HT1933 I have fraudulent charges on my iTunes account from China. Already changed my password but it seems to keep happening. I am stuck in a support loop trying to seek help from Apple.

If you're looking for fellow travelers I suggest you browse the 1000+ posts on the "My iTunes account has been hacked" thread in the iTunes for Mac forum.  I don't know that you'll benefit from it other than knowing it has happened to others.
Still, you don't state a specific technical issue.  You changed your password. Good.  You've contacted Apple.   Presumably you've asked them to refund your money which is up to them to decide.  We here are just other Mac users like you with no special access to the iTunes Store people.  We can provide feedback and suggestions if you have a specific question.

    If you believe that your account has been hacked, then change your password and alert your credit card company - ask them about reimbursement.

    Was that message showing a s dialog when selecting the tv connection as a sound output device?  I ask because I don't know the exact context of that message and never heard of it before.
    It may be helpful to take a screen shot of both that message and also the list of the sound output devices while the tv is connected.
    You never specified your model (year) of your imac so I don't know its limitations.  Maybe some version doesn't support sound through the mini-displayport (hard to believe any model wouldn't with mini-displayport).  But if that is the case you may have to resort to analog stereo from you stereo line out output jack to your tv.
    One final thing.  The mini-displayport adapter you have may not support audio.  That was a possibility a few years ago.  That is why most places that sells these things also explicity specify whether the adapter supports audio.  For example, monoprice's adapter:

    or even the Moshi adapter sold through the apple store.

    Note both these adapters explictily say they have audio support.

    Your iTunes Store account has nothing to do with you each recieving the other's text messages on your iOS devices. What you need to do is seperate your iCloud accounts.

    Go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap on the account that you want to change on the right-hand side and if it's an IMAP type account then tap on the Account line at the top and one of the fields that you then get should be Passwords

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, providing you with your own contacts, calendars etc, not doing so will result in exactly what you have experienced. The contacts have likely been lost due to the options you have chosen at the login stage on each device.
    Unless you have the missing contacts in a backup file, they won't be recoverable unfortunately. You can add them manually to the contracts that already exist and continue to share the iCloud account if you wish, but I suggest that you each have your own iCloud account.
    Note, you can each have your own iCloud account, but continue to share an iTunes account for purchases of apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc.

    I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

    Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.
