  • My iPad screen is black and voice over is activated but nothing happened to cause this?

I Used my iPad and then shut it off and set it in its normal spot. I didn't drop it, nothing spilled on it, absolutely nothing happened to have caused this. I did however download a bunch of new aps right before this. I went for a drive with it in car so it wasn't connected to wifi for this trip then when I got home it would have automatically connected to my wifi. what could have caused this? It's strange that it talks to me when I touch screen but it doesn't make sense what it says and it's 2nd gen so no SIRI

You will probably have to contact Apple for repair but before you do try this:
Turn your iPad upside down on your lap and give it a hard smack on the back.

    Hey BlueEyedDude,
Thanks for the question. I’m sorry to hear about your iPod nano! If you believe you have isolated the issue completely to hardware, you can learn more about servicing your device at the following link:
Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
If you’d like to attempt some more troubleshooting tips, see this link:

If you do decide to service your device, you’ll want to make sure all of the music and information is backed up. If you regularly sync your device with a computer, this music should be on the computer. If not, you can learn about what purchases you can transfer from the iPod to a computer:

When I restart it seems okay and I see my main screen, but only for a second and then it goes black again.

I have a 5 month old  iMac running Lion and W7 with the latest version of boot camp . It has been operating flawlessly until I went to reboot into Mac tonight. Screen went black, and system is unresponsive. I've tried force quitting and turning power off. Hard drive starts, there's a small amount of drive activity and that's it.

Hi Jane, your info may still be there, look in the Users folder at root of the drive, how many users are there there?
It sounds like this may have happened...
Return to default desktop, apparent "loss" of home directory, (it can happen spontaneously too)...

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up.

Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up. Restored multiple times and didn't work. Ipod works with Itunes fine (can put music and podcasts on the ipod), but can't take songs off of the ipod. Using windows xp and everything is up to date. Any ideas of how to fix it?

I didn't know that it was posted three times. My computer didn't say that it posted anything.
My ipod still syncs to itunes and I can put podcasts and music on my ipod, but I can't delete songs after I put them on the ipod. When I try to delete songs I try to delete it from the main music list on the ipod. It's also doing all the other stuff that I posted before. The screen will go black and then the power off slider thing shows up for a few seconds, then it'll show the unlock slider bar. Then goes black again. It will also do that when I have the ipod unocked and changing songs or playing a game. I've restored it to the factory default/new ipod and it still does the same thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and then restored it again to the factory default and it's still doing the same exact thing. I checked and my computer is up to date.

  • My iphone 5 screen went black and the only thing that works is siri!

I was in the middle of opening up pintrest when my phone screen went black and won't turn back on. The only thing that works is siri... My lock button also doesn't work so I can't manually restart my phone. When I try to restore my phone i have to turn off find my phone but i cant because the screen is black.. Please please please help! I'm a poor college student who cannot afford a new phone

Well, you can't perform a reset then. What happens when you plug the phone into a power source? If nothing, then you'll have to make an appointment at any Apple store. The genius bar will offer you an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $269.

  • My ipad air2 screen is black and won't come on. I can hear siri but she says she cant work right now. What do I do?

My ipad air2 screen is black and won't come on. I can hear siri but she says she cant work right now. What do I do?

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • My iPhone screen went black and won't turn back on.

Yesterday, my iPhone 4S screen went black and won't turn back on. So I tried just letting charge but after an hour nothing happened, so then I switched out the chargers and made sure the outlet I was using worked. But it still was black. Then I did a little research and I tried to put it into DFU mode but my power button has been broken for a few months now, so that didn;t work either. Then I tried restoring it, but my computer didn't recognize it!!! So then over night I let it rest with no power source connected to it. This morning I plugged it back into a power source and it showed the charging icon. I'm pretty that means it's still running, but I'm not an expert. PLEASE HELP!

If you have got a different USB Sync cable try to charge your iPhone with that as there are possibilities that your current USB cable or Power Adapter is not Charging your iPhone. If it still doesn't work make an appointment to Nearest Apple Genius Bar
