I have never had an iPhone before and I want to make sure I can share my music correctly without erasing anything.
If you want to have the music and apps in your iPhone, i suggest setting up from backup.
You can also always manually install them back even if you do a set up as new. -
I had entered a custom home builders company page, which wouldn't load properly, but made a bunch of changes to my registry. I successfully ran CCleaner to clean up the registry, but when I loaded FF the site that caused me problems was now my new home page. I opened Options to reset home page to what it was before. That operation succeeded, but now every time I run FF, Options opens up spontaneously in a new tab.

When you saw this dialog box, did you choose "Erase and Sync"?
If you did, your iPhone was erased, then your iTunes Library was transferred to it. If your iTunes Library was empty, your iPhone will be also.
Your previously purchased music, apps, books, and videos are still yours. You just have to download them again.

Hello! Just connected a used iPhone to iTunes for the first time. I'm trying to restore it to factory settings/default. The phone is connected via Wi-Fi and is updated to the most recent OS that the phone allows. The computer is also connected to the internet. But I still get the error: "itunes could not contact the iphone software update server because you are not connected to the internet." I also connected via iTunes and authorized the computer, but still have the same issue. Really, all I need to do is completely wipe the phone and start from scratch for safety's sake.

When I connected it to itunes for the first time to activate it iTunes asked me to enter the password for an account that the iPhone is locked to like if the device was used before what shall I do? PLease reply soonI can't do that because the device was purchased from United Arab Emirates and I got it as a gift in Syria but the problem is that there is not even a single apple store in Syria so is there another way to fix that, I googled it and was told to jailbreak the device whitch I did and than hacktivated it but the problem is the device doesn't connect to any network and only shows "no service" and the battery draining too fast so is there any other way to fix this issue

I am really bad with technology...When you first sync with a new iTunes library iTunes will delete any iTunes media from your phone and replace it with the media in the library being synced with. iTunes media includes things like apps, music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, books, custom ringtones and photos synced to your phone from a computer. If you are also syncing your contacts and calendars with your computer it will replace the ones on your phone with those on your computer. If your iTunes library, contacts, calendars and iPhoto are all empty, you will end up with all of these being empty on your phone.
To preserve these you need to follow the steps in the linked article. This will transfer purchased media from your phone to your iTunes library and transfer contacts and calendar entries to your Mac. As discussed in the guide, it will not transfer music not purchased from the iTunes store (which can only be done using 3rd party software such as the ones discussed) or photos synced to your phone from another computer (which can be transferred to your computer using an app like PhotoSync). These will need to done first or you will lose them, as discussed in the guide. -
tried synching iphone for the first time on new PC and got error followed by itunes logo and USB cable picture. No idea what went wrong and now phone is in this screen locked. please help!
I tried connecting to iTunes and neither the PC nor iTunes recognizes the device. I went through all the troubleshooting on the Apple website for this issue and nothing worked. I would hate to have lost all my info, especially contacts and calendar items since I have no idea what was backed up prior to the phone getting locked on this screen. I've been told that my only option is to go to the phone carrier and they will reset it for me, but that means it will wipe out all the info.
I hope someone has a fix other than that one. -

If you want it to go back to essentially Out of Box Factory Settings then you will want to just select the 'Restore' option from the Summary Screen within iTunes. You will be prompted to Restore from Backup or Restore as New, in this case you will want to restore as new.
If you have previous settings you will need to see if they were backed up correctly before syncing, you can check this in Preferences -> Devices -> Backups and look at the list of backups to see if one coincides with your iPhone 4. If not, then there will be no settings to restore to other than the previously connected iPhone or back to Factory settings. -
My Iphone 4 just updated to the iOS6. I've connected it to my computer for the first time since then, and wanted to back up my photos in iPhoto. However, although Iphoto recognized my phone, it shows no photos to upload or backup. It lists my phone in the "devices" category on the left bar, but no longer shows any of my photos.

Are you trying to basically start over, as if you just took your iPhone out of the box? If so, do:

I connected my iphone 4s to my macpro for the first time to add some musci, I didn't touch the apps folder.
But after ejecting, I can't open any of the apps I downloaded. When I press on them, they just shake but nothing opens!You shouldn't. Downloading the app re-authenticated the iTunes account on your phone. This happens to people from time to time (not sure why) but making you are logged into the Apple store in iTunes with your Apple ID prior to syncing might help.

Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced - and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
If you want to remove all of the Photos - uncheck the Sync Photos from Heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
