My Ipod 2Gen will not update from IOS 4.2.1 keeps saying this is the most up to date software. Does the 2 Gen Ipod not allow anything higher than 4.2.1. HELP PLEASE!!!!

My Ipod Touch iOs5 will not update apps, I did reset and still not work

My Ipod Touch will not update apps. The apps that need updates are frozen. I select update it says installing or waiting. The app is shaded and not able to use until I can update. I did reset but still not updating. What else can I do?

Thanks. I updated my ipod touch but more importantly I had to specifically request to sync my apps. Once I synced my apps from my ibook, TED and other apps are highlighted back to normal. I will use fewer apps less updates to deal with. Computers are quite a pain with all the constant updates to install.

Every time i try to install the update itunes gives an error saying " iPod could not be updated and that the device isn't eligible for the requested build. This is a new ipod and i had to send it in for repair once because the wake button stopped working. Ever since i received my ipod back i had the problem of not being able to update to iOS 4.3.3. Sync via the manual method. Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

My Ipod 4th gen. will not update. Download will not complete. Help!

In the past i have had no problems updating my ipod touch 4th gen but recently i cannot update it. I will click update and the loading bar will load all the way, then it will say that it is processing the file. It will say this for a minute or 2 and then give me an error code: 3259 telling me to check my network connection (which works perfect) or try again later. I have tryed reseting my ipod, i cannot restore my ipod because it wants to update it and then restore it. I have not been able to update for over a month and i have missed 2 updates due to this problem. What do i do?

How much it costs depends on who you have replace the battery whether that be Apple or a 3rd party repair company. Here are Apple's prices.

It would likely be much cheaper to have a 3rd party company do it instead. One company I have heard a lot of good things about is iResq. For others, do a simple Google search for "iPod battery repair" and you should get a plethora of results.

Ipod Touch 2G will not update!

Ok every time I try to update my Ipod Touch 2G to the new software it goes through the process of extracting the software, and then just gives an error message that says "Itunes could not back up the ipod because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the ipod. Then it tells me to delete the backup and try again but i have NO CLUE how to do that! Please help me!
P.S. I have already tried repairing Itunes and it tells me it repaired successfully!

Hello there,
Head to the Edit drop down menu and choose Preferences. When the window pops up, head over to the Devices tab. Here is where you will find a list of backups for your iPod. Go ahead select any backups listed and click the Delete button. Once you have done that, go ahead and try upgrading your iPod again.

Ipod touch 1G will not update to 3.1.2

I have recently purchased software update 3.1.2 for my ipod touch 1G, when updating the process fails with error code (1604), i have tried everything the support pages suggested, when the ipod goes into recovery mode I can restore back to 2.2.1, but when i try and update or restore to 3.1.2 the ipod screen turns to the usb - itunes logo, then the screen turns black but will not go to the apple logo, i have tried restoring back to the orginal software 1.1.5, and the same error is caused, Ive tried restoring to 2.2 then updating to 3.0, and get error (1602)

You should try on another computer if possible. Don't worry it is not going to charge you again; it will act as if it will charge you but it will end up saying that you have already purchased the software and it will start re-downloading it. The trick for error 1604 is attempt to restore, wait until you get the error, close itunes (don't touch the ipod: leave it connected) and open itunes. The ipod should be automatically detected in recovery mode. Attempt to restore again. Errors in the 1600 range (1601, 1602, 1604, etc) normally relate to usb timing or port problems. You can try another port or another usb cable but normally taking it to another computer is the fastest way if you have access.

Only the iPod 5th generation can update to iOS 7. If you have an earlier model then you cannot update to iOS 7.

I have made sure that my ipod is second generation, and i have tried to resotr it twice to fix the problem. I'm getting a little bit frustrated with it. I went to the apple store in metrotwn and the gentlemen didnt even look at the ipod, just told me that it was maybe to old of a generation to support updates. Everytime I go to update my 4g iPod tough, it tells me the network connection was messed with or lost. I check my internet and everything is okay, nothing is wrong with my connection to the internet or the connection between my iTunes and the iPod itself. Does your MacBook meet the specifications for AirPlay
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Restart your mobile device.

Hi I got an Iphone 3GS on Vodaphone and got it unlocked so I can use it on Orange. My phone is currently on ios version 4.2.1 however when i plug it into my laptop it says you have the current softwear even though the newest is ios 6. I have updated my itunes but it still dosent work. Please can i have some help BTW. My wife has just got an iphone 5 and we both use the same itunes so it is definitly not itunes. I have quite literally tried everything. My ipod touch just will not update.
My internet connection is more than fine, my ipod functions as it should, and I can connect to the itunes store.
It will not, however, connect to the update server.
