? It says I need to have flash 7 or higher. I have the most update flash available according to my browsers.
If you are using Flash Pro CC 2014, please update Extension Manager CC to 7.2.1. Then please confirm whether Flash is shown in the product panel of Extension Manager CC. If not, please refer to Re: Why can't I see InDesign CC in my Extension Manager CC.

Wanted to sync up my new IPhone4, and thought that I should make sure I had the most up to date version of ITunes on my desktop first. Tried to get on site, and got an error message saying; "The folder ITunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." Cannot get on ITunes at all now. Help! Thx.
In my case its a new computer the old one was stolen and the time machine disk did not work for a restore but did for copying the info to the new mac

I have a 3rd gen iPod touch and I downloaded the most recent itunes, ever since I did, only the first song syncs to the ipod. As soon as it gets to the second, it still says its syncing. However, nothing happens. How do I fix this? I have restored and updated the ipod. I have the new iTunes. I have restarted my computer checked the connection and everything.
Try:

I have a new iPhone 5s. When I try to sync it with my iTunes account it is unable and advises to update iTunes to version 11.1. Whn I attempted this iTunes advised that the current version I have (10.6.3) is the most up to date!
If you're on a Mac, you need to upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.3 and then 10.6.8, which requires that it has an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.

I was getting this error on an older windows xp pro machine and now it is appearing on a brand new windows 7 professional machine. I have confirmed the most up to date version of Java.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window. -

I guess you could try but I don't believe Apple can help with activation lock issues. They may, however, be able to determine if the Apple ID belongs to one of you and reset the password for you if you can prove your identity.
You might want to try calling Apple by going to https://expresslane.apple.com; click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. Perhaps they can help determine if it's your ID and reset the password for you (and they probably have more expertise in doing this than the Apple store).
