HT1726 i have heard that charging less than 80 percent will make the battery lasts longer, does anybody have any idea about that?
hi,
i have heard that charging less than 80 percent will make the battery lasts longer, does anybody have any idea about that to help me?
I don't know where you heard that statement but it's completely incorrect.
According to Apple:
Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge.

Should I let the battery run down before charging my iPad or iPhone or iPod Nano to help the battery last longer? I took a class at Verizon and they said let it drain completely and it would last longer. Thanks
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Can you turn off apps that you've opened so the battery lasts longer?
With the new upgrade to 7.0.2 can you turn off apps you've opened so the battery lasts longer?
Two things:
In iOS 7 to close apps now you double click the Home button, then slide up on the cards for the apps you'd like to close.
Next, to actually deal with the battery use issue and open apps, you can go to Settings>General>Background App Refresh and turn off the apps you don't care to have working behind the scenes. -

I just received a new macbook pro. I am looking for a usb3 external storage 500 GB drive. Some manufacturers of drives aren't for sure their drive will work with the new system. Does anybody have any suggestions for drives that will workw
There seems to be a problem, just now, with the USB 3 ports on the new MBP's supporting eternal USB 3 drives. Some people have no luck at all - can't even recognize the drive - and some are reporting USB 2 speeds (those who drives are recognized). I'd call a dealer such as LaCie or OWC to see if they have USB 3 drives that actually work with MBP's with USB 3 ports. You may have to wait for a software/firmware update.

I have an imac with IMAP email. have managed to partially sync up my ipad with it in that I can receive the same emails that appear on my imac but I can't send from my ipad. Any ideas?
That sounds like a settings issue to me. Check with your IT depatment to make sure you have it configured properly.

States the account cant be used or the password and such is wrong. I noticed that after google bought youtube it all became complicated. Tried all trouble shooting, Any ideas?
That would indicate an issue with the local network, not internet. This can impact devices differently and will likely be more obvious on a streaming only device.
If you are on wifi try ethernet
Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)
Go to istumbler, netstumbler or similar to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise.
