I see it was purchased on my computer in my account and the charges for it and can even see where it is on my iPad on the computer but can't find it on the iPad itself. It is not in Videos. I have this problem every time I rent movies and somehow I eventually find it but I don't know how it eventually gets on the iPad. I'm leaving on a trip and want to watch it on the way.

You might want to try it again. It started working for me about 10 minutes ago (~8pm CST).
This was happening for rentals and purchases.

A movie rented on an iPhone can only be viewed on an iPhone. If you want to view on TV you need to rent directly on ATV or via computer (and stream using home-sharing)

The EXACT same thing happened to me last night! Rented a movie; it had barely started and then froze. When I touch the video app icon, all I get is a blank, dimly lit screen. None of the other videos I own will display either. Was your problem ever resolved?

I kept having this problem, reset my iTunes password, verified account information several times, all with the same (bad) result. Finally, I actually went into the "Edit" section of my credit card and found that because I tried to access my account via another computer or device, i.e. Apple TV, I had to reenter my 3 digit credit card security code. What did you download it on ? If a computer's iTunes then do you have a 'rentals' tab in the Movies part of your library ? If on an iOS device then it should be in the Videos app (if it's not showing there then have you got a film age rating set in Restrictions that is hiding it ?).

Can someone please let me know how I can download a rented movie to my ipad again. It appears it failed to download to my ipad, when I attempt to watch it states to download it again. That feature is not on my ipad. The download area only shows up when an item is downloading.

i rented a movie and now it will not let me clcik on my tab for rent on itune to get to it to watch it it has finished downloading and it took my $ for the download i tryed reseting my computer as well and i still can not get to my move

OK, so when you are in iTunes, you should see Movies on the sidebar, right under Music. Once you click on that, you should see "Rented, Unwatched, Movies, Genres, Home Videos, and List" at the top of the window. Click on the Rented tab, and you should see your movie. Click on the movie, and it should then display a Summary window below it with the description of the movie:
Right next to the title in the Summary box, you will see an arrow. If you click on that, you should get a message asking if you want to start playing your movie now:
Click on Play and enjoy!
