I gifted an album to someone who already bought the same album. How can I recall the gift and exchange it for an album he does not have?

There is no such capability. You can contact the iTunes Store:

and explain the situation and ask if there's anything they can do for you. They may be able to grant an exception, though it's not guaranteed since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. If they can't help then all you can do is redirect the gift to someone else:

You get two copies of the album. You can't use the gift code to get a different album. You get what the purchaser chose for you.

That will depend on the kind of album your photo is in.

When you edit your photo, the edited copy is added to the automatic "edited" album and the view switches to he edited album. But the photo should stay in its original album - do you see something different? Only if you want the edited photo in the camera roll and the photo strea as well, you have to save the edited copy to the camera roll again after editing, otherwise the camera roll will show the original and not the edted version.

With a brick & mortar music store, if one were to buy an album for someone and they already owned it, it could generally be returned in its package and store credit could be issued for an alternative selection.
If I were to "gift" some music for someone on the iTunes Store, is the same courtesy offered? Sadly,I fear not

All we can do is guess why Apple does not allow this. It may be that Apple pays the content owner at the time you purchase the gift, and so can't substitute for something else. Or it may be that Apple can't justify the expense of a mechanism for allowing an exchange for an item they only make a few cents on. Or some combination of factors such as these.

You will be charged for the entire album. The Gifting feature is not recipient-specific, so it would have no way to know that a particular recipient you might be sending to would already have the album. Why not just gift the songs you know your friend doesn't have?

First, have the recipient check any anti-spam filters that may be present on her email account or in any email application to make sure that messages from Apple aren't being blocked. If she is sure that is not the case, go here:

Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Storage already has a dependency defined for Mircosoft.Data.OData

I'm using VS2010 with .net 4.0 and have an asp.net mvc project that contains both a web role and worker role for the azure platform.
I'm trying to update my Azure.Storage package and get the following ..
I've noticed when I look at references in my project and look at the Storage it says it's vers 4.3.0.0. When I look in my packages.config (for both web and worker) it has..
I can't find any reference to OData.
When I've tried to install or update OData via he package management console it comes up with the same message of "...Storage already has a dependency defined for Microsoft.Data.OData".
I've looked around and couldn't find a posting with the same error and also this is the first time I've tried updating packages so I'm unclear on the overall process.
I have some code in my web role that apparently needs to reference the latest Storage package.

I'm failing at Step #1 here :)
Trying uninstall using NuGet PM - the package doesn't appear.
I have a web role (the one I'm trying to update) and a worker role.
OData doesn't appear in uninstall PM or in the References.
So I looked at the worker role. OData also doesn't appear in the uninstalll PM but DOES appear in the Referrences.
Could there be some conflict between these two roles and references and packages etc?
Anyway, I then decided to try and uninstall OData using the PMC. I tried both roles and got the following..

Never rely upon the iTunes Store to always have your purchases. Always keep a copy of everything safe on a backup drive at home.

I finally stumbled across a fix for this problem, and in case someone else is frustrated at some point by a similar issue I'm posting what finally worked to enable me to bring iTunes up at any time (without rebooting first).
The solution was to go to the preferences to uncheck "search for shared libraries".
I'm glad the problem is fixed, but Apple developers really should include a timeout function on iTunes search for a shared libraries. At least a visual dialog to confirm that the application is in the process of searching for a shared library on the network would help provide clues as to what is causing the spinning beach ball to appear right about the time the application window should pop up.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have been through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for investigation.

I have an iphone 4 - I havent updated the ios software since version 5 I think. If I back up my phone and when the new 5S comes out I restore it onto that will it mess up my contacts, messages, apps etc? Or is there an easier way to transfer the settings and everything as it is on my current phone to the new 5S? Since its a nee OS I wondered whether the apps may end up in different folders etc.
