HT1390 I rented a movie to my computer; it no longer plays (hasn't been 24 hours)

I rented a movie to my Macbook Air, the device shouldn't matter, and started watching it last night and a couple minutes today. Now when I get back to the movie it will not play. I have not exceeded the 24 hour period to watch the movie and there are no other devices connected to rental. I'm able to rent the movie again but don't feel like I should since I have nearly 6 hours before I've hit my 24 hour limit.

I see it was purchased on my computer in my account and the charges for it and can even see where it is on my iPad on the computer but can't find it on the iPad itself. It is not in Videos. I have this problem every time I rent movies and somehow I eventually find it but I don't know how it eventually gets on the iPad. I'm leaving on a trip and want to watch it on the way.

Rented a movie on itunes, but it won't play or transfer, why?

I rented a movie on itunes, but when trying to play it the computer prompts me "itunes has stopped working" and then crashes. Then when trying to transfer the rental, thinking it was possibly a computer issue, itunes then notifies me that it cannot transfer because my computer has not been authorized to play the movie. The rental movie was not only purchased and downloaded on an authorized computer, I also attempted to humor it and authorize it again, yet it remains in the same condition after several tries.
I was attempting to transfer it to an iphone 4s, but if there is a possibility of playing it on a computer it would be prefered. My operating system is Windows 7, if that helps.

I've seen this when downloaded to a computer/device that wasn't authorized. Try to re-authorize in case it (or someone else) became de-authorized again.

For the film not playing, you can use the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
Not sure whether you can request a refund for the double charge via the same link, if not then you can contact iTunes support here : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Express Lane, then iTunes > iTunes Store

if u unplug then that could put ur device into recovery mode. i would wait

It should be in the video app. Or go to the leftmost home screen, called spotlight, and type if the first part of the title. If it is there, it will show up.

Something like this happened to me, where something went wrong on Apple's end and a movie I rented wouldn't play. I contacted Apple over the phone and they gave me back my money and fixed the problem for future use.

Have you tried a reboot?
What is your connection speed via speedtest.net?
Check istumbler or netstumbler to see about network interference
Make sure DNS is set correctly (settings - general - network - configure DNS - automatic)
