Reset your iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
If you continue to have issues, try downloading the apps to iTunes on your computer, then sync your iPhone using iTunes.

That is correct. Macs do not pair to iPhones, iPads, etc.
However, pairlng is not required to get Handoff to work. Both devices must have Bluetooth on, but they need not (indeed cannot) be paired.

Your post is in " iChat " which is an App on Mac computers.
You could be using an Apple ID in iCloud on the iPad or in Messages or in fact both.
If it is an ID issued by Apple it may also be used in the mail app.
We would need to know more before offering suggestions.

Trouble updating to 4.3.5 with iPad & iPhone 4

I have 3 devices, my 3GS iPhone updated to 4.3.5 with no problems but I have tried numerous times trying to update my iPad & iPhone 4 with no success. iTunes downloads the software but when it comes to downloading it to the other 2 devices a fault pops up about the network times out. Tried rebooting, waiting for updates for iTunes but still no success. Tried the diagnosis option with iTunes & both devices test ok. Help would be much appreciated.

I have been having same difficulty with my ipad, First I thought my home broadband had a problem, but that was not true because other applications were accessing the internet at the same time without any problem. I cannot count the number of times i have tried downloading this update, I even changed internet connections and used one of the best so far in London but still had the same annoying message 'that network time out' meanwhile the network is working 5/5. I dont know whether any one has succeeded to talk to apple support staff on the phone. I would i could but presentlt i cant because the last time i had difficulties and called them, I was reminded that my 9months warranty has expired and that i should not expect anymore support on the phone except i decide to update this warranty.
Please share if you finally got a way around this issue. I use keynote alot, but the latest update would not install unless my OS is up to date. It is really a pain.

I have done all the suggestions, nothing is working for me. I have erased all contedt and settings. Plugged into itunes, tried checking for new software(says it is up to date) tried restore and back up. Just keeps telling me there was a problem downloading the software for Ipad and pop up box re-directs me to all the suggestions I have already tried. My mac software and itunes are up to date. i have restarted both computer and ipad. Still, no dice.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.

There's your problem. I don't trust WiFi for firmware updates. Power and hard wire for anything that might result in bricking your system if something goes wrong.
WiFi's fine for getting an app or song update. Who cares if it fails and ruins one?

I had the same problem on my Mac Pro, iPad, Macbook Pro. Could not load iTunes, App Store or any support community. Called Apple Care and she asked if I had rebooted my router in awhile. I had not. Each of these would load half way and then just stop. She said iTunes and App Store could be stopped as they are different than my Discover or e-Bay accounts, which were fine. So during the 75 min call I pulled the power cord of the Netgear Wi Fi router, let it sit for 2 or 3 min and then replugged the power adapter. In about 4 to 5 min the sites started to load, although not displayed correctly. After quitting and re-starting the apps in question they are working fine again. But this has happened twice now in a 6 hour time period. So give it a try, but also give it a couple of tries.

SSL patch update has caused many issues with my iPhone 5c

Since the patch update completed, my iPhone is acting ridiculous. I cannot use safari. Every time I try to search something, it tells me it cannot connect to server. I also cannot delete voicemails. Once I delete, the phone freezes and the voicemail is not deleted. It comes back from deleted messages. When I hit the phone toggle button, it opens up my recent call list but it opens to the calls from Thursday, the day I did the update. It also deleted every text message that I had sent that day from my text history. I have shut the phone down, what other options do I have?

I have actually talked to a couple people that I know that have the 5c and it seems like it is a hit or miss. Some people have problems with the blue ones, im having issues with the white one, some people have no issues att all. COnsider your son luck that he has no problems. It is crazy but in the apple store they set up the icloud for me and then I started sync the iphone against the icloud and i had some photos in streaming because they recommended to do like that. After that, the space got not enough and they asked for more more to increase the space, so I decided to come back to the previous method and sync my iphone with itunes via usb. Well, the email address that i had for my apple id became unavailable so i had to create a new account this time with gmail and since then, i cannot sync my iphone. I have done it today and i have lost my contacts and the calendar is no ,onger sync. I am using outlook to manage my mail and when I look for the i cloud it asks me for the old email address which no longer exists and does not match with the current one.
Can anyone help me?
